Lookit all the screenshots!
First of all, I do feel somewhat pleased and flattered about this.
On the other hand...
*listens to crickets chirping*
There seem to be more cosplayers than active GIB agents.
The question haunts me. Are we a dead guild? Are they cosplaying us, or just our NPC representative? Have we become obsolete? Replaced with a machine? Do people even know that we exist, or is GIB merely seen as an NPC organization like G Corp?
Thoughts? Opinions?
I AM happy when I see those pictures. Even if no one else knows that we started it all...

We need to brainstorm. How can we increase awareness? I for one am changing my randosig to be GIB-only related material, and causing it to link to our guild.
Any ideas, agents?
On a completely unrelated note, one of those cosplayers has a great idea! The lead pipe makes for a good makeshift neuralizer. Never thought of that!

Or I think I should dress on my ... GiB special armor and spread the word we are here although... isn't the idea of a secret agency supposed to be... secret?

Well, we're not a dead guild.
But I do think that they were cosplaying our NPC representatives, not us, the real group. And I do worry that an increasing amount of people are indeed playing zOMG, getting to the Old Aqueduct, learning about Agent Caruthers, and mistakenly thinking that like, say, the pirates or the people in Otami, that the developers made the GiB up specifically for the game. And that's pretty worrying, to me.
Something needs to be done, in my humble opinion. Perhaps that fanthread that was being suggested? Maybe some sort of big party-meeting thing in zOMG?
Yknow, when I think about it, it must be awesome to have started a group like this, even if NPCs are taking it over. Congratulations, man. >>

As far as the whole "secret organization" thing goes, we've NEVER been secret. The official story is that we "stepped out of the shadows" the day the Zurg arrived. Well, I looked at the rules for the zOMG! forum, and compared it to the GCD rules. zOMG! had nothing on fanthreads, but GCD had this.
Quote: Fanthreads must be about a character from somewhere on the site or an evolving item. "Characters" include named NPCs, mystery characters from the main storyline and NPCs from zOMG (not monsters).
So it seems that such a fanthread would belong in the GCD, but putting it in the zOMG forum wouldn't hurt, either. Worst thing that could happen is being put in the GCD.
And yes, if you're up to Papa Saw, you're close to the Aqueduct. Just make sure you're 65.3ish and above, or have a crew, because the mobbing in that place is INTENSE. (I recommend farming Anchors in Buccaneer Boardwalk. Someone gives you a repeatable quest to do it in GB, but they count, too)

Yep, just checked myself. The GCD rules on fanthreads say that ZOMG NPC fanthreads belong there. Also, a quick search for both Agent Caruthers and Concerned Citizen did not reveal a fanthread for him. I did find this guy and his friends, though. Ah, imitators. It takes me back. SO! I'm excited about this.

Nothing says "WE'RE REAL" like coffee mugs and pamphlets.
Seriously, though. I think the fanthread ideas will do great. Since the NPCs showed up around zOMG, people've almost completely forgotten that we exist.
