Kai grinned viciously. Paranoid, eh? Well, he had good reason to be. Not that she had any intention of letting him know just how good a reason he had. It was also mildly amusing to the young chimera how often she was mistaken as male. Well, whatever, it didn't really matter to her either way.
"Harmless? Well, no, I wouldn't say that," she chuckled, memories of joyous violence and slaughter dancing behind her eyes. Seriously, beating a man to death with his own arm was funny as hell. And that wasn't counting all the wonderful, interesting things you could do with intestines and judiciously placed eyeballs.
"It's not like a harmless traveler would last long in these dangerous days," she pointed out. Admittedly, that was partly due to monsters like herself, but bandits, wild animals and random extremists accounted for their fair share too. Probably more than her honestly, since there were just so many of these natural road hazards.
"So I was spying on you for a bit. Why shouldn't I be wary of such a large party out in the middle of nowhere? So I tried to get one of you to follow me when you discovered my presence the first time. Isn't it sensible to try to split up a large group so I could try to determine the truth? Still, I never touched you or yours, never made a move to attack. You are in a forest," she growled, eyes flashing as she bared her teeth just a bit. "There are no walls, no locked doors here. You send a sword at my head that could have killed me, or at least injured me badly, for intruding on your little party, but I have been in this forest longer than you, so it might as well be you who are the intruders. How'd you have liked it if I'd just thrown a sword at your head, with no questions or attempts to talk, eh?"

Slowly standing to his feet, No finished whatever it was he were writing and put the book away - having it vanish the second it left sight. He listened to the exchange between everyone as his focus trained on the dead spirit lurking near Kai. They were simple animals, probably hunted but the fear he felt from them was something he felt from butchered creatures, those that were not simply killed for meat but because there was a great deal of joy out of the simple act of killing. This could have been a mindless animal that wished only one thing, of course there was always an alternative.
Judging by the claws and spikes that decorated the creatures body, Noa guessed their strength and figured they may have been the cause of the trees being damaged that Kishi was going on about before. When she mentioned how they would have liked it if the roles were reversed in this situation, Noa had to agree to that at least. "You do have a point in that regard, I think we all would have similar feelings if our roles were reversed. But they are not for the time being so you must accept our hostility." His voice echoing around the campsite as he spoke, he already had an idea for a summon if things got too bad.

Izanami saw Farrokh jump up and draw his sword which alarmed her.
" Whoa! Whoa! Hey! Calm down, Freddie! He hasn't done anything yet. So what if he was watching us? He didn't hurt us or anything. Just calm down. " she said concerned. She could tell he might have been about to do something stupid. She jumped up on the branch in the tree and grabbed Farrokh's sword, actually being able to pull it out and hold it. She dropped down and held it out for him to take it.

(OOC: That's about the size of it. Although honestly, I switched to warrior mainly because I picked rogue for its speed, and without that, I wasn't at all interested in the class. It was my spells rather than my class that I changed in order not to totally abuse my racial ability. And yeah, I updated my profile a while back, but I was holding off on changing anything until it got properly approved.)

Accept their hostility indeed. Kai scoffed. It appeared that the life-being was on the fox-man's side. Pity about that. Perhaps the life-being could see all the delicious death on her somehow? Oh well. Kai was just about to throw in the towel, admit the failure of her new game, and fall back to her default methods of enjoyment, when the fox-girl jumped in to defend her. She actually spoke against the one she was in heat for, and was polite to the one he was hostile to. Was she seeing a power play of some sort? Kai's golden eyes gleamed with interest.
"Hello, Izanami," she said affably enough, smiling like a crocodile. "It is a pleasure to meet someone with manners in this group." She extended her hand, sharp claws glinting wickedly in the fire light. The fangs revealed by her smile appeared unnaturally pointy. "I am called Kai."

╔═════════════ "I think you should have expected such retaliation when you opted to spy on us," Kishi chimed in as he tried to get a better view of the intruder. It was his first time seeing what he assumed to be a Chimera with his own two eyes after all. He had stopped his magic and had remained seated although he had shifted his legs so that he could quickly jump onto his feet should the situation call for it. "Kishi Yoruno."
He had no problem revealing his name to complete strangers due to how often he moved about. Tracking him would make it almost impossible and the name meant little to nothing to him anyway. "Can't say it's a pleasure meeting you, but your body sure is interesting. Is that an exoskeleton made of bones? And scales? Are all of your people like that?"
A cough in the back of his mind snapped him out of his study and reminded him that this was not exactly the best time to be distracted. Part of him countered that he was not being distracted and was merely assessing the Chimera's physical abilities before the rest of his brain kicked in. "Um,I mean, why are you here? You must have had a reason to spy on us. Perhaps we could give you the information you so desired without the need for you to be sneaking about." It was not a promise of course, but more of his way to find out what the Chimera had wanted from them so that he knew what to do to get rid of her. Or gain her trust if she had been spying on them due to wariness. If she got what she had wanted she could be off doing whatever she had initially been doing and leave them alone or, his mind supplied, slice them all up now that they were no longer needed. She did not look as though she could take on the 4 of them, but appearances were very deceiving. "Of course, we would be expecting you to answer some of our questions as well to make this fair."

Kishi appeared to have no problems speaking with the creature. Of course with how he was questioning everyone earlier about their own pasts he could only guess why he was first to stand up and be interested in what she had to say. Izanami was acting as the peace keeper amongst the group, but with what Noa learned about Farrokh before this all happened it would be safe to assume that if it came to blows she would be right next to her partner.
There was intelligence in the shape-shifters eyes, though from what Noa glanced or felt from her soul itself there was a base instinct to kill. Wherever she came from it was obvious her career was solely on one thing. Better not to get too close if a fight were to happen.

"Ah?" Kai found herself distracted by the little one and all his questions. She cocked her head at him, amused at how his curiousity seemed to war with his wariness. "Well, I'll admit, I came to look in on your group since I was wondering what such a large party was doing wandering around these parts. I stayed hidden, since I didn't know how friendly a reception I'd receive. One can't be too careful in these dangerous times now, can they?" she grinned at him.
"My armor could be called an exoskeleton of sorts, I suppose, though I have a true skeleton beneath my flesh just like any other being. And as for my people?" The very idea of it made Kai want to throw her her head back and howl with laughter. So she did. "My people, he says!" Kai choked, struggling with the tears in her eyes from her merriment. It was a good thing her hyenine head was already so perfect in expressing it. "Oh yes indeed, I suppose I do have a 'people', as you say," She grinned madly at him. "We are all quite, quite different in form. Some have fur, some have feathers, some have scales. Some have anything and everything in between. We live for the same purpose though." Kai giggled again. Her scales were flushing crazily between black and red and back again. "Oh yes indeed. And those who do not live for that purpose do not live long. Now, since I have answered your question, you must answer one of mine. That is the agreement you wanted, correct?" She stared at him, gold eyes sharp and the barest hint of fangs in her smile. "So where are you headed and why are you going there?"

╔═════════════ Kishi had unconsciously tensed up when Kai broke into tearful laughter, but relaxed once he realized Kai had not made any other sudden move and watched with growing fascination as her scales flashed through multiple shades of color. Chimera were fascinating creatures although usually shunned for the circumstances surrounding their birth, but Kishi couldn't help but wonder if this shapeshifting ability was something all of them had. Even if it was a minor form of it, it would prove to be very useful though their 'same purpose' had him a bit worried. "I was heading to Caran in the far East for entertainment purpose," he answered with an easy grin. "I have some loose ends to get rid of there."
"As for this lovely couple and their companion," he motioned at the rest of the group by the campfire. "I had just met them so would not know. I had opted to stay with them at least for the night what with something dangerous roaming about on the forest floor." Of course, he had practically forcefully imposed his presence amongst the group, but he had offered for first watch so he considered it even since he was unaware of Noa's ability to communicate with spirits.

"We were traveling towards a nearby village to gather supplies. From there we have not yet decided a course." Noa thought it best to not say any more than that. Sure he could have told them about the attacker from before who only left because he seemed bored with the fight, and that they had an Avatar with them. Of course none of that mattered fort he current situation so why bother? It was strange for Noa. There had been around five originally who were involved with the fight, since then it was only Noa and Farrokh left as Lora had vanished as they were settling down. Noa felt he would once again be traveling on his own, but was unsure why.

"Oh, a village?" Kai immediately perked up. It had been a while since her last destroyed village. Cities were a bit too big a mouthful for her to chew, and towns were a little too noticeable, but tiny, isolated little villages were just perfect for a bit of fun. Sometimes the screaming hurt her sensitive ears just a bit, but at the same time, there was just something so very pleasurable in that sound... Crafting flesh, blood and bone into her instruments and coaxing such music from them was one of Kai's favourite hobbies. Her eyes flared molten gold, her teeth and claws lengthening just a tad at her memory of her last little village. Oh, the jokes she'd played there!
Her favourite one was one that still made her chortle to think about it. Dousing a man in oil and setting him on fire had been funny enough, what with watching him run around and flail his arms and scream so amusingly. But then this little one had run bawling out of nowhere to try and extinguish the flames on his Papa, and then got caught on fire himself.
And if that wasn't rich enough, while the brat ran around in a blind panic and screaming his head off coz he was on fire, this woman had then come rushing out and tried to douse the flames on "her baby", and succeeded, but gotten horribly burned herself in the process. Then, while they were both crying on each other's shoulders, Kai had given the perfect punchline to the joke by sneaking up and neatly gutting the woman before strangling the child with his own mother's intestines. Hilarious!
Kai smirked to herself, skin flushing a deep, ruby red as she savoured the memory. "The village is nearby, you said? Where?" It'd been so long since she last killed something smart enough to properly appreciate what she was doing to it! She doubted she'd be able to repeat anything like her last little joke in another village, but perhaps she'd have the chance to put a proper punchline to a different joke. Who knew? It might be even funnier than her current favourite!

Kishi quieted down as he listened to Noa revealing the group's original intentions and glanced back at their provisions. "Well, I hope it is nearby because the nearest major city is still quite a while away." He had not heard of any nearby villages though it wasn't uncommon to have nomadic tribes that are more than happy to barter and trade. They were known to wander about in the forest or the plains for the majority of the year, but would sometimes settle down for a few weeks, mainly when one of them was sick or injured.
"You seem quite interested in its location. Are you perhaps low on supplies too?" Kishi asked, trying to discern anything resembling a container that could be used to carry one's personal belongings before quickly adding. "Actually, don't answer that. Let me think of a better question."He would have expected at least a backpack, but did not find any which was quite odd. Then again, maybe Kai was not alone and had it stashed at her own camp or she may be living nearby.
In addition, the Chimera had started changing shape once more in her excitement and Kishi was starting to be quite wary of the sharp claws and teeth she was sprouting. No stable person would be unsheathing their weapons at the mention of nearby villages.

" It's not a village we are heading to, it's a city, although based on your behavior I'm not sure I feel comfortable telling you our traveling plans... ", Farrokh said cautiously. This guy was just plain suspicious, and his attitude was obviously phony. For all Farrokh knew, he could follow them and kill them in the middle of the night, or even worse, wait until they get closer to the city and then ambush them. He just wanted to play it safe. Even if everyone was giving him a chance, Farrokh didn't trust him and wasn't about to tell him anything.
