It's all about numbers. The more people take part in an action, the more likely it is Gaia will notice and take action in our favor. So we need to get at least 1000 active members for our guild and hopefully much much more than that.

I heard there are other guilds like this one on Gaia, dedicated to making Gaia a better place for us all. Maybe we can find them and join forces when it comes time to do something. The more the merrier.

So, with this in mind, what ideas do you have to bring good members into the guild while avoiding trolls and trouble makers.

The best I can think of is word of mouth; everyone who joins tells everyone they know is not a trouble maker, etc.

I am hoping for ideas on getting more here faster.

I like the idea of joining up with similar guilds. smile

Probably the most effective way to protest Gaia's actions when the need arises is by having a large group not buy anything with Gaia Cash.. despite any sales, or despite any pitches by Gaia. Money will hit them where it hurts and make them listen to ideas they normally wouldn't give the time of day to.

If we want admins to hear us, I say that we make a large group and also that if something happens to the site again, then that will be our chance. =D

I agree, but even if we protest, there are a bunch of new people who join Gaia online everyday. They wouldnt care aslong as more people are joining them.

Gaia has shown us otherwise. The bg tank strike caused them to undo the reduced glow times and the massive feedback about the new my gaia page has them promising to make changes.

Numbers do matter to them; if people are willing to take the time and organize, they tend to at least listen.

That's right. Like they say: "There's always strength in numbers"

I just hope the finale of one EI today doesn't mean Gaia is going to release 5 more in its place. Gaia has been pretty mean to us lately if you count the uproar over the cigarette ban, the tanks, and the my gaia page.

You know what's annoying? How they come out with too many new ei's in one month. X_X" Not counting there should be an easier way to get the ei's also. Like...maybe an ei shop with the old and the new ei's maybe?

I took part in the bg strike and I think that Gaia actually listened and responded, contrary to its actions in the past.
I think that is because the bg fish are a big cash cow and to threaten to stop buying them (by the folks that actually put out a lot of money-- a full dolphin tank cost $60 plus REAL dollars) really hits them where it hurts, in the pocket.
They might not listen as carefully to concerns about items like the my gaia page-- even though they have adapted it to a lot of concerns. Example: they put trades back where we could see them immediately.
Squeaky wheel does get the oil--
I know that I monitor this guild, but I am extremely busy in real life. When I don't post during lull periods that doesn't mean that I won't be there when you need me.
