-- Red Clouds Chakra Forest --

User Image

Somewhere on the borders of the Fire Country, the chakra forest finds it's beginnings which leads far up into the mountains, eventually leading to the Akatsuki Mountainside base. The forest is old and the trees are incredibly large, with gnarled, dark-reddish trunks and wide branches perfect for running around within and leaping from tree to tree. The entire forest is covered in a thick fog which makes visibility within the trees minimal, only about 50 feet around. The air even seemed to be partially saturated with chakra particles, making tracking someone, even with a doujutsu exceedingly difficult.

From the upper mountain lakes, several rivers flow through the forest, which can at times act as place markers, but the forest itself seems to delight in fooling travelers who come through it and had been known to create illusions of waterways simply to throw people off. The forest is also quite dangerous, being home to many strange and exotic creatures and would, if travel through it were to be recommended to anyone, would only be to Chuunin level ninja or above.

Konaga Sai
| Konaga Clan | Akatsuki | Jounin | RPC Profile |

Walking silently from the forests of the green Fire Country onto the borders of the Red Chakra Forest, Sai suddenly stopped in his tracks, looking into the great woods for several seconds as he stood motionless. A flock of sparrows soon erupted from the underbrush as Sai closed his eyes and sighed a deep sigh which could easily be misconstrued as anything from tiredness to mere boredom. His plan had failed earlier, but then again, it hadn't really failed... the villages were hurt, it's forces in shambles compared to their usual numbers. However, with no more bijuu left to unleash, the Akatsuki would once again have to re-capture the jinchuuriki and re-seal the Bijuu before their final plan could be realized.

Taking a moment to absorb the pain of his bloodline into the background of his mind, Sai closed his eyes again and let out another deep sigh, but this time, for a different reason. Erupting from the brush nearby, an ANBU agent from an unknown village launched himself out of the nearby shadows, drawing a Katana which he sliced downward at the perfect angle to cut Sai in half. When the blade met it's mark however, it cut through nothing but an afterimage as the ANBU agent watched the transparent image of Sai disperse before his eyes. Reeling around to see where his target had escaped to, his vision caught only a glimpse of Sai's arm which was wrapped in a flood of darkblue chakra before it struck him square in the chest.

With the force of the impact launching him backward, the pain he felt from the chakra colliding with his chest was a mere fraction of the pain he felt as his body struck one of the trunks of the hardwood trees of the chakra forest as his frame made a massive cracked dent in the bark. If his lungs had supplied his vocal cords with air, a scream might have erupted, but as it was, the man's pain itself was left silent, his head instantly falling limp as his body shut down from the immense flood of pain which rippled through his body. A single stream of blood poured out of the man's mouth and trickled down past the bottom ridge of his mask only to flow onto Sai's hand as he gripped the man's neck and held him up against the tree, looking on with a cold, emotionless stare.

"Had you not made the mistake of stepping into the shadows, I might not have seen you... but then again, that would not be the only mistake you made today. An ANBU agent rushing in to kill a target without waiting for his teammates to arrive, or without any back up at all? I should kill you now rather then let you return as a disgrace to your mask and uniform. Then again, I guess that would only end your pain. Now then, who sent you? Gurgles of what might have sounded like words coughed up between spurts of blood made Sai loosen his grip slightly only to find that the man would instantly fall limp to the ground, dead. Without the slightest bit of care, Sai leaned over the man and removed his mask to find that his mouth was foaming and the bubbles of an instant-kill drug were now oozing from his mouth. Sighing heavily once again, as if the man's death was simply an annoyance to him, Sai weaved a few hand seals and quietly hovered his hand over the body, whispering the words of his jutsu over the corpse...

"Suiton: Mizu Mukuro Suikomu" Over the course of the next few minutes, the man's body was reduced in every aspect into a puddle of water as slow upward drips rose and absorbed into Sai's palm. When the last drip had been absorbed, Sai stood up and mused to himself... "So Kiri is still after me after all these years, and this fool thought he could take me alone... a trophy to prove his worth to his comrades. I saved him from a life of disappointment to his village and himself." With nothing else keeping him there in the woods and no signs of any others in the area, Sai then disappeared in a sudden blur of movement and vanished into the Chakra Forest where the very nature of the woods would keep him from being followed.

"Trust is a fragile thing, easily tainted and broken..."

A moonless night, a clear, uncovered sky and a small rural village in the edge of the Land of Fire, all the pieces were set. All that’s left, is to play the game…

Peaceful sunset turned into night and all through the streets, a tranquil silence took hold. A few touches where lit here and there and guards were stationed all through the village but nowhere was as protected as the large manor located in the center of the village. The manor was home to a greedy lord who taxes the peasants to no end. Most were left without food or shelter but it mattered not to the lord, only that he had money to spend. Such a selfish and greedy lord, surely he will someday pay for his sins but the world was cruel and only the innocent suffer...

From the covers of the shadows, a lone figure remained crouched down close to the edge of the roof. It’s a good thing though, that despite being built in a rural area; the builders had actually put forth some effort to make the houses stable. The closer to the manor, the more fancy the design and this particular house had the sides of the roof tipped upward, giving the figure a good cover from the patrolling guards. A person of patience and still of mind, the figure lurked and waited for the right moment to proceed onto the next shadow guarded rooftop. The sounds of armor clinking against each other resounded to the figure's years but the figure made no move to respond, just simply keeping still and following the guard's movements with a keen gaze. '...Now!' Pushing off, the figure leaped into the night air and easily crossed the distance without much sound. For this mysterious figure, shrouded in darkness, such distance meant nothing as the figure had been trained from a young age on the importance of agility. The different ways one can manoeuvre the body to provide the desired results, everyday, these skills had been drilled into the figure daily but it’s only now that it’s put into good use. 'Guess those training sessions where good for something other than family bonding...'

This process repeated itself several more times until the cloaked figure finally reached the last obstacle sitting between her and her prize. Most would expect for a male rouge to be attempting such a feat but for this young woman, this was something she brought upon herself. To disrupt the chains of power in whatever way she can...till a week ago, this young woman, Haruko, had been travelling across the Land of Fire seeking new herbs that can be used for medicine or poisons. When she stumbled upon this town one stormy night and after less than 10 minutes, already knew, that this village was under the command of a corrupted beast. Disgusted, Haruko stayed and observed the treatment given to the villagers and after a week, finally had her plan ready. Tonight, she will set this manor a blaze and while she's at it, she might as well use this opportunity to obtain an interesting summoning scroll she heard the guards discussing about the other day. 'This is it, the final rung. One more jump and I'm in. Problem is how I'm going to disturb these guards...'

Keeping to her crouched position, the young woman of 20, glanced around the area for anything she could use and spotting several barrels used to store garbage and wasted food, smiled. 'Seems the strays are already gathering...perfect.' Momentarily closing her eyes, the young woman sent her chakra out towards the barrels as taught to her by her "grandfather". The man had been dead for some time now, but his teachings still rang clear in her mind. Never will she forget his tutelage. He was a man of great wisdom, and the only one that seemed to care for her in this cold, twisted word of deceit. Smile turning into a smirk when she could sense the presence of water within the barrels, Haruko expertly manipulated the water around causing the barrels to shift around before clashing to the ground with a loud "bang". As cats yelped out in surprise, guards were startled and immediately ran to check up on the situation. 'Perfect.' As the closest set of guards left towards the alleyway, Haruko took this opportunity to leap over the distance between the roof and the manor gates.

Landing on the roof, Haruko quickly slipped the side of the wall, not willing to chance being seen. Hiding behind a large sakura tree, Haruko planned out her next course of action. 'Based off what those guards mentioned at the restaurant, the guards rotate every 10 minutes and their lord tends to stay up at night to count his gold...greedy b*****d. But as long as I stick to the shadows I should be good...just in case...' Closing her eyes once more, Haruko sent her chakra towards her eyes and as she reopened them, her eyes shifted from their soft amber colour to an shade of dark red amber. Altering the visible spectrums of light, Haruko's vision changed to one of multiple colours. All around, Haruko saw things in a palette ranging from dark indigo to white. 'Mm...still not use to this vision...it strains my eyes...' About a year and a half after the passing of her guardian, Haruko found her eyesight shifting without her control and based off what she was told, she was unlocking the third stage of their bloodline, Infrared vision. Even after it stabled, Haruko had rarely found the time to train it. To have to suddenly use it again...it hurt her mind... 'Just for a bit...got to locate all the heat signatures...' Scanning around the whole manor, Haruko easily located all the heat signatures that belonged to people and embedded it to her mind. Keeping at it for another 5 minutes, she was able to witness one rotation and knew that if she wanted to act, now was the time. 'And the clock starts counting...' Closing her eyes, Haruko released the chakra from her pupils and they once more reverted back to their soft amber colour.

Glancing around the side of the tree, Haruko spotted two guards to the edge of the corner, nothing much to be afraid of, but she was never one to play it risky. Letting loose her chakra once more, Haruko sent it towards the two men and aimed to block them from hearing any sounds that may be produced by her feet. By increasing the sound the garden fountain makes, it should be just enough for her to mask her light dash across the field. Done with the tech, Haruko took in and released a deep breath before rounding the otherside of the tree and dashing quickly and gently across the grass and towards the manor wall. 'There's and open window. From when I checked before, no one's in there but there is a source of heat. Could be the kitchen.' Adding chakra to her feet, Haruko kept with her dash as she easily switched from running on grass to the wall. Hands gripping onto the roof, Haruko slipped in feet first.

Landing with a soft tapping sound, Haruko took a moment to examine the room and realised that she was indeed in a kitchen with a dying fire. 'Most likely the servant quarters...I recall our maids had similar lodgings...' Frowning at the thought, Haruko quickly brushed it aside as she cautiously made her way up the stairs towards the top floor. In homes like these, once you're in, you’re in. Most lords feel too confident in their guards that they forget to post protectors inside the house, believing that just having them outside is enough. 'All men at the top are like that. Pigs and arrogant snobs...' It was clear that Haruko's view on those who held power were not the brightest and she had a right to hate them. Her own father had been one of them and it was him who introduced her to this cruel reality in the first place. 'May all those who be corrupted be thrown to the pits of hell itself...' Taking one final step, Haruko arrived at the top floor and glancing around, Haruko spotted nothing out of the ordinary but stuck close to the walls. Peering over a corner, it was apparent that the only guards where the two man standing watch by the door that still had light shining through the gab. 'Bingo...'

Once more using her wall technique, Haruko kept to the ceilings as she crept along the walls towards the two guards. 'Time for a little nap boys,' Releasing her chakra in one swift motion, Haruko descended upon the two guards like a falling blanket, swift and silent. Quickly moulding chakra to her hands, Haruko extends out both hands and slams them onto the guards’ shoulders. Sending her chakra into the two of them, Haruko aimed for the nerve that will put them both to sleep and within moments, the two guards were out cold. Straining under their weight, Haruko did her best to ease both men to the ground. 'Argh...why must all guards be those bulky kind of men...too many muscle...'

Once on the ground and unconscious, Haruko initiated the next part of her plan, the actual assassination. For two years now, Haruko has wondered all around the 5 nations and she's killed more people than the years she had lived...something that she didn't know to call an accomplishment or a disgrace to her tutor's teachings. Sure he said to never use her abilities to harm people but the word is twisted and if needed, she's ready to taint her hands red to protect the innocent...something that she can never return to...'The past's the past, I got to focus on the present...the here and now.' Uncorking a small water gourd tied to her left hip, Haruko once more used her water manipulation technique to help draw out the water and mould it into a clone of herself. With the clone made, Haruko resealed the gourd and moved on to step two. In a small puff of smoke, Haruko transformed herself into one of the fallen guards and taking her clone by the hands, proceeded to make it look like she just caught a thief.

Knocking normally on the door, Haruko waited for a response. After a few seconds, a gruff and haggard voice called out through the door. "Come in." Smirking, Haruko pushed opened the door and forced her struggling clone before her. If they were to roleplay, then they might as well do this properly. The man's large office chair faced the wall and from the clinking sounds that filled the room, he was playing around with coins. "What is it. It better be good. You know how I hate to be disrupted while I count my coins." Face neutral now, Haruko closed the door behind them and spoke in a low voice that she practiced just for this. "I'm sorry m'lord, but we caught this lass trying to sneak into the manor. Wandered what you want us to do?" At the word 'lass', the man swirled his chair around, suddenly interested. Spotting the clone, his old, wrinkled face scrunched up as he gave out a weird smile. "Such a pretty lass, and what business does this lady have at my manor?" If possible, Haruko would have gagged at that moment but it would give her away so she kept to her guard persona. "Apparently you taxed her family just recently to the point where they are close to losing their home. So in an attempt to get some money, she was planning to steal something from you." Nodding, the overaged lord placed his coins onto the table and slipped out of his chair and walked over. "What a brave girl too...I guess I can take some pity...though it will come at a cost..."

Tightening the grip on her clone's hands, Haruko gave it the signal and she pretended to break free of her grasp while charging towards the lord. Staring in shock, the lord was surprisingly agile and somehow managed to run behind Haruko. "Crazed witch. Why you let go of her. Kill her, she tried to attack me." Smirking at his anger, and nervousness, it became clear to Haruko that this man was the kind to hide behind wealth. 'The common coward.' "No worries my lord...I'll be sure to get rid of the enemy..." The way she said it was so eerie that even the lord froze to stare up at her. In a puff of smoke, Haruko reverted back into her original image and still smirking, brought her hands to form handseals. "That's right. I'm not your guard...I'm your prosecutor. Prepare to repent..." Sending chakra to her hands, Haruko easily moulded it into a blade and as the man turned to run, Haruko whirled around and sliced his neck. The old man fell down dead as Haruko had sliced away the vital point hidden in the neck. Cancelling her tech, Haruko proceeded to raid the office for the goods.

After a quick search through the office, Haruko found the scroll she was looking for within a vault and just as she held it in her hands, the door creaked and out came a high pitch scream. Head whirling to the door, Haruko spotted a maid, who held a tray of tea and snacks in her hands. She dropped it the moment she locked gazed with Haruko and turned to run. 'S**t. Looking to her clone, Haruko tilted her head to the door and signalled for it to try and catch the maid while she made her escape.

Tucking the scroll safely within a pouch, Haruko ran towards the window and was about to jump when her clone returned with a shake of its head. 'Dang it.' Releasing a sigh, Haruko simply dispelled her clone allowing for a puddle of water to be left in its wake and jumped down the three story building. Adding chakra to her feet, Haruko eased up her landing but before she could even regain her footing, guards with lanterns and katana’s drawn were rounding the corner. 'And now they choose to act properly...' Not bothering to worry about them, Haruko took off towards the wall and calling upon her wall walking technique once more, applied chakra to her feet and ran up the wall. Stopping on the top, Haruko spared the men only one final glance before she jumped down the wall and taking off down the streets. At this point in time, Haruko didn't care if she attracted the attention of the guards or not. Besides, it was still too dark to get a clear enough image of her.

Dashing away as quickly as she could, Haruko tried to manoeuvre her way around the tricky streets but the sound of horse hooves and rallying troops alerted Haruko of the danger. 'Just my luck...forgot about the maid coming in...' Taking too the rooftops, Haruko soon found herself stuck with running and avoiding badly aimed arrows. Releasing a sigh, Haruko knew that if she kept this up any longer, she would be caught. '...The forest!' Though she knew the dangers of entering the rumoured Chakra Forests, at this point in time, Haruko rather chance meeting with a monster than facing a whole army. So with one final push, she jumped off the last rooftop and slipped into the fog covered forest.

Hidden within the shadows of a thick tree, Haruko worked on steadying her breathing as was taught to her by her 'grandfather' and listened carefully to the sounds of the approaching army. She heard the sounds of several wary guards but in the end, a decent amount of light and sound entered the forest and Haruko could only hope to remain hidden. It wasn't long before they neared her location and Haruko had to take off again, deeper into the accursed forest of no return. After 10 stressful minutes of cat and mouse, Haruko felt that she had finally lost them. Waiting an extra two minutes, Haruko assumed the coast was clear and slumped against the tree in exhaustion.

"...so trust only in yourself and your ideals"

Mizu Soujuu (Water Manipulation)
Rank: E
Description: A simple technique involving basic manipulation over the properties of water, users can boil, freeze, and pressurize a small amount of water to a certain extent. This technique can be used in an area filled with moisture to draw out a supply of water worth one E-rank technique. For each time this technique is utilized, the user will increase the supply enough to use a jutsu one rank higher than before. (Using this technique 3 times in quick succession will give the user enough water to perform one C-rank technique.)

Kyou Masukingu No Jutsu (Sound Masking Technique)
Rank: D E [Chakra Control]
Description: This ninjutsu helps to cover up any sounds the user makes if they are on a mission that requires stealth. The user performs the needed hand seals and sends the molded chakra to the target’s ears. Any natural sounds in the area (running water, crickets, wind, ect…) are magnified slightly to mask any soft sounds that the user may make.

Kinobori no Jutsu (Tree Walking Technique)/Kabenobori no Jutsu (Wall Walking Technique)
Rank: D E [Chakra Control] [Free]
Description: By focusing chakra into the soles of their feet, a shinobi can attach themselves to a hard surface, such as trees or solid walls and walk or run up them with ease. A careful balance must be struck between applying too much chakra, which would crush the surface on contact and thus make you lose your footing, and applying too little chakra causing you to fall off the surface. (This technique costs 2 chakra points to initiate, but has no retention cost) [This jutsu does not count towards an RPC's jutsu limits]

Nemuri (Sleep)
Rank: C D [Chakra Control]
Description: A genjutsu technique where the ninja places their hand on their target's shoulder and forces them into a deep slumber. A useful technique when subterfuge is involved with a mission, but utterly useless in combat.

Mizu Bunshin (Water Clone)
Rank: D E [Chakra Control]
Description: A more corporeal form of the Kiri Bunshin, the Mizu Bunshin technique creates a clone of the user with 1/10 of its physical strength. This clone unlike the Kiri Bunshin, can attack an opponent and threaten to do actual damage akin to the weapons and abilities of the user. It does not possess chakra of its own, so it cannot use any ninjutsu the user knows, nor can it think for itself beyond carrying out the initial orders of its creator. Clone disperses after one solid blow.

Henge No Jutsu (Transformation Technique)
Rank: E
Description: Using this skill, a ninja can transform their outer appearance to that of another form, whether it be a person or object. However, due to the physical restrictions on the body, the user cannot transform into anything extremely small or larger than what they already are. (Example, you could not transform into a shuriken or a small animal, nor could you transform into an enlarged or distended form of anything... so therefore no such thing as a small human-sized adult elephant, or a human-sized ant). The user must always be within the same proportions as the original form of the object. Also, the user does not gain any extra physical ability through Henge (i.e. transforming into a cheetah will not give you a cheetah's speed). Henge is dispelled when the user is touched in an offensive matter. Thus after the user hits the target in their transformed state they revert.

Chakra Enjintou (Chakra Scalpel)
Rank: B C [Chakra Control]
Description: A Ninjutsu technique used, primarily, for field surgery. The ninja concentrates a powerful aura of chakra around their hand, creating a blade capable of tearing through muscles and arteries, or breaking bone, without actually breaking the skin of the person they're using it on. This technique can also be used to repair the chakra system in a patient if for some reason it has been damaged. When used offensively, in combat, it is difficult to concentrate on the length and power of the scalpel, making it harder to successfully hit an enemy's arteries, ensuring a kill.

"Trust is a fragile thing, easily tainted and broken..."

A minute passed, and then another, and soon, a third minute slipped by and yet, Haruko felt no reason to move just yet. Though the numbers of lives she brought to an end was greater than the years she lived, it didn't mean Haruko was any use to it...the sound of blade piercing flesh...the miniature shower of blood...the smell of a decaying body...these are all things Haruko's seen and experianced but everytime felt like her first. How she could just as easily take a life than heal one...she's so much different that than lost child from 10 years ago...she was now someone who case aside her pain and suffering for the darker side of anger. Her hatred of the corrupted world is what helped her get by whenever she felt lost. It was also this goal to unset the chains of power that Haruko was able to stain her hands red...'To protect the innocent...a pure soul gave way to the darkness...tainted her soul and wings to save those who believed in truth...'

Shaking her head, Haruko cleared her head of an old story her "grandfather" had once told her and pushed off the tree. It was time to get going, its not like remaining pressed against a tree is going to help her get her next meal. Its still late at night and from the looks of it, she had wandered pretty deep into the forest during her escape. 'Not the smartest move I made in a long while...but then again...its not the first time I found myself lost. I'm sure if I take it slow I'll be alright...' Glancing around, Haruko noticed that the fog had thickened even more and without a proper light source, she'll most likely crash and trip over more roots than progress towards a possible exit. Raising her right hand, Haruko began to concentrate her chakra on the palm of her hand.

An soft, lilac glow surrounded her for a moment before it quickly flowed to her right palm and then out of it. Using her vast control over chakra, Haruko easily warpped it so that the chakra condenced to a small sphere of light. As a soft white light emitted from the chakra sphere, Haruko was able to see more of her path but the heavy fog was proving to be more difficult than what she bargined for. Releasing a sigh, Haruko simply sent her chakra light 2 inches above her head and 5 inches ahead to help light the way. The light which supposedly should have lit about 30 feet in all directions was brought down to a messly 5ft. At least she could see the ground before her...'Might as well try and see where this way will get me...' So with out many options, Haruko procceeded left and hoped for the best. These forest where known for many dangers and never one to risk it, slipped out an old kunai and held it firmly in her right hand.

Chakra Hikari no Jutsu (Chakra Light Technique)
Rank: D E [Chakra Control]
Description: This jutsu allows the user to make a ball of chakra that produces light. Although it can’t harm anyone it’s useful for when going in dark areas and good for letting your comrades know where you are if you get lost in a foggy place. The light cast by the chakra ball illuminates an area up to 30 feet in all directions around you. Once created, the light will automatically follow you wherever you go and can be moved around you to illuminate different areas. However, the light cannot be moved more then 5 feet away from the user, or it will disappear. The light lasts for 5 posts at which point the chakra condensed into the ball of light fades out.

"Trust is a fragile thing, easily tainted and broken..."

'D*** it. Didn't I pass by this route before?' Leaning forward Haruko controlled her light to come closer and illumiate a certain tree. 'Yep, that's the symbol I craved approximately 10-20 minutes ago...' Aggrivated, Haruko brought her right hand upward and placed a strike through the small by detailed symbol. "Tsk. Definiately more trouble then its worth." Turning away from the tree, Haruko sent her chakra ball out again only for it to flicker and disburst. 'Argh...great, have to make another one now. Just how much chakra must I use before I find my way out of this cursed forest?!'

Extending out her left hand, Haruko once more sent her chakra out to her hand where she expertly manipulated it into an orb of light. As her way illuminated once more, Haruko chanced a different direction this time around and began the exhausting track through the forest. It had been over an hour since her escape and if she were to get anymore lost, she would have to spend the night out here camping. Something she definately didn't want to do but would have no choice if she didn't escape this time around. 'I attacked when the night was at its peak so if I travel anymore it'll only get darker and the mist thicker. I best wait for daylight if anything...'

"..." Slumping backwards against the tree, Haruko slid down until her bottom hit the ground. Bringing her knees in close, Haruko slammed her head against the truck of the tree ever so slightly in annoyance. 'Great. Back here again...' Its been another hour since she left this spot and by now, Haruko could already feel exhaustion taking over her. The need for rest was overwhelming and Haruko could only hope lady luck was on her side tonight or today, whatever. Glancing out to the mist, Haruko called upon basic water manipulation and began to draw moisture from the mist around her. 'This might take awhile seeing how I'm attempting at a clone and nothing super basic...Once I'm out of here I should try to see if I can locate any technique that will allow me to see through mist...cause this is becoming overly annoying.'

Once the suffencient amout of water was pulled out from the Mist, Haruko molded the chakra already embedded in the water into the shape of a human person. Gaze calm and in control, Haruko mentally shaped the water and within moments, an replica of herself was created. "Stand guard, I'm gonna sleep." Handing her kunai over to the clone, Haruko repositioned herself so that her right knee was up while her left was laying straight. Wrapping both arms around her right knee, Haruko leaned her head forward for a short nap. As much as she hated to do this, she needed her rest if she was to attempt another hike in the morning. 'If only I didn't allow for that maid to spot me...' Eyes fluttering closed, Haruko cleared her mind off all thoughts as she drifted into a state of calm.

While her creator drifted off to sleep, the clone tightened its grip on the kunai as it remained standing on guard no more than a meter away.

For each time this technique is utilized, the user will increase the supply enough to use a jutsu one rank higher then before. (Using this technique 3 times in quick succession will give the user enough water to perform one C-rank technqiue.)

Mizu Bunshin (Water Clone)
Rank: D E [Chakra Control]
Description: A more corporeal form of the Kiri Bunshin, the Mizu Bunshin technique creates a clone of the user with 1/10 of it's physical strength. This clone unlike the Kiri Bunshin, can attack an opponent and threaten to do actual damage akin to the weapons and abilities of the user. It does not posses chakra of it's own, so it cannot use any ninjutsu the user knows, nor can it think for itself beyond carrying out the initial orders of it's creator. Clone disperses after one solid blow.

Travel through the forest was uneventful as it usually was for Sai, except that in this instance he had the ability to look over to Zenko every now and again as they traveled in a pair. The forest itself was incredibly dangerous, but Sai had no fear of it... in fact, most of the wild beasts had come to fear him and typically avoided him now as well. Despite this, he remained vigilant all the same and was just about to strike up a conversation with Zenko when suddenly he spotted Atsureki, holding his position ahead. Meeting the young boy on the large branch he stood on, he stopped his movement instantly, firmly landing his feet on the branch before examining Atsureki's concentrated expression.

With his Byakugan active, Atsureki had no need to turn his head left or right, but the motionlessness of his body and the bulging veins around his eyes indicated that he was searching hard for something amidst the heavy chakra mist which only he could truly see through. "Sensei, it would seem that we have a visitor in the forest... a shinobi. She's sleeping about 1 mile to the south of us, about halfway from the entrance of the forest towards the base. A clone guards her." Sai took the information in stride, quickly rattling off a series of scenarios in his head as to why she would be here and what her possible motives could be.

It was possibly that she was simply lost, which would be indicated by the need to sleep, since navigating the dangerous forest could take weeks if the pathways are not known. However, it's also possible that she was trying to find the Akatsuki has that foolish Kirigakure ANBU had done the other day. Too much was unknown however to make a determination at present. "We will use Henge to make ourselves appear to be wearing the Akatsuki robes that the villages would recognize, the black uniforms with red clouds... whatever the style was you liked best. Atsureki, you will destroy the clone and we will then interrogate the woman. If she recognizes us, we must deem her a threat. Lead the way Atsureki."

Atsureki complied immediately, using a Henge to change his appearance into that of the black robes and red clouds of the Akatsuki, one with a high collar, high enough even to block his eyes, though for Atsureki, such a cloak made sense as his Byakugan would easily see through the barrier easily. Sai himself did the same, using the Henge technique to create the image of his own uniform, a long black cloak, with sleeves dangling a few inches past the edge of his fingers, his weapons protruding from slits in the cloak to allow for their precision drawing, and a high collar, which hid his mouth and nose. A straw hat also appeared, it's rimmed edges lined with small strips of linen which dangled down to conceal the majority of his forehead and hair, leaving only his eyes visible within the shadows of his uniform, the vibrant colored dark blue speckles dancing with light. As Atsureki took off to engage as he had been told to, Sai followed closely behind, knowing that Zenko would be quick to follow suit.

"The world has forgotten the evil of the Bijuu...

Sailing through the forest canopy, Atsureki's gaze spread out all around himself, searching for any sign of unfamiliar chakra signatures. Maintaining a twenty yard lead with the others, the thick silence of the mighty trees pressed in on the proud hyuuga leaving him alone with his thoughts. Inevitably his thoughts wandered towards the deserts of wind country, and the Village Hidden in the Sand. Would he be able to seal the demon away and free Haseo of his burden? That's not a part of this mission... we're just going to find them, that's it, Atsureki thought to himself with a shake of his head. Focusing his attention back to the task at hand, Atsureki noticed the tug of a far off chakra signature.

Landing lightly on a branch, Atsureki cast his vision as far towards the chakra signature as he could. As his gaze pierced through the thick mist which pervaded the forest, he found the source of the chakra signature, a woman sleeping against the trunk of tree, a clone standing guard a few feet away. As Atsureki waited for the others to catch up, he took the time to study the woman's chakra signature, commiting the look and feel of it to memory should this turn into a chase. As Sai landed beside him, Atsureki simply continued to stare straight ahead and he said with a business-like tone,
"Sensei, it would seem that we have a visitor in the forest... a shinobi. She's sleeping about 1 mile to the south of us, about halfway from the entrance of the forest towards the base. A clone guards her."

As Sai issued his orders, Atsureki gave a quick nod of his head before dashing off towards the clone, his fingers already flashing through the seals for the henge technique. In a puff of smoke, Atsureki was suddenly wearing the infamous robes of the Akatsuki, sleeves dangling inches below the tips of his fingers, and a large straw hat, strips of cloth hanging down the sides. Within minutes, Atsureki found himself just a short distance from the pair, though still much too far for them to see him through the mist. Reaching into the holster on his left thigh, Atsureki pulled out three senbon and then dashed forward, jumping from branch to branch so that he would be able to attack from above. Jumping to a branch overlooking the pair, Atsureki let fly his senbon towards the clone, two aimed for the clone chest while the other was aimed at its neck.

Stopping on the branch, Atsureki looked down at the woman and called out,
"If you know what's good for you, you won't make any sudden moves, miss, there's no need for things to get ugly."

... I intend to help them remember."

Following closely behind Atsureki, Sai considered who this woman could be to find herself in the chakra forest apparently alone. To even come into the forest without following someone was unthinkable so the more he thought about it, she had to be lost. The question was what made her come in in the first place, which was what they would find out. Noticing that Atsureki was quickly gone out of their site, leaping above them to upper branches, Sai continued forward and then, at the last second, saw the senbon flying towards the woman's clone, he reached behind him and quickly followed it up by throwing a single kunai of his own at the same target.

Sai's attack was almost guaranteed to hit, but it had even more purpose and direction then that. If Atsureki's attack was deflected, the clone would be struck by his kunai, and if the clone was popped before his kunai struck, it's path was made to strike the bark of the tree not more then a few inches above the woman's head, which would disable her ability to get up quickly. Sufficed to say, the woman would be unable to escape the three of them in this forest and she would be forced to deal with them one way or the other.

Landing on a branch well within sight of the woman and the clone, Sai simply stared at her, saying nothing for the time being until she responded to Atsureki's words. Zenko was quick to join him, her earlier weaved hand seals giving her the same style black Akatsuki robes as before, though it was more suited to her. With the two Konaga standing close together and Atsureki perching above the woman, Sai waited to see what her response would be in this situation.

"Trust is a fragile thing, easily tainted and broken..."

Kunai in hand, the clone kept to her postion a few feet from Haruko's sleeping fourm. As the minutes slipped by, the light from her master's chakra light flickered into nothing and the impending darkness made it even more difficult to guard. Nevertheless, the clone remained deligient in her role and kept watch through the remainder of the night and a good portion of the new day.

The fog had became lighter as the new day began to creep in from the east but it was still not much help to the tiring clone. The area was still as ominous as before and her task has just been made more difficult as various sounds began to take over the once still forest. The sound of the forest blending in with the sounds of the three unknown travelers, the clone had no recognizition of being spotted until it was too late. As the three senbon sailed through the mist and towards her, the clone was successfully struck twice in the chest and once in the neck. Disappearing in a puddle of water, the clear liquid collided to the ground with a soft splash. The kunai landing tip first into the dirt floor.

Having slept for a good estimated 4-5 hours, Haruko's mind was now automatically drifting back into conciousness. Haruko had learned the dangers of sleeping unprepared in an unknown place the hard way. She had just started out on her solo travels and feeling tired rather quickly. Decided to take a quick nap by a stream in a forest. When she awoke, she was tied up and in some run down shed. She had been kidnapped by bandits who had attempted to keep/sell her stuff and had planned to auction her off as well. Lucky for her, she still had her ninjutsu. Thus, she got out of that predicament pretty much unscared. After that incident, her mind had subconciously stopped her from sleeping too long in fear of being caught defenceless again. Even with her automatic sleep timer stopping her from getting the recommended 8 hours of sleep, Haruko had slowly adjusted to go through the day or night with little sleep.

Drifting betweent the state of unconciousness and conciousness, Haruko was not yet ready to open her eyes just yet. 'Another minute couldn't hurt...' How wrong she was as the sound of her clone losing its form and reverting back into puddle caused her eyes to snap instantly awake. Jolting forward, Haruko was about to leap forward towards the fallen kunai when the sound of a projectile whipping directly over her head and connecting into the tree bark behind her with a resounding 'thunk' sound. Halting mid-jump, Haruko brought both hands to the ground and fingering the grass, could tell that they were wet with morning dew. If anything, she still had a chance to attack.

As the sound of a male voice carried down to her crouched form, Haruko brought her gaze upward and spotted a cloaked figure with his face covered by a large straw hat. Alarms began ringing from the back of her mind as she took in the sight of the three people before her. She couldn't recall what it was exactly that threw her off about seeing them but the fact that she can only barely see their eyes might have helped. Keeping her composure controlled, Haruko steeled her eyes and directed her emotionless amber gaze towards the one who spoke. "And what has a lone wanderer such as myself done to be cornered three to one. A bit unfair the odds don't you think?" Hands still on the ground, Haruko began calculating her chances of escaping. Her chances were low and with her being in unknown territory...her chances have just dropped another ten, twenty percent. 'This being three to one doesn't help my odds either...'

--edited--

Glancing down at her, it would show no ties of any village on her being. The young woman was dressed in a simple lavender and white striped dress. Black open finger gloves cover a great deal of her arm and a light indigo cloak was drapped loosely over her shoulders. A white collar and broach connects the cloak in place. The closest thing to resembling a headband might be the black cloth Haruko uses to tie her hair back but upon closer inspection, they will find no metal plating on it. Appearance wise, Haruko had nothing on her that could cause them to doubt her response aside from the fact that she carried shinobi tools and could use ninjutsu. Other than that, Haruko only had the clothes on her back and whatever was contained in her pouches.

With his kunai striking precisely the way he had expected, Sai had the woman exactly where she needed to be to make sure she would not escape. Staring at the woman with a piercing gaze, his concentration was suddenly broken as his body took the liberty of flaring up his pain at a most inopportune moment. His muscles clenching and his body feeling an intense wave of pain, it took all Sai had to keep himself stable and focus on his Henge to maintain it amidst the immense pressure he felt. His body heating up, his chakra flared somewhat, but then recoiled itself back inward only to add another wave of intense pain.

Biting his lip to avoid screaming, blood would silently trickle down the front of his lip as he felt his breathing become harder and his body become weaker, his muscles tired even though the pain began to dull to the normal levels. Thankful that his disguise would hide his body's shudders, his winced expressions and his heavy breathing as it concealed all but his eyes, Sai wasted no time in the situation, but hoped he would not be forced to act quickly."State the reason for your presence in our forest quickly and you won't have to worry about the odds. What are you doing in this forest?" Sai's question was simple, but he wanted to learn what he could from the woman and he wanted to drag it out until his body had time to recover.

Continuing to stare at the woman intently, he could easily notice that her posture and her darting eyes were sizing up the situation, but her calm reaction spoke a great deal about her. She had awoken against three opponents, and yet her response was calm... not one made in a fearful panic, or one that begged for her safety or for her life. She was clearly a shinobi, and a more confident one at that, which would serve to indicate a moderate rank. Sai would be interested to hear her response.

"You can never know my pain..."

"Trust is a fragile thing, easily tainted and broken..."

Gaze hard and cold, Haruko continued to stare at the figure that first spoke to her. Though her gaze was there, Haruko kept her mind and ear open to the other two. She knew her chances were slim but if they were to pose a threat...she just might have to attempt something. 'But for now, lets play it cool...' When another voice penetrated the still air, Haruko altered her gaze to one of the two cloaked figures in a nearby tree. 'Their forest...? Ha...'

Keeping to her position, Haruko made no move to attack or run. She knew her situation and she wasn't stupid enough to dash off if there was a chance she could get out of this with just words. Though she highly doubted it, the man's words were civil and from their earlier attacks, they could have killed her but didn't. Which means they most likely don't want to get in a fight or at least, cause much disturbance. Taking a moment to consider her answer, Haruko knew she had to choose her words carefully. She had no idea who these people were and as far as she was concerned, had no ties to the village she escaped from. 'But they could still be hunters from elsewhere...'

"I was being chased so I chanced running into this supposedly 'Cursed' forest." Voice controlled, Haruko spoke in a well mannered tone and she kept her answer short and sweet. She knew not who these people were so a general answer should more than surfice. Quickly scanning the area once more, Haruko still found no sure exit and taking deep steady breaths in and out through her nose, Haruko waited for a response from the man. 'I really hate having been caught by that maid now.'

Atsureki Hyuuga
Eyes of the Crimson Dawn
Sensor || Hyuuga || Taijutsu || Akatsuki || Tactical Shibobi

Chakra: 40|| Stamina: 40|| Status: Healthy || Byakugan: Inactive

"The world has forgotten the evil of the Bijuu...

Raising one questioning eyebrowat the woman's response, though of course no one would see it, Atsureki opened his mouth to speak once more before Sai cut him off. While the woman gave her reply, Atsureki spread his focus to the area around them once again, making sure that the woman was truly alone. While he usually trusted more in his ability to sense flows of chakra, he knew that the forest had a way of masking such flows from him. But as his gaze spread all around them, he could see that the woman was well and truly alone. Satisfied that they had no fear of being ambushed, Atsureki returned his attention to the woman in question.

Clearly this woman is no stranger to tense situations, and of course judging by her chakra levels she is an experienced shinobi. So who could have chased her in here?, Atsureki thought to himself at the woman's short response. There was more to the story than she was letting on, and he would be damned if they let her out of his sight without finding out what it was. Looking the woman over, Atsureki could see no head-band, and with clothing like hers it would be difficult to hide such a thing, so was she a missing-nin?

Smiling behind the high-collar of his kimono, Atsureki asked in an amused tone,
"Chased you say? Anyone familiar with this forest knows better than to go wandering into its depths, so either you are incredibly stupid for stumbling so far from where you entered, or you are not from around here. I can tell that you aren't some country bumpkin from your chakra reserves, and yet you don't bare the symbol of any of the so called "Great Villages", which begs the question, where are you from? And perhaps more importantly, what brought you so far from home that you would be chased into this forest?" Aside from being genuinely curious as to this woman's reasons for being here, Atsureki's purpose in continuing the line of questioning, rather than letting Sai do so, was to keep the woman off balance. If she couldn't figure out who was calling the shots, then it might make it all that much more difficult to put together any plan of escape... or attack.

... I intend to help them remember."

Chakra: 90/90

Jouji swung and leaped from branch to branch, slipping between the trees and foliage with ease, and now that he was on the move and pumping with energy his earlier lethargy dissipated prompting him to catch up with his comrades. Although comrades wasn't necessarily the right word, he was allied with them only out of convenience, having few other choices when it came to being both and relatively safe in this world; and should he ever try to leave he would find little rest or freedom elsewhere, Sai would hunt him down. Truly, if things had gone a little differently two years earlier Sain would have been bleeding out and Jouji would be a member of Kirigakure, he had found the village to be quite charming and they had an excellent sampling of men, of course he had never actually breached the topic of betraying the Akatsuki with the leaders of the Mist village, Sai had decided to strike first. Even then he wasn't entirely sure if they would have accepted him, they certainly wouldn't now, despite the fact he advocated for the preservation of the alliance which Sai saw little point in keeping.

Having taken a more roundabout route through the forest Jouji had gone slight off the usual track and as he swung about he thought he heard something like a voice off in the distance, barely audible through the leafy mess about his head. Stopping on the outstretched limb of a giant tree he listened carefully to the forest all about him, however only the call of a bird responded to his silence and he grumbled in annoyance as he then continued through the forest. Turning from his southbound track he began heading to the border of the forest, though considering the speed he was going, he thought he would have caught sight of Sai by now. Looking at his ring as he sped through the air, he tapped it with a finger as his form barely slipped between the entrapment of two tree's branches.

"Trust is a fragile thing, easily tainted and broken..."

As she waited rather anxiously for a response, the man from before spoke again and Haruko found her cold stare drift back to him again. 'Great, an intuitive one. Seems I won't be able to talk my way through here that easily.' Holding back a sigh, Haruko took a moment to reassess the situation while planning out her next set of words. For now, she's only heard two of the three talk and from the way they both spoke, they both had authoritarianism thus making it hard to pick out a leader. 'Unless, this is a ruse to direct my attention from the one not speaking at all...'

In a situation like this, there are multiple possibilities and anyone of them could be pulling the strings. Not knowing their capabilities also puts her in an even greater disadvantage. For all she knew, they could be top ranked assassins which is why three to one is not ideal for her at all. 'And I don't even know if they have back up too...if only I had the ability to sense chakra like grandfather...' Having remained silent for a good minute or so, Haruko decided to try a different tactic. If they were to gain information on her, why not try to gain something from them. She would still be holding things back of course. Knowledge is power and in her already current predicament, giving them too much leverage is definitely not the smartest thing to do. 'But what to do when they keep pressing...'

"I said I was being chased didn't I? This was my best chance at outmaneuvering them." Stopping there, Haruko hoped that it would be enough to halt their questionings seeing as how she would rather not dive into the whole murder issue. Gaze wondering through to all three members before returning to the lone man in the tree, Haruko wondered just what it was they were hiding beneath those large cloaks. 'For all I know, massive weaponry...' Not letting loose her uncertainty, Haruko maintained control over her composure and continued to speak in her plain, unemotional voice. "As to where I'm from, why does it matter? If you insist though, I have no home, I've been without a home since I was born." Technically speaking, Haruko was left without a family at 18, but to her, the moment her father rejected her at her birth left her without a true home. Thus she was homeless from birth. No need to indulge these strangers on the times when she did felt like she had a home cause really, a prison is not a home. No matter the company. 'Well I answered all of their questions...' Deciding to chance gaining some answers, Haruko allowed her gaze to once more wonder across the enemy group before returning back to the one who first spoke to her. "And the three of you? Your associate mentioneed earlier that this was your forest. Care to elaborate?"
