Quick Introduction Welcome to Konoha's Experience Center. Here is where you will post up any work you have done on your character in order to receive credit. If you are a foreigner who is visiting and training on Konoha land, you may also post here to pend for exp. This of course excludes any missions undertaken which brought you here: that will be the responsibility of your own local Kage and his or her assistants. The graders charged for alloting exp in this subforum are...
- ProtoXtreme - Tairu Khime - Minimidget - Anhouri - Homicidal Love
Got an issue? Think your grader hates you? Then appeal to another grader.
Now before you are allowed to use the template formats to pend for exp, you must first understand some basic clauses. You can further read on of how bonuses and penalties will be counted at your convenient leisure.
Template Format The templates are not for decorative purposes. You are to properly fill it out. Failure to do so will result in penalties.
Multiple Thread Allottment You are not expected to remain trapped in one thread until you finish your training, learning your Jutsu, or mission. However, you are required to clearly label out and link where your work is continued for courtesy purposes.
General Weather Effect Post exp as soon as you finish. We will try to have them graded before a time of the RP day is over. Keep in mind weather is important as there are weather effects that may deter or amplify damage of certain elemental techniques or change Chakra consumption cost.
Missions have slight variations to the weather system. The team captain formulates everything for all of the days (even up to different parts of the day depending on what they want to do) and confirm beforehand with the Kage. There is also the option if they are on Konohagakure land to use Konoha's weather effects. Captains are expected to report the effects for each RP day in a special "notice" post kicking off each new day in their mission.
Fundamental Info on Missions These are the currently available missions for the village shinobi. It's on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to contribute missions to the current listing, feel free to pm ProtoXtreme and she will put them up. If you want a mission, simply request what you want in this thread. If someone else has taken it already, you will be asked to choose another. Only bolded missions are one-time only.
Now you can start the mission automatically. For D or minor C rank missions, a messenger bird will deliver your scroll describing your mission to your cell. For higher ranked missions, visit the Hokage Tower and a secretary will give you the debriefing scroll as well as your traveling visa(s) if necessary, such as in the event of entering a foreign village. Before you go on a mission that requires you to leave the village, you are required to go to the Hokage's Tower and eyeball that first post very carefully.
Minor antagonists will be played as NPCs by either the village leaders or any associated supervisors to whom the village leaders has entrusted the task. That may or may not be your team captain. Profiles are to be created by either the Team Captain or collective effort of the team and are to be sent by the Team Captain and/or team members to the Hokage directly for final approval. Spoils (approved spoils, of course) earned from defeating opponents are also for your team's looting consideration.
Basic Info on Training The village leaders are very aware of the Help/Hurt system. However, they will not consider that as the sole source of "applicable interaction". You will not be penalized or graded favorably for any aid you receive from higher-ranked shinobi on regular or Jutsu training. You are graded in this village by how you handled and utilized interaction within each and every single post.
For your purposes on how interaction bonuses go, for helping/healing you receive +1 exp point per interaction if you are not doing anything else (rest posts will therefore also be eligible). Otherwise you only get +.5 exp which is added together for each interaction, stacked, and rounded up in the end if it was more offhanded interactions (i.e. just randomly giving someone else a Help/Hurt). Depending on your rank, this is how much you can help or hurt someone else's roll by either aiding or distracting them in their training.
Academy Student: +/-1 Genin: +/-2 Chuunin: +/-3 Special Jounin: +/-4 Jounin/ANBU/Hunter-nin: +/-5 Sennin/Kage: +/-6
As stated above, you do not need to help/hurt to earn interaction bonuses. If someone else is NPCing a character for you and gives very reasonable, well-written valuable information to your RPC character, consideration will be taken when reading. This will be also a slightly higher reward: +2 exp per reasonable interaction line because the other person expended their time for you.
Furthermore
Training DCs: The harder they are, the more exp you are rewarded. Effort and circumstance, as well as performance, are always taken into consideration.
To the Victor Goes the Spoils: Did you spar with someone? Or fight with someone? Be it during mundane training, Jutsu learning, or in a mission you may be further rewarded depending on if you had won or lost.
Set Reward for Winner: +[10x opponent's level] exp Set Reward for Loser: +[5x opponent's level] exp

How Grading Goes The standard DC is 10 to receive no base exp penalties however that means a solid roll of 10 throughout the whole training. Jutsu learning also uses this base for the (per stage) considerations.
If you want your abilities/skills to factor into the training, you may to finish quicker but it will cost you. Therefore, for all respective purposes the formula only serves to tell the grader which primary stat you are supposed to get rewarded in.
In summarization, a DC under solid 10 results in...
Halved exp from the base No stat points rewarded
The base exp rewarded for a solid DC of 10 is 15.
DC 11 - 20 exp DC 12 - 25 exp DC 13 - 30 exp DC 14 - 35 exp DC 15 - 40 exp
Every DC higher than 10 receives a +5 increment. It is completely up to you how high you want to set your DC. Now that we understand better how base exp works, we can discuss then what stacks on top of it.
System Updates: As of September 2011, it has been included in the system that 5/5 training are once more allowed. Such training would only be graded for exp and no other bonuses will be considered. Furthermore, a roll of 20 will be considered as 2 successes instead.
Length bonuses will not be curved to fit this smaller range, so be aware you may lose some exp doing 5/5 training. The recalibrated Handseals Lesson for the Academy is the only exception to the rules.k o n o h a g a k u r e ▬▬ ▬ Duration Bonus in Mundane Training
400 (estimated words per post) * 15 (max number of posts to be considered for bad luck with the dice) = 3000 words
If you fall under 3000 words, you will receive no literacy bonus. Working from every ~400 words above 3000, then...
+400 words - +2 exp +800 words - +7 exp +1200 words - +12 exp + 1600 words - +15 exp
**Note: Estimates may fall in between and rounded to the next nearest whole number.
Duration Bonus in Jutsu Learning
The duration bonus in Jutsu learning works similarly. The base is 3000 words written minimum. The [ESSENTIAL] Training and Levels thread in the Game System names the core ranges as this:
E Rank - Graded as normal training. D Rank - 20 - 75 exp C Rank - 60 - 120 exp B Rank - 100 - 250 exp A Rank - 150 - 300 exp S Rank - 200 - 500 exp
How ranges are determined...
D-rank +20 exp - +800 words above the 3000 words minimum +45 exp - +1600 words +55 exp - +2400 words +75 exp - +3200 words
C-rank +60 exp - +1200 words above the 3000 words minimum +80 exp - +2400 words +100 exp - +3600 words +120 exp - +4800 words
B-rank +100 exp - +1600 words above the 3000 words minimum +150 exp - +3200 words +200 exp - +4800 words +250 exp - +6400 words

S-rank +200 exp - +2800 words above the 3000 words minimum +300 exp - +5600 words +400 exp - +8400 words +500 exp - +11200 words
How the counterpart literacy bonus will be graded in missions...
Does the procedure of planning out the stages of this mission make sense? - +5 exp Does the method of carrying out the stages make sense? - +10 exp Went the extra mile of clearly extra research? - +15 exp
Stat points distribution for training...
For ability point rewards, it will be done according to shinobi rank to provide incentives to promote your shinobi.
Academy Students/Genin - Base of 1 Ability Point Max awarded per training Chuunin - Base of 2 Ability Points Max awarded per training Jounin+ - Base of 3 Ability Points Max awarded per training
**note: More info will be forthcoming after the Yin Dojo and Yang Dojo threads are set up on how exactly Konoha promotions after Chuunin rank is attained will work. ANBU/Sennin ranks fall under the Jounin+.
As for skill points, it will also be associated with rank...
Academy Students/Genin - Base of 2 Max Preliminary Skill points OR Base of 3 Max Skill points distributed between Associated/Implicit Skills Chuunin - Base of 2 Max Preliminary Skill points OR Base of 4 Max Skill points distributed between Associated/Implicit Skills Jounin+ - Base of 3 Max Preliminary Skill points OR Base of 4 Max Skill points distributed between Associated/Implicit Skills
**note: Implicit skills are skills associated with a type of training but did not take primary importance (i.e. was not what was used in the 1d20 + X formula). For example, molding chakra will give +1 Chakra as the primary bonus, but the only implicit skill in that case will be +Chakra Control. Implicit skills may NOT receive more than +1 to each.
Stat points distribution for Jutsu learning...
Same as for training guidelines, except this is done separately for each Jutsu Stage.

Penalties System I insisted on draining myself to 0 Cp If you fall to 1 Cp, you should be doing resting posts. It doesn't matter if you want to recover to full Cp before continuing or preferring to use that 1 gained Cp, recover it again, and then use it again... Just do not fall to 0 Cp. Here is a tidbit most ignore in the Game System.Quote: Effects of Cp depletion If your Cp reaches 0 you will fall unconscious, and if you reach -10 in chakra points you will lose your life. As this is the smallest of transgressions, you will only lose your Quality Check Bonus entitlement. Keep in mind time changes will restore all lost Hp and Cp.
I did something totally out of focus for the training or mission Graders are required to read all training applicable. We are real people, with very busy lives, and do not appreciate spending a long time reading through work that don't meet the cutting standard. Just as rewards are generous, penalties may be just as harsh. You will receive a 0 if the majority of your training or mission has nothing to do with the purpose.
HELP! I got a negative Exp reward! Yes, that might happen to you. Relax, the grader is just really annoyed. You must've done something incredibly ridiculous. If it is comforting, you may translate that as a 0, until you fix the training as appropriate.

Then in the order that shinobi can take what types of missions...
ANBU/Sennin - Templar Jounin and Above - Priority, High Security Chuunin and Above - Handling, Government Genin and All - Search and Find, Care

Say you want to do this S-ranked mission.
Investigation: Priority Target Commissioned by the Juugodaime-regent with the approval of the Supreme Council. There is a certain dangerous figure who have been terrorizing our village security lately that I need you to look into. Information is scarce regarding this character, but a lead have been obtained by our interrogation team. You are to travel to the location and thoroughly investigate the area. Bring back any clues if you can. Proceed with caution. There is the possibility that this may be a trap, therefore I am sending a medic along with the team. Requirements x1 ANBU squad
Tracker Offensive Sensor Defensive x1 Medic-nin Rewards 520 Base Exp
**note: The Information Center will explain more about how teams are built.
Say you get a reply from the Hokage once fulfilling the mission stipulations (convincing a medic to come along, having a full ANBU team)...ProtoXtreme Excellent work. Permission granted as Team Captain. I'll leave contact with your team members to you.
[ To the Honourable members of the Special Assassination and Tactical Squad [ A N B U ]
Senju Ran, more infamously known to us by his claim to be our Lord Senju Zephyr's elder brother. The target appears around eight to ten years old, standing at a height of approximately 4'9''. There is no known photo of the target, so the following included is a photo of Lord Zephyr as a child [in his favorite reversal Henge of the Senju method]. The target is confirmed to have a high mastery level of Fuuin and is very dangerous.
The land that was inspected had traces of Amaterasu fires that was contained in unique foreign seals. The target's accomplice is a Uchiha whom successfully acquired all the hidden abilities of the Mangekyou. Captain, you may recall at the closing of last summer, Chief of Hyuuga family Yokou was discovered to have incurred peculiar fatal injuries. At first the cause of death was confirmed to be a katana but further inspection proved the wound was made by Lady Hyuuga's own Kusanagi sword when Yamanaka Inechi reviewed her memories. Target's companion's special abilities are confirmed. Be very wary.
Do not engage.
You are to confirm only if their hideout is indeed in the location spoken of by the target.
By the Order and Commission of Nara Shikamori, Juugodaime-regent
Direction of Travel Shikijima Island [Country of Water] From Konoha 2 mission duration days Briefly Long held in suspicion by our intelligence, Shikijima was rumored to be one of the locations of the secret Kusa Laboraties during the time they were obsessed with bloodlimit recreation. Nowdays, it appears to be a peacefully deserted island filled with wild-life. I want you to examine the island, but be very wary, because the target has mentioned to his companion of returning there and there is the possibility of encounter.
Approved Visa Duration 14 mission duration days, return before expiration Climate Semi-tropical, sometimes rainy. Recommended Equipment Antidotes to various serpent poisons.
Do not reveal this to your teammates until final mission stage. If they have decided amongst themselves on the research stage for the mission to bring that along, that is excellent then. ]
You will have 1 RP day to do this mission, as according to the village clock. In the mission itself, that will roughly be equivalent to 14 duration days. Think of how you would want to divide those duration days as according to the village clock (with five time changes per RP day).
Send me the weather once you decided the above number. You may further divide this into morning and evening if you wish.
Later in this mission, you may send me NPC profiles for approval when you are ready. A reply may look like this...ANBUCAPTAIN Understood regarding preparations.
I have a request as to climate, since it's island weather, may I consider the weather as relatively stable unless due to sudden rains? Here is what I am considering:
Temperature Constant 97 degrees Fahrenheit during mornings and afternoons with very little fluctuation. Evenings may become as cool as 84 degrees Fahrenheit. Relatively stable with the exception of sporadic heavy rains.
Effects Heavy moisture in the surrounding air. 10% less chakra cost in casting Suiton-based moves. 15% less chakra cost in casting Suiton that directly uses the ocean waters. Stable conditions confirmed.
I would like that for the whole length of the mission as I see there's no purpose in further weather division. The final reply before you are allowed to open up a mission may go like this.ProtoXtreme That's a rather large chakra save. I'll ok it for now as your only Suiton user doesn't know any appreciable number of techniques, but if it leads to your team breezing through an S-ranked mission, I will reduce the bonus. Hope that's understandable.
Go ahead, open up the thread. Setting Up Mission Threads
The arrangement of missions thus is from the tertiary sub-divisions as you see on the pyramid. Before we work on what each sub-division would require, let's look at how a mission thread should be properly set up. This is for the convenience of not only your participating members, but the graders as well. A mission thread should have...
The title of the Mission Mission rank A brief outline of the scenario Your client The team captain The team members
Then supplementary stuff...
A month long calendar Where you went [country and village if applicable] How long it will take to get there The environmental setting The temperature for each RP day of the trip [morning, afternoon, evening] Any environmental effects for each RP day of the trip [must be approved by the village leader] Any item deemed necessary in accordance to the environmental effects [deemed by village leader whether it made sense how prepared you were - you will sometimes have the opportunity to buy it if you don't have the item]
Only the Team Captain should make the thread, for their own editing purposes. A mock thread might go like this...k o n o h a g a k u r e ▬▬ ▬ Investigation Priority Target

Direction: Country of the Water Traveling: 2 mission duration days Location: Shikijima Island Environment: Long held in suspicion by our intelligence, Shikijima was rumored to be one of the locations of the secret Kusa Laboraties during the time they were obsessed with bloodlimit recreation. Your Team Sensei is not to confirm what the Kage says should be brought along as equipment until the third and final stage of the mission. That's when he or she is allowed to post it up.
Before then, the team captain should substitute "TBA" temporarily. Usually, it is up to you and your team to decide collectively whether or not such an item is necessity in the research stage. Generally, you can buy missing items later. In this case, unfortunately, a deserted island won't have local salesmen and if you didn't think to prepare beforehand, it's too bad then.]
Date Started: Summer 02 [June 18th] Visa Duration: 14 mission duration days beyond Konohagakure lands as approved by the Supreme Council. Return before expiration date. [1 RP day as counted by the village clock has five time changes. 5 RP days as counted by the village equals to one season, or ninety days approximately. This leaves 1 RP day by the village clock as ~18 seasonal days, or as we'll call it for reference purpose "mission duration days". That means for this particular mission, the amount of time you have to do it before it's suspended is 1 RP day (rounded up). Or about half a month in real time (three real life days approximately per time change therefore 15 real life days per RP day).
I hope that is more than ample time before I deem a mission as unfinished. Obviously, there are exception cases for emergency lengthening of a mission's time.
In other words, Visa Duration talks about in terms of mission duration days, not RP days or real length time. When the players are back in Konoha, say this mission starts on the beginning of Summer 02 and will go to morning of Summer 03, the players return back reflecting that they had been gone for exactly the length of the according to their mission stipulations (14 days in this case). They may renew their visa and head out again if necessary.
To keep track, you are suggested to make three mission duration days pass with each time change in the village clock. I don't really care how you manage your time, as long as you are back by the max number of RP days you are allowed to be outside the village.]

[color=white]XX[/color]29 [color=white]XX[/color]30 h i n o k u n i ▬▬ ▬ Now in conclusion, an idea of what kind of how many parts each type of missions should divide into and what sort of DCs you should be aiming for. More liberty does not mean more room for abuse.
Each part should either aim for a minimum of 10 successes or a total DC if you want to set it (that all the team members work together to achieve) unless specifically stipulated. As these DCs may have the aid of complementary skills, Team Captains might put the DCs as higher if they see fit to make the mission more of a challenge for your sake, as that also means more of a reward.
Search and Find E -> D ranked Part 1 - DC 12 This is where you will do the searching. Part 2 - DC 14 Complications in the retrieval section means more experience points. For example in the case of mine supervision, in the case of a collapsed mine, after the searching you will have to get the people whom are trapped safely out.
Care E -> D ranked Part 1 - DC 12 Preliminary work may involve taming the animal you are trying to take care of. Or in the case of gardening, the headache that comes discussing with the client to get an idea of exactly what they want. If you are supervising the mines, why would they listen to someone so young when they are probably not that well-paid and angry? What skills are you trying to develop? What skills do the mission demands that you need to develop?
Part 2 - DC 14 Here is where you may try to befriend the animal or in the case of gardening, working on checking over your work to make sure there is nothing missed. If you are supervising the mines, think, might there be some fights that break out which may require diplomatic tact?
Handling C ranked Part 1 - DC 15 Here is the part where you do research on your client after you receive your mission. You should divide with your team members on who researches the land, who researches the local weather, what you should prepare, and etc. Part 2 - DC 14~18 This is when you actually meet the client. You may get along with the client, or, you might not. This is up to what your team decides. The standard successes should still be applicable. You may interweave this part with your traveling posts. Part 3 - This is where it becomes wholly up to your team captain in handling and executing this part. Your team captain will work on profiles to which he or she may or may not request your aid. Feel free to work with them, finalized approvals will be going through the Kage anyways. This may include sketching out potential conflicts with people or shinobi you will meet along the way.
Government B -> A ranked Part 1 - DC 15 Government is very important! No matter how mundane it may seem. You will spend Part 1 pretty much training for your task and learning the proper workings of the system. You are encouraged to help each other, especially if this is the first time handling major village work! Part 2 - This is the part where you actually carry out your task. When you are uptaking a mission of this type, the Hokage will PM you back the DC you are to aim for proper credit based on your character profile. Missions are meant to challenge. Part 3 - This part will also be assigned a DC on the uptake of the mission. Here you might check over your work, or possibly, notice things missing. You might have decided all the mathematical calculations mean the foreign product should get a tariff to encourage domestic sales. Things like that.
By this point I expect you to know how to run a mission. The following would have very simple suggestions.
Priority A ranked Part 1 - Research the target. You may visit the village protected archives, or do whatever is necessary. Just follow the standard rules for how such types of research should be conducted. Part 2 - This may be short or long depending on how well you work with your teammates or how coordinated. You are required to interact, basically, while building up diplomatic skill and skillfully conveying meanings to each other in as little words possible. When on foreign land, you are not going to have the luxury of using your everyday speech. Part 3 - This part likely will be the traveling to the area associated. You might be accompanying a high profile leader. There may be some fickle issues of trust, think of how you may use this as opportunity to build certain skills. Part 4 - This part then will be where the actual mission is carried out, or otherwise, brought to completion.
Similarly to the above...
High Security A -> S-ranked Part 1 - Standard research. Part 2 - Here is where you interact and plot with your teammates on what to do. Part 3 - Preparations, or training to complete the task if necessary. Part 4 - This part then will be where the actual mission is carried out, or otherwise, brought to completion.
Secret or "hidden" missions will also follow general four-part S-ranked mission style as aforementioned. But it is subject to change because Templar sub-division missions would be styled and overseered closely by the Hokage.
Templar S ranked Part 1 - Standard debriefing and research. Part 2 - Discussion and preparation for the journey. Part 3 - The actual journey. Part 4 - The capture or doing your part as a guard of the Hokage's embassy.
