I've been a member of this guild for a long time, mostly lurking. I think the last time I posted was well over a year ago.
But, recently my husband and I found out that I was pregnant with our first child together (my husband has a son from a former "relationship". I love him as my own as well, but he does not live with us.). We are happy and excited.
I am only 6 weeks, however I feel like I am experiencing EVERY possible pregnancy symptom possible in the first trimester, lol. But I have been cramping and spotting, and I went to the doctor, and they said that I wasn't actively miscarrying, and things look normal. I was told to be on bed rest, among other precautions. I have been sick with a bad cold and during the worst of it it seemed my spotting and cramping was way worse. But now that I am getting over it, things seem to be fine.
I am so scared of miscarrying, as I'm sure all women who want to keep their pregnancy are.
The doctor told me that a lot of women go through spotting in their pregnancy, but I'm only 6 weeks. I feel like I shouldn't be SO aware of my pregnancy yet. But, movies don't really translate to real life, obviously.

Also, I've been dealing with EMOTIONS OMG. Never before have I been so emotional.
It really upsets me, though, because the people I have freaked out on (not my husband... yet?), seem to think that I'm just using my pregnancy as an "excuse". Like I want to misinterpret things. It's just really frustrating how many people don't understand.
To note, though, I haven't freaked out on strangers. Just two guys where I regular here on Gaia, and my mom and brother. But I later apologized to everyone (that I thought deserved it, which included my family).
Sigh, did anyone else have to deal with people just not "getting" the hormones bit? I give people fair warning, and it's not as if I necessarily freak out for no reason.

No one but another pregnant woman understands the hormones, for the most part. xd
But honestly, I don't see it as an excuse. I never really could help it, but some women can keep themselves in check. My best advice is to *try* and step back to take a deep breath before you speak. Its hard, but at least try. 3nodding
Congratulations, by the way! If you ever have any questions or need some advice, you're more than welcome to drop me a PM! ^_^

Lass Kyon Lol honestly when I flip out (which is still not very often) I don't even think I just say s**t and I get angrier as I'm talking, sort of, lol. Thanks! My husband would always say to himself, "Its just the hormones..its just the hormones.." like he was consoling himself when I got mad and pissy. It made me more mad! I was like, "No damnit! I MEAN IT!!" Talk about Preggersaurus Rex. lol

Lass Kyon Lmao. I think I'd feel more comforted if people didn't take me seriously ;-; ;o; Aww. <3 It'll get better...then it'll get worse again, lol. I got extra crabby and mean at the end of both my pregnancies. So, since you've got me actively posting, do you have any questions or want some info?

I "look forward" to that. cat_crying I don't know if I have any questions yet... but a suggestion for a good cream to prevent stretchmarks (or at least as much as possible) would be good. xd

Can't do much about them to my knowledge. You should see my belly. It looks like a tiger clawed it. sweatdrop

That sounds pretty awesome, actually, lol.
My mom has a scar from her c-sections and some from her stretchmarks, but I recently lost weight (ironic) so I'm hoping I don't have to deal with them too bad because my stomach skin might still be pretty "stretchy".

Yeah. I got some bad stretch marks, evethough i used coca butter lotion three times a day on it. So there is no avoiding it (because i also got that tiger mark belly). Tell you what though. I never got mad or had an attatude or anything when I was preggo, let alone any symptoms outside of "Okay. Im bored." So I was very lucky on my part. (I did get mad once, and it wasnt hormones. It was my husbands stupidity.)
As for the cut, well... Its about seven inches long and I curse it every chance I get. I was trying to work this weight and extra skin off for two years and nothing happened outside of regaining the pounds. -.-;
So your in for one hell of a ride...

Probably. It takes a long time for skin and such to repair so you may not get any new marks. You can also bind your belly after giving birth to help it go back and shrink. Breastfeeding helps take care of some weight, too if you didn't know that. Hopefully you won't have to deal with a c-section scar though.

Damn, I should just have my husband take a picture of my body now.
I've always been very athletic in build (sports), and the heaviest I have EVER been was 165-ish, and that was recently, so... I am not looking forward to the weight, I am not super afraid though because I do plan on keeping fit while I'm pregnant (though obviously not to the extent that it would hurt the baby).

I still have my before and after pics. You should do that when you can and add the belly pictures to the album.
