Has this ever happened to you?
You wait months obsessing over a game that's going to come out soon, read impressions, squeal at every new trailer and when it gets close to releasing time...you find out that it's only for one system and you can't play it because you don't have the system.
That's how it was for Tales of Symphonia for me...and now Tales of Vesperia...what the hell? I am SO unlucky this year and they were saying it was for PS3 too... crying
Is there anyone else you shares a similar pain?

I can't say I've ever been in that situation, only because while I'm looking up info about a game, the console it will be available on is usually the first thing I check for.
I like when games that are exclusively for a console I don't have later become available on PC. PC ports are the only reason I am able to play Halo, Fable, Prince of Persia, and Assassin's Creed.

Systems are generally one of the first things I check, so I can't say that's happened too often. On the other hand, one thing that does occur every so often is I get interested in a game only to find out that it's not going to be released in America.

Ohhhh man, yeah. >> I was really upset that Rune Factory 2 had been in Japan for a year already, still with no North American release date. I figured all hope was lost.
BUT! Just last month, it finally got a release date~ Now I just need the monies for it.
Still, it took them a frigging long time.

That's good to hear. A lot of games get skipped over for releases outside of Japan, so a late release date is always nice. I don't seem to be so lucky with Mother 3. Darn you, NoA...

I know, that drives me crazy. gonk
When we started working on a new kind of gaming at work, I insisted that it be built online in Flash so anyone on the planet could play it. Having missed too many games I wanted to play because I didn't have the right 0/S on my computer or the right console system, I wanted to make sure this game was compatible with everyone everywhere. wink

Score for me! I have a wii. surprised I liked ToS but I still haven't beat it. I'm stuck in some place with Elves and all that crap. >_< Anyway, like someone else said, I play a lot of ports. I have a PC. I love the graphics for Oblivion. I suck at the xbox controls. sweatdrop

→ that's r a d t a b u l o u s ∙ ∞ =[ Tales of Vespera for sure. I can't even look at ToS without a sliver of my soul dying (It's a long story, don't ask.) I was so excited for Tales of Vespera, thinking, "Yesssss finally a Tales game I won't have to burn my hands after I play it" and then BLAM "HAWHAW IT'S ONLY FOR THE PS3." Now I think "... SADFACE."
The new Golden Axe too. I don't have a PS3 OR an Xbox 360 D: It looks so amazing though. fersure♥

I thought Tales of Vespera was for the PS2. I didn't even know that there was going to be a new Golden Axe. I should check it out, though I don't have a PS3 either... sad

....Everything I want is on the Wii....
I also have the problem of wanting really old games that are on outdated systems that aren't sold anymore.

What I hate is something similar; games (particularly sequels) that you find out are online-only, or that are only really playable like they were meant to be when played online. But I HAVE experienced the topic before, yes.
