I highly recommend weight lifting as an activity, especially for people who are sedentary. And this lady has a lot of attitude! You'll love her.

http://www.skinnydaily.com/ This is a weight-loss blog of a woman. You may find it inspirational. There's lots of interesting perspectives and insights here. At her site, there's also a plethera of other websites dealing on weight loss.
http://www.fitday.com/ This is a free website that allows you to keep a weight loss diary. it's similar to livejournal. It's a very practical tool. check it out!

http://www.betterbodz.com/exercise_main.html this website would be a nice tool. You click on the body part, and they give you exercises for that body part.
