Ace had been planning the big birthday bash for two weeks now. It was set for February 22nd, and quite a few people had come together to make it work. Jim had quietly set his developers about to make the hologram system work into an all-out (under 21) party scene: a room with couches, decorations, "pin the power on the Flashcharge," and a table set to the side piled with the birthday presents for Charles. Food refreshments had been sent to the individual houses of the guests that had sent presents so that there would be actual food to pig out on instead of hologram food.
Hah, that food had been delivered by the notorious NSA messenger. Yes, using his motorcycle. In most places, he drove up, rang the bell, sprayed whipped cream from a can at whoever opened the door, then gladly ran away, shouting "ENJOY THE PARTY!" Sigh. At least he wasn't as dangerous as throwing bricks through windows like he had done in the past.
Charles hadn't yet arrived, nor had Jim. It was Jim's job to cause Charles to panic enough to GET him to their own hologram room. Ace was there, bouncing around in excitement, as was employees not everyone would recognize: A teenager younger than Ace, a girl that we can assume is another unmet trainee, Flashcharge, Photon, Darebone, and Fire Snare were all there, but in civilian clothes. None would be saying who they were, other than to introduce themselves as Tom, Andy, Susan, and Lilly. Of course, when people who knew who Thomas was would see him there and alive... but in a wheelchair....that particular cat might just fly right out of the bag.
Well then, what are you waiting for? Come on in and get ready to give Charles a heart attack hearty SURPRISE for his entrance!

The extent of Flashcharge’s merchandise line was extremely large. From plush toys to ear buds, you could get pretty much everything. Currently wrapped up in bright pink papers with happy suns all across it (which wasn’t picked by the three year old in family despite how it looked) was Charles’ present, an FC stress ball. Ruri had found the idea ridiculously amusing. Along with the stress ball was a book of seascape photos, in case he needed something calming to look at when doing his usual busywork.
Ruri, Raleigh and Hannah had already arrived. Ruri was currently standing next to Thomas in his wheel chair, party hat on, watching as Hannah ran around with endless energy and enthusiasm. Raleigh was having a hard time keeping up as she toddled across the room, inspecting the presents, the food and anything else that caught her interest. Whenever she ran past someone she would give them as happy ‘Lo!’.
Haha. Ruri couldn’t wait to see Charles’ face when he finally made it to the hologram room. She leaned over to give Thomas a casual kiss on the cheek and then chuckled as Ai fell flat on her face. It didn't stop her for an instant, or drop her smile, but Raleigh was fussing around like a nervous mother hen.

Ooc: I hope this is okay. xP I wanted to have them all there. ^-^

Tom had been in excellent spirits. Despite not being in his normal shape, or anywhere NEAR his normal health, he was doing pretty well. Oh SURE, he had to sit in the stupid wheelchair, but hey! He could see everyone else and--
--and RURI was there!
Hah! So Tom had been grinning pretty manically, joking and laughing around, and being generally his old self again (minus the arrogance and ability to walk around for more than ten minutes), and promptly pulled Ruri onto his lap when she bent forwards to kiss him.
"What? You think I'm going to let you get away?" he grinned smugly, "Or am I suddenly not good enough to be used as pillow anymore?" he demanded indignantly.
Still, he couldn't keep up his serious face (not when he was in such a good mood!) and his familiar grin flashed back into view only seconds later. One would notice it was no longer laced with that youthful arrogance he carried himself with from before the war (IF any of those in the room still remembered), but Tom had really toned down a bit-- enough to get his act together and act like the adult he was supposed to be.
Sometimes.
((FYI: The war lasted seven years. So most of you WOULDNT remember Tom from before. I'm not even sure which one of the old players have met him-- just use your own discretion. ;D
There have been the ocasional periods of being off duty, during which he probably was spotted in the US, so he didnt vanish completely.
Still-- he's rumored to be DEAD! D:< ))

Ruri couldn’t have been happier. Her darling Thomas was back to his old self again, mostly anyway. After the ‘incident’ he had certainly changed, but he still had that winning smile.
She gave a girlish giggle as she was pulled into his lap. Rather liking his particular spot she made herself comfortable, resting one arm around his shoulders.
“I was looking on the market for a new pillow, but I guess you’ll have to do.” She teased, leaning in his kiss on the cheek again, a quirky smile on her lips. “Okay, I lied. You’re my favorite and only pillow, and you had better not let me get away.”
Meanwhile, Raleigh had scooped up Ai. She was sitting on his shoulders, reaching out for streamers and giggling madly.

The twins were, where else but at the food table? They were thrilled that food had been transported to their location so they could actually pig out. Kaden glanced around the room to see who else was present. Some little kid, a boy that seemed a bit familar from the last group thing, and a whole bunch of old people.
Oh, wait. There was Ace... and Susan. Kaden blushed a bit as he waved at Susan. Keagan grinned at his twin and nudged him. "Go over there, you wuss."
"Where?" Kaden attempted to act innocent.
"Fine, let's go see Ace!" Keagan dragged his twin over to the power-boosting boy.

Tom had just grinned at Ruri and tightened his grip a bit. He didn't answer, though, instead his eyes had been wandering throughout the room, taking in the two new arrivals.
He smirked and turned to Susan. "Heya Susie, looks like one of them think you're--" He didn't continue, because Susan had thrown one of those 'eep-you're DEAD' glares at him.
"I'm just SAYING," he protested and then eyed the twins again before turning back to Susie, flashing another grin of his. "They really LOOK like they can handle-- ACK!"
Tom hid away behind Ruri (as impossible as that was). "I'm too young to DIE!" he cried out.

Erol probably entered with a rather dry expression on his face. Materializing until he was leaned up against a wall arms crossed and brown eyes unamused. He didn't bother with a greeting, and even wondered why he was here. He hated the guy so wasn't coming to celebrate something as mundane as a birthday. To him it was another day, another dollar to earn. It wasn't like a parade would start marching down mainstreet over the fact.
"I hope this isn't going to take all day. I have s**t to do." He muttered to no one inparticular. His eyes catching on Raleigh and the girl on his shoulders. A brow arched at the scene, a curious smirk on his face. He knew the girl to be his sister but they never really met officially. Shrugging he headed over.
"What's up?"

The slight clamor that was caused by the messenger seemed to light up the faces of those who had been in the area when he, presumably not knowing who the supplies were for aside from the address, coated the ever-occurring Aunt Mary-Anne with a layer of whipped cream and rode away, screaming to ‘enjoy the party’. The younger of the house mates giggled profusely as the owner marched up to Jasmine’s room clad in her cream-armor and angrily dropped off the food, and the message. The silent girl grinned at her aunt’s appearance, stifling as many laughs as she could before letting her leave to go get washed up. She grabbed a pink-iced cupcake from the stack, biting into the pastry before flipping the page of a book she had gotten recently- she was at least going to finish the chapter before she went to the party.
Jasmine actually had two gifts, one genuine gift, and another as a joke. For her serious gift, she had given him an old telescope- a rich mahogany-colored pipe with faux-brass hinging it together, and near the eyepiece was a piece of paper tied to the rim, of which it read “May you look into the sky with this and see stars of great fortune”, which was a line from her own play, Focus, which she had recently gotten praise by producers, and was now being made into a play in the theater in which she spent a lot of the months in America in. She had also stashed five “Future Tickets”, which was her promise to give Charles five tickets to Focus when it finally showed. The tickets themselves were made by the production company, in which the name of the company, Jasmine’s name as the writer, and the location in which the show would be, but not the date in which it would be.
The joke gift, when it would be opened, would seem as if she had not put as much thought into it, but it would be funny. In the bigger present was a collection of fitness and health books that Jasmine had picked out from bookstores, most of them along the subject of Stress and Cardiovascular Problems due to stress. The name of the sender, as it seemed, was a little bit more thought out than the actual gift. The name on the card, printed neatly in Uncle Garth’s handwriting, was “The Triple Entente”, which would hint at the fact that there were three actually involved in the gift, and one knew at least a little about World War I— or that one of them knew what the word “Friends” meant in French.
Upon actually arriving in the room, Jasmine stood for a second in awe of the developer’s handiwork of the scenery before quickly stashing the two gifts onto the pile and trying her best not to look like an idiot while walking towards the group already in motion. Clutching her always-at-the-ready notebook tightly in her arm, she gave the people a small, greeting wave.

As Thomas pleaded for his life Ruri looked over at Keagan and Kaden and then burst into laughter. “A younger man eh, Susan?” She winked at Darebone. “They’re fun but keep one for too long and he’ll get clingy.” As Ruri gave that little gem of advice she was trying to giggle.
Raleigh now had a green streamer draped across his head and Ai was tugging at a pink one. “Hey you, you’re wrecking the decorations. Wanna get down now?”
“Nup!” Ai giggled and patted her big brothers head, then she spotted a new yellow haired person and leaned forward to watch him come closer. "Looook!"
“Huh? Oh, hey Erol.” Shaking his head, Ra dislodged the streamer that was partly blocking his vision.
“’Lo!” Hannah waved happily.
“This is Ai… well, it’s actually Hannah.” Raleigh introduced the little girl on his shoulders, who continued to give Erol a wide, delighted smile.

Wall flower. That was what kept tickling the back of Joy's mind as she clung to the outer 'rim' of the party area. She did not venture too far from Ace, but at the same time she did not cling to him the way she almost felt inclined to. It had, at first, been quite the relief to her that Daddy had told her she could stay...but now that the guests had arrived and begun to mingle...Joy felt as awkwards as she did in school when they were told to pick partners.
To keep herself busy, Joy fussed with her pink dress and shuffeled her matching shoes. She probably should give her mother a call. That would at least give her seomthing to do...or she could check to see what games Ace had downloaded onto it...but..ugh..it was such a BOY phone. She didn't want to pull it out till she had a chance to fix it up.
So...instead..she lingered, and watched. Awkwards yes..but she could handle that. The party was a place filled with a lot of happy people, and despite what some might think, after Joy began to take a better notice of that, she felt a little happier herself. So...these were Aces friends...these were Daddies friends..they seemed like a great bunch. No wonder Ace was so happy. He had so many people around him. Joy couldn't help but feel a little wistful herself for a bit of the same thing. Maybe once Daddie got her into the school things would work out better for her...

Erol chuckled at seeing Ra so out of character, at least in his eyes. He gave Hannah a soft smile reaching out a hand to her. "Hello there Miss Ai, I'm Erol." He introduced himself giving her small hand a shake.
His brown eyes went back to Raleigh with a giggle snort. "Well if it isn't Mr. Daddy Daycare himself... is this what you do in your spare time?" He asked, though he had to admit he was a bit envious. Raleigh had a family now, whereas, Erol seemed very much alone. At the very least he had his band who were as close to a family he could get.
Stuffing his hands in his pocket he gave Ai another smile before standing idly by. "Where's the buffet? I'm hungry."

Ace laughed, "Awh, Suzie, you should make him feel---" He ducked his head, snickering.
"You will not get anymore training ANYTHING EVER if you keep that up, young man... And YOU need to grow up!" Susan scolded them both, then moved away, closer toward Raleigh and Erol. The baby was CUTE, and she wanted to maybe have a cuddle-chance with her.
"Hey Kaegan, hey Kaden." Ace waved at them, "You guys wanna do something in a few weekends? An adventure park maybe?"
Andy had taken "lookout" at the real door of the agency, and now he turned around, "Psst, they're coming..." He hissed, and whirled to his seat so he wouldn't get knocked by the door. Jim was known for sending them flying.
As he did just now.
"SURPRISE!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Came the shouts, and Susan came rushing forward to force a birthday hat on his head, and Andy...well...he started it off by shooting one of those loud streamer poppers at him.
Ace picked one up to shoot it...at the twins...
OOC: SSJ, you're playing Charles, YES?
OOC2: Yeah, yeah, I am. Just not now. Either thursday or friday. =P So everyone: GET YOUR RESPONSES IN BEFORE THAT. biggrin

The twins grinned at Ace. "An adventure park?" Keagan asked. "Sounds like fun." He glanced at his twin, who nodded. "Luckily, football season's over, so weekends are free again. Well, except for when we're doing training, but that's no big deal."
Kaden rolled his eyes at his brother and glanced around at some of the others who had gathered in the room. There were a lot of people he didn't really know. Some looked familiar from the first big get-together thing, but he didn't recall much for names...
The twins turned as Andy announced that Charles was coming. The boys grinned and joined in the shouting when the door flew open. "SURPRISE!!" Luckily, for the twins, they had seen Andy send off a streamer and they'd turned to look for some of their own when Ace fired his. They heard it whizz by overhead and turned to fire the ones they'd found back at him.

This party seemed to be doing very well. There was her brother, happily chatting with a pair of identical boys. And so many other people too. Were they all...evolved? Joy subconsciously smoothed the front of her dress out again. Maybe she was the only un-evolved person here. That would make her feel quite awkwards if she didn't know her father would be back soon. He was the one she was really looking for now.
With Ace so caught up in his conversation and fooling around, Joy did not want to be the annoying little sister tagging along after him, ruining his fun or embaressing him. Rather, she looked for a nice place to sit.
Some people could not enjoy a party simply by enjoying it. Joy was not that person. The energy of the party, the good feelings and the sense of folks enjoying themselves filled the room. The sounds they made, the way they smiled...Joy took her time watching them. Enjoying the fact that this was a place of happiness right now, and she could easily sink into it for the short period of time she was there. Maybe she'd go join Ace in a few moments...but not yet...she'd rather watch him with the teo boys. he certainly did seem happy...

Ai shook Erol’s hand with her own little chubby one, giving a cute giggle.
Erol’s amusement actually had Raleigh smiling. “Actually, it’s not. Everything else is what I do in my spare time. Ai doesn’t take spare time, she’s a demanding, full-time commitment.”
As if to prove his point Hannah reached for another streamer and nearly tumbled backwards off Raleigh’s shoulders. It was just another bit of fun for her as Raleigh panicked and then thanked his quick reflexes when he caught her as she slipped.
Raleigh was hurriedly righting the still giggling three-year-old, firmly holding onto her legs, when Charles’ arrival was announced. He joined in the happy birthday chorus.
On Thomas’ lap Ruri also gave her loud happy birthday shout, while vaguely wishing she had some wine to celebrate the occasion with.
“Wheee!” Ai playfully clamped her hands across Raleigh’s eyes.
