Gannon tightened his grip as the Reyvateil struggled to get free. "Hey, settle down! All that'll happen if you go back is you'll get caught. We can't let that happen. 'Sides, what about the other FPD? You want her to go to that kind of life?" They were approaching the outskirts of the town already, but he could hear commands being shouted in the distance. He knew they didn't have much time until they were pursued.

"She can go but I need to stay!" Hikari pleaded with Gannon. "If you all protect her she'll be fine! It doesn't matter what happens to me because..." Because something happens to Rhaplanca, then this entire world is going to be destroyed. How can one insignificant life compare to that? Especially with what I've done.

When Gannon growled and threatened to put her to sleep, the Reyvateil stopped struggling and fell silent, however she quivered like a puppy that had just been struck by its owner. She tensed when she saw Nereus staying behind, and more silent tears fell, knowing that she couldn't do anything to help him. And so she let the Teru drag her away, feeling quite shocked and possibly a little betrayed by what just happened.

The Reyvateil sat in the transport, watching the scenery pass by the window. Her expression was a blank mask, revealing nothing of the tangled web of thoughts that raced around her mind. She had a mission to do, but how was she supposed to keep her personal feelings out of it? Tessia sat in silence, tapping her aqua colored nails on the glass window. What to do...What to do...?

"Ma'am, we've reached our destination. We'll be heading out soon. Orders?"

The Reyvateil turned her attention to the young soldier who had approached her. "Concentrate on the dive shop and the infirmary. The reports from HQ say that they were in rough shape after escaping. If they've left town, then they couldn't have gotten far."

"Yes, Ma'am!"

The soldier left to pass along the Reyvateil's orders.


Soon, the transport had docked in Behdla. The fiery-haired Reyvateil gathered her pack and pulled the hood of her cloak low over her face. It wouldn't do for someone to recognise her right away.It only took a handful of minutes to get ready, but before she could depart, the soldier from before rushed back into the transport. She waited as the young man caught his breath.

"Ma'am, it looks like there was a battle here! The shop's been destroyed. Reports are that an FPD went berserk at the infirmary and a group of Teru and a Reyvateil fought with her before carrying her away."

The Reyvateil's eyes narrowed as the soldier spoke. This was not what she had expected to find. "Anything else to report?"

"Yes, Ma'am. Eye witnesses say that one of the group is still here. He's actually digging through the ruins of the dive shop."

"Interesting... Bring him here. By any means necessary."

"Yes, Ma'am!" With that, the soldier left, signaling to several of his men to follow. They approached the dive shop and watched the man there digging though the debris. "You, hands up!" The soldier called to Nereus. "Stand up and turn around slowly." As he spoke, the other soldiers formed a circle around Nereus, blocking escape.

"Don't worry, she'll be safe." He took Nel by the hand. "I'm sure the Church of the Goddess is going to be fighting back this sudden invasion of their city and possibly even annihlate the camp they've set up in Seraca. Push 'em back to her own city. In the meantime we'll lay low out in Behdla. When it's safe, we'll come back and claim sanctuary in the Church." He was silent for a moment, taking in his surroundings. "Be careful on your way back, Ma'am. It won't do for me to protect Nel only to have no family for her to return home to. Go back now, the coast is clear." He turned to Nel. "Let's go, quickly!" He began running, taking the Reyvateil along with him. They had travelled quite a ways and he slowed down a bit, taking into account Nel's panting for breath. They were further from Seraca, and getting closer to Behdla when they saw smoke coming from direction of the village. "Damn... What the hell?" He stepped in front of the Reyvateil protectively. "I don't like the looks of this. Stay close." He didn't see any soldiers in sight, yet. Aaron edged over to a forested area, pulling Nel with. "Let's take cover and see what's going on." He whispered, frowning when he saw some figures in the distance who were highly suspicious. A couple of them had to be of Teru origin judging by the skin tone and hair, he mused. One Teru female was carrying a young girl in her arms who looked to be injured. He looked over and noticed a male Teru who seemed to be forcefully carrying another young girl. He frowned. Another F.P.D. Containment, huh? Those bastards! He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. It looked to be a small platoon, and normally Teru didn't have much to do with humans. However Aaron could remember seeing one or two Teru working for C.P.G. so he didn't rule it out. Though he wanted to take action and free the girl, he knew he couldn't endanger Nel. "Let's wait it out... and then see if maybe we can help that girl."

Gannon…

A look of disgust passed across Gannon's face. "Seraca?" It did make sense, though the Teru really didn't want to admit it. The town was controlled by the Church, so there was little chance that they'd be bothered. "Alright... We'll camp around here for tonight, and then we'll head out at first light." The Teru went through the supplies he had on him and cursed. Most of their gear was still back at the Inn. He'd have to grab that when he went back to look for the others. "Just can't seem ta catch a break, can we?" Gannon sat down on the ground, the events of the past few days going through his mind. "I knew runnin' into ya in that tavern was bad news..." The Teru looked toward the elder of the twins and chuckled a bit. "Miko, how's the kid doin'?"

~Nel~

Nel bid goodbye to her mother and obediently followed behind Cecil. She had to admit, she was getting tired, and worried about her mother despite his reassurances that she was all right. Finally, they reached the outskirts of Behdla, and he told her to hide in the brush. When he pointed out the suspicious travellers, she knelt quietly beside him and watched. She saw that the male Teru had set down the girl. "Well, if you think that girl is in trouble, I am a Reyvateil, and I can sing pretty well. I'll help you," she whispered back.

When the girl moved closer to them both and further away from the others, Aaron saw his opportunity. He waited patiently until she moved even closer, and started crying. "You got away, good! Come with me, you'll be safe, don't worry!" He grabbed her by the hand and pulled her to her feet. He began half-dragging her in between the trees with him.
