The Present* 11-10 - Gongjin stumbles upon Setsushi's Udon-ya and meets Shuuken and Kanna. He tells Aryn about his run in with Shuuken. * 11-11 - Gongjin finds Xue while trying to locate the Udon-ya and both are rescued from being lost by Yousei. And luckily for Gongjin, Nusumu is not mad at him for disappearing. * 11-19 - Gongjin remembers he has concert tickets! He and Aryn run into Adler while trying to locate the Symphony Hall where Kanna's concert will take place. The Past

With a bit of study, he can become fairly familiar with them. He has no trouble understanding the spoken version of a written language he knows, but he can be very hesitant and unsure when speaking it himself. Reading - He will read whatever he gets his hands on, no matter if it's fiction, non-fiction, how-to, humor, or the FREAKING DICTIONARY. Aryn's extensive collection is HEAVEN for him and, like her, he can spend HOURS in a bookstore... but he'd spend it reading things. Discovery - He's very interested in discovering what things/skills he can master heart and soul, master only with his hands and mind, and what he can only master the concept/theory of. He'll try anything that sounds remotely interesting to him. Practical - He does like doing practical things, like cooking/learning to cook, cleaning, and looking after things/people/pets. He LOVES being a taste testing guinea pig, especially when Nusumu's the cook. Creative - Creative things are spur of the moment and abandoned just as quickly a lot of times. They're mainly stress or inspiration relief or notes/idea grasping help. Meditative - When certain passages or word study stump him, Gongjin likes to find a quiet spot to meditate on the problem and clear his mind. And sometimes he likes to do it just for the zen feeling afterward and like of confusing the household with platitudes. More often than not, the quiet spot is the shallow end of Aryn's koi pond, preferably under the small waterfall. Even more preferably, when it's raining. Occupation:Housekeeper/caretaker/personal assistant - With all the things she gets occupied with constantly, Gongjin helps keep things on track and clean when she can't/forgets. He's also the babysitter for Jumi Twins currently in Aryn's care. He doesn't mind; he likes taking care of people as long as he gets time to read while he's at it. Notes on Gongjin:- Like many of the other Dragonlamp children, Gongjin is much older than he appears. He has grown through adulthood (Sleeping) once before, but was reduced to a child again (Dreaming) when Boyan found the Celestial Chaos in Dragonlamp and triggered a restoration. Over the next four or so years, he gradually grew to his current youth state. There have been subtle changes of transition from a restored Porcelain to a biologically ancient one during that time. - Aryn suspects that Gongjin's talent with languages is the reason he learned to read so quickly when he first came Aryn's care. Aryn's tendency to think more than she says may have also helped with that and his understanding of Gaian. - Gongjin's speech patterns resemble mindspeak's third person feel. He understands how "I," "me," etc. work and how they would apply to him in a communication scenario but he doesn't usually use them when speaking. He will favor them in writing and only occasionally slip into third person. - He doesn't particularly care for speaking aloud if he doesn't need to, ie: at home or when he's speaking to another Porcelain or emphatically or mindspeak receptive person. He's embarrassed with his hesitancy with speaking aloud but stubbornly continues to rely mostly on mindspeak because of his original childhood when Porcelain were not made for talking. He will make the effort to speak aloud if the person he's talking to is closed or has trouble understanding mindspeak. - Like several of the others, Gongjin only has a child's vaguest memories of Dragonlamp: tall shining lamps, dark misty streets, and an overall sense of fear and despair like a long ago vivid nightmare where the images why have faded but the feeling lingers years on. He and Aryn did not make the journey back to Dragonlamp like a few others did to find more children to rescue and discover what they could about the place. - Unknown to him, Gongjin's previous incarnation was a Sorcerer. Gongjin shows very little interest in learning magic himself (he gets enough of it watching Aryn) while he does find the theory interesting. Which may be a good thing. (OOC: curious to see how the incarnation's character has changed since the first shop or if it remains similar)

Video Games - Her current gaming tastes tend to be adventure and puzzle with a great heaping of hack & slash/demon hunting YES PLEASE. Dynasty Warriors and Devil May Cry make up the majority of the recent/played titles she owns, but she wants to get in on the Guilty Gear action. Occupation(s):Office Assistant - During the majority of the week, Aryn works at a local small company doing any little task her boss assigns her: assembling documents, printing certain documents, making databases, etc. The work can get dull and tedious, but she likes her boss and doesn't mind being useful to her. This is her main "pay the bills" job. Aquarium Staff - Mostly on weekends, Aryn helps out/works at Beta Aquarium. She fields questions, updates sale records/info, sells available fish, sets up sales for new fish, breeds fish, makes them pretty, and researches new special edition breeds. Again, the work is sometimes tedious and dealing with impatient/stubborn people is NOT her strong point, but she does love working with the fish. While it helps with the bills, this is mostly her entertainment fund job. Mage - Given her like of fantasy novels/movies, you'd think this would be her favorite job. On the contrary, it's more of a chore, given how busy her normal life is. Having marginally passed the training exam (finally), every 3 or 6 months, she's required to report for "duty," the activities of which range from Theo harassing her for five hours to seminars that are occasionally interesting to actually doing healing work. Not so much a job as a requirement. Notes on Aryn:- Aryn is a magic user of immense potential but moderate skill/control, causing a few other magic users she knows to consider her a waste of space/talent. She has enough conscious control to keep from hurting herself and to do some minor amusements/wardings/potions, but not enough to do something impressive. - Her magic is element based, normally involving combining several elements to get a result or using a pure one for something basic. It also seems to be "alive," for lack of a better term, concerned with keeping her and itself alive and functioning and subtly encouraging her when things are down. - The potion making, or at least the majority of recipes Aryn owns, do not actually require being infused with magic. Gongjin could do them if he was so inclined (and has threatened a time or two, in the case of sleeping draughts). - Theo (fellow magic user and temporary trainer) bet a few other magic users that Aryn would be able to pass the training exam and has since collected a tidy sum for it. The only reason Aryn even attempted it was the promising outlook that Theo might stop HARASSING HER if she did. Unfortunately, he became a more permanent fixture since he assigned himself her further training supervisor. (New character for development YAY! XD)
