Here are drawings I have done. These first two are my current avi. Both are not 100% done and are also crappy camera pics since my scanner is down at the moment.... Feel Free To Comment.

More to come.

ART....

The shading around the hand is not that dark in RL... Again these are crappy camera pics.

That's not bad, the hand's shape is way off as well in size, but other than is good. Wish i was that good in shading.

Hands and hair are not my thing
PostPosted: Mon Sep 20, 2010 11:27 pm

Meh I'm ok with hair. The sad part is I drew the hand befor and the size was better but I relized the arm was way too short so I fixed it and couldn't get the hand right the secong go.

The second one is good, but the shading in the first is wonderful. I think the pose looks more natural and graceful in the first as well. Lovely. 3nodding

You do have some potential, but you definitely need practice, as you stated yourself, especially on the hands. Anatomy also needs some work - The arms are way to short, esp. on the first picture, and the bodies in general are in incorrect proportions to the head. Just remember that the head has to fit seven times into the body, approx. Also, your shading can be improved a lot. The second one is colored extremely flat- Maybe that's your thing, but try to work more with saturation and really darkening where shadows ought to be! The first is better regarding that, but still really flat. The shadows rarely fall realistically and the light areas are really flat and strong as well- As I've said, flat coloration might be your thing, but even that needs more shadows and in some cases even an increased number of outlines. You definitely have to work on the facial proportions as well- In the first, it's mainly the eyes, in the second, though, the line below the lips seems weird, the nose is almost too simplistic. Try working from references, even if you aim at a sorta cartoony style, it does wonders. As I've said, you've got potential, so keep on practicing!

@ Cuivie

Thanks bunches for the advice!! I've been reading more on anatomy and drawing people. I never drew people when I was taking art classes so it's all new to me. Yay for learning.

I wish I knew what happend to these.. My parents have alot of my sculpters but most of my old drawings/paintings are MIA.. Lost in the few years where I didn't realy draw or sculpt or paint anything.

I applaud your watercolor art! I absolutely fail in that catagory. Though I like the sea creature one better, I feel like it's more creative. hah.

Thank you. I feel the same. The first one we were told what to paint.. the second was later in the class when we did whatever we wanted.

Your watercolours are impressive, especially the details such as the petals' dewdrops or the streaks in the hair. Amazing, but I don't know what to suggest for it.
