Of course running into battle and getting hurt wasn’t entirely helping the situation and Noel gave a little yelping cry as Wilbur returned with a flinch. Seriously, he just wanted a moment where these strange pokemon weren’t assaulting his pokemon. Algernon was trying his best at this point to calm the startled young man, having freed himself from the lad’s grip and rubbing his paws at his trainer’s elbow in an attempt to soothe him.
It was plainly written on Noel’s face that he wasn’t enjoying the situation; a mix of frustration and worry as he went about healing Wilbur. Of course, Hyde took it upon himself to take care of yet another sinister looking Cubone that wandered towards them, this time though getting the jump on the creature before it could make a move of its own.

- It was probably the first time that Noel was able to give a sigh of relief. Hyde had been fortunate enough to avoid getting any kind of damage in the battle, which honestly made him feel better in that moment. Hyde seemed pleased as well, spinning and dancing his way back over with a huge grin on his flowery little face. That actually, for what it was worth, made Noel feel a bit better. Though he went about making sure that the Cherrim was okay just in case.
And of course as he did that, Wilbur perked up to address yet another Meowth strolling onto the scene to observe what was going on. He wasn’t going to let this one get him this time!

- Noel frowned and quickly went about healing Wilbur as the Tepig returned to his side from battling the strange black Meowth. The cat had managed to get a jump on him it seemed, but that heart scale had definitely given the Tepig a strong skill to contend with this strange horde of eerie pokemon. It wasn’t long after he finished healing that yet another spider appeared.
The white-haired young man was starting to feel a little more confident about the situation now and watched as with a single blow, Wilbur knocked the Spinarak unconscious. He was getting curious now about these things and decided that if he caught one or two maybe he could ask about them…

Noel watched as Wilbur obliterated another Spinarak, grateful that the creature hadn’t posed much of a threat this time around Yup, his team was clearly growing stronger with these strange encounters. He was starting to feel confident about their ability to handle this situation. Which was good because they kept coming. Yet another Spinarak descended and Noel found himself giving a yelp of surprise as the headphones on his head jilted as though something was trying to take them. Immediately his hands flew up to grab them, spinning in place and staring wide eyed at the new spider trying to use a lance of webbing to yoink the headphones off.
This time, Algernon jumped into action, seeing the implications of the Spinarak’s actions. Without hesitation he flung forward, to attack, a bit of a crossed look on his face. The Espurr clearly didn’t approve of the innocent gesture.

Noel retrieved the pokeballs of the Spinaraks he’d captured, eyeing them curiously before tucking them away in his bag. He’d put them in the PC storage later and find what to do with them once he was done. Still, these strange oddities of pokemon were appearing and so that would have to wait. He was feeling a bit more comfortable about the situation at hand concerning his pokemon and them battling.
Another black Meowth with a witch hat slunk into view and Wilbur went right to battle again to take it down. Noel was happy at least that Wilbur was doing so well, once more tending to Algernon who, while not horribly injured, had yet again taken a bit of damage from his last battle.

Another one down! Noel focused a bit now, trying to determine where exactly these pokemon were coming from. With the brief pause in attacks, he started to usher his team along in the direction to try and find out where these strange pokemon were coming from.
They seemed to be streaming from a nearby alley, always a bad sign really, but he sucked it up and slowly started to move off in that direction to have a look. That had to be someone or something behind this and he wanted to find out what it was. Before he could get much farther though yet another Spinarak appeared to block their path, though Wilbur immediately jumped into action.

Watching as the Spinarak rushed off, Noel continued forward. The alley was dark –always a good thing- but he braved it up and moved forward. The light dimmed a bit more as he moved forward, Noel doing his best to keep from stepping on anything or brushing against any of the dumpsters lining the walls. He had to wonder why exactly they always shoved dumpsters in alleyways. It was concerning, anything could be hiding behind these things… it was a bit unnerving.
Noel jumped as his fears were met, though this one in particular wasn’t what he was expecting. He blinked and squinted against the darkness to stare at the pumpkin-looking Bulbasaur waddled out in front of him. This pokemon… wasn’t as scary as the others he’d encountered, which was a nice change. Still though, it seemed ready for battle and Algernon, once more acting the protectorate for Noel and setting out to strike it down.

Noel scooped up the pokeball with the Bulbasaur, eyeing it a moment before adding it to his bag as well. That was the first change in pokemon that he’d witnessed so far. It’d been mostly Spinaraks, Cubones and Meowths up until this point. The Bulbasaur was curious looking just like the rest, but it was the first he’d found. Odd.
There wasn’t time to linger though. He was still lingering in a creepy dark alleyway after all and he really didn’t want to linger around for long. With a deep breath he continued moving, looking around the trash cans and dumpsters for any hints to where these strange pokemon were originating from. Maybe there was some weird portal or something around there…?

Noel continued his descent down the alleyway, eyes struggling against the dimness of the place. They’d run into another Spinarak which Algernon expertly dispatched without hesitation. The Espurr seemed more confident in the situation now, taking the lead and standing guard as defender to his trainer and crew. Wilbur was snuffling about, looking eager to continue battling while Hyde twirled and danced about and behind.
The sounds of movement caught the white-haired lad’s attention and he halted in his tracks until the pokemon revealed itself from the lingering shadows. Another Meowth it seemed. This time, Hyde span into action to take it on; it seemed the Cherrim was just as anxious to get involved in all the fighting.

Arriving in Striation, Ajicka ran a hand through her hair. Honestly, she was tired. It had been a lot of traveling, a lot of battling, and she hadn't slept much. She wanted to keep moving forward, but... if there were ever a time to take a break.... She walked into the pokecenter, her eyes virtually closed already, and handed over her pokemon to get healed. She didn't even think to check with them on the plan; like a robot, half asleep, she made her way to the PC once they had been returned, and began changing her party around, rearranging both active and inactive pokemon. Waking up, Ajicka found herself disheveled and in her clothes from the day before, not that her style changed from day to day. She blinked slowly a few times, still waking, then pushed herself up, out of bed. She gave a wary look to the little black ball of lint on her bedside table. Joltik. He'd let himself out again. She rolled her eyes and shook her head, heading for the bathroom without bothering to recall him. The thing was impossible to keep in its pokeball anywa... there was really no point.
Washing up, she changed into a replica of the outfit she'd had on the day before and brushed her hair, before putting it into its usual high ponytail and preparing for the day. She was 100% positive all of her pokemon were grossly over leveled for the gym in this city, but she didn't plan to challenge it right away. She needed to sort a few things out, figure out what her game plan was. She had a few pokemon with her that she either hadn't battled with, or hadn't battled with in a while, and she wanted to see how they were doing. Including Edge, the other a*****e pokemon she had managed to somehow end up catching. At least he was more bitchy than violent, like ZK. And it seemed he had conceded to the idea of getting stronger, and showing up his previous trainer, rather than pouting and moping around. His wing was healed now,t oo, so he was good to go as far as battle went.

At about this point, the commotion seemed to die down. Noel remained lingering in place as he listened for any more movement, seeing nothing further scuttling in the darkness towards him and his crew. Algernon stayed on guard, Wilbur still snuffling around while Hyde enjoyed his most recent defeat of an enemy. Eventually it was clear that nothing else was coming which seemed odd.
"Huh…," It was just… odd. One moment they were swarming, the next thing he knew it’d just stopped. He had picked up a bit of a trail and followed it out towards another dumpster, kneeling down to look. There was… a hole in the wall it looked like, though it didn’t seem to lead anywhere. It seemed like a little storage space for nicked goods to be honest. With a bit of a frown, Noel dropped to his knees and crawled a little closer to have a better look. There were a couple of items stored away and once he was certain he wasn’t going to get attacked by any sort or Rattata or what have you, he dug them out. Huh… there were quite a few things here...

With Algernon keeping watch, Noel dug around and pulled out the different items. There were quite a few things stored away and he was rather surprised. Algernon waddled over to see, peering down at the collection. Hyde stopped dancing long enough to come and take a peek, Wilbur still shuffling around looking for things of interest, Lillipup watching them all with a cautious look.
"Hum… I wonder how all this got here?" Noel murmured, holding up some of the items. There was a red plate looking thing and a little bell on a strand of necklace. He jingled it and smiled a bit at the soft sound it made. Maybe he could make use of this stuff? Setting those things aside, he dug a little more; there were a few more things tucked away in this strange little hovel. He found a candle and a little incense holder that seemed to have a sort of calming scent coming from it, along with a couple of heartscales.
A little more digging produced nothing further though, but that was alright. This was still a nice little haul of free stuff that maybe, just maybe he could make use of. "C’mon guys. Let’s get out of this place." He commented, checking one last time before collecting the items he’d found into his bag and starting to lead the way out.

Well it was nice to know that they’d dealt with the strange spooky pokemon menace for the time being. And with all that fighting maybe they could finally take on the gym! Algernon and Wilbur certainly seemed stronger and even Hyde seemed ready to take down things, which he quickly proved as a Blitzle appeared in the way of their path back towards the pokemon center. Which wasn’t the best given the typing but he defeated it all the same.

Noel scooped Hyde up to keep him from rushing off after the fleeing Blitzle, noting the little flower’s sudden agitation with the electric zebra. It wasn’t surprising, the thing had moved quite a bit faster than Hyde had and gotten in a few good hits in the process. The Cherrim struggled and fought, eventually giving into the fact that his trainer wasn’t going to let him go running off, immediately wilting into his concealed form. Noel frowned and sighed.
"C’mon Hyde don’t be like that." He commented, from on his face as he gave the Cherrim a little wiggle. It didn’t seem to encourage him to blossom back to his brighter, cheery form though. Oh well. There really wasn’t much Noel could do to get him blooming back at this point. Maybe after they’d all been healed up and a little more sunlight exposure, he’d go back to his proper self. That was pretty much why he was named Hyde, the way he sometimes flopped between his forms with his mood.
"Let’s go guys!" Noel chirped, picking up speed and continuing along to the pokemon center with his pokemon on his heels. He was looking forward to heading off to the gym and giving it a go. Maybe that would perk up Hyde too! It wasn’t long before he’d handed off his team, waiting patiently as they were tended and returned to him. Noel politely inquired where the gym was from Nurse Joy, getting directions and thanking her before heading out in that direction with Algernon in his arms.
"Alright Algy! Here we are!" He replied, a grin now on his face as he set the Espurr down in front of the doors. Algernon lingered close to his leg, clinging to his pant leg as he looked up at the huge building. He wasn’t sure what to make of the place, but Noel seemed confident that they’d be alright. Digging around in his bag, Noel pulled out some of the items he’d found earlier. "Here Algy, you should wear this. I think it’ll help you!" Noel remarked, kneeling down and gently tying the shell bell around the Espurr’s neck. Algernon stared and gently grasped the bell to look at it, glancing up only as the white-haired lad unleashed his other pokemon and equipped them up as well.
Once that was handled and he felt even more confident, Noel stood and started his way into the building. His first gym battle… now this was exciting!
