I've heard enough s**t about my piercings, especially at work. But today I got just an absolutely disgusting comment about them while at work.
So I'm cashing out this man who is just giving me these dirty looks as I am cashing him out. Then he opens his mouth and asks;
"Why'd you have to go and punch your self up?"
"Excuse me?"
"All the holes, why the hell would you do that to your self?"
"Because I like it. confused "
"Okaay.... If I were your parents or your boyfriend I'd beat you because of them"
"Well you're not."
"Yeah, lucky for you."
Oh man. Ive never been so pissed off at someone saying something about my piercings.
Anyone else been threatened physically because of their mods?
And the underlined stuff is the man speaking.

Dear god. It's bad enough he'd judge you for them, but "If I was your boyfriend, I'd beat you"?!?! What the hell. I...I can't even imagine what I'd have done if it was me in your shoes. Likely something that would've gotten me fired.

Oh man! That's awful. How awkward of a situation, too! I hated it when I worked retail and customers would make rude comments about my piercings. It's so hard to be professional sometimes...

Tight Waist, Cute Face... Even if I didn't have a temper, I'd still have had a hard time being professional.. I'd have jumped over the counter and wailed on the a*****e.
How dare he! If he were your boyfriend, he'd beat you for them? How much of an insecure, shallow minded moron is he? Men like that make me so mad... >.< No man should ever beat a woman, regardless! You shouldn't even suggest you would! *head explodes from angry* Any man who's raised a fist at me before has got what he deserves, i.e. a pair of New Rocks to his lower regions. Some men just deserve to have rabid dogs set on them.
I've had a few encounters with people who have threatened me for my mods, even attempted to reach out and pull them out of my face, but never in a workplace/professional area.. That's just disgusting, since when did being decent and polite to people become too much effort?

I hate so many of the assumptions people make of people who are pierced. I've had quite a few people assume that I was sexually promiscuous simply because of my metal. ;_; So what if I think it looks pretty? None of the ones I have that are visible are gonna be useful in bed. xd

Yeah... sounds like the guy's got some issues. Hopefully he'll be caught in the act of beating on someone and wind up spending some quality time behind bars becoming someone's b***h. That's my polite hope, anyways.
Geeze, it sounds like a lot of people here have caught a lot of flack for their mods... is it like that in most places? The most I've ever gotten was curiosity, some dirty looks, and the occasional odd question from some scary old man.

Well I live and work in a low income area. A lot of our customers are "gangstas", crack heads, drunks, or both.
A majority of the mods I see on customers are just really bad old tattoos and prison tattoos.
I've gotten lots of s**t from customers because of my piercings but none like that.
Normally I wouldnt of been afraid to yell at the customers when they say s**t like that but I was just shocked and put back. So by the time I really digested it he was gone and I was really pissed and just wanting to just knock him out.

or his life is just really empty and sad.
or his brain has not yet developed past that of ancient neanderthal.
if his only coping mechanism to things that confuse and surprise him is brute violence...
just be glad that you aren't such a pitiful beast.

i have lived in many small towns and have always looked .. weird pretty ... and rarely if ever have people been downright mean or rude to me. (we will ignore high school crying )
old people love to stare, but i figure their earlobes are bigger than mine so ...
youngsters love to say i look funny ...
and once, in the mall, these cookie-cutter tweens tried to take my picture whilst i was browsing the clearance rack,
but no ones ever even hinted at violence (barring public school ... emo lol unresolved issues )
i feel terrible for you guys that get s**t for your appearance.
i hope yall just chalk it up to the fact that there is a certain percentage of people who are just assholes, and they're not worth stressing about.

Well I live in the biggest city in my country.
I just happen to live in one of the more "ghetto" areas.
When Im in the downtown area I get no problems.
Its mostly just work where I get a lot of hassle over it. But I'm one of the fastest cashiers with the least amount of shortages and have been there for almost 2 years now. They're not going to fire me over my piercings, so I just have to put up with the a*****e customers commenting.
Though there are those few nice comments. Cutest comment ever, a little girl pointed to me and said "Mommy, she has her heart pierced!" and my sternum piercing.

Probably like 4 or 5. I used to be a soccer coach and coached 5 year olds. The questions they asked were always the cutest.

Little kids' questions always are just because they "don't know better". I get a lot of "what's on her face??" or "look mommy!! her hair is red!!" Sometimes the parents laugh and apologize and other times, I get the "don't look at her" shove away with the child. Eh.
My ex boyfriend was sitting at the bookstore once with a big green mohawk and some little kid walked by and goes "look, mommy!! a dinosaur!!" I love that story. xD
