My most favorite Japanese band is Dir en grey by far. However, the others I like are D'espairsRay, Girugamesh, X Japan, Ayabie, LM.C, Duel Jewel, and L'Arc-en-Ciel.
As for solo artists, I like Miyavi, Hyde, T.M. Revolution, Gackt, Maaya Sakamoto, and Nami Tamaki.
The lists is still growing. I just named the first one that came to mind.
