Still alive and kicking. Honestly, I switched to platinum a couple years ago when I came back from hiatus and it feels a lot more like how it used to feel before Flynn. I save up for a long time and get a couple items then work at it again. There really doesn't seem to be as huge an issue as there was when Flynn's booty dropped (god that was a mess). They've upped the daily chance to be normal for plat users-but some rewards are still just (1 plat). The stores are still priced to gold, so you can basically buy out most of the gold shops' older items with one plat. They are adding new items that cater to plat, though. Some of the new skins and backgrounds in the gold shops are pretty dang expensive (skintone dyes for 100,000 crying /dies...someday). It's ok for now balanced against the other dirt-cheap items, but we'll see where it goes.
The real issue that I've been seeing is the scarcity on the marketplace due to just less people around and the fact that now that Gaia's been going for nearly 20 years driving the prices up. Some of the prices are really skyrocketing due to users posting them at over 200% their abp (which rarely get bought). Users selling cash shop items can get some more plat-but the prices for those items DO usually drop (most of the time, depending on their color scheme) back down to high, but attainable prices for the rest of us.
However, I've not seen a real influx of plat that is driving other prices up. But I mostly stay in forums, so I could be missing it somewhere. I really suggest people switching over to the new monetary system. I was nostalgic for gold for a while, too. But I was more nostalgic for lower numbers and how it used to feel to use the currency-which you'll get a lot closer to using platinum.
Would love to hear what other people are experiencing.

I totally know what you mean. Using platinum again makes me feel like it's the early 2010s again and it feels nostalgic, but maybe that's because items causing billions or trillions is just insane to me lol.
I think the problem just lies in the fact that there is still so much platinum in the system, and maybe its a pipe dream to think we can remove enough of it at this point to really make a difference.

I'm still fairly active, though most of that is me making avatars now that zOMG is for all intents and purposes gone (I know there's a way to play it now that flash has gone the way of the dodo, but I've never been able to get it to work). I'm still all for still doing something for combating inflation though.
Finding anything on the marketplace has become a royal pain in the arse, though, and not necessarily because of the prices; it's because of the scarcity. Introducing plat does seem to have had an effect; yeah, there's still some super expensive stuff, but it's not all billions and trillions and even quadrillions that it got to when the gold gens came out and threw everything out of whack. But that isn't the main problem; the main problem seems to have become there just aren't enough people selling things on it anymore, possibly because they're not getting the obscenely ridiculous amounts of gold for the cheapest items. What really nees to happen is for people to start selling on the MP again...and find an alternative to flash animation so that certain games (such as zOMG) can come back.
On the subject of zOMG, though...when they brought it back, I noticed that most of the people who were playing it were just using it as another Towns. That tells me that by the time zOMG was brought back, most of the people who had played it as an actual MMO (and those of us who were here for the initial hype-up as it was coming out, lmao) were gone, because of the gold gen disaster and the flustercuck that was the management before Lanzer got hold of it again and started (slowly) putting things back together as a semblance of what it was before everything went kerflooey. And because all those people were gone, the ones who were here to see zOMG's return had mostly been around with no MMO...so it really got recieved as an open-world version of Towns--which is a real pain in the arse when you're trying to find people willing to do the final quest with you, when there's nobody online who's actually there to fight anything.
