Well, y'know how I mentioned that I love to write? I've gotten inspired a couple times and paid a visit to fanfiction.net on more than one occasion for the Sheelos cause. I was proud of it so I wanted to share it with you guys if you like and I would love to read any of your Tales of Symphonia ficcies if you have some. Here's my fanfiction.net name: halliegirlI'm sorry if there is a similar thread to this somewhere else but I love to talk about writing and reading fanfics, and I didn't see a thread like this. If you've been wondering why I haven't been on much posting, I kinda don't even know what to say... So I thought maybe if I shared an interest of mine, possibly others might share some of the same interests? Meh, I dunno, but it's worth a shot anyways. Anywhoo, if it's in the wrong area in the guild, feel free to move it and I apologize, and/or if there is another topic like this feel free to delete this and please let me know so I can start posting there! Thanks!

There were times I would read some fanfics that catch my attention. There was one I was working on, though I've been having writer's block with it. I think the most recent I've read was this Tales of Symphonia x Fullmetal Alchemist cross-over, and I thought it was pretty interesting.

The setting is pretty much Colette's journey with the Elric Brothers. From the FMA's point, it's around after the events of Conqueror of Shambala. They had to where the brothers are unable to use alchemy in Aselia, though they managed to talk with Phaidra and them into letting them accompany Raine, Kratos, and Colette on their travels in order to go to Palmacosta I think to learn more about where they are (Of course they had to lie about where they're from. lol. )

I've had ideas for several, but most of them end up mass crossovers or have a certain thematic that make me want to post them somewhere else. If I ever decided to write one that is. I'm cripplingly lazy at times, and writing is something that I like to do, but I can't seem to come up with a good way to say what I envision in my mind.

I'm a bit of a lurker on the site, I guess. I've been tempted, on numerous occasions, to actually make an account under the name that I use for my Anonymous moniker, and I've had a LOT of crossover ideas as well as just straight series ideas, but... I'm actually a little shy about them. Thus, they never get written down, never get read, and never get published. sweatdrop Yes, I'm an idiot about it, I know. sweatdrop crying

I know the first time I wrote a ficcie I was scared to death about how people thought. What I found, though was that I just wrote something that I desperately wanted to see happen, and came to find that there were a lot of people who agreed with me. They wanted to see it too. Just write what you want to. There will always be people who will like what you write! And if you ever feel like posting it, I'll be your Beta reader!

Sheelosity, WOO!!
I have a fanfiction account myself, been a member for 6 years now. My username is Link Fangirl01. Naturally the first stories I wrote were for the Zelda fandom, a noobish self-insert that actually went over rather well and a slapstick collection of stupid situations.
I've since written for a handful of other archives and have been taking up residence in the Tales of Symphonia section since last August. :3 It's all I write now. I have a few scrappy oneshots up and a collection for everything that couldn't fit into a an actual story. I have quite a lot of fics in progress that haven't been posted yet. Half are spinoffs or rewrites of stories I've read. (I won't post them, they're just fun to write.)
I've been trying to get a grip on how to write successful oyako. >___> It's going...slowly.

Next time I'm on I'll try to remember to leave a review too. biggrin I'll likely post up all my ficcies I write for the guild contest as a story too, I just have been to lazy to change the format I had my story in to fit FF.Net's format. Blech. Not to mention I'm thinking up a summer ficcie for the guild right now so I'm kinda busy. XD

Is it on FF.net? Wouldn't mind checking it out... When I first got into fanfiction, I was really into Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha (both manga by the same author btw she's awesome!) Anyway, my fiance and I started a Ranma/Inuyasha crossover but we kinda lost it somewhere lol. I wouldn't mind starting over on it if I ever get the time again but right now I have more on my plate than fanfiction and it's really hard to write if I lose my spark for a certain thing.

Yeah, it is actually. Here it is. I was into the Final Fantasy series when I first started reading fanfics. When I was in high school, a friend of mine used to make funny little skits involving FF characters. XD Mostly it was FF7-9.

What format is that? Just...write it down. And make sure to make the paragraphs small, or readers will come for your head.
No kidding, you too? xd I'm brainstorming one as well. The deadline's in September, so you've got a while to work.

When I posted my Christmas fanfic here, I used the BBC code instead of normal (i.e. Italics, bold, etc.) so I'm pretty sure it won't translate into the format FF.net has. So I have to rework it. Shouldn't be too much of a hassle I just have to get up off my lazy butt and do it! And don't worry about faults. Mine have faults too, lots and lots lol.

Wow, I haven't checked back with this thread for a while! eek In all honesty, I thought I would get a lot of negative feedback for those remarks, as I seem to find almost nothing but prejudice for lurkers on FF.net, so I'm happy to hear that from you! biggrin If/when I ever thinking about submitting a work there, I'll be sure to let you know! 3nodding (It'll probably be a very calm first attempt, haha. smile ) Admittedly, the plot bunnies have redoubled their efforts since making that first post, so I'm almost to the breaking point of actually making my own account. sweatdrop I've told a friend a few of my ideas before, and she seemed to like them, but I am scared to DEATH of possibly making a Mary Sue (my logic: since I'm badly out of practice for rping, no matter how well I set up the scene for a story, I'll wind up with something bad somewhere... stare ). My second problem is that I never know how to end a story. sweatdrop gonk It's killer!

My second problem is that I never know how to end a story. sweatdrop gonk It's killer! Hey, maybe you could do what my Writing Short Fiction teacher does and get other people to "cruelly edit" your stuff if you're thinking that it needs it. I'm mostly unqualified to even post in this thread, but how about a nice non sequitur or at least a strange last-minute twist? Like so, maybe. "Upon seeing the snail, the one with the bomb shouted and fell backwards and into the river, which exploded. 'D***, that was my favorite river,' the snail complained." ...Hey, we were told to write something involving a snail, a Methodist church, and a bomb (there was an evacuation drill that day). It's likely to end strangely. What's a talking snail between friends? It's the bomb, that's what! *shot* ...Ahem. Anyway, I'd say to find an honest editor. Again, hardly qualified, but there's my submission to you. Have a thing.
