Not exactly subtle, Ialo thought to himself, but at least he's honest. Alec smiled slightly and patted Ialo on the shoulder as he humored the tired man. "Not formally, no. But it's alright, I was never used to getting thanks anyway." Alec began to walk with him, hoping to help clear both their heads by keeping their feet in motion. Mindless motion was good for either clearing one's head, or at the very least make their thoughts more coherent, easier to grapple with and work out.
As they walked for a bit, Alec thought back to when he had found Ialo back at Enlil Corp. He looked like he was possesed, and it didn't look to be of his own doing. Alec was concerned about this, and decided to attack the issue in a sort of direct, but not so direct way. "So, you feeling alright? You seemed a little off when I found you back at the complex."

Ialo remained silent, and they had walked a little farther before he offered up a response. "I would think most people would be, in that situation... Being assaulted, and waking up on the wrong side of an experiment," he said quietly. "And the only things you can think of are revenge and freedom, in that order."

Hmmm. So he doesn't know what happened to him, Alec thought to himself. Either that or he's not bringing it up. This could be bad. If Ialo didn't know that he was capable of doing what he did at the complex, he could seriously injure someone without trying. Alec remembered to respond though, not wanting to make Ialo think Alec was ignoring him. "Eh, stuff happens. It's what we choose to do when stuff that happens that really makes us who we are."
Alec walked with Ialo a bit longer, thinking about how best to resolve the issue. Ialo needed to know what he could do, but Alec didn't want to go right out and tell him. Ialo might not believe him and tell him to go away. He also needed to know just how much control Ialo had. If he had enough control then Alec wouldn't have to worry about an outburst as much. Alec needed an excuse to find out Ialo's magical potential. Alec thought for a minute, and then an idea hit him. Alec looked over at Ialo and smiled slightly as he relayed his 'idea' to Ialo. "Hey, I just thought of something. When I'm really stressed I like to go someplace remote and just let loose with what I got. How about we head to the combat gym? We could spar for a bit, let out some stress. We've certainly had a lot of that the past few days."

The Headmaster did not take notice of any cues Alec might have let slip regarding what he was thinking. "That's one way to put it," Ialo agreed in a mild voice. It was a very sound variation on a proverb, but it made him a little uncomfortable nonetheless.
The sparring idea though, piqued Ialo's interest. "I... think I would enjoy that." There was a sudden wistful look in his eyes. "I wish it were daytime." Anticipating a question from Alec, he continued. "I always tell the students how dangerous it is to go out to the woods and the lake at night - someone would throw a fit if they saw me breaking my own rule. Heh." Boy, did he have some stress to let out - nothing was quite as satisfying to Ialo as dealing out the sheer amount of power it took to create a self-contained Cat 5 hurricane in a space as confined as the school lake (compared to say, the Pacific Ocean). There were so many small details that went into the perfect storm, and, well, obsessing over small details was right up his ally. "To the combat gym, then?"

The soles of his favorite type of shoes, Adolf had discovered once upon a time, were silent on hard surfaces. As such, he would often go through some trouble to acquire shoes that met his standards--having the sum of money that he did locked away in a bank somewhere in Switzerland certainly helped, even if he only thought of it in terms of what suits he could and could not afford and how nice of things he could buy for his goddaughter.
As sometimes happens, Andrew and Asia Astra had not given all their children the same godparents, though all the multiples shared. Therefore, he felt no obligation to get any of their other children special gifts of the sort he would sometimes bring for Athena. (However, he would always be sure to bring something for them, just to be nice.) For example, the flute she played had been paid for by him.
But that's all irrelevent babble.
Quietly, though not necessarily intentionally so, Adolf walked up upon the Headmaster and Alec--he recognized the latter as one of Athena's teachers. He hadn't heard any of their conversation, but now he was walking straight to them. They would be able to see him if they were paying any attention to where they were going, and even if they did not, he would follow them so that he might talk to Ialo. He was curious about Athena.

"Indeed." Alec led Ialo towards the gym, smiling as well. This was as much for Ialo as it was him. He really did enjoy just letting his anger and frustration out on a tree or a combat dummy or some other inanimate object.
It didn't take long for the two men to reach the gym, and when they did Alec threw open the doors with gusto. Alec walked into the large open room, moving over to the wall where the light switch was. Alec flipped on the lights, watching as they illuminated the room one by one. Alec closed his eyes and breathed deep, sampling the smell of the room. It was a mixed smell of sweat and a hint of blood, the smell of struggle, the smell of endurance and strength. Alec enjoyed the smell, it invigorated him.
Done with that, Alec walked into the center of the room and began to bounce back and forth, loosening up his joints. Alec cracked his neck in a few spots as he loosened up his arms, speaking to Ialo as he did so. "So, care to go first?"

Ialo certainly had his heads in the clouds tonight - he kept in step with Alec, but completely missed Adolf's presence. He was too busy imagining what he'd be doing tomorrow. Anyone using telepathy on the Headmaster would be immediately put off by the sheer speed and volume of his thoughts.
What snapped him out was the scents of sweat and blood. One whiff, and Ialo gagged. "Now I remember why I hated gym class! The other boys didn't know a deodorant stick to save their lives!" He had.... extremely... interesting memories from his grade school days, even from that one year he attended MFHS as a student.
Actually, the smell wasn't that bad, even to a dragon. The Headmaster was exaggerating. "Oh, I don't know," Ialo deflected. Unlike Alec, he did not stretch. "I don't spar often -" Lies... and a truth? Maybe? "- I'm used to being attacked first."

Alec smirked at this, deciding to be a bit of a jerk and use the innuendo Ialo provided. "That so? Well then..." And with that, Alec launched himself into the ground, tunneling far below the surface, sitting and waiting to see Ialo's reaction. Alec wondered if he'd come after him first, or if he would wait for Alec to strike first.

"... Damn it!" Ialo stared at the pot where Alec once stood, then frantically scanned the ground below for Alec's aura trail. "You people need to stop taking me literally!"
Even so, Ialo slipped through the floor, phasing through the solid earth. That would not leave a trail like Alec's tunnel... A tunnel, Ialo briefly entertained the thought, filled with water? That's how you flush a rat out, but I don't want to kill him. By the time that thought ended, Ialo was invisible, right above Alec and his tunnel and staring down at him through the ground.

Alec clearly heard Ialo's outburst and couldn't help but chuckle at it. What he did next though was a little surprising. One minute Alec could feel him, and the next he couldn't. Either he made himself intangible, Alec thought, or he's flying. And since he probably can't reach me from the air, he's probably trying to float towards me. Alec's eyes began to glaze over with an ethereal magic as he searched for Ialo's aura. Sure enough Ialo was right above him, but oddly enough Alec couldn't see his body. Usually when he did this he could see people's bodies as a thin outline within their aura, but Ialo's wasn't there. Must've made himself invisible too. Not really necessary, but whatever. Alec decided to go on the offensive this time, not bothering with pulling any punches. Alec closed his eyes and focused his energy. Soon Alec was coursing with pure black and white light, his eyes glowing black with white irises. Alec had tapped into the power of Twilight once again. Alec looked up at Ialo and smiled a cheeky smile, before sending a blast of energy in his direction. It tunneled through the ground at breakneck speeds, barreling right for Ialo's unguarded face.

Ah, s**t, Ialo thought. He felt oddly calmed as he tensed up, preparing to take this unsual attack - which he did, sort of. He curled up crossed his arms (now blue and scaly) in front of his face. It wasn't the most sophisticated defense ever, but it worked. He had never seen this sort of magic before, light and dark mixed together... he felt like he had, yesterday, but it was really all just a blur to him.
His dragon skin deflected some of the magic, dispersing it around Ialo, but the force of the spell knocked him clear back into the gym.
"That should have done more damage!" Ialo was genuinely surprised, too much to notice part of the twilight magic had unraveled as the dark magic was attracted to Ialo, and was now clinging to his aura.

Alec shot up from the ground in a flurry of dirt and rock. He shot up several feet into the air and decided to float there, giving himself an arial advantage. Alec saw that the dark energy from his attack was now clinging to Ialo's aura. Well that's not good, Alec thought to himself. But now was not the time to really point this out to Ialo, Alec still needed to know just how much control or lack thereof that Ialo had. So Alec kept the pressure on, firing off three more blasts before he began to bob and weave around the gym just outside of Ialo's reach. Alec decided to jab Ialo a bit, get his blood boiling, give him reason to fight back. "Come on Ialo, you've gotta be better than that! You nearly rescued yourself after all!"

Ialo clenched his jaw and glared at Alec. Now he was just being a b*****d. His pupils slitted, and the room filled with pressure from his magic and anger bearing down.
With each successive blast, Ialo was incensed to dodge faster and faster, until for a brief moment he allowed himself to hang behind Alec in midair.

Alec turned his head ever so slightly to look at Ialo, who had now managed to get himself behind him. "Very good." Alec spun around quickly, attempting to roundhouse kick Ialo as they both hung in the air. Whether it hit or not though didn't stop Alec from making his next move. In a flash of black and white light Alec teleported out of the gym. And just as quickly he teleported back. Alec was quickly jumping in and out of the gym, causing flashes of dark and white columns to appear briefly before Ialo. Alec was intentionally causing them, creating a quick chain that was now headed right for Ialo. When one got about 3 feet away from Ialo, Alec closed the gap immediately and attempted to land a strong right to Ialo's jaw.

Black, white, black, white black white black white blackwhiteblackwhiteblack - that was all Ialo was seeing as he tumbled to the ground, the result of dodging upwards instead of away, and getting his feet clipped and his balance screwed by the tail end of Alec's kick.
Note to self: excessive spinning is generally unpleasant, and even more so when your ankles are throbbing.
Ialo had just managed to land crouching on the floor as Alec came at him again with his fist. The Headmaster did not guard himself with his arms again, but with a mysterious black short sword held blade out - Alec would cut his hand in half trying to get to Ialo's face.
"Isn't this a bit intensive for a simple spar?" He accusingly growled.
