In the M&R and in another guild there's a debate asking if Messianic Jews are actually Jews.
A few people claim that Orthodox Jews think that those who have mothers who are Jewish, are Jews themselves. And there are a few Christians that claim that since Jesus was a Jew, then Messianics are Jews too.
So here's the question, Are Messianics actually Jews? What makes them Jews. If they aren't Jewish, then what makes them not Jewish? Does the whole Jewish community agree that Messianics aren't Jews?

B"H They can NOT be jewish unless by race from mother or conversion....(Not messianc conversion). The Jews are WAITING for the Meshiac, if you think jesus is the Mashiac well then you are christan.

talk2hand I know you want to bring the debate from the "Debate/ Discuss Religion" guild to the Jewish Gaians Guild, but we already have several threads about this.
Yes, I am a member of both guilds, too, remember?

But, seriously, with all the J4J threads here already you just had to make a new one because of the M&R idiocy guild? Really?

I made a thread as Flavius Josephus in the M&R and I think she just made it here to see what Jews actually think about Messianic Jews. Personally, I don't think we actually care. You know I do it for the kicks and to annoy everyone from the M&R. It's the same response I give people when they ask "What do Jews think of Jesus?" I just look at them and say "Jews don't think much of Jesus, he's just not a part of our world. If he existed and if he was a Jew (I have my doubts) then I'm sure he was a good rabbi, otherwise, he's just not up for discussion".

And I did not know you were also Flavius Josephus..

Messianic Jews =/= Jews for one reason: they worship Jesus. Worship a human being as your G-d is the antithesis of Judaism! The sheer arrogance involved in calling yourself a god, or at least a demigod, disgusts me!

A lot of them aren't even Jews ethnically. They're gentiles who think accepting Jesus makes you a Jew.
In short, they're tossers.
