Last year, we had a part of the drill where we were going to do a little visual dance break, and we were required to put our instruments down on the field to do so.
In what ended up being our best performance, I tried to put my piccolo down, but it got caught on a string hanging from my glove! I had to shake it off while trying to stand up, and luckily it fell off before I got up too far from the ground.
Apart from this, always almost crashing into the souzaphones and tom-toms kinda sucked too.

I don't play in a marching band but I did see a profetional football player ram into a trombonist.

I had just been given the music for our show, so i didn't know it yet, and the other cymbal player popped his cymbal on the first crash of the show, so i got to BS the whole thing.
other than that, the worst thing that has happened to me is getting hit by a guardie. the line marched backward and intersected with a line of guardies, and they had a kind of low sweep with the flags right when i passed one of the girls, and she hit me with the flag so hard i almost fell. i had a bruise for about 2 or 3 weeks.

Once, during a parade, they lost my gauntlets. So I was without hand protection... which, in my job, is dangerous. I performed a sunrise, and I misjudged my toss.
Quick run-through of mace physiology... a virgin mace has a cross on the crown. I had just such a mace.
I caught it on the crown... with the cross stuck rather nicely in my palm. I shifted my hand weird, and the cross snapped off in my hand. I managed to catch it and carry on, but it hurt so damn much. Still have the scar in my palm.
That's pretty much the worst that's happened so far...

well during finals last year i dropped my flag, more liked it bounced awayhave no idea how. and i stayed put cause it was a freeze pose. i didnt go after it till we moved again, and thats how we got a 4 star. thnk god.

Nothing bigs happened to me personally.
My freshman year, during a football game, our tuba player slipped in the mud, more or less rolled, got up and was magically in step. It had been rain just before we went on btw.

during the game last friday the top button and hook on my uniform jacket came undone. I had to wait until we were back in the stands to fix it.
also, in our parade marching we swing our instruments (down. and. swing that thing!) up and left, so my mouthpiece always comes loose. well, during a parade, my mouthpiece fell off and I had to march for like a block before one of the teachers brought it back to me.

Our first performance this year, me and 3 other people accidently switched spots in the 2nd to last formation of our first piece. We got so screwed up for the last formation...D:
But no one noticed...thank god.

ok so we do a pre-game show. well we run in from the north side tunels and on the first game I fall flat on my face. I was fine but couldn't get up because well people were running over me. Then later in the pre-game show my shoe fell of while back marching very fast very far. yeah not fun. Yeah that was my first game in College. That was an interesting game. Haft time was fine I got to all of sets.

my freshmen year in high school: there was a move where the gaurd and the band kinda crossed through each other, let's just say, one hit my flute and my head, and the other hit my leg (both with flags) and i almost went down, thank goodness it was only rehearsal xd
my junior year: during a competition I rolled my ankle on a patch of grass, it really hurt (the field was awful)
my senior year: as the drum major on the right side 30 yard line on the smaller podium, at states the wind was gusting at like 40 mph and my podium actually started tipping over because of the wind...it almost gave me a heart attack xd

Last year, during our second biggest competition, I crashed into another flute player. Then in our last half-time show, I put down my instrument at the end of the show like ten seconds after everyone else. But other than that, nothing too major for me.
In one show, there's was a trombone that lost a slide in the middle of the show. And at another, a guard member grabbed the wrong flag and another fell down.
