The Main Thread

Week 1 - Week 2 - Week 3 - Week 4 - Week 5 - Week 6 - Week 7

Wrapup 1 - Wrapup 2 - Wrapup 3 - Wrapup 4

March 15th, 1411.

Dr. Adlam and his handful of assistants sat around the dank sources of light, tiny douses of fire by candlelight that were perched upon their rickety work tables. Pieces of parchment were flung around in every corner, deep wells of ink splotching onto every inch of wood and excess paper it could find, and the only sounds that were made were the careful scratching of quills, which made neat and carved letters hastily spelled out into seething sentences and phrases.

Carefully, the cultist doctor rolled up each piece of parchment, rolling them up into neat sleeves as he carefully slipped the rolls into the wiry beaks of crows, all of them assembled into army lines in vast numbers, whilst other robed men perched the avians upon their gloved hands and sent them loose into the painted night. Smiling, Dr. Adlam watched as an army of over two thousand crows descended into the vast ocean of stars, which seemed to be slowly consumed by the birds who were as tiny as the ants crawling around the tiny and open walls of his Auvinian home.

"To each and all his own," Dr. Adlam murmured, adjusting the rim of his glasses, "And to every Grimm we've sent."

Challenges

Each and every Grimm has been PMed at least one challenge (Note: A challenge is very similar to a prompt, but can be replied to in any form-- RP or solo) personally pertaining to them. This challenge, written by Dr. Adlam and his band of Cultist propagandists, whom have found a method of tracking Plagues similar to the Doctor's own, have been sure to give a message to ALL estimated 2000 Grimms in Panymium. It's up to you whether or not your Grimm has responded to Dr. Adlam and the House's foreboding messages.

Aside from your Grimm's personalized challenge, there is also a series of happenstances within every faction and region of Panymium. These are also challenges, as listed below this excerpt. Though they are still called challenges, they were not messaged by Dr. Adlam himself, and are merely questions and missions that the faction members and commonwealth are faced with in society. If your Grimm has not yet been admitted into a Faction, they can respond to one of two Commonwealth questions, while Grimms in Factions can respond to a Faction challenge and a Commonwealth challenge.

This Meta Thread will also be updated every THREE DAYS, an IC equivalent of ONE WEEK, to signify a change in a region or faction's status. You can choose to ignore the Challenges below and simply respond to the Meta's storyline, but you MUST respond to the Challenge that was PMed to you in order for you be 'a part of' the Meta.

If you do not post two entries in response to the Meta every week, however, you will not be able to participate further in the Meta. Consequent wrap-up RPs and solos in response to the Meta will be considered normal solos, ORPs, and RPs. Any PRPs must also be LABELED with an RP tag as such- PRPs- [META PRP], and ORPs- [META ORP].

Listed below is the few basic challenges for each 'faction'. If this was too confusing to understand, or if you have any questions on how this meta works, please be sure to PM the mule or ask a question in the event thread!

Cheers.

Factions

The House of Obscuvos
Cultists, House converters, anarchists...

"Riot"
As of now, the House of Obscuvos has been acting in the shadows-- but now it's time to truly shine! Go to the provinces of Shyregoed and Imisus, dear follower, and help your brethren in replenishing the chaotic youth of the streets once more...

...Exemplify your love for the Glutton God by outshining your peers in the riots across the land.

The Council of Sciences
Scientists, Council supporters, dilettantes...

"Preserve"
Riots are happening all across the province, and the safety of the Council's catacombs are being endangered! Thankfully for you, the catacombs are connected so well that there is little need to travel above-ground if you must get to another province.

Since your life personally is endangered, as is the life's work of the Council, we beg you-- take as much work as you can and retreat to a safer part of the Council's academic locations, recover what Plagueology documents have been hidden in our catacombs in Auvinus, and find what aid you can within the Imperial Guard's many headquarters.

The Fellowship of the Mages
Mages, Fellowship loyals, practitioners...

"Protect"
Dear Mages, the Fellowship is now facing a time of great hardship... the Grand Magus' brutal death in Queen Valhalla's own hands have resulted in the unease of many in Shyregoed and beyond. The controversy over Benedicta Waldgrave's death have left many Fellowship members into leaving their faction to go off to their own devices, and many of the people in Shyregoed have been rioting the Mage bases in search of ambiguous answers.

Protect all Fellowship sanctions across Panymium and spread the news of the Fellowship's still good name, and protect the innocent and those you can with the Magic you have been blessed with.

Commonwealth

Lower class
Workers, farmers, urchins, peasantry, servants...

"Seek"
As a part of the lower class, you have been the most effected by the haphazard and extreme violence going around in nearly every populous region of Panymium. In part of this, the lower class has chosen one of two things-- fight or flight. So, to you, the question is basic-- what do you do? Do you protect your own assets and move away from the troubles of your location, or do you stay and revolt with the rest of the people to try and find some answers?

Upper class
Churchmen, nobility, wealthy businessmen, royalty...

"Honor"
The upper class flourish with the vitality of the Royal Families and the Emperor. As of now the Royal Families and Emperor are just what the riots are after-- they are fighting and destroying every single foundation that has represented the upper class's wealth. They're demanding answers that none can possibly provide at the moment, but you soon come to realize that there must be a way to stop these riots. With the political power you have with your status and/ or wealth, find a way to quell some of the violence happening across Panymium. Do you use your influence in a peaceful way, or do you aim to resolve things violently?

MAJOR CITIES, Panymium 1411
Click to full view

User Image

Shyregoed

Current Status: (April 12th-April 26th) Many have halted their rioting against the Grand Magus after the official inauguration, but unrest still stands within Shyregoedian barriers. The current turmoil within the Fellowship is causing confusion and mis-communication between the general public and the mages themselves.
Popular Transportation: Horse carriage (normal speed), caravans (slow), illegal teleportation services (extremely quick)
Dangerous for: The Fellowship of Mages, The House of Obscuvos

Previous updates: (START) Lady Waldgrave's controversial death is quickly becoming hot news across Shyregoed. Combined with the tragedy with Troupe de Panymium not long ago, Shyregoed is stirring with riotous activity. Cultists bases, meanwhile, are diminishing one by one.
(March 15th-March 29th) Citizens are faced with a dividend and many are forced to take sides against or for their leaderships in cities and other settlements. Cultist bases such as the Annex are decreasing in size, but at the same time revolts seemed to have shifted from Imisus to Shyregoed. Commonwealth, nobility included, are being factored against in a time of mass hysteria. Shyregoed has been the most effected by the propaganda that has been spreading about the Black Death, especially around trade cities and port cities.
(March 29th-April 12th) The extreme dividend between the Fellowship and Shyregoed's dwindling state of being has pulled it into a state of turmoil and great confusion. Many people are rioting against the ancient castles sprawled around that are considered Fellowship bases, but at the same time are being fueled on by House influence. The new Grand Magus is completely unknown to anyone, which is spreading all the more confusion around Shyregoed, and many are inciting riots due to their strong sense of betrayal. Many are either conspiring against the Fellowship or are trying to get into Mishkan lands.

User Image

Imisus

Current Status: (April 12th-April 26th) Reconstruction as proved extremely difficult, but Imisus is slowly pulling itself out of the chaotic aftershock of the riots. Unease has transformed into hardship, however, and many have turned to thieving and other crimes if they are too poor or are on the brink of death, and so violence continues to spread.
Popular Transportation: Horse carriage (normal speed), smuggling (quick), caravans (slow)
Dangerous for: Commonwealth, the Council of Sciences, the Imperial Guard

Previous updates: (START) Constant riots combined with the sudden disappearance of Simon Rockland, Councilor of the Sciences, has stirred street violence and political uproar. Scientist catacombs are being targeted by extremist fanatics.
(March 15th-March 29th) Revolts have dimmed in comparison to the beginning of the week, but the Councilor remains missing and the scientists are still in hiding. Smaller farm towns in comparison to major cities are completely vacant, though, and after the revolts bands of cultists have decided to crop up in a few empty plain areas around Imisus. Violent and sudden arrests have led to a majority of lower class commonwealth relocating themselves to Auvinus or Shyregoed.
(March 29th-April 12th) Council members are slowly starting to return to the headquarters after their initially disturbing reaction to the propaganda fliers flying around Panymium at such a rapid rate. There is heavy debacle between the two leading factions, the Imperial Guard and the Council, at this very moment, and much of Imisus is still under major destruction after the riots. Neither factions have started to clean up and rebuild the majorly destroyed cities and towns, which have led to much homelessness and relocating for Imisese families, though borders are difficult to move past. Poverty has stricken at its utmost peak in Imisese history.

User Image

Auvinus

Current Status: (April 12th-April 26th) Cultists are quickly returning back to Auvinus, but several efforts have been made by the Imperial Guard to cease and desist of any who dare cross or leave its borders. Ceasing those who enter is quickly proving difficult, however. The King of Auvinus is rumored to be affiliated with the House of Obscuvos, and conspiracy rises.
Popular Transportation: Smuggling (quick), caravan (slow), kidnapping (normal pace), illegal teleportation (extremely quick)
Dangerous for: Commonwealth, the Imperial Guard, the Council of Sciences, the Fellowship of Mages

Previous updates: (START) Cultist hubs across the entire continent are revealing themselves from their quarters and are slowly moving illegally past borders. Towns seem peaceful and relatively quiet, but kidnappings have increased.
(March 15th-March 29th) Auvinus is thriving with activity during the night, with new settlers and travelers from borders at heavy risk of being kidnapped or killed. The House of Obscuvos is threatening the safety of the main Imperial Guard base, the capital Nylle. Due to its reputation, it is hard for Auvinians to travel through borders without heavy-duty check-up from border Guards.
(March 29th-April 12th) The Imperial Guard has completely restricted movement and has factored in major bias against all Auvinian citizens. Many of the cultist hubs are being invaded under order of the Emperor and many of the towns are being attacked themselves by officials in search of the House of Obscuvos. Hundreds of missions to save kidnapped and otherwise forcibly abducted citizens are on active patrol, but the degree of success is faltering while the hubs are emptying out at an extremely quick rate, and others are being fended off against at an oddly successful percentage by the House.

User Image

Mishkan

Current Status: (April 12th-April 26th) Interrogations have lightened and peace remains in Mishkan. The Imperial Guard's stronghold is steeled once again. Skepticism continues to rise in turn for safety, however, and underground propaganda continues to be writhe with influence.
Popular Transportation: Smuggling (quick), horse carriage (normal speed), caravans (slow)
Dangerous for: The House of Obscuvos, the Fellowship of Mages

Previous updates: (START) Any and all persons with magical ability are under extreme lockdown in Mishkan. Imperial Guard hostility has led to even tighter border control, but by law Mishkan is still obliged to let all Panymese into its lands. Common people are generally extremely hostile towards all officiates from the Fellowship and the House of Obscuvos; mass hostile killings and murders at night have occurred frequently.
(March 15th-March 29th) Due to its overwhelming influence in Mishkan, the Imperial Guard took the chance to completely shield Mishkan to the best of its ability from outside news, though how well they're succeeding is out of the question. Previous news of the chaos in Auvinus and Imisus is flying extremely quickly through the Panymese Press illegally traveling through Helios and, consequently, the Imperial Guard censoring Mishkan from the political uprising in surrounding areas have led to public ignorance. Those who know of what's happening outside of Mishkan are enraged, revolutionaries from Mishkan are trying to ruin the Imperial Guard.
(March 29th-April 12th) All is quiet in Mishkan-- Imperial Guards are quelling revolutionary influence at a fast rate. Immigrants from other provinces are only admitted once given an extremely high-standard interrogation.

User Image

Helios

Current Status: (April 12th-April 26th) The Emperor has not been seen outside of his palace. Helios is now majorly comprised of either politicians or prisoners. Travel through Helios is proving impossible for any and all who wish to go there.
Popular Transportation: Illegal teleportation (extremely quick), smuggling (quick)
Dangerous for: The House of Obscuvos, Commonwealth

Previous updates: (START) Heavy city lock down has closed all Helios wall borders from new entrants. The Emperor has ordered a cease and desist of all anarchists and revolutionists in the area.
(March 15th-March 29th) Advisers of the Imperial Guard himself are seeking formalities with Helian nobility. The Emperor is stashed safely away in his headquarters' barriers and, due to the instability of his provinces, the Imperial Guard is getting sent out in massive numbers to neighboring provinces. Helios border patrol has nearly entirely been given honors and the privilege of doing as they please to the lower class in all provinces, which has led to increased official corruption in some soldiers, with added cruelty against Grimms and the Plagues.
(March 29th-April 12th) Helian patrol have been sending in prisoners to the main prison of Panymium from borders all around the continent. Citizens have been expelled from Helios as a whole if inflicted by the Black Death, and many are making roundabouts into the capital province in illegal manners due to its high security against the disease. The Emperor reveals his face for the first time in front his palace as an official speaking to his people, but is interrupted and sent back into the corridors by his advisers. Propaganda is spreading about the degree of the Emperor's current state in power.

The House of Obscuvos

Current Status: (April 12th-April 26th) All cultists are being called back to their Auvinian main headquarters for a sermon lead by Andromeda the Wise. Nevertheless, any and all House members are being relieved of their current minion-esque duties while the last of the crow phenomena is dying down and wearing into its last days. Cultists are also being driven out en masse and successfully by the hands of nearly all of the other factions.
Popular Modes of Transportation: Illegal teleportation (extremely quick), smuggling (quick), caravan (slow)
Hubs: Blackmere (Auvinus), Moore (Mishkan), The Annex (Shyregoed), Ale (Imisus), Aqua (Helios)

Previous updates: (START) Cultists all over Panymium have moved into concentrated areas of House bases to relay and relocate all information. Heavy activity in Imisus has mainly been fueled by cultist hands, whilst propaganda in Shyregoed is expediting the conspiracy around Lady Waldgrave's untimely death.
(March 15th-March 29th) Cultist activity in Imisus was a mix between failure and success, with Andromeda the Wise successfully breaching Gadu headquarters. As a result, the increased amount of attention to the House has led to it being extremely difficult for the House of Obscuvos to transport themselves during any time of the day. Any and all who are suspected to have affiliations with the House, including reports of strange behavior from neighbors, friends, and even strangers, will be seized immediately by the Imperial Guard to be questioned.
(March 29th-April 12th) Cultists are having a difficult time relocating back to Auvinus, but Andromeda the Wise has slowly been gathering up the legacy of Waldgrave's scandalous cultist troops to take them back to their home province. Many are remaining in Shyregoed to continue inciting riots against the Fellowship but, at this time, are starting to dwindle in activity in place of Dr. Adlam's series of experiments. Cultist Grimms and their Plagues have caused a massive amount of physical damage throughout the provinces and continue to do so. Due to the degree of actions taken by the House at this point, many people outside of the Obscuvos are starting to fester up a serious amount of hatred for them, and will eagerly kill any who are suspected of being a cultist. Cultists should act with haste.

The Council of Sciences

Current Status: (April 12th-April 26th) Dr. Kirkaldy of the Council is currently mediating Imisus with reconstruction and is being aided by the Imperial Guard to a heavy extent. The remaining Council members have gained honors but should be weary of the newly gained hatred of the scientists slowly festering amongst the streets.
Popular Modes of Transportation: Horse carriage (normal speed)
Hubs: Gadu (Imisus), Thorn (Auvinus), Briham (Mishkan), Terra (Helios)

Previous updates: (START) Scientists are under threat of Cultist invasion, even in the catacombs. They are under heavy protection of the Imperial Guard and Imisus' royal family, but are currently under hiding and are trying to relocate to other parts of Panymium as soon as possible.
(March 15th-March 29th) Simon Rockwell has been declared unofficially deceased due to his ambiguous status in the Council. Dr. Kirkaldy has ordered all sciences headquarters to hide all information into the safer part of their catacombs but, during the Imperial Guard's aid in Imisus, the discovered use of cadavers and other unethical scientific processes have led to increased propaganda against the immorality of the Council. Scientists should be aware of revolutionaries and propagandists, as they are being pitted as the same kind of leeching and unholy demon as the House of Obscuvos itself, for practicing branches of science that "go against human morale and barriers."
(March 29th-April 12th) Despite the insecurity faced by the Council by the general public at this point, Dr. Kirkaldy has relieved those who were traveling away from Council headquarters to come back and aid Imisus and their faction in rebuilding their foundations. Many scientists are traveling back in light of this message, which is extremely slowly seeping through from Imisus and westward.

User Image

The Fellowship of Mages

Current Status: (April 12th-April 26th) An inauguration of the new Grand Magus has proved to result in a sharp dividend in two factions, those against Grand Magus Estratus and those for her. Loyals of Estratus are currently setting up their defenses around respective areas to secure their footing in the political barriers of the Fellowship, while those against are mostly vying for power or were the corrupted figures for the recently dead Grand Magus and her cultist scandals.
Popular Modes of Transportation: Teleportation (extremely quick), horse carriage (normal speed)
Hubs: Anica (Shyregoed), Edgecrest (Imisus), Thorn (Auvinus), Knotwood (Mishkan), Ignis (Helios)

Previous updates: (START) Certain Fellowship nobility have been enraged by the news of Lady Waldgrave's death and have given up their affiliation with the Fellowship completely. Conspiracies over the former Grand Magus' death lead in general hostility and confusion from Mages, who are getting the brunt of violence from Shyregoedian commonwealth. Hostility and confusion over illegal teleportation is also leading into many of the Mages being arrested along with cultists.
(March 15th-March 29th) Mages who reveal themselves to the public continue to be attacked by the public, especially on information on who the new Grand Magus might be, of which none of the Fellowship members (except for a select handful, whose identities are disclosed) have any information on. The Fellowship has been split into three dividends and there is much dispute between the parties-- those who remain loyal to the Fellowship and continue to carry out Grand Magus Waldgrave's orders, corrupt mages who wish to overtake the throne of the Fellowship, and those who detest the current status of the Fellowship of Mages and wish for reformation.
(March 29th-April 12th) All of the major and extremely violent riots have ceased, but riots are continuing nevertheless, especially around Anica and Colwe. Not only should Fellowship members start to secure their fortresses and relieve Shyregoed of the mess left over by the cultists sprawled around Fellowship areas. Crows are the most populous in Shyregoed, more specifically dead crows, but it seems at this point in time that the Fellowship and Shyregoed as a whole are the most accustomed to the Grimms and their Plagues, though this mentality might be soon to change given the series of events caused by their presence.

User Image

Commonwealth

Current Status: (April 12th-April 26th) The Panymese Press has relieved themselves of Imperial imprisonment once again and are abound in Imisus once more, but after the relief of the crow phenomena, many have seemed to die down in terms of violent activity. Skepticism is still writhe on the streets about the happenstance, but all save Grimms have been saved from any more trouble with the enraging bouts of hallucinations.
Popular Modes of Transportation: Horse carriage (normal speed), caravan (slow)
Hubs: None (or, optimistically, everywhere)

Previous updates: (START) General violence throughout Panymium. See the region statuses to see various reactions.
(March 15th-March 29th) It is extremely hard for anyone to travel at this point in time, with border patrol being so strict and with the endless violence in the streets. Grimms are subject to stalkings and Plagues are subject to kidnappings and murders. Those who are not in factions are heavily regulated by the Imperial Guard and are extremely likely to be manipulated by corrupt officials.
(March 29th-April 12th) The Imperial Guard at this point has left the Grimms to their own devices, many denying government help in turn for their own statuses. Many commonwealth are currently either enraged or homeless, or a combination of both, and are having a difficult time relocating or traveling throughout Panymium. The Panymese Press has died down in propaganda, as their press was found and ceased immediately, but the anger and confusion still stands.

User Image

The Imperial Guard

Current Status: (April 12th-April 26th) The inattention of the Imperial Guard is slowly being dissolved alongside the reappearance of Plague General Treatise at the foot of Imisus. Many of the Guards are stationed in Imisus while the Council and its citizens reground their footing through reconstruction and the like. General Kunze and Dr. Kirkaldy of the Council are discussing matters with the Emperor about a new budgeting pact.
Popular Modes of Transportation: Horse carriage (normal speed), caravan (slow)
Hubs: Ashcroft (Mishkan), Winterview (Shyredgoed), Chestering (Imisus), Nylle (Auvinus), Ventus (Helios)

Previous updates: (START) Currently aiding the Council of Sciences in Imisus in order to try and quell the rising revolts across several cities.
(March 15th-March 29th) The Imperial Guard successfully aided in retaking Imisus from the revolts near the end of the second week but, consequently, both the Plague General and General have been rendered completely out of commission. As a result increased corruption around the base has led to cultists, more than once, successfully disguising themselves as the Guard to relay information in public.
(March 29th-April 12th) Plague General Treatise has been found near-dead near the foot of the Northern Base at Shyregoed, and General Kunze has recollected some of his health at the Mishkan base. Due to relocating both of the officials, the Guard has regained its footing and morale at an extremely quick pace, and have set to involve themselves in all provinces available. Their increased influence is wearing thin, however, as their attention is being split into several problems.

"A kick, a start, but with no end in sight!"

META UPDATE
Week 1
March 15th, 1411 - March 22nd, 1411

(Please update your previous posts with RPs and solos during
that week if you have any extra. To those who have not posted, you are
allowed to do so with posts from both week 1 and prep for 2.)

UPDATE 1: March 15th, 1411, Grimms/Personal Challenge
Dr. Adlam and his small band of Cultist followers have sent out missives to every single Grimm on Panymium briefing a threat sent out, all of which seem to detail more about the Grimm's life than they thought anyone might know, a stranger especially.

UPDATE 2: "The Kick," Grimms, week 1
Unfortunately for you, the threat seems more than viable by now. That crow that sent you that letter is seemingly coming at you in multitudes, dropping you pieces of parchment with absolutely nothing inside, though it seems to 'melt away' in the same fashion as the one that you first got, as if it's reminding you of something.
There are also stalkers within your vicinity, where ever you are-- just how they got there you don't know, unless you pry it out of them. Beware of those keeping track of where you're going when you do. They are not attacking, but they are watching, so think before you act and act intelligently.

UPDATE 3: "The Start," those who are traveling, week 1 to ?
Well! Decided to react to that letter, have you? I see that you're making quick steps towards another destination, but alas, that isn't... good news, per se, though we're very glad you're trying.
Imperial Guard officials are going to stop you at every border you go. They will check not only your belongings but they will check for two very specific things-- if you have the Black Death or if you own a Plague. If you do have a Plague, Guards will most likely try to take you into custody, which in more earnest terms means prison while they try to figure out what to do with you. They can't let a Cultist snuff right under their wing, right?
So, what do you do to avoid guard suspicion if you do own a Plague?

UPDATE 4: "Festering," Fellowship / Shyregoed, week 1
If you haven't heard of the news yet, well, good job, you have a pair of very dense ears. Lady Benedicta Waldgrave is dead, snuffed of life right underneath Fellowship noses, and for reasons very little people know of, either. News is spreading quickly throughout Shyregoed, and the Fellowship members are acting... a little bit strangely.
Of course, anywhere you even begin to go in Shyregoed, you'll end up coming across at least one mage if you aren't one already. If you do end up seeing a few, even one, tell us, are they as noble as they say, and do they help you out, or are they corrupt souls who are trying to overtake Benedicta Waldgrave's place?

UPDATE 5: "Razing," Imisus (Commonwealth), week 1
Beware of those in Imisus, beware! Honestly, what are you still doing there? Waiting to be killed?
To you in the upper class I'd suggest hiding yourselves or escaping immediately because there will be an attempt on your life, if there hasn't been already. To you in the lower class, I say, all the more carpe diem to you, sirs and ladies, as the Guard has been riding up your necks with constant checks, and have probably ravaged your house to see if you're hosting any suspicious revolutionaries under your wing.
If you've experienced either of these within the week, please, enlighten us if you have and, honestly, are you going to stay or leave the ravaged east?
