Chrissy has been too scared to post what she's written so far. rolleyes I keep telling her that she can post it then see if people like it or not. The worse thing that can happen is her changing a detail or two.

I'm taking a break from the two. One, brain fart and the clan...well you know. ^^;

The next morning they awoke, ate some of the vegetables and set off once again. Saish and Stef followed the cliff, much to Stefs dismay, for most of the way, following some internal map of Saish’s. At one point they started to walk down the cliff on unstable terrain, frightening Stef to death causing her to freeze in fear.
“If we are to ever make it out of the forest you must move child” Saish said glancing back. “And you must master your fears as well as your magic if you’re ever to survive”
“I think falling is a natural fear for anyone….” Stef froze in terror as some of the terrain in front of her slipped off the side of the cliff, plummeting to the forest below.
“A fear is a weakness, something that can be used against you, especially if people were to find out who you are.” Saish was calmly making her way down the cliff ignoring the stuttering of Stefana
“D…. di….. Did, you not just hear those rocks slide, and crash into the forest!!!? besides why would anyone want to hurt me, aren’t I supposed to be a part of a prophecy or something?” Stefana picked her way slowly through the gap in the path, praying with all her might that she wouldn’t fall.
“Those that do not understand a thing will typically fear it, especially if it does something that is not ‘normal’ or is stronger than themselves. And history tells that people will destroy that which they fear. Those of darkness are powerful only in their ability to control the dark and all four elements. The warrior magi was the only one that was able to survive against them, eventually being able to drive them to otherside and sealing them away, causing the rest of the world to finally be in peace.” For the first time since their decent Saish stopped and turned looking Stef in her eyes. “As far as anyone would truly know, you are a dark in human clothes.” Stefana froze.
“But…. I’m not…. I know my father…” she protested
“Yes but did you ever know your mother” said asked before Stef could continue “there are still vixens of the dark loose on our side a fact hidden from others. For all people would know, you are a child of one. Most darkborns show their dark heritage, but there are a few that are not cursed with they’re eyes or skin.” Saish looked at her own hands, a look of jealousy on her face.
“But…”
And most born with the dark heritage are female, if you were male you would not be suspect instead you would be hailed as the new protector. There is also discrimination because of me, it has been years since I’ve heard news from Satorn, I do not know who the grand mage is, nor if they would be a help or a danger to you. Uncertainties lie in wait for you and you must not have fear or it will overwhelm and destroy you. Now come, we must be off the cliff before nightfall.” Saish picked up her pace and Stefana reluctantly and carefully followed after her.
