_____________Background Story

As the Sephira War ended and cleanup of the Seireitei began, the Shinigami and inhabitants of the Soul Society slowly began to trickle back into their home over the course of several months. By the time several months had passed, the Soul Society completed repairs and continued to fight off hollow, struggling between the two duties along with their others. Many things that had been put on hold, like proper funeral services and reports from the Liuetenant Commander to the Central 46 were finally underway, one report of which called for Hakase Hei's trial for forcing Hollowfication upon Hibiki Kirisho. He was sentenced to imprisonment, but his contributions to the Seireitei and removal of the Captains' hollows powers granted him a lessened sentence. Sentenced to the 2nd level prison "Mōjū Naraku", Hei said his goodbyes to his family and was imprisoned there, but not before reversing the Vizard Captain's Hollowfication.

Meanwhile, Tetsunosuke, suspected to have aided in the death of Suzume, as well as the escape of Jacques and Neida after Yori turned over Jacques book to Kazuhiko, was imprisoned in the same level of the prison. Likewise, Kōdo was imprisoned in the first level for a few months after desecrating Shiruba's corpse by kicking it into the river.

With Hei gone, Tsukiko was once more forced to take up the position of acting 12th Division Captain, a task she accepted graciously though with small amount of worry considering she was not aware she had done it in the past and was afraid she'd fail. This worry, on top of both her parents being gone began to put a mental strain on the girl, causing her to become unfocused and belligerent towards others. Unlike before, Tsukiko did not enter a self-destructive rage spiral, but instead became sulky and inattentive, overlooking details that she would have noticed in her sleep, and neglected to eat sometimes. As time passed, she stayed later and later at the labs, locking herself in to hide herself from the rest of the world, embarrassed to be seen. Her new, erratic behavior sparked attention by her newfound friend, Nu.

In an attempt to help out, Nu shouldered her friend's workload while insisting that Tsukiko rest, leading to an unavoidable erratic sleep pattern in Nu, who in turn became more irritable with Lee, whom she had been getting close to over the years. Lee, noticing something is wrong attempts to tend to her to no avail, unsure of why her condition is not getting better. In a final bout of determination, Lee traces the source of Nu's problems back to Tsukiko, whom he soon discovers is this way due to Hei being locked up. Even though several months had passed since his imprisonment, Lee still felt like he was to blame for Nu's condition, wanting to find any way to put the blame on the man he hated.

As time continued to pass, Lee's own mind began to eat away at itself, causing a lack of sleep in him and making him generally unfocused. One day, a few months after this chain reaction began, Lee allowed his feelings to get the better of him during a training session, and upon a backfire of two of his most powerful, forbidden spells, he inadvertently and unwittingly created a rip in the space-time continuum. Without being aware of what he had done, he left the problem to stew, treating it as a minor mishap, and went about his daily life, still in a slump about everything. By this time, Kōdo had been released, but has been stationed in the Human World, tailing Zenos Athanasius as he scoured the Human World in search of his sister.

As the weeks flew by, this rip grew wider and wider until one night, a white-robed, masked creature appeared in the middle of the Seireitei under the cover of darkness and began spending it's nights sauntering around the Seireitei, continuously degrading the fabric of space and time. It went noticed by a few, but these witnesses could not provide credible proof and were believed to be drunk, so the issue was never looked into. Gradually, more and more of these creatures began to appear until all of a sudden, there were ten or more roaming the Seireitei.

_____________Setting

It has been about seven months since the Seireitei was taken back, making it May and warm outside, although the evening has cooled it down a few degrees. The setting is all of the Seireitei after hours; a normal day of finishing repairs and regular duties has ended and while most lower seats are on patrol, the higher ups are getting ready to sleep or are finishing up their tasks for the day.

As Taigaa has asked of you all, you are to provide a location in each post. It MUST be outside the body of the post.

_____________Story

At first, everyone will be where they would be to prepare for the night. However, the first person to post --whomever that may be -- gets the privilege of having their RPC notice one of the creatures. Upon noticing it, he or she will attempt to engage it, and send out others to alert the captains of the intruders.

_____________Information

I've noticed in past arcs that everyone seems to posses the ability to sense others immediately, because that's usually how we believe Reiatsu sensing works. Contrary to that, most of the Captains in the SS arc were unaware of the intruders until they were told. So, with that said, I'd like to avoid having every single RPC suddenly know exactly where one of these creatures is and go right to it. Be creative; send your RPC out and have him or her bump into one of them or have your RPC get lost or something. My point is, not everyone should be automatically aware of where to go right away unless the NPC Shinigami your RPC talks to is a direction wizard.

Also, the above information for background is strictly for arc development. Like always, you can write whatever your character was doing during that time. If they noticed something amiss in the aforementioned individuals, that's fine, but be reasonable. Obviously if someone doesn't know a character very well, they likely wouldn't notice, and obviously no one should be aware of the creature's origins.

_____________Terms

  • Avant-garde (Vanguard)
A race that was created due to Lee's mishap, the Avant-garde are beings whose very presence degrades the fabric of space-time over the course of several months. The Avant-garde appear to be large, white ghosts with pink pin-shaped heads. They have the power of Chronolock, which allows them to exist outside of space to the extent that their bodies do not sustain damage no matter the cause. They can take a hit, such as being cut or burned to ashes, but their solid form always reforms. This power, while appearing similar to regeneration, does not require internal energy to function, but instead relies on the fact that the Avant-garde exist outside of space, and thus, exist outside of the capacity to sustain damage.
    • Mild Chronolock
Any damage the Avant-garde takes is dealt and then reversed, no matter how severe.
    • Suicide Bombing
Their only form of attack, the Avant-garde can detonate themselves to cause a medium-sized explosion. After a few seconds have passed, they will reform once more and be prepared to detonate again.
    • Duplication
After detonation or severe destruction to their body, the fallen Avant-garde will be reformed and accompanied by another. This is similar to how a Hydra replaces it's heads, but instead of two new ones, there's only one new one and the restoration of the original.

  • Intemporel (Timeless)
A group of elders that come from a distant universe, wielding the ability to reverse any damage they receive to their person by altering their own time. Before Lee's mishap, this race did not technically exist, but after the Avant-garde got loose and bent Space-Time to create them, the time stream altered itself to create a lengthy history for these creatures, designating their home planet in a distant universe and establishing a sense of past in each of their minds. As such, they come to the Soul Society familiarized with each other, bent on taking over the Soul Society as next on their list of universes to dominate and races to enslave. Alongside their goal, they have a hidden purpose for taking over the Seireitei.

Kougji Bushūgi

Division Four Captain

ourney o ore

The candle light flickered softly as a cool breeze hit Kougji's office suddenly from the window open in his office at the west side. It hit Kougji at his desk as he was finishing up his daily paperwork, to which he had been far behind, even though for the past three weeks he had been working day and night attempting to amends for his lack of activity. The hand to which he was holding the writing tool was beginning to fail, a small blister appeared near his finger tip, he set it down and stretched back in his chair, straining his neck backwards in order to get the full affect. Leaning back in, he glanced at the window directly ahead of his person, he saw that the sun had gone to bed and realized that he had lost track of time quite badly. He stood and gathered his papers into his hands, shuffled them and tapped them slightly on his desk to straighten them properly. He walked over to a tall filing cabinet, opened it and placed the papers inside, closed it then turned around and headed towards his offices only other seating, a musty old couch that hadn't seen tender love in a very long time. Sitting himself down in a lazy manner, he let his arm slink over the arm, hanging helplessly on the edge. "I don't think I can ever get used to this, no matter how much time passes." He let his left hand slide over his entire face in an attempt snap him back, he was exhausted, it was time to call it a night he thought, he was just being careful not to slip up, Haru had been watching him like a hawk lately, to do anything that might give his own Lieutenant a reason to doubt his abilities was not something Kougji was planning to let happen, but with how thorough Haru was, he was starting to believe that this task might be harder than first anticipated.

Kougji left his couch, in a very tired manner, he put out the several illuminating elements in his office and headed for the door. As he closed it behind himself, he locked it then leaned against it, looking up into the sky a blazing moon returned his stare, it was somewhat menacing in fact, for some reason it didn't hold it's usual mystical impression tonight, shrugging it off as mere fatigue, Kougji continued off towards his quarters, the night was growing more and more distasteful to him, late nights made him feel different, like a growing pain in his stomach. His quarters came into sight, the old beaten door that he himself had made after a few frustrating occurrences with some pranksters, Kougji always seemed to take out his anger on the door, and yet, even though it broke off, he was able to put it back so easily, good quality? At least he thought so. Entering into his quarters, Kougji saw the nice neat are in which he prided himself still intact. He decided a bath and then perhaps tea, even was overtired and he wouldn't be able to fall asleep straight away at this point, he needed something to help him relax.

[Left Office - In Living Quarters]

The room was full of steam as Kougji was finished bathing, he wrapped a very fuzzy robe around himself and left for his small but warm sitting area which was nearest his bed. He sat himself down and placed a small round badly worn cup in front of him, taking the tea pot, which had been steeping since he got in his bath, he poured out the liquid into his cup, it let off a hot aromatic smell throughout the room, taking a large inhale, Kougji sunk lower into his seat, it was just what needed in order to relax, in order to get back the state of calm he so readily desired. Kougji was taking small sips of the delicious, whatever it was, he had forgotten what tea it was, even the taste didn't do well to remind him, he was far too tired, even though it wasn't incredibly late in the night, Kougji was still beaten down by the immense work he was left to do, he hadn't seen his Lieutenant for quite some time, several days, which Kougji had suspected he was being tested, for the millionth time, he knew Haru wasn't going to warm up to him, but he wished that the Lieutenant could give him a break for at least a week, in the past months it had been ongoing trials, he'd have to put a stop to it eventually, it wasn't like he was just starting out any more. "For another day."

Kougji slipped out in a slur, he was prepared to go to sleep in that very spot, but that simplicity soon left when a faint noise rang outside, his left eye opened slightly to it, he groaned, the last thing he wanted to do at this point was move, but he couldn't ignore someone possibly about to try and pull another funny on him, or whatever else it might be, he tended to not leave anything unchecked, except more personal things in his own life. Kougji releuctantly stood, he passed by his bed, yawned then picked up his sword, moving swiftly but slightly weighed down towards the door. As he opened it, a cool rush of night air caught him and he sneezed. "I better not catch a cold, or whoever is out here is not going to be walking away looking very pretty." His face became hard, eyes slanted to the sides, mouth slightly gaping, his stride odd, either leg being lifted into the air higher than it normally should be, indicating his annoyance. The sound brushed past his left side, he turned, nothing was there, but it had gone in the direction towards the back of another building next to his living quarters. He raised an eyebrow, were they trying to scare him? Kougji was actually easily frightened, but tonight, this wasn't the case, it wasn't going to be easy to catch him off guard with such primitive tactics, you aren't supposed to let the person hear you or notice you at all. Kougji took his time as he made his way to the side of the building, only barely letting his head tilt around the corner to see, he felt nor saw anything, he figured they must have made their escape around another twist or turn, now it was getting fun.

[Left Living Quarters - Outside In Fourth Division Grounds]

Jotting down the alleyway type space, he turned around another corner, noting was present but he didn't stop, continuing on, he felt as if he was on a hunt for treasure, of course, the prize would be the severe beating the person or persons involved would be getting. He was still only a building away from his home when he was about to turn a corner, as he was doing so, he heard something behind him, a gust of wind, he turned, he was met with a sight most unfamiliar, a tall white creature stood before him, it gave Kougji the impression of a hollow, but it was different, it was far different. It seemed to float there with a darkening presence, he was frozen, unsure of himself for a split moment, however, grabbing again his own senses, he jumped back and unsheathed his blade, still only in his plain white yukata. "What are you?" Kougji voiced, not expecting an answer from the creature, more or less feeling he needed to vocalize his thoughts at this time, he wasn't in a good state to fight something incredibly strong, if in fact this thing was. And of course, it didn't respond to his question, grimmacing at the sorry state in which he was prepared for battle, Kougji knew he had no other choice. "Not talking then? Fine. But doing so may have saved your pathetic life." Kougji rushed in with a powerful swing of his blade, cutting deep into the creatures neck, he turned to view his attack, the gash stayed for a moment then vanished, reverting back to being untouched. The creature turned towards Kougji, it didn't aim to attack, but Kougji now felt as if he was on the defence. "What is this thing." He rushed again, doing a flash step mid attack, appearing in the air, he came down on the creatures back, attempting to cut it in half, once again, as Kougji distanced himself, the wound was gone, as if he had never attacked.

Kougji's face bore an expression of disbelief, he couldn't imagine anything being able simply stand an attack like that, he didn't try to block avoid or defend itself in any way against his advances. As Kougji planned his next move, the creature suddenly bolted towards him, Kougji was caught off guard, and before he could do anything the creature exploded, a massive destructive path sent Kougji flying into a building, destroying several buildings in the surrounding war path. Kougji was laying in rubble, slightly concious, enough anyway to see that the creature was no longer an army of one, there were two now standing against him, as his vision was blurry and he could only make out their shapes, they both seemed to vanish, Kougji unable to detect where either of them went. Kougji was in bad shape now, but, as he was the fourth division Captain, he used a secret medicine hidden under his skin which allowed him to regain health in which he could stand, though still very winded. "What the hell was that?" He spoke to himself, now realizing that this situation was far more serious than he could have ever guessed when he left to see what goings on where taken place in his division. He knew he had to communicate this quickly, whatever they were, they'd be multiplying like crazy if all it took was an explosion. Rushing back to his quarters, he dressed quickly, there was no time to waste, it was then that a knock came to his door, opening it with caution and with his sword drawn, he saw it was Moji, a lower seated officer in his division. Relieved, he smiled. "Captain?" The weary man said after being awoken by the explosion. "What happened?" "No time to explain, you must take an urgent message to all the Gotei 13, no time to waste, we have intruders in Seireitei." Moji became alert at once. "Right captain!" He headed out straight away. Kougji didn't even have time to tell him to be careful. "This isn't good, I need to get to Kazuhiko." After strapping on his sword, he headed out as well, going to the first division.

Hibiki Kirisho
- Squad Nine Captain -

================================================

User ImageThe gods trembled
The demons flocked

The day has ended and the sun has already descended from its lofty throne and in its place rose the moon, already nearing the sky’s summit. Soul Society is still a mess, and though repairs have made it much more hospitable over the past seven months, the scars from the nearly year-long war with the Sephira was still present, and it seemed it would take the rest of the year before they would be able to fully recover, and this applied not only to the buildings and infrastructure upon which this organization, this community, was built, but also to its denizens, officers and soldiers alike. The blood that was spilled on the field, the tears shed on the grave, and the sweat that filled our everyday lives since that fateful day has been a harrowing trial for all of us, more so for others.

Letting out a sigh Hibiki ran his left hand through his white, ragged hair, scratching the back of his head as he put his pen down and closed his journal-- as he simply refused to call it a diary. Rubbing the bridge of his nose before moving on to massage his temples, Hibiki stored the small black leather-bound book in his pocket and pulled out a pile of papers from across the table. Placing it directly in front of him, Hibiki gave his pen a twirl before he resumed his work, taking a sip of coffee after every 15 minutes or so to keep him awake. The speed at which the captain wrote was simply unreal, the paper was on the verge of being ripped apart as the metal etched across its surface, words and sentences appearing in the fraction of a second. All around him were five to six piles of paper; the one he was handling was more or less the seventh and last batch. Since the destruction of his office, Hibiki has made it a point to have each and every document photocopied at least six times, and stored in different locations across the squad’s area. Needless to say this has been a tedious and grueling task, nightmarishly so with the theft of the printing press, and the shortage of funds.

”Captain.” came the sudden voice, causing Hibiki to stop his writing and look towards the person addressing him. Near the door stood one of his staff members, Kanta ”Hm? What is it, Kanta?” asked Hibiki, leaning on his chair as he took another sip from his coffee ”Ah, captain, I’m just here to ask for a leave absence this week.” responded the man, a bit nervous as one week of absence certainly seemed excessive ”It’s just that my wife is expecting to give birth this week, and I kinda wanted to be there for her, you know?” the staff member shifted his eyes away from Hibiki, expecting a stern reprimand from the strict captain. However ”Ah, that so? Alright, good luck to you both then.” came the nonchalant response, anyone from his squad would expect to hear from Hibiki. Taken aback by the unexpected kindness, Kanta could only smile and thank his captain profusely, before leaving his office after Hibiki dismissed him, claiming he had to finish his work. But, after the man left, Hibiki simply stared out towards the forest from his desk. His mind drifted into unconsciousness as a stream of memories rushed across his vision, muddled faces and haunting sounds, with one voice beginning to rise from the tide, uttering his name.

But before he could respond to the dream, a loud explosion woke him from his slumber. It woke Hibiki with such a shock that he knocked the cup of coffee from his desk, thankfully however it was made of plastic, and Hibiki had already emptied it. A bit groggy, Hibiki wobbled for a second or two before he managed to pull his senses together. Getting up from his seat, Hibiki rushed towards the door, running into Kanta as soon as he exited his office ”Captain Hibiki!” came the sudden voice, again, this time having a more urgent tone ”What’s the matter?” Hibiki asked him, fully awake despite the late hour ”Sir, urgent news from the 4th Division. We have intruders in Seiretei.” came the ominous report ”Again?! Damn it, I thought they patched up the defenses after that Fullbring incident. Alright, you and the other staff members lock up everything and get on standby, assist in the other squads like the 4th Division when they ask for it, alright?” Kanta nodded, and ran off towards the barracks as Hibiki sprinted towards the Senzaikyuu, guessing that was where the other captains would most likely head towards as well. He already had Kazeoni by his side, which saved him some time. Along the way, he caught sight of Captain Bushugi, the 4th Squad Captain who had most likely sent out the urgent announcement ”Captain Bushugi!” Hibiki called out to him, using shunpo to arrive closer towards him ”Where are the intruders?”

[2nd Division Barracks, Captain's Office]

From deep within the second division barracks, more specifically, the Captain's office, deep snoring could be heard. The perpetrator would be of course, the captain, and of course the reason is; fatigue. It had been weeks now since the ragged captain had any amounts of sleep and it would be clear to anyone who stopped to see her. Her hair, clothes and appearance, usually strict and always presentable, has seen better days as her workload only continued, not helping her attitude any. She had no time to deal with silly rumors spreading about about mysterious creatures roaming the streets. She had already labeled it as some childish scare the parents were telling the children as a scare. Due to a particularly loud cricket from the outside, Nu awoke with a aggressive stir, her head jerking up as her eyes scanned the room for the source. Finding none, she stared at the last pillars of papers before groaning and beginning to pick up her pen to finish. As her hand began signing various documents and legal forms by instinct, her sleepy eyes drifted to the lone picture on her desk, framed and stood close for her to stare at whenever she wished. In it, it depicted Lee and Nu, with the woman much better dressed and Lee smiling, a rare sight in itself. Not a woman who believed much in relations, with exceptions with him, the various men and women of her Division were much too curious in their understanding of her relationship with the other Captain. By now, she could openly say to herself that she was in a actual relationship with Masahi Lee, and that alone made her smile, though it pained her at the same time as she stared at the workload.

It seemed too soon when she had to escort Hei to her prison. Though she knew eventually the law would catch up to him after the mass chaos the battle started, she had hoped it differently. For starters, she had hoped Yuki would have awakened by now because without both parents now, Nu had found out that she would be responsible for the daughters left behind, Senka and Tsukiko, and as if by divine providence, it seemed Senka has woken up, letting the Captain retort with a deep sigh as she rises from her desk. In all honestly, she wished nothing better to do then be like Senka and sleep whenever she wishes to. The strain of being a pseudo parent/ captain was catching up, and it was already affecting her lovelife. As she was walking towards Senka's crib, her mind drifted to Lee and a sigh escaped her. Seems these days, because of her lack of sleep, she was very on edge, and she hated the way she was avoiding Lee because of it. What the woman would do if she could simply stop working for one day and be with him, stay in his bed, and do everything she could to apologize for her so many nights without being near him. Instead, she does everything she can do avoid the man seeing her like this, and when she is forced to talk to him, it always ends in heated arguments, usually for trivial things. It was just making her so tired......and sad.

As she took Senka out of her crib and cradled her carefully, her head turned out the window to the Twelth Division barracks, and the woman had to wonder how Tsukiko was faring these days. She wasn't a robot anymore, and since becoming close with the small girl, she was doing everything she could to assist with Tsukiko, which involved filling out her daily paperwork so she could be alone in her lab, though that hardly wasn't helping. Having her parents "away" of sorts was hitting the girl hard, now to the point of reclusing herself in the labs, doing who knows what, Knowing her, Nu was sure she was in there again, and after she was done with the combined stacks of files and Senka, she had to remind herself to get food ready to force down Tsukiko's mouth. She could handle the extra work, she could handle taking care of Senka and dealing with Twelth Division members and hearing out their issues as well as her own Division's, but the least Tsukiko could do was make it easy for Nu to feed her.

She let Senka down on her lap as Nu continued on and trudged through the work, finally getting down and signifying it with a loud yell of victory, which only seemed to annoy Senka and she played with Nu's breasts. It was enough to jolt the tired woman back to some life as she smiled lightly, directing the girl's hands away from her new "playthings." Letting the girl sit her butt on the desk, Nu slowly put her head down on her desk, the picture of Lee and her together close-by. She wanted to get up and run to his room and just cuddle with the man. She wanted to get up and make Tsukiko a warm meal and talk with her for hours, as they used to before she started her all nighters. She inwardly wished she could clone herself and experience all these things, but she was just one woman, and she was tired. Instead, she prayed Senka understood depth perception and was brisked away to a deep nap, a hard day's work finally completed.

[Seven Months Ago - Ugendō Forest]

It didn't take too long for her to find a place for them to stay. She had darted across the lake and then entered the spaces between the buildings near the edge of it, and lead Kuzumi into a dense wooded area just behind them. "Ah, this looks nice." She said with an odd amount of glee in her tone; Kuzumi did not share the same sentiments, but if Emi was happy, he'd deal with it. Looking off into the distance, the thought of the ring got into his mind and he turned around to ask her something, only to find out she was some feet away, going deeper into the wooded area. "Oi!" He dropped Emiya's bag, the one she had left at the apartment and plodded after her, following the girl until she paused at the wall surrounding the area. "See? Nice and safe." Beaming, she turned around to face him, then noticed his face was less than happy. "What's wrong?" Emiya reached out, taking his arm in her hand reassuringly while staring into his eyes; the afternoon sun cast them in darkness from the shadow of his bangs.

"I-I wanted to ask you something." Quirking an eyebrow, she dropped her hand to her side and waved him off carelessly while turning her back on him to scan the area. It wasn't that she didn't care, it was just that she thought setting up camp was more important. While her back was turned, he rummaged through his pocket, tugging the black felt ring box from it. "Oh sweetie, can't it wait? I have to figure out what to do for food and stuff, I can't rely on anyone else for that because-" Emiya stopped short when she felt his hand grab her her wrist; he was being awfully forward, she thought maybe he wanted to make out or something. She was prepared to whack him for being inappropriate, but stopped dead in her tracks when he spoke. "Hiiragi Emiya, will you marry me?" She was frozen in place, hardly unable to believe what he had just said. Her mind was racing, but her heart was soaring in the clouds to a place where logic and facts meant nothing. Still in stark disbelief, she turned slowly around to see him kneeling on one knee, holding out a ring box and clutching her wrist with the other hand.

Inside the open box was a stunning diamond set into a gold band, it looked expensive, too expensive for a high-schooler to purchase; Emiya figured her father had something to do with it. "Eheh... I was going to ask you before we went home, but it looks like that's going to be delayed for a while..." The incredulous look on her face made his heart sink, she was going to say no, he thought. "I-I'm sorry, forget I said anything. It was too soon, what was I thinking." Chuckling nervously, he stood up and released her hand as he snapped the box shut before staring at the ground in embarrassment. In silence he stuffed his hands into his pockets and turned to walk away, but didn't get far before he felt 135 pounds of teenage girl bearing down on his upper body, forcing him to the ground. He let out a loud shout as he struggled to stay on his feet to no avail, it was so unsuspecting that he couldn't brace himself.

He fell over with Emiya on his back, manging to prevent a face plant with his hands, and was soon flipped over by a rough hand and stared up into Emiya's soft, smiling face. "Yes. Of course I will." Tucking her black locks behind her right ear, Emi leaned down and planted a kiss directly on his lips before touching her forehead to his. "Don't apologize, I was just really surprised. Really, really, surprised. I thought you weren't ready, what happened?" Kuzumi felt as though a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders, the weight on his chest was enjoyable and a different story. He stroked her arm, then fished the ring from his pocket, and with her assistance, slipped it onto her finger before moving his hands to her lower waist. "I just... had a change of heart. I can't explain it." His nervous laughter caused her to laugh along him until they were both laughing together, loudly enough that they didn't hear when Rei approached from behind through the wall until it was too late. The two looked her direction and in embarrassment, Emiya sat straight, eying the woman. "Who are you?" Her face flushed down to her neck from being discovered in this position, she glanced back to Kuzumi, who shrugged. "A guide. Your stay here has been approved and I am here to take you to your new living quarters." The girl seemed so serene and had no hints of malice within her, so much so that Emiya could find no reason to not trust her. Not to mention she had brought good news, so that was always a plus. "Well, I was going to camp out here..." Despite the woman's sincerity, she really didn't want to impose on this place anymore than she already was. "Not to worry, one of our own has to stay away for a while, so you can stay in his quarters. Come." The woman began walking off to their right without another word leaving the engaged couple to each other's incredulous looks. "What do you think?"

"I dunno, I don't see why not..."

"It's fine with me." Emiya hopped off Kuzumi, then helped him to his feet before retrieving her bag and walking beside her new fiancé as they followed the woman to their new living quarters. It was an arduous trek, quite a bit longer than they had been expecting, but worth it in the end when they arrived in front of a gorgeous Japanese-styled house in the middle of a dense forest and located next to a swiftly running river. She was beside herself, quickly trying to take in all of it's splendor in a single instant. The only thing bad was the hole in the wall, which caught Kuzumi's attention the most; it was quite out of place. "Oh, it's just magnificent. We can stay here?" Emiya whipped her head in Rei's direction, but saw that the spirit was gone from sight. She exchanged confused looks with Kuzumi before they strode to the house, hand in hand, and entered through the hole in the wall so that they could settle in. It wouldn't be too long afterwards that several Shinigami came by to clean the house for them and repair the hole in the wall.

[Present Day - Kōdo's Quarters]

The end of the day found the engaged couple in their room, their borrowed room to be precise. Although the house had been stunning out the outside, it was boring in the master bedroom, leading to Emi taking some decorative liberties in there. Kuzumi was lying on his back on their bed as he watched Emiya unravel the bandages that bound her breasts to her body. The TV was on, and Emiya's attention was focused more on the strange prank show on it than the bandages themselves, causing her to undo them very slowly, much to Kuzumi's chagrin. "We've been here longer than half a year and I still can't get used to their TV selections. I mean, someone should do something about this guy before he pranks the wrong person." She turned to look at Kuzumi as the bandages finally dropped to the floor, moving her hands to her hips as she did so. "I've seen just how scary they can be. Remember that Hei fellow - eyes up here sweetie- I thought he was a really kind person, turns out he's scarier than our gym teacher. Maybe he's kind deep down, but- Kuzumi!" Again, she flicked her fingers upward, indicating that he look about six inches higher, but it was no use; his thoughts were deep into perverted territory. Shaking her head with a sigh, Emi left her skirt on and slid into bed, hovering over him and planting a kiss on his lips. "You're a dirty boy." She smiled, brushing his bangs from his eyes as she felt his hand move to her lower back, then descend inside the waist band of her skirt. It was a warm, safe feeling for his hand to be there, and she had gotten quite accustomed to it these past several weeks.

It wasn't the first time they consummated their love, the first had been after she turned eighteen a month or two ago. Unlike the souls residing in the Soul Society, Emiya and Kuzumi were simply Reishi-conversions of themselves, so they still aged normally. By the time her birthday had come around, she felt she was ready to give herself to him, so she did. This time around, they did not get too far when Emiya's emotions in the heat of the moment began to elevate, resulting in a chilling aura that began to fill the room that went unnoticed by her. She was kissing a line down his neck when she felt his hand pull from her waistband and move to her stomach to push her off. At first she was taken aback, especially by the look of discomfort on his face. "What? What did I do? Are you sick?" He quirked an eyebrow, then looked to the side to see that his glass was frosting over which he motioned her towards. "You're doing it again, Em." Emiya saw this and realized what was happening, then sat up to allow herself to calm down. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to. Now I feel stupid..." Kuzumi slid his hand up the length of her side, from her thigh to her armpit, then rested it on her cheek, giving her a shake of his head. Emi moved her hand over his, tilting her head to the side slightly as she smiled softly at him. "It's fine, just take it slowly. I'm not going anywhere." Nodding slowly, she took a deep breath and attempted to curb her emotions to retract the chilling aura. They sat in silence for few moments while the room returned to the normal, comfortably cool temperature the AC provided, but their intimacy would quickly be interrupted by a noise outside their door.

It caught their attention to say the least and while Emi slid off Kuzumi and onto the floor below, he sighed, knowing full well the moment was ruined for the night. He had to distract himself with other thoughts while Emi pulled on the button-up shirt from her uniform, slid into her shoes, and did the top three buttons before pulling the sliding doors open and stepping out onto the deck connected to their bedroom. Emiya's eyes scanned the forest around them, but for the life of her she couldn't make out anything in the dark. The forest was thick and they were quite a ways away from streetlights so there was none of that to aide her. For a moment, she stood in silence listening to the river before she stepped back inside and retrieved Yuunagi from the sword mount on the wall. "What's going on?" She shrugged her response and walked back out onto the deck as Kuzumi quickly followed her, stepping outside in time to see her activate Yuunagi and watch as she used the bright glow from the weapon to cast a light into the forest like a spotlight. It was then that she saw it, the source of the noise. It was a white-robed, red-masked figure that had emerged from the bushes not too far from their abode. Now it was slinking through the woods without making a sound as it passed over the stray twigs and dry leaves from the Fall before. "What the- go inside." He meant to protest, but he could already see she was dead serious, so he wished her good luck as she hopped over the deck's railing and landed directly on a stick that snapped in half and attracted it's attention. "Go!" She shouted sternly as it began to head in her direction at a quicker pace than it had been moving earlier. He didn't waste any time in following her instructions, and quickly stepped inside, but left the door open so he could watch her.

[Forest surrounding Kōdo's Quarters]

Emiya didn't waste any time going on the defensive, nor did she take the time to consider it may have been friendly. In a flash, Yuunagi was pulled from its sheath, and Emiya was taking the stance she needed to perform one of the new moves she had created during her training with Yori. She prepared by dropping into a partial crouch with both of her knees bent and her left arm drawn back and her right extended forward. Following this, she grasped the kashira of Yuunagi with her left hand and rested the tips of the fingers of her right hand on the blade near its tip. As the creature drew closer, she performed a quick step using Fullbring, and rushed at the creature while performing a quick thrust with the blade to impale it in the middle of its "chest." The electrical energy running through the blade superheated it, causing the creature to begin "melting" where it was struck before it split in half from it's head down to just below her blade. Emiya removed the blade quickly and stepped back, prepared to strike again, but was surprised when she saw that it began to pull itself back together- literally. "Well that's new." Quirking her eyebrow in an interested fashion, Emiya readied herself as the creature moved towards her once more. It was not human, that much was for sure; it was more fragile, yet had regeneration powers to boot. It was clear to her that she'd more power if she was going to completely obliterate this creature, so she began to walk backwards away so that she could take some time to gather more electrical energy than before, and also to draw it away from Kuzumi. She was pleased that it turned to follow her and for a moment she kept her eyes on it before Yuunagi was fully charged for using Shin Raikōken. Without hesitating, Emiya slipped forward on her right foot and cocked the weapon back behind her body before delivering a hidari-do to the creature's left hip which cleaved right through it's body and transfered all of Yuunagi's electrical energy into it, melting it's body into little more than a blob.

"Damn, not enough." To her surprise, not only did it reform like she expected it to, but a second one showed up from the same blob, causing her to take a step back in surprise. "Oh come on!" It was clear to her now that she couldn't do away with this enemy on her own, yet another reason why she needed more training. But if she couldn't kill it, she could always incapacitate it; it seemed dumb enough. As they moved towards her, Emiya lifted her hand as she began to charge her own body with static until there was sufficient enough charge for her transfer into it's body, which she did with a quick open-palmed punch to it's torso. She repeated the process for the second one and backed away quickly, and then turned into a tree and charged it with a charge of equal intensity but opposite polarity, which instantly pulled the creatures towards it and kept them stuck to it via static electricity. She knew she only had a few minutes before they would get free, so she quickly sprinted to their house and leapt over the deck's railing without wasting time thinking about the stairs. "What the hell are those things." She ignored Kuzumi's question, having no light to shed on the event, and pushed past him grabbing the bandages from the floor and pulling her shirt off over her head. She wrapped herself up in no time, then threw Kuzumi's shirt at him from the chair. "Put it on, you can't stay here. Something's going on and I need to know you're safe." She saw that he wanted to say something, she could see it deep in his eyes, but instead of letting him do so, she moved to his side, pressing herself against him. "Please. Just do it."

[Between Kōdo's Quarters and the 1st Division]

Conceding to his love's wishes, Kuzumi threw his shirt on, pulled on some socks, and then put on his shoes and was out the door with Emiya pulling him by his hand a moment later. He barely manged to catch a glimpse of the clock on the bedside table which read 9:21. "Quickly now." He almost fell flat on his face, because unlike a normal person who would have walked down the stair of their deck, she simply yanked him over the railing when he was not prepared to do so. He did not have time to get on her case for her carelessness because as soon as he righted himself, he was already being pulled towards the edge of the forest. For what felt like ten minutes they ran, and as she expected, not finding anyone in the streets save a few random Shinigami she had no knowledge of. As they ran by, she spread the word of the intruders, causing all of the drop what they were doing and move their hands to Asauchi at their waists, preparing themselves for battle. Kuzumi and Emiya quickly reached the 1st Division's area after several minutes, just in time for her to spot Hibiki and some other captain she was not familiar with approaching the Senzaikyuu, but they were still quite the distance away. She stopped abruptly, and held out a hand for Kuzumi to do the same. "I need you to go to the Hospital, that's where Shidōsha-dono is at, you'll be safe there." She was twitchy though, what if there were more, but talking to the captains was important too. The appearance of a few Shinigami at her side was sudden, but she recognize them as a few she had trained with over the past few months. "Ari-dono, Asuka-dono, Tetsuya-dono, greetings." She bowed quickly to those she deemed her superiors and on her way up she saw they were looking worried too.

"Is it true, are there intruders?" Her nod was all they needed, and Ari quickly grabbed Kuzumi by his arm. "We overheard your conversation, we'll take him to the Hospital for you. Stay safe!" Filled with gratefulness, Emi bowed deeply to express her thanks, and after a verbal confirmation to accompany it as well as kiss for Kuzumi, she vanished on the spot and ran towards the Senkzaikyu. She reached the lower levels quickly before changing the elasticity of the ground into something akin to a trampoline, and then leaping high into the air, she landed on top of one of the 1st Division's buildings. After catching her balance, she jumped off the building, landed on the ground below and actively sensed for Hibiki's Reiatsu. She found him a few yards away and ran out to intercept him; he was one of the few people she was comfortable with around here. Emi found him on the steps leading to the top of the Hill that lead to Kazuhiko's office, and slid into sight in front of the two captains before turning and matching their pace as they moved towards his office. She wasn't sure how much they knew, but it was clear they were aware of something so she decided to fill them in on what she knew. "I dunno what they are, but they're quick and they regenerate to boot and split into two when the damage gets bad enough. I sent Kuzumi to Shidōsha-dono for now. Is there any more to this situation that I should know about? I know I'm just a visitor, but I'd like to think it concerns me if even a little..." She glanced to the side, giving HIbiki a look, as if asking for confirmation of her being involved. "Hibiki-dono, and... I'm sorry, but I don't believe we've been introduced." Emi quickly averted her gaze, returning it to the street so she wouldn't fall on her a** like she was bound to eventually.

Sakura Yamamoto
Captain - Squad 8

[Captain's Office - 8th Division]
Sakura stood within her rather new office, having recently received the promotion to Captain. She now stood at the head of squad eight, a position she was happy with and that expanded upon her speed and hand to hand combat. Though she stood, still wishing, that she had got to learn some more from her former Captain, though it was too late to be thinking such thoughts. With a shrug of her shoulders and a shake of her head she pushed the thought from her mind and sat down at her desk. Being a captain now she had a lovely little thing called paperwork that she had to take care of and she wanted to get the ball rolling. However after only a few minutes she began to feel like something was watching her from outside her office, though she couldn't feel any traces of reiatsu or anything even similar for that matter. Even when the Fullbringer's were near they gave the feeling of some sort of presence. After a few moments of the feeling not disappearing she stood up and turned towards the window. Sure enough her feelings of being watched were right. A creature stood outside her window, it was featureless for the most part, having a very odd looking head. Sakura knew there was no way it was shinigami or human. So her only option for now was that it was a hollow.

"How the hell did a lowly beast like you get in here?" She placed her right hand onto one of her Katana and began to withdraw it from the sheath. "What the hell are you? You feel nothing like a Hollow, but you have the appearance of one." As she asked these questions she walked towards the door outside that was around 20 feet away from the window. "This is the last time I'm going to ask you." She exited her office and turned towards the beast, her sword fully withdrawn now. "What the hell are you?" The creature in front of her didn't even turn towards her as she exited her office and spoke to it. However after a few moments of her waiting for a response it slowly turned and then darted towards her. Within an instant she was standing on the opposite side of the window while the creature was in front of the door sliced completely in half. "If you had answered maybe you would have lived." However as she said this she turned to see the creature instantly reverse the wound, almost like high speed regeneration.

"What in the hell......" She trailed off for a second trying to figure out what was going on. But the creature lunged towards her again. "Hitoku." Instantly her swords changed into the dual bladed scythe. She then used shunpo to appear directly behind it with the back of the scythe aimed towards its head and a black sphere already formed at the end of it. "Shintō-sei no yami" Instantly the black orb shot from the tip of the scythe and hit the creature in the back of the head, exploding and completely decapitating it. In that instant the creature detonated itself, causing a huge explosion that ripped into her office and sent her flying backwards. 's**t..' She thought as she hurtled backwards. "This isn't good." Though she had sustained a fair amount of damage from the blast she rotated in the air so her back was no longer to the ground and swung her scythe downwards so it caught into the ground and rapidly slowed her, until she came to a stop and placed her feet on the ground.

"At least its dead now." Though no sooner than she finished her words the smoke cleared from the area where the explosion had happened, revealing two of the creatures in place of the one that had detonated itself. "Just ******** great....This isn't going to be pretty. Bankai" The scythe that was in her hand burst apart into a pure black energy that moved to engulf her body. After a moment the black energy moved to hover around her shoulders, looking like a black electricity crackling off of her body. Two small blades emerged from the palms of her hands with a black sphere forming at the end of them. "Yami-dama." She then instantly disappeared from where she was, appearing in the shadows of the two creatures with her arms crossed in front of her, either blade and sphere of energy aimed at one of the creatures. "Gyōshuku-dama." The spheres instantly condensed in upon themselves and then shot out, causing blasts even larger than what the creature had caused when it exploded completely eradicating the two creatures. However Sakura wasn't so sure, using her Shadow Step ability she instantly left the area, moving from shadow to shadow.

Kougji Bushūgi

Division Four Captain

ourney o ore

Kougji was heading quickly towards the first division, after what had happened, he knew he had to get this events happenings to the lead, it couldn't be delayed, Kougji had no clue what he had just faced, no idea what kind of creature it was, and if it could multiply like it did, it might just be a matter of time before this world was swarming with them, and he couldn't deny the danger the human world might be in, so many possibilities, so many things that can't be ignored. Kougji was nearly out of the fourth division when he heard Hibiki's call, stopping his quick pace he glanced to the man. "Captain Hibiki?" He said, slightly surprised that his message would have gotten out that quick, then again, Moji was like that. Kougji didn't answer Hibiki straight away, he turned his head to the side slightly, a little ashamed. "I don't know, I engaged the intruder when I found it near my division, but, I failed to harm it at all, it seems to have some weird regenerative power, it used a devastating attack and knocked me back." He still had horrible burn marks on his face. Kougji was unable to finish his statement when Emiya appeared, someone he was not formally introduced to, only seen on occasion. He eyed the girl for a moment behind his glasses as she explained what she had encountered. "No, I don't believe we have ever formally met, I am Kougji Bushūgi, Yonbantai division captain. It's a pleasure to meet with you." He too into account the information she had provided, it seemed she had faced something similar to himself. "It raises the question just how many are there in Seireitei, did you." Facing Emiya again. "Face the same as I? Or is there a number of them, and at this point, how many have multiplied from one body, it would seem physical confrontations are not possible, if we attack them we are only increasing their numbers." It was a puzzle, how then would they eliminate such threat. Kougji looked back towards the first division and continued onwards. "Nevertheless, we should report our finding and come out with a plan with the rest of Seireitei." The night was getting cooler for Kougji, this would be his first serious matter in Seireitei that he himself had been so involved in, and he was feeling the amount of pressure at this point, responsibility wasn't the key word. "What really bothers me is I couldn't sense any presence, the only way I found the thing was playing a game of hide and go seek, no spiritual sense at all." Kougji removed his glasses, and placed them safely into his robes. "If this is the case, what will Seireitei do." Kougji was speaking with himself at this point, thinking and rambling, trying to figure out what had just taken place. "Lets hurry." He said, not directly speaking with the other two. A sudden though came into Kougji's mind, Haru, his Lieutenant was out there, he couldn't leave him on his own, he'd have to report this and go and find him. The sight of the first division came into view, Kougji quickened his pace. "I hope that Kazuhiko is present." He said, knocking on the door, hoping to get this meeting over with as quickly as possible but with as much efficiency on the situation as possible.

Feeling:C l e a n
"Truth is simply a conception..."

Hideki sat up from his bed, looking to the window, its shades spread wide. The moonlight spilled in and gave the room an air of eeriness; it was his last day after though, and that alone made it better. Sliding off the bed, Hideki moved to the storage closet near the door and pulled out his Shihakusho and Haori out. He changed quickly and then grabbed Datenshi from the same closet and slid it through his Hakama-Obi in the back, moving his Haori back over it. He sighed out loud and stretched, "It has been too long in here. I feel so secluded. I need to check on my little itoshii." Hideki let his arms hang to his side covered in the black Haori as he slipped out from the hospital room. He moved his way down the hallway to a flight of stairs before descending them to reach the ground floor. On the ground floor, he ambled over to the front desk. "Can I help you sir?" Hideki nodded in response to the woman behind the desk, "Yes, ah-I need to check out please. That is all." The woman nodded and began to type a few things into the console in front of her. After a few taps of the 'enter' key, she handed a paper to Hideki for him to sign at the body. Hideki signed his name down and nodded softly before he turned around and walked to the exit.

[In front of Sōgō Kyūgo Tsumesho]

Hideki walked out into the cool dark weather, breathing in the fresh air as if it were his first, which is technically true. He squinted his eyes and looked around, trying to spot a certain somebody amongst the area. He then spotted, off towards the street that runs down toward his Division Quarters, one of his officers with a young child in his arms. Hideki's eyes brightened and he moved quickly to get to them. As he got near them, roughly 15 feet, the child began to turn, and when he approached, she was all the way around her arms flailing towards him. "Waga Itoshii!" Hideki's hands swiftly moved and cupped under her arms, lifting her from the officers hands, and pulled her close to his chest. "Waga Amane. How I missed you." Hideki lifted her to his face and rubbed his nose across Amane's before scrunching his face and laughing. She began to giggle and moved her hand to his cheek, moving it over it and occasionally grabbing at it. "O....O.....Oto..san."

The small phrase that Amane had just procured brought Hideki's face to joy. He pulled her close and hugged her before lifting her up and tossing her softly up and catching her. All the while, Amane kept laughing and giving smiles to her father. After a few tosses, Hideki held her on his hip and looked to the officer and then her, "Let's go home. Amane's probably hungry." The officer nodded and he and Hideki moved down the street towards the thirteenth division. Along the way, Hideki lifted Amane up to his shoulders and leaned forward a bit, so as to have her semi-sitting, semi-laying on his shoulders and head. Hideki occasionally pretended to fly with her, but the walk home was quaint. They simply walked towards the Northern Gate to get to the 13th Division and by the time they go there, Amane had fallen asleep on his shoulders.

[13th Division - Captain Quarters]

Hideki dismissed the Officer as they entered the barracks area and continued toward the back of the Division to reach his office. Once there, he walked over to the water laden path towards his actual room and set Amane on the middle of his bed. He sat and starred for a few seconds, surprised to see her growth, she was getting to be longer, and her hair was getting fuller. Amane had bangs, albeit they were short, but she had them. Hideki smiled and leaned over, brushed her silver, soft bangs to the side and kissed her forehead. "Sweet dreams, little one." Hideki then pulled back and moved to a small drawer and pulled a light, thin blanket and laid it over Amane. Once she was covered, he wound up a small tinker-box and let it play out into his room as he moved over to his office to get some paper work out of the way. It had been piling up while he was at the Hospital anyhow.

User Imagewoah! HELLO !
whats new? my name is...
...i cant remember... Tsukiko

●● "ℒux ex tenebris." ●●

1870

[Seven Months Ago - Sōkyoku Hill]

After kicking Yori off the side of the Hill and disappearing alongside her, Tsukiko grabbed her in mid air and landed on a rocky overhang leading to a vast cavern inside the Hill. It had been made by her parents long ago, and she had been shown it at some point in her life. She quickly carried the two women into the cave and set them down before standing back up and looking around. The first room was like a lobby, even equipped with marble floor and walls, but after that, it opened up into a well-light area with a roof painted to look like a cloudy sky over a floor of desolate, brown, craggy land dotted with dead trees. As she took in the sights, she experienced a strange feeling in her stomach, seemingly out of nowhere, causing her to grasp at her stomach in a childish attempt to alleviate the symptom. The next thing she knew, she felt like she couldn't breathe, and then her whole body began to tingle violently all over as she sank to the ground. Unknown to her, she was having a panic attack, a late reaction to the stress of learning so many new things at once, especially the news of her seemingly brand new sister.

As the girl's knees hit the ground, she felt like she was suddenly saturated with sweat, and she looked down to see that this was true, causing her to tug at her clothes in an attempt to get them off. By this point, she was red in the face and breathing heavily with short, labored gasps and pitifully attempting to get out of her clothes. Tsukiko did not make it out of them before her vision went dark and she teetered, falling to the ground with a thud and ceased to hear anything as she slipped into a state of unconsciousness. It appeared that her body, after being frozen so long, was unable to cope with the mental strain her emotions were dealing her, causing it to shut down in a last ditch effort to protect itself. The young girl awoke several hours later in a daze, her cheek pressed up against the ground and her mouth open with a trail of drool leading from it. Groggily she sat up, noticing that her clothes felt damp, and more importantly that there was something in her mouth. Tsukiko toyed with the foreign object stuck between her cheek and lower jaw with the tip of her tongue, screwing up her face in an expression of distaste, and when she finally got it to a good spot, she reached inside her mouth and plucked it from her mouth. The object fell into the palm of her hand, and now she could see that it was a tiny pebble; she flicked it to the side, then spat the lingering saliva from her mouth for fear there was leftover dirt inside.

It was at this point that she glanced around; alongside the realization of where she was, she also noticed the two unconscious Shinigami that she barely recognized. For all intents and purposes, the events of several hours ago in which she had kidnapped Eriko and Yori were gone from her mind and all that lingered was the foggy image of her father carrying a baby Senka. "What the hell happened to me?" Groaning, the girl stood up, nearly falling over before she caught herself, and moved over to Eriko and Yori to check to how they were doing with a rather personal inspection of their bodies. After confirming their good health -sans unconsciousness- she glanced at the hot springs several yards away near the open area used for training. "A bath would be nice..." Luckily for her, even now the hot spring was equipped with towels and as she took one from the stand and turned to the crystal clear water, she could already feel it's soothing effects. Her uniform was off in an instant, replaced by the towel and with a medium-sized splash, she landed in the hot springs, then surfaced to the top. After freeing her hair from the two ties she had it in, she slicked it back, lowered herself so that her nose was just above the water, and then began swimming around mindlessly before easing herself against the spring's edge and tilting her head back to gaze at the sky. Naturally, by this time her senses had come back to her and she was no longer the childish, immature brat she had been hours ago and was now a responsible, intelligent, yet somewhat childish little girl who wanted nothing more than to make her father happy.

Try as she might, however, she could not fathom what had happened to lead her to be here alone with two strangers. In fact, the only explanation she could come up with was that they had kidnapped her and she had beat the crap out of them before passing out from hunger, something she felt even now. Tsukiko was busy drumming the tips of her fingers on her forehead when she heard a sound behind her, and upon turning to see it's source, saw her father standing over Eriko and Yori, rousing them from unconsciousness through some unknown method. She then watched him instruct them to leave immediately, even though they had just recovered consciousness, and also forbade either of them to talk about what had happened. "Daddy... Wh-what are you doing here? More importantly, just exactly happened to me?" He approached her quickly, then knelt down next to her, giving her wet little head a reassuring pat. "I spoke to some people, and rest assured I understand everything now. Come sweetheart, I have many things to tell you, and they might not be pleasant." Blinking, the young girl took Hei's offered hand and was pulled from the bath while wearing a perplexed expression. She couldn't even begin to guess what he was going to tell her, especially not that she used to be a machine. Unwittingly, she gathered her clothes and followed him outside, then allowed him to carry her back to the Ugendō where she would have everything explained to her in full, excluding the fact that she had been married.

[Present Day - Arcane Science Research and Development Laboratory: 2nd Floor Particle Physics Laboratory]

Tsukiko was jolted out of her slumber by the sudden sound of a machine starting up next to her, and like always she found herself in a puddle of her own drool. Blinking the sleep from her eyes, she picked her head up off the laboratory table and wiped her cheek with her sleeve to rid it of her saliva. "Whuh happened?" Her words came slurred as she was still half-asleep, but her question went unanswered because it was drowned out by the machine next to her. Her gaze finally came to rest on the interactive hologram sitting in front of her, still displaying the fruits of her labor in trying to create a new source of energy; a new element to be precise. "Oh, right." Stretching, the little girl yawned and poked at the hologram, mindlessly moving the little glowing dots around while she tried to pick up where she had last been. Her thoughts drifted off to what had happened several months ago, when her father had taken her home to explain how she had died some fifty years ago and was placed into a machine and lived like that up until recently before being destroyed some months ago and reduced to a soul in a container. She was also filled in on how she had returned herself to her cryogenically frozen body, which aged to match the age of her soul, causing her to be reborn (in a sense) as a nine year old with the mind of a three year old. After that she had apparently kidnapped two Shinigami and then passed out. Suffice it to say, all of this information had come as a shock to her.

All of the thoughts about her father lead her back to thinking about how he was still in prison and how her mother was still in the hospital, both realizations only serving to frustrate her. In a fit of anger, she jumped out of her chair and flipped the table she had been sitting at over and across the room and into the micro supernova chamber at the opposite wall, pinning it against the wall for an instant before the table dropped to the ground. In the wake of her having thrown it were multiple machine parts scattered all over the floor, and if that weren't enough, everyone in the laboratory was staring at her in disbelief. "What are you looking at?! Clean that up!" At the top of her lungs, she yelled at them before storming out of the room, her anger quickly switching to depression. Tears leaked from her eyes and, sobbing to herself, she left the labs in a daze and found herself aimlessly wandering the streets under the moonlight like a drunken salaryman. She remained ignorant to the people around her, even Hibiki and Kougji whom she passed by on her roundabout path to the 2nd Division. They were ignored outright, her mind was settled on one of the last things she did with her father before he was imprisoned. He had presented a complex document to her, refusing to let her read it and coaxing her into signing, which she did after a moment or two of whining. Unbeknown to her, she had signed marriage annulment papers which rendered her marriage to Elisia null and void, as if it had never happened. It was for the best, of course; apparently he had even found and located Elisia on his own and made her sign them through some method.

Naturally she remained ignorant to all of that because he had decided not to let her learn about her marriage and had sworn everyone to secrecy regarding the matter. Her thoughts bubbling around this event, she eventually found herself at Nu's door, standing in the hallways outside her office while being stared at by a passing female. When she realized where she was, she let out a strange breath, one that is experienced after someone has been crying for a while and sank to the floor. She understood now that even her subconscious had lead her to believe that Nu was some sort of mother figure; maybe it was protecting her from the fact that her parents may never come back. Her head hit the door as she leaned forward, crying out her last remaining tears before reaching up to the handle, turning it open and quite literally falling into Nu's office. Her face full of linoleum and tinged with sadness, she sniffed mucus back into her nose and rubbed her eyes with her over-sized sleeves before crawling across the floor with her chin and coming to rest at the side of Nu's desk. There, she curled up into a ball and then uttered the only thing on her mind that she was willing to share with someone else. "I'm hungry."

Hibiki Kirisho
- Squad Nine Captain -

================================================

User ImageThe gods trembled
The demons flocked

”It has regenerative power? Perhaps it is a hollow of some sorts.” Hibiki commented, his fight with Zenos coming into mind as the Sephira certainly demonstrated the levels by which his race could regenerate. If this was indeed the case, then it would seem they were in for another war with Hueco Mundo’s denizens, a war, Hibiki believed, that neither of the two factions was ready for just yet. However, the captain’s train of thought was interrupted by Hiiragi Emiya’s sudden appearance. Hibiki was made aware of her and her lover’s continued residence in Soul Society, but he was still surprised by her sudden arrival. She had proven herself a skilled combatant, and though she was still very much human, Hibiki welcomed her assistance in this matter.

But, the news she gave them surprised him, regeneration was one thing, but if the creature could also multiply, then it would put it well above any hollow, arrancar or not, that Hibiki had encountered, and by the look of surprise on Captain Kougi’s face, it would seem he was not the only one. For a while he listened to the additional information the 4th Squad Captain gave them, and it seemed like the creatures became more and more alien with each passing moment. If they could not harm them, then the only solution left that Hibiki could think of was to put them in lock down, either in the 12th Squad or 2nd Squad, whichever of the two possessed the more suitable environments for the creatures. And if that was the case, then Hibiki could only think of one man for the job.

”Captain Kougi, I’ll let you and Hiiragi Emiya handle reporting the events to Lieutenant Kazuhiko. I’ll be headed towards the 5th Division. It seems directly attacking the creatures is not an option, as such, Bakudo, or any other method of binding is the only way to handle them, which is the expertise of Captain Lee.” with that Hibiki vanished from sight with a shunpo. Captain Kougi’s subordinates, as well as his, were already spreading the news about the intruders, thus, it would only be a matter of time before the other Captains were alerted. For now, all Hibiki could do was to inform Captain Lee of the situation.

Haru Mori
Lieutenant, Fourth Division
Sereitei, Soul Society

[Fourth Division Grounds]

Haru Mori, the feminine-looking lieutenant of the Fourth Division, was of course being really mean to his new captain, Kougji Bushūgi. Ever since Kougji was appointed as the new captain, Haru felt like the latter was "stealing" Elisia's, the former Fourth Division captain, original position. Haru also didn't like everything that had something to do with Kougji's physical appearance because he certainly didn't look the type to become extremely enthusiastic or responsible. It was quite strange though since Midori, his foster mother ever since his arrival at Soul Society, taught him that never "judge a book by its cover." Naturally, Haru thought the line itself was cliche but it was mentioned to him by his mother so he took it by heart. Another strange thing is that this rule seemed to have had ignored Kougji and that Haru was extremely irritated by his present captain's presence. And with that Haru left him at his own devices for several days now.

However, Haru had been coming to his senses these past few days. Somehow, he felt like he was neglecting his duties to his captain and that perhaps Kougji was needing him but was too timid (well, he did seem like it, too) to ask Haru. The lieutenant could swear that Kougji noticed his dislike of the captain. Perhaps, Kougji was too shy to ask for some help from Haru. It was quite sad, really, when Haru thought thoroughly all about it. He had been warm to Elisia ever since their first meeting and that she felt like a big sister type; she was the first person Haru felt like that to anyone. Maybe that's why he had been so distant to Kougji. Maybe that's why he didn't want to do anything with Kougji. MAYBE because he felt that Kougji was there to replace her from Haru's mind... or perhaps, heart.

And with that, Haru was now walking towards Kougji's office with a box of dinner for him. It was unusual that people brought dinner to other people's place at this late but Haru wanted to anyways; he always believed the line that it's "the thought that counts." Once, Haru heard a very strong explosion although he thought it was one of the freak experiments of the Twelfth Division perhaps. After all, the renovation of Sereitei was now undergoing. But this late at night? Haru doubted. Nonetheless, he proceeded to Kougji's office to bring him his "peace offering", so to say.

All of the sudden, Haru felt a soft movement from behind him. He immediately turned beet red when he heard it since a member of the Fourth Division would see him with food in his hands and going to Kougji's office; you might never know, people's mind worked in a terrible unpredictable way. Haru feared they might get the wrong ideas, after all ("What?! Mori-fukutaichō LIKES Bushūgi-taichō?!" one would perhaps say with matching widened eyes). So, he turned to his back, face red and all, and then pulled his food box behind him. When he turned however, there were no Fourth Division creepers or spies at all, Haru thought for a moment he saw a ghost of some sort and gasped in shock for a moment before he realized that the figure before him was much more than a ghost. His eyes narrowed when he scrutinized the entirety of the figure; it was white and had a ridiculously strong resemblance to those of Hollows. Haru have had a strong urge to strike it with his katana, if not his dinner box.

"Who... what are you?" Haru uttered, now having thousands of conclusions in his mind. And with every conclusion that he thought, the stronger the urge to pull his katana grew. Somehow, he found himself trembling although in fear or nervousness, he did not know; he just stood there as the figure made a single step. Haru followed it with a step backwards. "What... are... you?" He uttered again, his eyes becoming filled with horror. Kougji.

The dinner box dropped at the ground with a loud clatter and food spilled everywhere.

[13th Division - Hideki's Quarters and Office]

Hideki was doing paperwork in the utter silence of the night. The most he really heard was the sound of paper on paper and the soft, slushy sound of his calligraphy brush sliding on the paper. Occasionally Hideki took a drink of nearby Sake, which was not nearly enough to get him buzzed or drunk in any sense. He was around his last papers when his ears picked up some noise from his quarters. Hideki stopped writing and laid his brush down and slipped back in his chair. His eyes switched to XR-100102 vision mode, and as he looked past the barriers of wall, he saw some figure in his quarters with Amane. It was not incredibly close, but the northern wall of the room was warped. Hideki’s face scowled before he bolted for the room. He moved the shogi door that blocked the way to the small pathway to the room and then the second pair to his room, leaving them wide open. As he entered the room, he became a moving bundle of cloth as he crouched towards the ground, running to just 5 feet from the creature before jumping and turning mid air. His body would be parallel to the ground and the back of his legs to the creature before Hideki would slam his right foot back, straight into the creatures ‘sternum’ or what could be akin to where it should be.

The creature flew back with naught a sound, breaking through the wall. It simply stood to its feet and began to move toward Hideki, of whom had a perplexed look. “What the hell are you…” Hideki’s voice trailed off as his head turned to look towards Amane, still fast asleep on the bed. He smiled before looking back towards the creature. “ Bakudō Nanajūsan: Tozanshō! Bakudō Nijūroku: Kyokko! Bakudō Rokujūsan: Sajō Sabaku!” Hideki threw his finger back towards Amane and the Tozanshō formed around her delicate body then, just as it formed, the Kyokko wrapped around the Tozanshō, hiding both it and her from view and from being sensed. Hideki wanted to keep her from any harm that might happen. His last Bakudō was thrown towards the creature, of which it bound with little effort. It made it topple over to its side and attempt to stand. Hideki kept it from doing so by darting towards the fiend and grasping its head in his hand, his right hand at that – it had previously been gone – , and executed a shunpo to end up around 25 feet in the air. The moment he reformed, however, the creature made a strange undertone noise before exploding in Hideki’s hand. Hideki flew back from the incredible blast force behind it, and slammed into the ground outside of his quarters. He quickly jumped from the smoke and to the roof of his office, looking towards the sky, of which he could barely make out the pieces of the creature slowly falling down. “A suicide mission, eh? What a worthless effort.” Hideki, however, spoke too soon and as he ended his sentence, the creature began to pull back together not as one, but as two different entities of the same likeness.

Hideki let out a verbal swear and an awkward glance and quickly shot towards the first creature, yet again, this time sending a hard right kick into its torso, sending it flying, well away from the 13th Division. His eyes quickly looked toward the other and he performed a hard roundhouse kick to throw it far away as well. Hideki looked back towards his Quarters and thought for a moment. Hideki was unsure if he wanted to leave Amane here and Kyokko the entire Division, or if he wanted to take her with him until he found a safe place for her. It was an incredibly difficult decision for him to make at all. Deciding to go with his gut instinct, he cast a second Kyokko over the entire Division, and linking it to his mind. This made it so he would know if another came close to the Division and he could make it back to the area to rescue Amane from any present dangers. “I wonder if I am the only one to experience this…Who should I find first? Nu and Tsukiko are closest. Just south of here. At least I hope they are. They may have just left their Divisions…” Hideki shifted his body to the south and began running towards the 12th Division’s compound, Hopeful to find Tsukiko there.

[12th Division Compounds - Barracks and Tsukiko's Quarter's]

Hideki ran quickly, moving past the compounds walls, down along the sides of the barracks until he reached Tsukiko’s quarters towards the front of the Division. He slid the shogi door open but no one was present in the room. “Kuso…I’ll have to try Nu then.” Hideki slammed the Shogi door closed and bolted out into the semi-large courtyard just outside he quarters and ran down towards the laboratories, of which he executed a shunpo to appear on the roof of them. He could see clear over the wall that separated the 12th Division from the 2nd Division, and looked towards the main Captain’s office. Hideki bolted towards the edge of the roof and shoved off, jumping into the cool air and soaring down towards the wall. He landed with some grace, continuing to run as he did, just near the barracks. He continued along the wall until he came to be just behind Nu’s office.

Hideki then hoped down into the grassy surroundings of the office and moved to the front part of the area. Stopping at the door, he collected himself. He was not at all panicking, but Hideki did not want to walk in as if something had shaken him. He was more or less paranoid that something might happen to Amane than anything else at the moment. Hideki lifted his hand and knocked softly on the door before entering with his head slightly bowed as a simple sign of cordial respect for another captain. “Nu-san, I was wondering if you knew anything about the recent fiends about the Seireitei. At least I can only assume there would be more than the one I encountered.” As he spoke, Hideki lifted his head only to notice a Tsukiko laying, oddly by Nu, in the same room as well. “Oh, Gomen. I did not mean to interrupt anything. Konbanwa Tsukiko. Perhaps you have heard something about these things? I was unsure as to where everyone was at, so I came to see the two of you.” Hideki was moving about the room as he spoke, but found a spot against the wall in which to lean and be comfortable as they spoke. It was probably somewhat rude to do as he had done, but he was not in the mindset to be polite in any matter. He was mostly about formalities.

Emiya looked at Kougji funny when he mentioned it being a pleasure to meet her. The way she was brought up was that it was the pleasure of unimportant people to meet important people, not the other way around. Due to that upbringing, the fact that he even said that was baffling to her and was almost an annoyance. She shook her head, insisting that things be done a proper way for she was stubborn like that. "No, the pleasure is mine, Kougji-dono." Inwardly, she hoped nothing else would be said on that subject and that they could just move on; it wasn't really her place to say anything and she had somewhat overstepped her bounds just by correcting him in the roundabout way she had. Not to mention she wasn't in the right mindset for it either since Kougji had mentioned that he was the leader of the 4th Division. Naturally, any mention of anything connected to the Hospital sent her thoughts right back to a primary concern of hers; Kuzumi's safety. No matter how she might try, no matter the situation, she always worried about him; mostly because she loved him so much. She certainly had confidence in her friend's ability to get Kuzumi to the Hospital in a timely manner, but at the same time, she was worried about how well they might fare against one of those creatures if they decided to pop up and attack.

Right now was a prime example of the behavior she had noticed in herself over the past few months. Such inner reflection of her being helped her realize now how Kuzumi felt whenever she went off to fight Hollow, or how her father felt when she began to walk to school all by herself in the 4th grade. Up until recently she had dismissed such things as folly, but now she understood. Still, now was no time for thinking such things. Emiya shook her head to get rid of the thoughts and let them return to Kougji's question she had heard earlier but not responded to. "I don't think so. Where you came from and where I came from are very far apart, and they're fast, but not that fast. Unless they can teleport, I think we fought different creatures. There must be at least three original creatures since all of us fought one, and I'd bet my next allowance there are more out there. It's definitely a serious problem and nothing to be taken lightly. Although, they don't seem all that smart..." Occasionally her eyes would dart to and from the two captains as she spoke for fear of falling on her a**, which was strange in itself because she never had to watch her footing in Kendo, it simply came naturally to her. It was paranoia of falling, most likely; she hadn't figured it out yet.

At Kougji's request, she picked up her pace, moving faster than she had been, but at the cost of most of her visual attention on Hibiki and Kougji. After the first division area, the building housing Kazuhiko's office came into view and she she swallowed the lump in her throat as she calmed herself down. The idea of talking to the man in charge was a little overwhelming to her; she had never even met the man once, but had heard of him before. Meeting anyone in power was a little unnerving, which was also odd considering the number of high-society-type functions she had attended in her youth. While he was dwelling on yet another pointless thought, Hibiki spoke up, telling them to go on ahead without him while he went to go visit someone named Lee, whom she couldn't say she was exactly familiar with. In regards to his binding concept, she actually had a thought; it seemed she was the only one to actually attempt this thus far and since she had the experience, she should share. After he left, she glanced at Kougji and jerked her head behind her as if to indicate the now-gone Hibiki. "He's right, that actually did work. I tried anchoring them to a tree with static electricity and I know that, at the very least, it worked for a few minutes. I have no idea what happened after I took Kuzumi away from our residence, but at the very least... it's an option. they certainly cannot be engaged in the typical manner." She shrugged, then went back to concentrating on her running, coming to a halt as Kougji did when they arrived at Kazuhiko's place.

She was slightly put off by the fact that he bothered to knock on the door and wait for him to answer before going in. Sure, etiquette was always proper protocol and she was grateful she wouldn't end up walking in on him naked, but time was a factor. Presently, she didn't see the sense in waiting for someone to come to the door, and had it been her she would have rapped her knuckles on the door as a warning, then burst in while apologizing. Emi would have done it too if not for the fact that Kougji was standing there; she couldn't very well barrel through him. She took the moment for Kazuhiko to answer to turn her back on Kougji and silently unbutton her shirt so that she could adjust the bandages securing her breasts to her body. She had long since noticed they were not properly done, which wasn't a surprise considering she had been in a rush. Unfortunately she couldn't very well take them off in public, so she settled for moving them around the best she could and then buttoning her shirt back up when she felt it was sufficient. Her hand went to Yuunagi, which was secured to her body by a braided blue cord that crossed over her upper body from her left hip to her right shoulder, going right between the two moderately visible mounds on her chest. The feel of the weapon made her think about Shisui, and thinking about that made her remember that she forgot to pick up the bottle of water on the kitchen counter. Without it, she didn't have anything to pour on Shisui to use it, and it was too soon to think about using her own blood. After a second of fretting, she spotted someone passing by and quickly called for them to stop, them bowed politely before requesting that they bring her a bottle of water. Surprisingly, she was met with a polite smile and nod before the person whisked themselves away to fulfill her wish. It seemed that the people around here were used to fulfilling seemingly pointless tasks, leading her to wonder just what kind of person this Kazuhiko was.
