Faith Burns Koiyuki Faith Burns I have lots of ideas. I hope to hit 100 by this summer. They're versatile; some are old style, some completely different, some are renditions of things you'd never recognize. Not to sound arrogant, but I'd love to be the person that changed the way films were made. In the 1960s, the French New Wave changed film all over the world thanks to just a small handful of film directors. Very little is original now; it's difficult to find a movie that's not based off something. However, not every remake or comic-turned-movie is bad, but I'd like to show people something they've never seen. I want to make numerous films with various scenarios that play out different possibilities and philosophies about life, people, and what makes the world. My goal is really to add something to this world, and film is a tremendously powerful and uniting art form. Hmm, so you seek for your films to do more than entertain? Yes, but I suppose everyone wants to change the world. It's just the method they choose to do so, and this was the one that called to me. I want to entertain, but I also feel like I'm bringing stories and characters to life to demonstrate something greater relative to an aspect of life or humanity. I want to be versatile but meaningful. Ahh, so does this mean you wish to affect as many as you can, with the stories you tell? If so, I certainly hope they don't Disney-fy it. *as is rip your story word for word, and rename the chararcters.*

I would like my films to inspire more than actually change, but I suppose they can go hand and hand. No, I won't let anyone Disnify anything. I plan to be 100% behind the making of my films. They're my ideas, afterall, lol. But I'd like to be like Robert Rodriguez: director, cinematographer, composer, etc. I want to be very involved in my projects; I know how I want to film them, the music to go along with them, etc. I'm too stubborn to even sell my ideas to another person or company, lol.

It's hard to be prepared for something you've never experienced, but I'm strong-willed and persevering. My ideas are extraordinarily precious to me. Nothing would ever make me cave in to give them away, but I do know a lot will stand in my way. I don't really care. I just believe in my success and don't concentrate on how difficult it will be; I take it one step at a time.

I hope that your success comes sooner, than later.

If you want to see a really cool guy who does movies without hardly any budget but ends up having almost complete control over them, look at Takashi Miike.
He practically rules the "straight to video" racket in Japan.
In reality, even if your movies are not high in budget, the internet and straight to video can cause your movie to become cult-ified within months.

That's my plan, to become a psychologist, and to ultimately become all I desire to, and meet all those I cherish. I hope that your success comes sooner, than later. Thank you. I hope that your dreams come true as well. I know that someday I will make it and achieve the plateau that I aiming for. All I need is my loved ones and belief in myself. In reality, even if your movies are not high in budget, the internet and straight to video can cause your movie to become cult-ified within months. Thanks for the tip; I'll be sure to look into that director. That's what I'm aiming for. If I can put my short films YouTube, even though I won't be making any money, I will be putting my name out there. I've heard of people becoming famous on YouTube, so I plan to become one of those people and hopefully work my way up from there. Hmm, I've been think more like a club, for people who want to pursue a dream. For those that want to give everything, to achieving their goals, and want it more than anything else in this world. To rise above the circumstances, and break through, to be the thing they ultimately desire. And to meet people that can give them the knowledge, the courage and the innermost ability, to make this intangible, something they can feel, with their own two hands. This club would be called: DreamChasers. What'cha think?

I can recommend some great books for those topics. biggrin

Being Happy and Follow Your Heart by Andrew Matthews, The Physics of Consciousness by Evan Harris Walker, and Why Am I Afraid To Tell You Who I Am? by John Powell are good books. I also recommend anything by Joe Vitale @ http://www.mrfire.com ; he deals with marketing and motivation and has great tips on how to make money and be successful. biggrin

I hate to double post, but after my sister got through basically chewing me out, over not looking for the info she wanted fast enough last night, I haven't felt the same. I feel like I'm plummeting back into the emotional depths, after all this effort and fighting to drag myself out of it. I mean, for ******** sake, I COULDN'T EVEN FIND IT IN ME TO DRAG MYSELF TO PSYCHOLOGY CLASS. AND I LIKE THAT CLASS, MORE THAN ANY I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit, DAMMIT! *slams fist on computer desk* Why do I feel like I can't talk back and put an end to be bullshit, without her coming out on top, in some way? No matter what, I feel like if I try to fight against her, she'll find a way to make me pay for it.(and judging how she basically controls the income here, that means she can go as far, as having me kicked out, and on the streets, and out of touch with the people that I care for.) I know I'll overcome this and become all the things I want to be, but still...I don't think I've ever felt this worthless, or utterly unimportant in my life.

Sorry Koi, but i'm going to be an a*****e now.
For ******** sake, see a therapist. You seem to have plenty of issues with your family that aren't going to be worked out on the internet. sad If that means moving out and keeping as little contact as you can, you've got yourself a goal to work towards.
But do something already.
