Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 10/15][Alternate Time] Shiro wiped his forehead with his arm, the cloth of his sleeve soaked up the sweat that had accumulated on his forehead due to the hot summer weather and his own frustration with his current training. Now down to his last weapon the boy was still only at ten points. He was about to finish his first round of throws it was mathematically impossible for him to reach the halfway point. This is pathetic! I can't even finish a simple a target practice exercise. he thought to himself as he readied his final weapon to be thrown. This is such a pain. Why can't I just be amazing at throwing kunai and shuriken like I am with jutsu training? It was a rhetorical question of course since even a young child could tell that people were just better at one thing than another. Shiro took a deep breath as he pushed aside the frustration that was currently welling up inside of his mind. Since he had done so poorly so far there was really nothing else that he could do except for just getting this round over with. The young academy student gave little effort as he just flung the shuriken down the range towards the wooden dummy. With a little but of luck the shriken collided with the wooden dummy and actually stuck. He hadn't hit any of the target zones but at least it was worth a point. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. They're expected to aim for 31 total points. 1 - 5 = Miss 6 - 10 = Just hit (1 point) 11 - 15 = Stomach (2 points) 16 - 19 = Head (3 points) 20+ = Heart (5 points) Formula: 1d20 + Attack Ranged (3) = 23 (Nat 30) Training: 21/31 points

Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 11/15][Alternate Time] With his ammunition now depleted the boy had no choice but to recollect his weapons before continuing the training. So far his results had been dismal but fate was a fickle thing. Why, why does it have to be so hot outside today? he complained to himself. The heat was quite atrocious and it made training just that much more difficult when the body had trouble keeping cool. As shiro removed each one of his weapons he studied the places where had been hitting the targets but the information afforded no help. Since collecting his weapons had provided a break in the training session the young academy student also realized that now would be a good time for a drink. Since he didn't have to worry about anyone else throwing weapons down range the boy simply plopped down and uncorked his gourd. The cool water inside the gourd brought a smile to the young boy's face as it saturated his mouth with water. The liquid provided a desperately needed relief from the heat and after he was done with taking a drink Shiro put the cork back into place. With a renewed sense of vitality the academy student walked back to the firing line and prepared himself to resume the training. Sine he had started the previous round with kunai the boy decided to begin this round with his shuriken. With the shuriken placed firmly in hand the boy took aim and let it fly. Perhaps it was the result of a much needed rest or just dumb luck but the shuriken flew true and hit the bulls eye marker in the center of the heart zone. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. They're expected to aim for 31 total points. 1 - 5 = Miss 6 - 10 = Just hit (1 point) 11 - 15 = Stomach (2 points) 16 - 19 = Head (3 points) 20+ = Heart (5 points) Formula: 1d20 + Attack Ranged (3) = 20 Training: 26/31 points

Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 2/15][Alternate Time] Shiro's jaw almost dropped to floor as he eyed the wooden dummy. No, there's no way... I couldn't have... could I? After such poor results in the previous round the boy could hardly fathom the possibility that he had actually hit the bulls eye of the wooden dummy. This possibility required further inspection. The young academy student walked down range so that he could get closer to the dummy and make a hands on inspection of the hit. After closer inspection his disbelief was somewhat eroded but he did keep the possibility that he could be under a genjutsu in mind. Well I guess that I did hit it. he admitted to himself. With some doubt still lingering in his mind Shiro walked back to the firing line and pulled out his second shuriken. With the weapon held firmly in hand the boy took aim at his target and held deathly still. His chest slowly expanding and contracting as he forced his breathing into a certain rhythm. When the moment was right the boy allowed himself to throw the shuriken down range at his target. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 3/15][Alternate Time] The shuriken spiraled rapidly as it arced through the air on it's way to the target. The weapon sunk one of it's four blades into the wooden structure of the dummy. Shiro looked on as it seemed to shadow the previous shuriken due to the way the light shined on the dummy. The hit wasn't a bull's eye but it did land in the heart zone netting him another five points. That throw had brought him up to twenty-six points which meant that he was now only five points away from his target goal of 31 points. With the intent of pressing his advantage Shiro pulled out his third shuriken and took aim at the wooden dummy. At this point another heart zone hit would end the training exercise. Mimicking his previous throws the boy did his best to throw the shuriken exactly as he had thrown the previous two. Initially it appeared as if he would be able to finish the training with that throw but with the way the weapon spun its arc was thrown off resulting in a deviation of its course. The shuriken ended it's path with a collision into the stomach zone of the wooden dummy netting him an additional two points. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 4/15][Alternate Time] With his previous throw netting him an additional two points the boy had brought himself up to twenty-eight points. The end was now clearly in sight as Shiro only needed three points to reach the target of thirty-one points. With this in mind he prepared his fourth shuriken. Though he wanted to throw the weapon his body was shaking uncontrollably. The pressure to succeed was weighing heavily upon his shoulders. The young academy student had to wait and take several deep breaths to force his nerves back under his own control. Luckily this was a training exercise, for there was certainly no room for error in battle. Once the shaking from excitement stopped he readied his arm once more and took aim. Without giving his nerves a chance to act up again the boy threw his shuriken. Now it was in the hands of fate. Shiro looked on as the shuriken flew down range and impacted on the wooden dummy. It was very close but he had hit the head target zone. That throw netted him three points and brought him to the exact amount of thirty one points. With the the target value reached Shiro grabbed his things and left the area. [End of alternate time] Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Tsuyoshi Kujikeru Lvl: 30 HP: 480/480 Cp: 900/900 MHp: 450/450 Tsuyoshi made his way from the library to the meadows with the intent to begin learning some more jutsu. He really didn't know why he hadn't done so previously; although he knew quite a bit of Genjutsu, he didn't really know that many ninjutsu. It was definitely time to rectify that situation. He hoped that he would have a great deal of privacy in this area at this time of day, and with any luck he wouldn't end up setting the area on fire. Then again, he was going to try and learn fire element jutsu. He knew his chakra was of the fire element, as was to be expected from a ninja in the land of fire. Sadly, he had never really seen if he could actually do anything with it due to his training with genjutsu. Of course, he hadn't bothered to do much research as to how to use fire ninjutsu. But he was reasonably smart and he figured that if he experimented enough he could manage to master it. Besides, it wouldn't be very helpful if his jutsu were exactly the same as everyone elses; it would make him less dynamic and thus more likely to get killed. Common jutsu never boded well in battle. Sitting down on the ground, Tsuyoshi pulled down his headband so that it was no longer covering his mouth. He began taking deep breaths, trying to focus his chakra within himself. He was reasonably certain that the only way to make this work was to create the flame before it left his body, since once it was outside of his body he had no control over it. It was much harder than he had first thought to do this; it had been so long since he had done anything else buy genjutsu with his chakra that it was like trying to remember how to ride a bike after years and years of not seeing one. He still had some concept of how it was done, but he wasn't a hundred percent certain he was doing it right. Regardless, he focused the chakra into his chest, imagining that he was using his body like a container. If he could manipulate his chakra there and make it ignite, he could then begin working with it so that he could project it outward. But that was all speculation; Tsuyoshi had no idea what it would do once he actually got it to ignite. 5+50 = 55. Success! Tsuyoshi Kujikeru Lvl: 30 HP: 480/480 Cp: 896/900 MHp: 450/450 After a minute or so of focus Tsuyoshi could feel the chakra welling up inside him. He could feel it shifting around in an almost fluid form, like it was wet clay just waiting to be sculpted into something by him. Igniting it proved much more difficult; it seemed that although Tsuyoshi was primarily a fire element user that he was not exactly sure how to innately make it become flame. It didn't help that he wasn't sure what would happen once he actually ignited it either. The last thing he wanted was to set himself on fire internally. Then he'd be known as the idiot jounin that managed to barbeque himself from the inside, and that would probably make him the joke of the village. At least if that happened they might make a psa about what not to do with fire element chakra. But he wasn't going to let that happen. The chakra itself was still his, and he was still quite good at manipulating it in the ways that he usually did. What he didn't know was how to make the chakra become fire. He would have thought that it would have been reasonably simple, but it turned out that the process was more complicated than he had first imagined it to be. He was able to make the chakra ignite in very tiny bursts, the way a fire almost started with a few sparks when making a campfire. But the chakra as a whole didn't catch the way he wanted it to. It just fizzled and made him feel like he was wasting chakra. Maybe he wasn't doing it right; or perhaps he wasn't committing enough chakra to the experiment. It was also possible that his innate fear of immolating himself on accident was keeping him from creating the effect he wanted. Regardless of the reasoning, Tsuyoshi needed to figure something out fast so that he wasn't wasting all of his time here. Work still needed to be done, and this was not the only technique that he wanted to be able to master this year. He didn't know when he would get called out for a mission, but he assumed that his days without work were rapidly coming to a close. He needed to make sure that he was prepared, and fast. Time waited for no man, no matter how prepared or unprepared he was. Katon: Hibashiri (Fire Release: Running Fire) Stage IRoll: d20 + Chakra Control (+50) CP Cost: 4 DC: 32 Successes: 1/8

4+50 = 54. Success! Tsuyoshi Kujikeru Lvl: 30 HP: 480/480 Cp: 892/900 MHp: 450/450 Someow Tsuyoshi managed to focus his chakra again without setting himself ablaze. He could feel the chakra inside him, still moving around at his command, but it still wouldn't catch. He was closer than he had been, considering he was now able to make very small bits of the chakra he manipulate change into fire style chakra. But overall, this was a tiny fraction of what he assumed he'd need to do for the technique he had in mind to work. The entire point of the technique was to confuse anyone he was fighting. After all, he was primarily a genjutsu user. Knowing that, anyone who fought him would not expect him to be using ninjutsu as well. That gave him the small edge of surprise that he would probably need in a tough situation. He didn't plan to use this technique as his main form of attack; rather as a last resort if his genjutsu failed. The last thing he needed was to only have one way to attack an opponent only to find that it was ineffective. He released the chakra he was holding so that he could refocus himself. Perhaps if he started fresh he'd have more luck turning the chakra into the elemental form he needed it to be in. He once again moved the chakra into his chest, using it like a drum to hold it in and focus it. He tried to force it to change, to become part of the fire element. It worked slightly; the chakra began shifting in such a way that it did in fact become at least a quarter of what he wanted. But it still wasn't enough. It was barely usable, and his focus was shaky at best. Tsuyoshi was glad that he had a great deal of chakra available, or this would be rather hard, neigh impossible, to complete in a timely and efficient manner. For the moment he contented himself with the notion that he was indeed making progress and that he wasn't going backwards on the whole. As long as he kept up the pace he was going, he would at least finish today, or perhaps tomorrow morning. As far as he knew he wasn't going to be sent on any missions in the next day or so, so he didn't have to worry about rushing himself to get this fire element chakra working perfectly just yet. 11+50 = 61. Success! Tsuyoshi Kujikeru Lvl: 30 HP: 480/480 Cp: 888/900 MHp: 450/450 Finally Tsuyoshi felt like he was getting somewhere with this fire element chakra thing. He had managed to make half of his focused chakra take on the fire element. Of course, that left half of his chakra that wasn't changed, and that meant that he wasn't done quite yet. He still had a ton of work to do, and he wasn't exactly too happy with that. If anything, he wanted to get this done right, before he did something to get himself killed. He released the chakra he had been holding, since it was only half transformed, and tried to start again. It wouldn't do to keep working with the chakra he had, so he decided to focus his chakra again into his chest, trying to stabilize it there before he decided to transform it into fire element chakra. This time, his attempt was more successful, at least, he thought it was. The chakra seemed to catch a bit more easily, and he felt the chakra he was holding becoming less neutral and more attuned with fire. He was amazed he was making rather quick progress, seeing as he was basically using trial and error to make this work. At this rate he'd probably manage to get this part of his training down by the end of the day, maybe a bit sooner if he found a shortcut or something. Still, the issue of not blowing himself up was still there. He wondered why he was even worried about that considering it was his own chakra he was using. Even so, it was more that he didn't know what he was doing, and he felt like he was trying to learn about anatomy by performing surgery on himself. Still, the chakra he was molding was barely anything compared to the total amount of chakra he had. Tsuyoshi was thankful he had trained for years to get as much as he had; if he ever got this down and released all his chakra at once, he could potentially create a large explosion, or at least a lot of fire. But that would mean that he would be using his chakra recklessly. It could really get him into trouble if he used it like that. But it would be rather impressive... and quite powerful if used correctly. Maybe he could use it in a way that wouldn't use up all his chakra, but have the same effect. It was something to consider. 19+50 = 69. Success! Tsuyoshi Kujikeru Lvl: 30 HP: 480/480 Cp: 884/900 MHp: 450/450 Surprisingly enough, this experimentation with his fire chakra was going quite well. Amazingly enough Tsuyoshi hadn't lit himself on fire, and he hadn't managed to blow himself with his genius idea of using his body as a container for his chakra. Normally this wouldn't have been an issue for him, but because he was experimenting with fire element chakra it was something to be wary about. Regardless, he was making quick progress with his training, and he was shocked at how simply it was to attune his chakra to the fire element. In fact, it was so simply at this point that he wondered why he had never bothered to do it before now, even on accident. The biggest problem wasn't the transformation of the chakra, it was the ability to maintain it. And then there was the issue of transforming large amounts of chakra at once. So far he had been able to use small, manageable amounts to get what he wanted done. The problem then became holding onto the chakra before it burnt out or got away from him and dispersed. However these were minor problems, and they weren't anything he wouldn't be able to iron out in the long term. There was nothing that said that he had to do this today, or even finish it within the week. He might have wanted to do that, but his needs always outweighed his wants. Tsuyoshi continued working with his chakra, trying to move it around inside him. This was normally quite easy, but the manipulation of fire element chakra was not something that seemed to be made for moving around inside him, He guessed that it would be quite damaging outside in combat, but he would first make sure it was completely safe for him to handle. So far it seemed to be just that, but then again he might be wrong and actually get himself killed with this little experiment. He still wasn't sure what he was doing or what he was going to do with the chakra once he mastered it; the technique he could use could take any number of forms depending on what he wanted to do. Or it could take a form he wasn't even expecting when he tried to actually do anything with it; fire was notoriously unstable and unmanageable; anything could happen once he actually released it if he wasn't careful. 9+50 = 59. Success! Tsuyoshi Kujikeru Lvl: 30 HP: 480/480 Cp: 880/900 MHp: 450/450 Thing seemed to be getting easier for Tsuyoshi, much to his surprise. He was not expecting to be figuring this out as easily as he was. Sure his technique wasn't exactly perfect; if anything it was crude and rather unwieldy at best. But it was obvious that this wasn't something that he couldn't deal with on his own, and he was quite confident he would have the worst of the problems worked out before long. Then again, things had ruined his plans before, and there was always the chance that he might screw up and set himself back a great deal of time. He wasn't exactly around a lot of other people; if something happened he didn't know the next time someone might come out and find him. And then there was the chance that if he was found, he might be a charred corpse by then. He wasn't exactly sure how his chakra, when attuned to the fire element, would react if he lost control of it. Most likely it would go out of control and burn, like any other fire would if it was uncontrolled for any period of time and exposed to a fuel source and plenty of oxygen. That was probably what made is so much easier for Tsuyoshi to focus; he didn't have many other options other than to succeed. He manipulated his chakra rather easily, and shifting it so that it was attuned to the fire element was a piece of cake; now he just needed to work on holding it and manipulating it once the chakra had been converted. On one hand it was like manipulating regular chakra, but on the other it was a bit more unstable and harder to keep under control. He guessed it wasn't meant to be held in for too long; chakra like this was probably meant to be thrown out and allowed to go wild. In essence, that was what he was thinking of doing with this technique; it would be quite interesting to see how his chakra reacted once he felt confident enough to let it out of his body. Then again, it might also be dangerous, considering he was in a field, and nearby was a forest. He could imagine that the hokage wouldn't like to hear about how Tsuyoshi managed to set the leaves of the leaves ablaze with his training methods and practices. 11+50 = 61. Success! Tsuyoshi Kujikeru Lvl: 30 HP: 480/480 Cp: 876/900 MHp: 450/450 Surprisingly, Tsuyoshi's training was going remarkably well. He wasn't dead yet, he hadn't set the village on fire, and he hadn't run out of chakra. Sure he hadn't gotten his manipulation down perfectly, but he was willing to call it a win regardless. After a while one had to just get over the problems you had and keep moving regardless of the consequences! But at the moment he felt he was nearly done with his training, and he felt that before long he'd be working on the second phase of the jutsu he was trying to form out of dumb luck and guesswork. And really, that was what he was actually doing; he was experimenting with his chakra, trying to make it attuned to the fire element for a purpose he hadn't adequately determined yet. He assumed it would be ninjutsu, but then again, there were all kinds of weird jutsu of any element. It wasn't going to be genjutsu, and it probably wasn't going to be taijutsu since Tsuyoshi wasn't exactly fireproof. As such, the question was what form it was actually going to take. Would it be a missile attack? Would it be close or long range? Perhaps it would be something he over formed? Or maybe it would be underformed. There were just so many choices and so many options. But for now he had to work through the last few problems with his chakra. It was proving to be a wily beast, which made things a bit more complicated. Still, he was rapidly getting it under control, manipulating at his leisure. Or at least that's what he thought he was doing anyway. The problem was that he was really holding back so that he didn't actually risk hurting himself or overusing his chakra. After all, he had a great deal of it but it wouldn't do for him to be wasteful. Experimentation was all about being able to do as much as you could before you had to rest, since that would waste valuable time that you could be using to learn things or do more experiments. For now, Tsuyoshi would indeed work with his chakra more to do more experiments, in order that he might manage to actually accomplish something. He was almost ready to declare himself able to manipulate his fire element chakra, and once that was done he could finally move on and actually work on trying to make a jutsu. 13+50 = 63. Success! Tsuyoshi Kujikeru Lvl: 30 HP: 480/480 Cp: 872/900 MHp: 450/450 As far as Tsuyoshi knew, things were going quite well! He was starting to really understand how to manipulate his chakra in such a way, and he was clearly understanding how to use this fire chakra. It was a wonder he had never tried to use it before, even after he that he had it. It had just never seemed like it would be useful in the past; he had always used his genjutsu more than anything else. If this was teaching him anything, it was that he needed to branch out. Maybe after this, train his physical strength or a weapon or something. There was just so much that he hadn't learned yet it seemed! He continued manipulating his chakra, taking into account its every ebb and flow, and enjoying how it felt on some level. It was simply great to learn something new. Perhaps it was his problem of being the middle child that made him always want to do something that was impressive. Or maybe it wasn't that. Maybe it was the fact that for once he wanted to learn something to make him stand out. And yet learning to use fire chakra in a place that had lots of people that could use fire chakra made him look as common as ever. Heck, he had made himself a career as a person who didn't stand out and who mimicked others. Perhaps this was just his way of taking that one step further; now he was learning their techniques as well. Tsuyoshi continued to manipulate his chakra, pushing it from one end of his body to the other, moving it along his chakra meridians like a master. Well, he wasn't actually a master, but he was at least competent enough to not be a rookie at using his chakra. In some ways, he prided himself on how much he had; jutsu's had always been his area of expertise. He might not have been physically strong, but he was fast, and he was good when it came to working with what he knew. This exercise was really just to see if he could do other things he didn't know with any kind of skill or talent. Probably not, but it didn't hurt to try. This was just the first part of what was going to be a much more complicated technique, so he wouldn't assume that his current success guaranteed his continued progress. Natural 1. Automatic Failure. Tsuyoshi Kujikeru Lvl: 30 HP: 480/480 Cp: 868/900 MHp: 450/450 Everything had been going fine for Tsuyoshi; so far this training was pretty basic and mundane. Or it was, at least until he got a bit complacent and screwed it all up. He suddenly belched fire, as his chakra got out of control and his was briefly unable to maintain focus over his fire chakra. He didn't exactly put more into it, but he also didn't have the chakra he had now lost. He always hated wasting chakra. It wasn't much of course, but it was more than he wanted to have lost. oh well, you had to break a few eggs to make scrambled eggs. Or something like that anyway. He grasped the grass and used it to pull him up, taking note that he hadn't manage to set the area on fire with that little mistake, nor had he managed to burn his own lips or teeth. Or turn them to ashes. Or give him any injuries that might give him cause to go to the hospital and get chastised by random nurses who hated the fact that he paid no attention to personal safety. In fact, they probably expected him to be there regularly. But all of that was rather irrelevant for now; had to get back in the saddle in order to see the grass that was browner on the other side... or something like that. It was an easy process to manipulate his own chakra so that it was a form that was easily manageable again. That was the benefit of using so little chakra for this experiment; he had a ton more that could be used as he went along. Hell, he probably could have messed up a thousand times and he still would have had chakra to use. Then again, his body might not exactly survive a thousand screw ups if the first one made him burp fire. Knowing his luck one of the screw ups would probably cause him to blow a hole through part of his body, or set his body off like a powder keg. Neither option really sounded appealing. Regardless, he continued manipulating his chakra, letting it catch again as it shifted into the elemental form that Tsuyoshi wanted. It was rather boring right now, but it was necessary. Actually, the idea of shooting fire from his mouth gave Tsuyoshi a rather interesting idea when he came to think of it... 17+50 = 67. Success! Tsuyoshi Kujikeru Lvl: 30 HP: 480/480 Cp: 864/900 MHp: 450/450 Finally, he was done! Sure, it wasn't any great success, but Tsuyoshi thought that it was! He had managed to manipulate his chakra flow so that it was actually of the fire element, and that was great! Even if that was something most chunnin or genin did really early on. Like always, Tsuyoshi was late to the party. Really late to the party. Like show up a week after the party kind of late. But again, it didn't matter. Tsuyoshi stood up to stretch his legs, lamenting that he probably endangered himself by surrounding himself in highly flammable grass. Not to mention the highly flammable trees and bushes and animals and other things that Tsuyoshi was probably forgetting about that would get him in trouble with the Konoha top brass if he ever manage to start a forest fire on accident. Hell, he'd get chewed out by the hospital attendants if he ever managed to get set on fire himself; they'd probably even take special glee in tormenting him while he was there. They usually seemed to. Then again, his family probably would too, complaining loudly that he needed to be more careful or something. Just what he needed. Tsuyoshi shook his head, wondering what he was supposed to do next now that he had an idea of how to use the fire element chakra. Although he had figured out how to use it, he had not yet decided what he was going to do with it. It was like the number zero; there were infinite possibilities with what he could do, and yet most of them boiled down to him throwing fire at people and hoping they'd burn. For a genjutsu expert, he really wasn't that creative. On top of that, he didn't have any idea what form the fire would take; depending on how he was able to manipulate it, it could take any number of forms. Tsuyoshi began wandering around in circles, wearing the grass below his feet down as he moved. He had no idea what he was planning to do or how he was going to get to a point where he could come up with a plan, but he didn't care. He'd figure it out eventually, once he was done monologueing to himself and wandering in circles. He was kind of strange that way, in the laziest and stupidest way possible. It'd work out. Somehow. Or maybe it wouldn't. Tsuyoshi really had no way to know. But then again, he was ok with that. If he had learned anything during this training session, it was that fire was really likely to be useful in an offensive manner. It wasn't genjutsu, but it would be good if his genjutsu failed. He had heard other ninja talk about working with fire to do area of effect attacks and making animals out of the flames and whatnot; it was all really showy and not his style at all. Tsuyoshi liked simple but effective techniques that could get the job done without wasting chakra or time. It made things that much harder when what he was working with seemed more likely to make giant firecrackers and bombs than darts or blades. He tried to get his mind back on track; he had plenty of time to think about what he was going to do with this technique. For now, he just looked around, tried to relax for a brief moment, and center himself so he could really get going on the next bit of training. The technique was far from done and he only had a limited amount of time before something pulled him in.
