So you just got your very first powered EndGame character and you're wondering... now what? Well, seeing as E|TfC is all about myths, you're going to need a place to record your legend. That's where a gospel comes in handy!

What's a gospel, you ask? It's just a local phrase for what you might be familiar with as a "diary" or a "journal." It's a recording of your character's journey from Newbie to Cultist and beyond, and here we're going to tell you all about how to set one up.

Part 1. Thread creation
This right here is the subforum for powered character diaries. If your character is a civilian or a blacksuit, their diary goes in the "logbooks" subforum. If you are making a diary for a Player and you are not in the subforum titled "Gospels," you are doing it wrong. So make sure you're in the right place!

The first thing to do is format your thread title right. A correct thread title reads:

:The Gospel According to: [Name]

So, for example, if your character's name is Susie, your thread title should be:

:The Gospel According to: Susie

In your first post, you should have your cert and any sort of introductory statements you want. You can also jazz up your thread with banners, font colors, etc. It's your playground, have fun.

Although you might not use all of it, we recommend reserving the whole front page (fifteen posts).

Part 2: Profile information

If you've obtained a character, you've probably already got a completed profile template. Just in case you haven't, though, you can find one here. If your profile hasn't been approved by staff already, you'll need to get it cleared before you can play, but that shouldn't stop you from setting up your diary. (Characters won through RP contests are considered automatically approved, assuming the profile hasn't been significantly altered since the contest.)

With your shiny, completed profile in hand, you now need to copypasta it into your diary. It should go in the second or third post depending on the layout you're using, somewhere easy for us to find. Other than that, though, the layout and contents of your diary is up to you!

Part 3: Well, except for one thing...

Somewhere on the front page of your diary, you need a post outlining your fulfillment of growth requirements by linking the RPs and tallying points. The exact growth requirements will be covered in the next post, but if you put in for growth and your requirements are not tallied somewhere we can easily find them, we maintain the right to hold your power-up hostage until you get it all sorted out!

GROWTH REQUIREMENTS

Rather than having a set number of solos and group RPs you must complete, we at EndGame operate on a points system. Each RP you do is worth a certain number of points, and when you have the points, you can put in for growth.

Points are awarded as follows:
  • SOLOS are worth One Point.
  • PRPs (two to three participants) are worth Two Points.
  • ORPs (four or more participants) are worth Three Points.

Theoretically, you could do all your requirements with solos and never have to RP with anyone, but it would take a bloody long time. You could also do it entirely with ORPs, but that would be a pain in the a**.

Solos must be 400 words to count towards points. You cannot count a single long solo multiple times, but you can combine multiple short solos to count as one.

In order to count an incomplete RP for points, it must have been inactive for a month. Incomplete RPs always count as one point. Should you later finish the RP, you may add the difference, but the RP does not count twice.

For promotion from Newbie to Prophet you need twenty points.
  • Additionally, you must write a piece of your character's legend. The legend may take the form of a retelling of an earlier witnessed event in your character's story, or the recounting of something your character did "offscreen." It does not necessarily have to be an accurate retelling - the purpose of the story is to show how your character is beginning to build a following and enter into the urban lore of Central.

For promotion from Prophet to Cultist you need fifty points.
  • Your character must also develop some kind of associated
symbol, and a some kind of dedicated following.
  • You must also write another part of your character's legend, bringing them further into the public consciousness and ramping up the scale of the event. Think spectacle.

Promotion to Ascended is activity, plot, and merit based.

Your points are reset each stage, starting when your growth art is posted. While you may do more than the required number of points and are, in fact, encouraged to do so in the name of character development, RPs done before your official growth will not count.

Points can also be awarded for OOC behavior such as in-thread contests, helping with plots, and pretty much whatever we feel like.

You may submit your growth form here when you are five points shy of the growth requirements.

Transferring RP towards growth from the old shop to the new.

Any RPs you did before the move still count for growth! Simply link them in your diary and count them under the new system as solos, PRPs, or ORPs according to the definitions in the previous post.

If you had qualified for growth under the old system but not under the new one, you are still qualified. Any growths qualified for pre-move but not completed should be submitted as soon as possible.

If you had not qualified under the old system, then just tally towards growth under the new system as normal.
