I am the Light of this World The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ At first, she didn't want to wake up as she was exhausted, and maybe a slight feverish. But her stomach had other ideas. It growled loudly and Hikari groaned, sitting up. She sighed, knowing that she hadn't eaten since yesterday morning and that on top of singing in battle had drained her greatly. I'm sure that Gannon had said before that there was food in one of these rooms. I wish I'd paid better attention... She thought to herself. Hikari stood and decided to look around. She noticed that the others were still fast asleep and made a note to herself to be quiet. She stopped short when she noticed Aaron lying there on the bed, her breath caught in her throat. She approached the young man hesitantly, as if afraid someone would catch her near him. She timidly reached out a hand and brushed it against his cheek, gasping at how warm it was to the touch. If he was warm to Hikari, who was pretty sure she was running a low-grade temp, then he must really be sick. She let out a shaky breath. Sing. He can't be left like this. "W-wee paks ra sonwe sarla mea... sos dius manaf yor..." [I nervously sing my song... for the sake of your precious life...] Her Song came out in a whisper and her emotions were so wavering and uncertain that at first she was afraid her Magic did nothing, but she brushed her hand tenderly against Aaron's cheek again and found that his temperature had dropped somewhat.
Suddenly, she felt faint and remembered why she'd been awakened in the first place. She was so hungry that she was starting to feel weak. Hikari stood shakily, continuing to search the place for the stored rations. She opened one closet door to find only blankets. Then the Reyvateil moved onto another closet and opened the door.
She couldn't help the terrified yelp that escaped her lips. A bunch of canned Siren's Song were settled on the shelf. The worst part about it was one or two cans appeared to be affected by Hikari's cry and began shaking. They bounced off the shelf in the Reyvateil's direction.
This only caused the Reyvateil to scream again, stirring more cans of Siren's Song. Pretty soon, an almost comical scene of Hikari running around in the hideout with the cans bouncing right behind her in attack mode occurred. "S-somebody! Anybody! Please wake up and get these things off me!!!!" She screamed. My Song is a Shining Light

Aaron was vaguely aware of a soft comforting Song, and he felt better somehow. He started drifting further into a more comfortable sleep when he heard some clanging and shouting and bolted upright. "What! What is it!?" A wave of dizziness. He saw Hikari being chased around by cans of Siren's Song. "Wait, Kari, calm down a second."

I am the Light of this World The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ "Get away from me! Get away! Ahhh!" The Reyvateil had obviously not heard Aaron. She tripped over Mana who'd sprawled out on the floor, passed out as the Siren's Songs swarmed on her. "Kyaaaaahhhh!" Managing to make it to her feet she bolted towards the door that lead her outside, trying to get the cans off her in a panic. "Get them away! Get them off!"My Song is a Shining Light

"Ugh, damn it." Aaron held his hand to his head and stood. He stumbled over to Mana to check on her and make sure that she wasn't hurt. She seemed to be okay... He sighed. "Time for damage control," he muttered, stumbling on outside to try and calm down the Reyvateil.

Gannon…
It hadn't been long since he had left the bunker when he heard the sound of the Reyvateil screaming. "Bloody hell...?" The Teru started back, only to see Hikari being chased by cans. "Oh boy... I'm gonna catch hell fer this..." He called on his magic, shooting several shards of ice toward the cans, pinning a few to the tree behind them. "Hikari! Stop screaming! They're attracted to your voice!" He shouted to the Reyvateil, but doubted that she heard him.

I am the Light of this World The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ The screaming Reyvateil flew by Gannon, in such a rush that she didn't realize he'd taken out a few of the cans. "Noo! Get away! Eyaahhh!" She tripped on a rock and skinned her knee on the rough ground. Tears leaked from her eyes as she squeezed them shut, paralyzed with fear. I... I always knew I was going to die... but like this? I would have rather been killed by the virus... She crouched into a ball defensively, trembling as she plugged her ears and waited for the end to come.My Song is a Shining Light

The young man followed after Hikari, cursing himself silently at his own clumsiness. "Kari! Settle down, don't move and stop screaming, damn it!" He shouted at her, but instantly felt bad. He knew how terrified of Canned Siren's Song she was.
Though she had no memories of what transpired in her childhood, he suspected that her fear had started with that awful, fateful day when she'd first had her outbreak. As a young child, having big frightening soldiers throwing them at her had to have been a traumatic shock in itself. Aaron himself was still tormented by nightmares from it.
But even in his time working with Hikari he'd realized early on that she was frightened to death by Canned Siren's Song. A few times she froze while singing in battle because one of the C.P.G. soldiers in their unit had used one on an enemy during an experimental run.
He shook his head to clear those thoughts from his mind and pulled his sword, swinging it around to bring it down on two more of the offending objects. He noticed that she had fallen, and stifled the urge to run to her side to comfort her. After all, she seemed to have developed affection for him that he couldn't reciprocate, so he feared that any further contact with her would make things worse. Though he wasn't quite sure if allowing her to grow attached to the Teru was a wise move either.

Gannon…
The Teru saw the Reyvateil go down and he acted on instinct. He stomped hard on the ground, channeling his magic through the soil. Almost instantly, a dome of ice surrounded Hikari, blocking the cans' advance. As soon as Hikari was safe, he drew his blade and quickly cut down the remaining cans. As soon as the last one fell to the ground, he dispelled his magic, causing the shell around Hikari to melt away into the ground. "Hey, you okay?" The Teru knelt down next to the frightened girl, looking at the scrape on her knee. "We better get ya back inside so I can clean this. Here, don't try and stand. Let me carry you."

Nereus Waking up to the sound of Canned Siren's Song and screaming wasn't a good way to wake up, Nereus hold his forehead as he rub his eyes. He saw Mana on the floor and replied, "Must have something to do about Canned Siren's Song." Nereus stood up and stretch for a bit. He walk to the open closets and looked for the boxes that had the ration. "Want some?" He asked Mana as he got five of them. One each were for the the ones that were already awake. Nereus sat down and place his elbow on the table as he rest his head on the palm of his hand.

I am the Light of this World The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ She could hear the cans clash against something but didn't feel them. Hikari dared to open an eye. Then another. Gannon was kneeling next to her. She blinked. "I... I'm not dead...? I'm not dead!" Her terror turned to relief, and then she had time to process the information. She'd seen Gannon use the Canned Siren's Song before. And then Hikari wandered into a closet that happened to be at his very own hideout full of the blasted objects. And now Gannon was kneeling next to her, comforting her yet again.
Hikari blushed slightly, hoping that it wasn't noticeable. She stole a glance at Aaron and froze. No. This isn't going to happen. Confusion settled in and her emotions were immediately at war. Her anxiety, fear, and anger mixed together and sparked something within her, similar to the same feeling she got from crafting Songs with Gannon in her dives. Sure enough, it took a physical manifestation. "EXPLOSION!" She screeched, a black cloud erupting right in front of her and blowing up right in the Teru's face. "This is YOUR fault, you jerk!" She wailed. "It's all because you kept those... those... things EVERYWHERE! I saw before you used it on that other girl too!" Hikari paused, wincing because she'd made her headache worse but struggled to ignore it. The volume of her voice dropped. "So... that means if I have a relapse... you're going to use one of those things on me..." She turned away from Gannon and Aaron, confusion and apprehension both etched into her expression. She wanted to be closer to the Teru. She really did. But Aaron's return just brought back a painful reminder as to what betrayal felt like.My Song is a Shining Light

Mana~

"Hey, thanks," Mana mumbled. "Man, I need something to drink. Wonder if we got any pills to fight killer hangovers..." She stumbled to her feet and clumsily rummaged through her bag beside her twin. "Lucky Sis, she can sleep through anything," the elder twin muttered. I wonder if being on the run will change that? She thought, and regretted the fact that her sister had joined in on this dangerous journey. She sighed once she found the medicine and took some, turning back to Nereus. "Well, now that we're up, wonder what we're gonna do now." She gave a glance at the others still sleeping in the room. Nel, beside Miko and the one-eyed Teru not far away as well.

Nereus "Well the rain has stopped and I don't think the soldiers are in pursuit due to the rain and that our tracks were covered, so the next thing to due is to be on the move." Nereus let out a loud yawn as he rub his eyes."I may work on the mask to fix any flaws that remains." He got up and got some supplies that were needed and went to work. I might as well work on the sword with this free time that I have, I knew I should of work on it at night... He thought while working on the mask. He went back and got his sword along with more stuff that he needed.

--Aaron Leon Cecil--
Aaron could only stand there staring dumbly at the scene before him. She crafted a Song outside of diving? Apparently there had to have been a lot of emotions involved for her to be able to do that. It was true, she obviously was growing closer to the Teru.
His sister was a mystery, even to him. When you first meet her, she comes off as a scared and frightened little girl. But once you got to know her, other parts of her personality would come out. It was like she gained confidence to be braver when she had someone she felt that she could trust nearby. He had to admit though, Hikari was being a bit colder to Gannon. She had warmed up to Aaron much easier and never pushed him away like that. It was obvious to Aaron that she was becoming attached to him. But blowing him away like that... The young man cursed himself inwardly. What he'd done had left some deep wounds in her psyche. Of course she's trying to push him away. She's scared that she's going to be hurt again. He wondered if he should say anything, but he spoke up. "Kari, settle down. It wasn't intentional. Sorry, Gannon. Guess I shoulda warned you earlier." He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Kari's really scared of Siren's Canned Songs. We think, uh," he hesitated as he spoke the next line, wondering if it would reveal too much information to either Gannon or Hikari, "it's from something that happened to her as a little kid, y'know?"

Gannon…
Gannon took pride in the fact that very few things ever caught him by surprise. However, now was not one of those times. One moment, he was trying to check on Hikari and the next he was laying flat on his back on the ground. He vaguely remembered a flash and a pressure pushing back on him. The next thing he knew, he'd been put on his a**. And to make matters worse, the person he'd been so worried about was now standing over him, screaming about the entire mess being his fault. "Wait, what?" He listened to both Hikari and Aaron before things began to become clear. Hikari must have just crafted a new song. From what he remembered, she must have been under an alarming amount of stress for something like that to have happened. "I...I see..." He made it to his feet and then took a few steps toward Hikari. He noted the hesitation in the Human's voice, choosing to ignore it for now. Instead, he chose to tend to the Reyvateil. "Don't worry. I have no intention of ever using one of those on you. Trust me, there's a reason that so many of them were in there. If you'll give me a chance to explain, I'll do my best."
