well, im not sure if this is the right section to do this, so here it goes.
Well, I'm a clarinet in marching band, bass clarinet in concert, trying out for our schools Wind I ensemble next year on Contrabass as well as thinking of playing in our bands Win II ensemble under Flute or clarinet. I was also on planning on joining Jazz band under alto
well, Im also currently a class council representative, on 5+ commities at a time, and planning on running for president next year. Im going to be on golf teaam (hopeully if i remember to do my ACP) and IM thinking of running for section leader. Now, What I want to know is do you think this is ridiculous?

If you think you can handle it, go for it. Showing leadership in multiple areas at once is a good skill.

Just remember you won't really be able to back out of any of that, though, should you make it.

Sure it's ridiculous, but if you can handle all that and not get stressed out, I think it's great.
Personally, band takes up a lot of my time so it'd be hard to do other activities as well.

I know that a good portion of our Wind Ensemble are involved in multiple activities.

Case and point. Today, we were having club pictures (Link Crew, drama club, NHS, ect.) and it happened to be during band class. The announcement came to leave class for pictures, and over half the band stood up. Our director nearly cried.

I'm in our school's Tutoring Club and Harry Potter Club (and an honorary member of the French club...but I never know when the meetings are. @_@). But I also play in a local Veterans' Band (even though I'm a teenager. razz ), the school's Jazz A, the school's Orchestra, and I get private lessons.

You call that ridiculous? please

I have:
Cross Country Nights: get home at 4:30
Wrestling Nights: Get home at 5:30
Track and Field: Get home at 4:30
Band: Get home at 4:00
Jazz band: Get home at 4:00
Judo for two hours twice a week
Piano lessons every week

And think of this: I have to go to (jazz) band, then go straight to Wrestling. Or Cross Country/Track straight to Band/Jazz band. Then get home, (exhausted) have a shower, do homework, go to Judo/piano and then finish more homework. The only free time I have is on weekends or nights with absolutely no homework.

On Mondays I get home at 5:30. Get ready for my piano lesson beginning at 6:15 get home at 7, eat supper immediately, have a shower, and then finally start Homework around 8.

Not to mention I should be practicing sax at least 40 minutes a day, I should be practicing piano at least an hour a day.

I'm never on the bus after school, and I look forward to band days the most, (not just because I love band) but because I get home around 4, which is early for me. (The few day's I'm on the bus, I get home at 2:30)

With all these activities I'm capable of maintaining a 90+ average, and somehow, I'm able to stay awake during class, because with my little time for homework I go to bed late almost every night.

So don't complain about being in too many things unless you REALLY know what you're talking about.

And side note: I HATE people (not anyone here) at school who talk about having too much homework when they're not involved in anything, Especially if they're in applied (easier courses) 'Cause My friends and I are in a lot of things, and we're in French Immersion. (Hardest classes) and we don't complain, we have averages like 30% higher than them too.

By our standards, here, in hawaii, im pretty..yeah..

People who arent proactive, AT ALL telling you you should take time off to hang out with them or help them with something
OMG judo, I remember doing that in middle school crying

I'm on my school's Science Olympiad team, in a flute quartet, a flute trio, a flute duet and working on a solo, I'm my school's advanced band as a Sophmore(one of only 2 sophmores that made it out of the 21 other current sophmores that tried out) I go to private flute lessons. I'm in theatre for lights and set crews and I'm doing pit orchestra for our next play. I'm in Japanese club and art club as well as helping a new student finding his way around the school(which means that I have to constantly be able to put stuff aside to asist) I teach swim lessons and take karate classes. I have two Japanese penpals. I'm on the teen advisory board for my city's public libraries. I babysit every Monday and Saturday. And I have about 3 hours of homework a night on top of all that(that is 3 hours every night, that doesn't mean I have less on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday if I spread it out evenly) I survive all that without loosing much sleep, my grades are all A's, and I get on here to type stuff like this biggrin I think you'll probably be okay if you manage your time

I'm in theatre and band but it doesn't take too much of my time because I'm not that active in either. I would like to be more active in band but my main instrument is violin and my school doesn't have an orchestra.

Band takes up a fair amount of my free time, and it interferes with a lot of the other activities that I'd planned to take part in during school dropped journalism because I got stuck with it in J block at the same time as rehearsal. I'm in Model UN, but that doesn't really come into conflict with it since it's two days at the end of February.

Although, I did choose to take AP courses, so as the months crawl by towards May, I start to have less and less time as I dedicate it to studying. Also, I'm one of those people who are damn determined to do well in school, so I usually spend about one to two hours doing homework every night, and then I hear people complaining about how they have so much homework and I want to punch them. Last year was the worst since I had AP Biology along with a bunch of twenty level courses that I was struggling in too. XP My work ethic though, is a bit skewed since I don't tend to do my homework until it's about... eight or something since I usually come home and crash on the couch for a few hours cause I'm tired.

I have recurring insomnia that strikes whenever I'm stressed or anxious. XP
