Everyone who survived had to contend with the darkness for only a few moments more. A spiderweb of geometric blue energy lines lit up along the walls until the entire room was at least navigable. As the lines of light connected with the ground, the entire floor lit up with glowing shapes and healing FEAR. With no guardian chimaera to absorb it, students would find themselves healing back to normal in a matter of minutes. The floor symbols faded when the healing ran out. The walls remained lit, the light disappearing down two unmarked, identical tunnels.

Everyone who dissipated suddenly reappeared as if they'd never left, albeit much closer to a conspicuous-looking vine of pumpkins half-hidden by the bones. Other than feeling a bit chilly, they were restored to full health. Examining the pumpkins would reveal they were frozen solid but still functional. Something for the future botanists and healers to take a closer look at. It was a bit ominous to think of how many others must have been here before, reforming over and over again right in front of the chimaera until they couldn't any more - or reformed undead.

The light revealed a trench of a room piled with bones along the bridge side of the room and scattered skeletons carpeting the rest of it, some of them still adorned in clothing or accessories. Many of them had just been bucked off the defeated chimaera. Painted on the walls was a glorified visual history of necromancy and liches, or maybe just the one lich, though it was defaced along the bottom edge with carvings. The room likely once had a different purpose than housing some gigantic skeletal guard dog.

The errant mashers had retreated out of the light, leaving only a handful of eye clusters to peek out from under the bones.

EVERYONE
The battle is over! Everyone has returned to full health, and their FEAR has been reset.

If you'd like to examine the room, look for treasure, or loot things, this is the place to do it! After all, what did happen to all those lost adventurers (and their stuff)? Remember to use bold red font and quote me (iizbot).

When your character is ready to move on (or you'd like to keep going at the same time as you continue to explore here, you can be in 2 threads at once), choose a tunnel!

There was a roar that may have sent at small rodents (if there were any) skittering for cover. ARGGG! He really hated dissipating! Though it was hardly the first time Sheridan had faded into the darkness, reduced to only his FEAR, he still -hated- it.

But his anger was quickly forgotten, replaced with worry and dread, turning to search through the cave, his gaze scanning every corner.

"Tess?"

Where was she? By the cosmos, please let her be alright. As much as he hated dissipation, it was her he feared for.

"Tess!"

"Oh! You need help!" As soon as she moved towards the boil hidden under a giant fallen bone, the place lit up with geometric lines. Even the floor as well, and it was strangely beautiful in a way, even with the skeletons telling the stories of what happened to those who came before the group littered about. Right, but there were other things to take care of. No time for dawdling.

Crouching by the humongous leg-bone, she cautiously tried to lift it. She was sturdy monster ghoul, and certainly stronger than she looked, but she didn't have super-strength by any means. The bone lifted up a little. "Is this enough? I don't think I can lift it up any higher." Or hold it for very long. Shd could feel the strain on her arms, but leaving someone caught like that just didn't seem right. And the lifting was a bit easier now that she'd been healed and all.

Flying overhead, Poke found that not only was she able to see clearly, but the geometric lines had some sort of healing properties. Before long she felt as good as new, and she could even see the others who had dissipated begin to reform.

But, there were more important things to attend to. Now that they had defeated their foe, she had some time to look for one of the most important things, TREASURE! Because you always got to look for loot after you defeated a boss, right?

Flying a little lower, She Scanned the piles of bones for shiny objects, hoping to find something valuable. As she did so, she spied a red dragon boil nearby. Hadn't she seen him before?

"Hello!" She shouted from above. "You here for the loot? Or just here to fight the big guys?"

Ulmuka shuffled awkwardly, blinking unevenly when the room lit up. He hadn't needed the healing but the refreshing feeling did not go unnoticed. He stretched his wings and hopped towards the strange wall paintings.

"Curious!" He hooed and craned downwards to look at defacing carvings along the bottom edge.

How long had it just been that creature in here? Their friends reformed, with the aid of pumpkins but it seemed to a peculiar set up.

The beast was dead, and although the priestess had no use for the healing she still felt the refreshing effects of the FEAR. It made her shiver, goosebumps raising along dark skin before she ran her hands along her arms to chase them away. Now that they were out of immediate danger the ghoul had time to give their layout a proper once over, starting with the floor of the cave and moving up towards the ceiling, finally following the light down the two similar tunnels. "Well that's not good." She wasn't speaking to anyone in particular. That didn't mean the whispers in her mind didn't try to provide a response. She ignored them, shook her head to clear it, then wandered towards a wall to peer down at a bunch of carvings already being peered at by a winged student.

-----------------

One moment dead, the next alive and freezing. Hadiyya's first breath was a gasp, then her teeth started chattering uncontrollably as she stumbled away from the frost covered pumpkins and onto a clear bit of cave floor. Her first concern was warmth, but that wasn't really a viable option considering where they were, and she was going to have to settle with getting her shivering under control and maintaining what little body heat she could through her thick coat. After a few moments she managed to get the bone jawing teeth rattle down to a tolerable chatter. It wasn't perfect, but it was probably the best she was going to do unless they started moving around again.

A distraction was in order, and one presented itself in the frozen pumpkins that had respawned her and anyone else that had gotten crushed by the falling bones. It was lucky they were there, but this was really one of the last places she'd have expected to find them.

Humming thoughtfully, the ghoul knelt, one hand reaching out to touch one of the frost covered pumpkins.

Enzo groaned as suddenly the weight was lifted just enough for him to scramble free, the sudden movement of the bone sending the surviving rats tumbling to the snow as the reaper wobbled to his feet and brushed himself off.

Despite the sway and rushing feeling in his head, Enzo tried to play it cool, "Thanks, doll-" He smiled groggily before nearly falling over again.

There was a faint glow on the ground as he landed on his knees, using the monster ghoul's pant leg to haul himself back up again, "I'm cool, I'm cool, just... just a bit...." He blinked one eye and then the other before spotting his hat where it had landed some feet away. At least something in the air was making him feel better... that was good.

Deep breaths. Keep your cool. You got this, boy.

Jamming his hat back on he gave a whistle and the six surviving rodents came scrambling back to dodge up his pant leg and vanish inside his coat before reappearing at the collar again, snuggled up and warm once more.
"So, we blowin' this popsicle stand or what?" He shivered, thankful his head seemed to be clearing.

"Er, you're quite welcome." Keeping up her pants when the boil used them to get up was a bit of a challenge, but she managed it without any embarrassing accidents. Thankfully.

Popsicle stand? She gave him a slightly concerned look, wondering if perhaps the healing FEAR had forgotten a concussion when it healed him. "We probably should. Unless there's anything to be found here - there could be, I think." She reached out with a foot to poke at one of the skeletons nearby. Some of this stuff had to still be useful, right? "No popsicles, though."

"I'm just here for the adventure. And to help Aymet," Jericho grumbled. For anyone who knew the dragon, they might have realized how odd that statement was considering how he normally had an affinity for treasure.

And by Jack there were still a lot of Mashers around.

Why couldn't there be some real meat around here instead?

After a bit of travel, Shun found himself healed of his wounds. The surge of Fear in the area was rather refreshing really. Letting out a breath, he looked around towards the others, then went to move on. He didn't really have a great deal of interest in sifting around here.

---

Upon reforming, Tseng blinked before looking around. He was as good as new! And better yet, they had slain the big beast! More will probably come. Let them, he thought. They will just fall in the same way, and just add to their glory!

Sibyl had been so distracted trying to handle the strange emotions she was feeling that she had essentially just..shut herself down. She was angry, so angry. She wanted to cry, to scream, to go back to her mommy and hug her tight until the bad feelings went away. All her insecurities hit her then. Sibyl didn't like it, she hated it. She wanted to leave. She wanted to--oh...

Bad feeling gone..?

She sat up, eyes wide and darting all around. "Wh..what..?"

Siobhan awoke to find herself with others, standing amidst the frosted pumpkins in a patch. Oh! Oh Siobhan knew what this meant!

"Future baaaaabiiiiies~" Siobha giggled and snuggled one of the frosty fruits. "Coochie coo~"

(( Late Chimera-endboss roll LIKE A BOSS ))

"Hey, thanks," Merope mumbled as Sheridan helped him to his feet, looking up just in time to be bowled over by the larger dragon as he dived towards Tess. By the time Merope rose to his feet again, the celestial dragon had dissipated.

...Only to reappear moments later along with everyone else. Merope climbed back to his feet and dusted himself off, checking to make sure is backpack was intact as the lights flickered on again.

Merope moved closer to the skeletons. He searched for a skeleton that seemed more or less intact, tapping it and waiting for signs of unlife before he searched it for interesting bones and, well, loot.

"Thanks," Aymet murmured to Jericho, folding and unfolding his wings in a sort of antsy draconic gesture. The dracolich had been surprisingly subdued, hiding his face even better under the skull. His phylactery was broken, leaking precious energy all the time, and the more he exerted himself and his FEAR, it was lost too fast to replenish. So he'd hung back, and hated every minute of it. He was responsible for leading people into a trap and couldn't do anything to help them without destroying himself. He tried to meet Amrita's gaze, wherever she'd ended up.

Danger eliminated, Aymet stepped carefully around the fallen bones. There was a distinctively draconic skeleton among the remains of the chimaera. It was smaller than his natural form by a little bit, but made up for it with a thinner, lither build. As he looked it over, he caught the glint of silver metal. He gently lifted up the skull with both hands, and found a chain around the neck bones. What remained of a phylactery, empty of energy, dangled from it. Most of the glass was still intact, but enough was shattered that Aymet could guess exactly what had happened - and who she'd been. "Saryx..."

"Figure of speech, Doll, figure of speech," Enzo ran his hand along the brim of his hat, breathing in deeply. Whatever was in the air certainly was perking him up. He lost a lot of rats, and judging by the way they pretty much froze or were smooshed along the way here, there probably weren't many lurking around.

There seemed to be a lot of potatoes making eyes at him, though, several still rolling along behind him from their attempt to help him attack before as they walked. He supposed they were better than roaches.

He gave one a firm kick all the same.

"So what brings you on this adventure? You a Reaper too?" He straightened his gloves before picking through the bones to see if maybe the Mashers were hiding something of more interest down in the icy ground with them.

He wasn't sure if he was ready to commit to a direction just yet- He came all this way to a Dragon Land there had better be something valuable along the way.
