I guess I'd call it a faith, a relationship and a Hope. Capital letters intended there.

lets see, religion in the basis of it's Latin roots means regulations which in reality is what all Faiths are, Muslim, Jewish, and Christianity (Mormons included) It is however also a Faith we are believing in an unseen being that if we do all the things that he has told us to do we will be happy Myself being Mormon we also call it a relationship, the leaders of the church constantly telling us to read the Book of Mormon every day and praying in the like so we can have a better day, for some of you who don't believe think that praying has any possible way of helping you be happier then how many of you write private journals... and if you do it is basically the same concept except not outloud

I suppose it's a religion, but that's not the point of it. Jesus came to save so really it's God's attempt to reach us. In my opinion, it's all about having a relationship with the Lord. heart heart heart

I'm a former Christian, I'll try this... I think that Christianity in its pure form is having a relationship with God and Jesus first. And trying to stay away from things that God and Jesus dissapprove of, because it makes a distance between you and them. But modern Christians that I've met [the kind at my family's church, and my family] believe that it's about converting people, advertising their faith, and condemning other people who aren't Christian. There are people trying to convert everyone in our area, and they give good Christians a bad name. Just my two cents, anyone can correct me if I've mis-stated something.

Define Christianity:
I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages;
Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made.
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried;
And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end.
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets.
In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come.
Amen.

The Religion of most people in the Western world, including my father. It is based in belief in some random guy named Jesus Christ being the Messiah despite not fitting all the requirements of the Messiah, go figure. THough often not so in modern practice, It is Evangelical in origin. It has caused tons of persecution resulting in countless millions of deaths since its beginning in the early years of the Common Era. Its common stereotype is one of ignorance and pushing beliefs upon unwilling others. It preaches tenets of Faith, love, and hope.

A religion based on the teachings of Christ and the worship of YHWH that has, unfortunately, been misappropriated by numerous people over the ages to validate their own idiocy, bigotry, or desires.
Depending on the practitioner, worship of YHWH can take the form of a "personal relationship" with Him. (And personally I'd recommend at least trying to achieve this to any Christian.)
pirate tsuinu-san: Not all forms of Christianity are monotheistic, actually. I'm personally a monolateralist.
