Housing Development North

For the low-income families of Carter City, the development is home. Rows of apartment complexes spread far and wide.

(Commence primary ignition.))

It was only a while ago that they had been dropped into the area. His skin crawled when he thought of those he was to be fighting along side. Demons and blasphemies before the Lord in Heaven and here he was fighting with them, comrades in arms if one was to think so perverse. But it is said that war makes strange bed fellows and it was only proving itself. Taking the situation Fischig open and closed his fingers along the length of his flamer, the reasuring weight giving him comfort as he mutter a prayer to God.

Turning to the others, "We have a task before us, remeber only in death does duty end. So there will be no retreating. We shall cleanse this land of the taint and we shall salt it with the ashes of the slain. Today we take the field of battle and we slay." These words he spoke as he motioned for them to move towards a tower which dominated the area, to his left and slightly behind was the twenty foot high road that ran through the town. Every so often he would look to it, wondering if any eyes watched from above.

Alan nodded to his companions and grinned.
"I better get you guys some way to keep in touch. I'll be back. Nascen, you've allready got a headset. Turn it to channel nine and you can keep in contact with me."
Alan jogged over to a house with an attatched garage that had a low roof. and hopped up in a corner between two walls. He pressed his foot against one wall and propelled himself upwards to grab the edge of the garage roof. He pulled himself up onto the roof and from there hopped up ontop of the house. He looked around the neighborhood from his perch atop the roof.
"Looks like the robots have been here. Theres a handfull of dead bodies on the street." He said, pointing his team towards the corner where the street they were on met the street with the bodies on it.

This cloak swept gently in the in the wind. His hands stuffed inside pockets that lay in the innerflap of his favorite piece of clothing... the cloak that was. "Must you be so melodramatic?" Sol asked with is head slightly tilted to the left letting all of his razor sharp teeth flash in the light like glimmering pearls. He was a demon... one of the most rotten to the core and all he desired was opponents he could kill.

Slowly he walked up to the Inquisitor and loomed down over the mortal. This one was quite tall but he was taller. "Do you wish to see me dead mortal?" He asked slylie trying to press this ones buttons as best as he could.

"That's correct Mr. Fischig. We won't retreat; we won't need to." Nascen said with a small smile, kissing the cross around his neck and tucking it back into his shirt. Heading towards the tower, he knew he had only God's protection to make him so confident; he'd be rellying heavily on the others of course, if anything came up. But he'd be there to pull them out of tough spots too.
"After we're positioned there, where is our next immediate objective position? I assume you all also favor seaching immediatly for the targets?" he asked, changing his headset's channel.

"Dead? Why of course I'll see you die on the end of my blade and consumed in flame. But for now you live by my grace." Fischig didn't like the creature and he never would but that wouldn't prevent him from using him in battle.

Turning his head as he listen to Alan point out signs of dead he moved along the walls of the closest building. Moving closer he looked to the bodies. Seeing the area supposibly clear he motioned for the others. "Okay you bastards, grab what you can."

Moving towards the first body he turned the corpse over, it had been maimed but still reconisable as what once was a young man. Saying the last rites over the body he went through what was on it. Coming away with a combat knife he stuck it in his belt before moving to the next where he found a head set. Taking off his helm he positioned it and tuned through the frequencies, hoping to get some intel on what the military was actually doing. Donning his helm once more he crept to another and took a side arm revolver and infared goggles.

Looking out, "Okay, we've been out in the clear too long, time to make to the tower."

Nascen grabbed grenades and a combat knife himself, crossing himself each time he picked over a body, apologizing to the dead man as he did. If he'd had time, he would have buried them and had some sort of a personal service, but they were all rushed, and they had something to accomplish. He headed back over the the tower in silence, save for crossing himself and apologizing where he stepped over a body.

He grinned sadistically at the human then stopped suddenly savoring the words he has just said. As the others went over the bodies he merely kicked a few over and dismissed them for nothing of use to him. After hearing the man speak once more he decided it would be best to tag along just to add to the blood pressure. "Sure..." Was all he said as he followed quietly grinning once again.

Alan clambered down from the roof of the house and ran across the street. He flipped his headset on. "Can you guys hear me allright?" He asked as he hopped over a fence into a yard. He didnt have to hop over the fence when he exited the yard, it had allready been ripped out of the ground.
"Looks like they went due North from here at one point, no telling how long ago though."

Instinctively moving his hand to his ear as he heard the voice, "Alan I can hear you. You say they move north?" He got a short mark of confirmation, "Okay then, here is what we are going to do, do you see that tower?" Again another burst of static before a sound came again in agreement, "Okay, so we are heading towards it, we are going to take it and set the sniper up there, I'm going to need you to scout around the area so we aren't taken by surprise."

Looking towards the demon, "Hellspawn, after we get that done you and I are going to take on a little hunting. I'm sure your up to the task." Behind his helm he was grinning, it had been a long year since he had last entered combat and the fingers in his left hand had that dull ache of expecatation.

4 barely detectable tendrils of telepathic ability slithered into the area, searching for living minds. To anyone with a whit of telepathic ability, they would seem to be four snakes, glowing dimly gold against the night, coming from the southeast. To the naked eye, however, they were invisible.

They flitted and twisted through the air, swooping down and swirling about any minds they might sense below, tongues hissing as they scouted. There was a mind here, was there not? Were there minds here undefended? Should they, perhaps, take a look, and see what secrets the minds held?

((Okay...anyone who has telepathic abilities (or something else that you think should let you see 4 tiny tiny pieces of telepathic energy) can notice the snakes if they beat my die roll + 17.

EDIT: Have to beat a thirty. 3nodding

They are searching for any minds in the area, and scoping out whether or not those minds are defended. Generally, anything with a soul is considered to have a "mind" whether or not they technically have a living, physical brain. If for some reason they should be unable to detect your character, let me know. If your mind seems to have defenses around it, and you think the snakes could tell, let me know. ))

"I'm heading northwest to the highway. No sign of anybody or any of the robots around here." Alan said after climbing another house to get his bearings and look around the area. He hopped from the house to a second house directly next to it and rolled across the flat roof.
He jumped down from the roof and crossed the street to stand underneath the highway.

The hexagrammic wards flared briefly against his flesh, searing a familiar imprint upon his body. "s**t! Listen up everyone, someones trying to read us, think confusing thoughts. Do it now!" If their cover was blown this early they would lose the element of surprise. Whispering thanks to God for the skill of his ordo and their artificers. "Thank you god for the tools you give me to fight in your name."

"Praise to God and thanks to Fischig-" he spat out quickly, and turned his mind to fruit; he thought about every type of fruit he knew, and the taste, hurrying quickly away after Alan, eyes straight down so as not to show an image of their position.
