Wellp, everyone, OWO'09 is over. Be sure to make sure you post the end result of your workings in your threads, even if they didn't reach an end. Post a link to your thread if you've added stuff and seal in your entry. In a while, you can start rating the other member's work in this thread, as well. Feel free to post your thoughts on OWO and anything related to it that have occurred to you in the past month here.

Azana Brown's "Arts and Crafts" Conclusion
So, after a whole month, I've definitely learned a thing or two: 1.) The holidays, while being off school and all, are a LOUSY time to try magic. I spent my whole break running errands and doing chores for others. 2.) Boyfriends are also difficult to work around. 3.) I have an overall lack of self-discipline when it comes to productivity.
That being said, let's get to the Tasks I set forth.
Makin' Miracles: I tried some energy healing on my loving boyfriend's hands, and I did succeed in transfer, since my boy told me to stop (his hands were tingling). However, his overall disbelief in my ability to help him prevented me from doing much more (without permission/belief, no healing will be productive.) So, from now on, all I can do is nag him about using that Aquaphor every day.
(Mission: Failed)
Wizard's Way: This was the most productive one, with my getting through the first course (of seven), which was pretty basic but had some exercises I'll want to jot down in further tutorials and use in my common practices. I made my magical journal (though my writing has decreased), already had an altar up, and came up with two or three Colors (magical departments) I wanted to work with. I hope to continue these studies soon.
(Mission: Success!)
Toil and Trouble: This one got heavily stunted due to lack of time, access to ingredients, and difficulty in hashing out a tasty recipe. I do plan to continue pursuing this (especially given I was given some metal flasks as a gift!) The "Rekindling Romance" potion is still in the works, but once I get a loose ingredient list together, I will post.
(Mission: Bit of both?)
Tools of the Trade: This one got canceled halfway through since I had no time to make the item nor did I have the capability of dragging it back and forth between cities. However, the Wizard's Way texts provide some good "how-to"s for many of the tools, so this may happen sooner than I ever thought. Now...to find me a sewing machine...
(Mission: Withdrawn, but hopeful!)

This may be the wrong place to mention this, but I thought I would as you may find it helpful. Be careful with metal utensils when it comes to herbs/potions/etc. In alchemy, metals are very powerful and their energies can overpower the energies of herbs/tinctures/elixirs that are put in them. This is why when making a tincture it should never come in contact with metal. That is, according to the practices of alchemy. Your mileage may vary, but I thought I would mention it in case it could benefit you. Also, never, ever, use aluminum utensils as aluminum is an energy sponge and overall has some allegedly bad health effects. Once again, according to the practices of alchemy, the only usable form of aluminum is aluminum salts as these are considered to be "quenched". Just something to be aware of if you weren't already.

Also, I was thinking, that depending on what type of metal the bottles are made of, they might be used to actually augment the effects of the potion if the metal's energies and the potion's happen to be similar. I don't know of any precedents, but it might be neat to try.

Original Final Postaaarhus You could say in the race for the gold, I've tripped and face planted somewhere like -now-. I've been willing to try to pursue this particular set of hand signs of this particular order. It was somewhat on a whim... it fit the bill for something I hadn't done, and it seemed interesting. I feel I've learned something... you see, at work I didn't do something I should have, and it resulted in someone being hurt, and yet that person (whoever it might be) didn't press charges. I really wish I could have met them to apologize. It's this simple fact that makes me realize that perhaps I didn't pay enough attention, let things slip. In thinking this I kind of realized regarding the "nine cuts" I was being willy nilly with it. Nothing important. In doing nothing important with it I then began to wonder if this was some sort of weird way of karma telling me to stop fooling around for at least enough to pay attention to things in a true sense. So... I pick myself up... and go off to join the cheering crowd, hoping the race going on for these next four days will perhaps yield a more sought for success than my own realization, although I believe I gladly accept this consolation prize... heart Yeah... I've paid more attention at work. I've noticed things other people have failed to do... I hope to not be in trouble for not being able to fix these things as often as they happen. I've fallen back to a more mundane set of goals... I recently purchased another Zodiac 2 which should help with hypnosis file listening, and on a less mundane note, someone did once joke that the device was a "time machine". I've kind of wondered if I could work my mundane possessions to more... interesting tasks as a result. Again, I find I kind of just dabble into things without even seeing if it has a basis, but later find it does in a way, and sometimes it doesn't and more often than not my pursuits are led astray before I achieve even a failure, less often a success. When I get a success though it's something I'm personally amazed with. I'd like to do something like this again... if only I knew what kind of basis I could do. Perhaps I'll just try to post my progress on hypnosis. Especially if my one friend would get his butt back down here from Canada. sweatdrop

As for my own project, as you can see I haven't updated it, and seeing as I regard it as a failure I'm not going to repost the thread here for rating. If anyone's interested in seeing me finish it, let me know, and I might be inspired to work on it more. I will try to finish it in my own time, though.

Christ, I didn't half fail hard at this. That said, my excuse is that doing stuff over the holidays away from my home and my stuff didn't lend itself well to my project, so I eventually just thought "******** this". Bah humbug. D<

As far as that idea, I suggest mid July to mid August for the next one...Most students are on summer vacation, and we avoid July 4th and that stuff.

Summer Olympics! biggrin More daylight, more energy, and less familial obligation!
But for now, perhaps we should start "judging" our medal winners?

Do we all just say who we think should get top honors, or do we establish some kind of one-to-ten scale on each project? I don't remember if we ever standardized the judging.
