Miss Haruka Hamano, or typically referred to as Lavrice is much of a busy body. She tends to all four of her children, runs the budgeting and marketing of the family business, has her own clothes line in which she must keep designing for, owns eight hotels all across the world, runs a cruise line, and is still able to look dashing with her outfits! Miss Hamano
has a very young looking face, even for the age of 42. It was those looks
that also drew in the love of her life, Mark Hamano. Lavrice has a very uplifting personality, though she doesn't take crap from anyone. Get on her good side, tis all I have to tell you. Many try to guess that Lavrice is Hamako's aunt, rather than her mother.

Father: Mark Hamano
Age: 44
American

Mark Hamano is the soulmate to Haruka Hamano. His has amazing looks when it comes to a man of 44. Mark also runs the family business of owning a ball jointed doll factory. He holds the talent of making these wonderful dolls appear real. He has much of a dorky personality, even with his looks drawing astray to lead those that he is cool and cunning. Hamako looks much like her father, and it is also why most people know on contact of meeting that they are related.

Sibling: Trixy Hamano
Age: 18
American
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Trixy is the oldest sibling between the four Hamano siblings. She is much of a wild child and loves everything adventurous and exciting. Trixy is more of a cross between her mother and father. Trixy once however had bright blond hair that went passed her hips. But when she entered into her teenage years, she cut her hair short and streaked it green, also her favorite color. Her parents disapproved of her appearance and banned her from ever taking part in things that flaunted their importance.

Sibling: Princess Hamano
Age: 16
American
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Just like her name applies, Princess is the 'princess' of the Hamano family. She believes everyone should bow down in her entrance of a room and refer to her as royalty. She has a love of things pink and fluffy and also buys everything expensive that is well...pink and fluffy. Princess also has a dislike of her sister Hamako, believing that she will be the downfall of the Hamano empire. She mostly never states Hamako's name, and if she does, it always ends with the word, "b*tch".

Sibling: Akito Hamano
Age: 17
American

Akito is a hyperactive and lovely girl who idolizes her sister Princess. Squaring down to even the way her older sister dresses, this Hamano has quite the attitude. The direct reflection of Princess.

Closely Knit People to Hamako/Hamano Family

Korean/French
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

MeiMei is one of the maids at the Hamano Mansion. She has lived there since she was 12 and is the caretaker of Hamako. This young woman lost her family due to unknown reasons. Since she had no one to live with at such a young age, she became a maid in the Hamano mansion to have a place to be sheltered and be served three square meals a day. She has knew Hamako since birth and has become once of her closest friends. In secret, MeiMei is in love with Hamako's father. But due to age difference and her already dedicating her life to the Hamano name, she cannot tell her feelings.

Butler: Nao Tachibana

This college student is also a butler at the Hamano Mansion. He is also the caretaker of Akito. Nao had decided to take a job at the Hamano mansion to prevent himself from paying to live in a dorm. The money he makes from being a butler is also used to pay for his tuition. He has known Akito for very little time, but has grown fond of the girls's charm. Akito also has feelings for him though does not express it. Nao knows of Akito's love interest, but hides from ever telling her an answer as it would interfere with his job of being a butler.

Friend: Izikiel Combings
Age:
Unknown; but appears to be the same age as Hamako
Unknown; buts looks like he has Russian in him
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Very little is known about Izikiel, except his name. He met Hamako outside in the garden during the Gentlemen's Ball, and apparently made Hamako develop feelings for him. It is also apparent that he is a commoner and does not hold any ties with rich names. He seems to have an interest in photographing birds. That is about all that is known about him. It is also quite unknown if Hamako would ever get to see him again also.

Cousin: Poji Paji Hamano
Age: 8
Italian/Japanese
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Poji Paji is the young, but cute and annoying cousin of the Hamano siblings. Any information about her background is quite unknown, as she just showed up on the Hamano property introducing herself. She apparently has the Hamano last name, but Mark Hamano was an only child to which he remembers. Could it be that Mark has a brother he never met? Truth be told, Poji Paji can't remember her father so it is quite unknown still. She stops by the Hamano mansion every so other week. She normally wears yellow also, falling in love with the Ouran uniforms and hoping to go the High School one day. She favorites Hamako much and always refers to her as "Tanpopo-tan." Which ideally means Dandelion. Poji Paji, even at her young age, runs a company. She sell plush animals which is quite a hit with the younger generation. Her Cocker Spaniel's name is Chiya, whom Hamako is obviously afraid of.

Mitsuko
- She's a happy person! Very nice to meet her. :3 Lucas has grown a liking to her too...^^ And that rarely happens. She is clumsy too. D: Better be aware of that...

Satu - A kind guy! I have talked to him every once in a while, and he is a very gentle person. :3 But his hair scares me. I am not found of his pink highlights. D: But Hamako can see passed that! I shared cherries with him one day after he broke out with a disagreement with Audric over a tic-tac-toe game. I am glad everything was sorted out. >w<

Audric - Another kind blonde~! He is gentle and kind too...And he seems very close to Satu. Hamako means really close! Like really, really close! Hamako is not positive, but she thinks there is feelings between Audric and Satu. Well, if there is...Hamako is rooting for you Audric-kun! ^/////^ (Hamako doesn't care what anyone else thinks. You are Satu's Uke. O< *shot several times*)

Roka - He was the student that reassured Hamako that there won't be a relationship between Satu and Audric. Hamako understands their standings, but love concurs all. O< Hamako knows so! She just knows so!

Yukiko - She is another happy person~! She poked Hamako on the nose with a blue paint brush, though Hamako did not understand why. Vivica seems to like her though! =^^=

Katsuo - He seems to be a laid back kind of guy! He helped Hamako out on her first day of school by pointing her towards her classroom. Thanks! Hamako just never had a chance to actually speak to him. ;w;

The Hamano Mansion. Said to be one of the prettiest and more extravagant estates to sit upon Esclaire Hill. But such a beautiful estate is also old, and holds a history to it. The orginal owner of the Hamano estate was Miss Etoile Von Buruea. This woman was a seemingly beautiful French woman who drew the eyes of many men, but she was only interested in one. He was a man of Asian background but knowledgeable when it came to heritage. Etoile had found this interesting and started to pursue the man. She learned many things from him before taking his hand in marriage. One of them being that she had the talent to make ball jointed dolls.
This talent of hers was mightily impressive as everyone seemed to be after her dolls. She started the idea of selling her dolls, and thus, skyrocketed her doll craftsmanship to making large quantities under her new married name; Hamano.

Lucas
Though not really treated as a possession, Lucas is a ball jointed doll gifted to Hamako since she was young. Handmade by her father himself, he put all his might in making a male doll companion for Hamako with all the beauty he can create. Thus, was the creation and birth of the doll, Lucas. Lucas is much different from the usual ball jointed dolls Mark creates. Lucas has much softer skin, hair said to be combed over a thousand times to perfect softness, eyes of actual cut and rounded sapphires. And inside of him also hides a secret. Inside of Lucas is the deed of the Hamano Mansion and named company. Mark had hid the contents of such importance in Lucas because he plans to hand everything over to Hamako when she comes of age. Though he does not know of her secret. Hamako holds Lucas very dear to her heart and is never separated from him. She carries him around like a small child and refuses to let anyone lay a finger on him without permission. Her greatest fear about carrying him around is dropping him, and she hopes that does not occur.

Vivica
Vivica is another Ball Jointed Doll owned by Hamako. Even thogh she holds the same elegance as any other Ball Jointed Doll, she is much more special than all the dolls in the Hamano home put together. Vivica was the first doll to be created under the Hamano name. Thus, you can say she was the one that jump started the business. She was created by Hamako's great, great, great, great grandmother from long ago. Rarely does she ever leave the stow away room in the Hamano mansion, but every so once in a while Hamako brings her out. Plus, even though Vivica is older is Lucas (creation-wise), Hamako says she loves Lucas. Thus also, Hamako always sits with both at the same time, rather than seperating them.

Blue Bowed Hair Clips
A pair of dainty and cheap hairclips. But to Hamako, they are much more special. They were given to her by Princess, as a birthday gift. It was when Hamako had just turned thirteen when she was gifted with them. Hamako treasure these hairclips even though they are from her sister. The reason being? It was the first time Princess smiled at her.

Hamako's room is primarily yellow. But also in her room comes cuteness. Flowers adorn her room here or there. Plus, a large stuffed bear sits at the side of the entrance (most people has tripped over its leg that sticks out). Her room always has sweets offered on the table; just for any guest who has a sweet tooth. Inside her pig cabinet however; her pet reptile, her snake, sleeps. Most of the time her pet slithers around her room, not really having a cage. Hamako gives her pet this freedom as long as it doesn't leave her room.

User Image
Fris, her pet snake. He slithers around her room without a cage. He rarely bites, but is mostly comfortable within Hamako's hands. During the night, he sleeps in Hamako's pig cabinet.

Prompt Number Chosen: Prompt # 5
Prompt Reply: ( Gah, so sad. D: )

As the waterfall of tears gushed down her face, Hamako could only watch and stare at the mess the sat motionless in front of her. The only thing she could think of was, "It was absolutely all your fault! You just had to wander back in didn't you!" Wiping the tears away with the sleeves of her dress, everything felt like the mess in front of her; broken into tiny pieces and unable to be fixed. Hamako's mind slipped back, back into her memory. She just had to remember the time when she made her mistake to make it come to this conclusion!

Hamako's memory made her mind slip back to the beginning of the day. The day had felt like it started crisp and new when she took her first breathe that morning. She had finished all her morning routines for herself and had just finished changing. She had spied the calender to see what was the date of such a grand day. But the grand day was shrouded in superstition. The reason being as it was Friday the 13th, said to be a day full of misery and malice. But Hamako had shrugged it off and continued on. As she ran downstairs to greet her parents with a "Morning!", they were no where to be seen. But this was casual within her household, as they were always busy with the family business.

Hamako had decided it wasn't worth to wait for them again to return home and greet them with a morning. As they would probably return around midnight and it would be awkward for Hamako to greet her parents with a morning in the middle of dusk. She slipped into the household's kitchen to grab herself some breakfast and than afterwards paced her way to the back room behind the kitchen. Hamako had always ventured to this stow away room when her parents were not home and the butlers and maids were on their rest day. This room contained all the dolls her great, great, great grandmother had created since her passing. Hamako would come here often to address the dolls and speak to them. This was a major pastime for Hamako as she did it more frequently on said days like so.

As Hamako walked into the room, she spied upon the hundreds of dolls her family refuses to tell due to their history within the family's name. Hamako eyed each other until she finally came upon one of choice. Picking it up, it was her grandmother's first doll, Vivica. Vivica had been Hamako's very favorite one since she first laid eyes on it. Vivica had also held most of Hamako's secrets as she was mostly the one Hamako had talked to. As Hamako took the doll off the shelf, she shifted slightly. But this shift had caused her to loose her balance and fall sideways. As she fell, the doll slipped from her grasped and went toppling toward the ground. Hamako had to choice but to watch her beloved favorite fall toward the floor and shatter in its wake of contact.

Hamako stared for a couple of moments before breaking into tears. "Oh goodness, look what I have done!" she shouted beneath her tears. This was unfortunate indeed. But also very ironic. For bad luck to occur on the day of bad luck. Hamako wiped the tears from her face as she watched the pieces. She picked up a couple and fidgeted with the to try and fit them back together as if she was a small child fixing together a 1000 piece puzzle. It was no use, she could not do it. She threw the pieces against the floor causing the pieces to break into more pieces. Suddenly, as Hamako felt the day could not get worse, a voice called out to her.

"Hamako, Hamako, dear! What was that noise?" was the voice that called. This was not good at all! It was her father! Apparently, her parents had come home early! Hamako panicked and gathered up the pieces of the broken doll. She searched from left to right as she looked for a place to hide her misfortune. Stuffing the broken doll into a drawer in the cabinet, she turned to her father who had opened the door. "What are you doing in here Hamako, dear? It is dusty and appalling! Come, let us go eat." her father beckoned her. Hamako wiped her eye and nodded with a sniff. "Certainly Poppa," she replied. Her father titled his head as he looked down at her, putting his palm on her shoulder. "Is something wrong Hamako, dear?" her father asked. Hamako shook her head as she looked back up to her father with glistening eyes. "Nothing at all father, dust has just clouded my eyes and caused me to tear." she lied. Her father nodded toward her and lead her out of the room. "Okay Hamako." he said as he lead her out. But in her mind, Hamako cried silently. "It is just another secret..." Hamako teared on the inside. "That I will have to hide from them..."

A ball-jointed doll is any doll that is articulated with ball and socket joints. In contemporary usage when referring to modern dolls, and particularly when using the acronyms BJD or ABJD it usually refers to modern Asian ball-jointed dolls. These are cast in polyurethane resin, a hard, dense plastic, and the parts strung together with a thick elastic. They are predominantly manufactured in Japan and South Korea, and in 2006 Chinese manufacturers entered the market. BJD design is both realistic and influenced by anime with proportionally large heads and big eyes. They range in size from about 60 cm (2 feet) for the larger dolls, 40 cm (16 in) for the mini dolls, and all the way down to 10 cm (4 in) or so for the tiniest of the tiny BJDs. BJDs are made to be easy to customize, by painting, changing the eyes and wig, and so forth.

The modern BJD market began with Volks line of Super Dollfie in 1999. Super Dollfie, or just Dollfie, are sometimes erroneously used as generic blanket terms to refer to all Asian BJDs regardless of manufacturer. But Super Dollfie is a registered trademark for Volks line of BJD, and Dollfie is the trademarked name of their line of Barbie sized 1/6 scale vinyl dolls, which are not proper ball-jointed dolls at all.

The history of ball-jointed dolls is many centuries old, with wooden articulated dolls dating back hundreds of years.

The modern era ball-jointed doll history began in Western Europe, particularly France and Germany, in the late 1800s. From the late 1800s and to the early 1900s French and German manufacturers made ball-jointed dolls with bisque heads and strung bodies made of composition, a mix of pulp, sawdust, glue and similar materials. These dolls were sized between about 20 and 40 inches, and they are now collectible antiques.

During the 1930s the German artist Hans Bellmer created dolls with ball-joints and used them in photography and other surrealistic artwork. Bellmer introduced the idea of artful doll photography, which continues today with Japanese doll artists, as well as the BJD fandom.

Influenced by Bellmer and the rich Japanese doll tradition, Japanese artists began creating strung ball-jointed dolls. These are commonly made entirely of bisque, often very tall, sometimes as tall as four feet. These dolls are art, and not intended for play or even the hobby level of collecting usually associated with dolls. They cost at least several thousand dollar, up to several hundred thousand dollar for older collectible dolls from famous artists. The art doll community is still very active in Japan, and doll artists regularly release artbooks with photographs of their dolls.

Modern Asian BJD history began 1999 when the Japanese company Volks created the Super Dollfie line of dolls. The first Super Dollfie were 57 cm tall, strung with elastic, ball-jointed, and made of polyurethane resin, similar to garage kits, which were Volks main product at the time. Super Dollfie were made to be highly customizable, and to create a female market for garage kits.

For many years the Super Dollfie were not very popular, but 2003 onwards the BJD market seemingly exploded with a multitude of companies based in South Korea, and a couple of years later beginning with Dollzone in 2006, several Chinese companies.

BJDs have a strong influence from the anime esthetic. Prominent BJD companies, Volks with Super Dollfie, Cerberus Project with the Delf line, as well as the Japanese artist Gentaro Araki with U-noa line, all have backgrounds in anime style garage resin figure kits.
