☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

Intense pain wracked her body and her mind. Every nerve in her pulsated with a searing, unending fire. Her memories relentless in their assault on her consciousness. It was terrifying yet liberating all at the same time. All those precious memories, all the love she had felt from her family, all the sorrow that had come in the wake of the attack, she had forgotten it all those years ago. Or, more accurately, she had lost them to time. In the wake of their resurgence, even after Ciaran’s spell had been dismissed and the illusions ended, little bits and pieces of memories were falling into their appropriate places. Her father’s spell ceased the instant he met his end in battle. Having entered the portal less than a second prior, she had become trapped inside, sequestered away on another plane in an existence separate from the normal flow of time. Until, that is, someone managed to reopen the portal and free her. Centuries of suspended animation sent her body into stimuli overload, essentially suppressing those emotions and images as a means of self-preservation. Why she remembered Watatsumi and Yue so vividly was beyond her realm of understanding. Perhaps her mind needed something to latch onto to keep it anchored, or maybe the lessened trauma surrounding them played a role. Whatever the case, Kaya was content to be without the details of her past. She realized how much she appreciated it now that she regained them.

Snatches of other times, of other faces, played across her brain. Her eyes closed to the world as she concentrated on her breathing. Her mind was having a hard time processing outward stimuli. The prior surge having sent her into a mild state of shock. She would return to normal soon enough, but for now she remained an unusually silent observer. Ciaran’s baritone lilt boomed in her ears, bringing her more fully back to the present. Kaya listened to but didn’t fully comprehend what was being said. What was he talking about, light and darkness? She frowned lightly at his words, wishing to say something but being unable to utter a single phrase. He was talking about her, about her past. That much she understood. Yet her overloaded brain couldn’t grasp anything more than that at the moment. Eventually, painstakingly, the teenager’s emotions and thoughts began to settle. Hot tears prickled the corners of her eyes before quietly cascading down her cheeks. “How?,” came the soft question, barely above a whisper. Lifting her head, Kaya leveled her gaze on Kimura. Various emotions flashed in those ice blue eyes. Anger and sorrow chief among them and warring for dominance. “How could you do that?!” She snapped, louder this time. “You were there…one of the ones who hurt and killed all those people…” The Dragon Slayer balked upon recognizing the guild master for who she was. Kimura had been present during nearly every waking moment of that hellish nightmare. She’d engulfed herself in the torment, reveled in the suffering around her as had her father. “What the hell’s wrong with you?! How sick do you have to be to wanna be part of that?! We were fine till you and your stupid dad came and ruined everything! Why couldn’t you just leave us alone?!” The questions and accusations poured from her like a waterfall. Her tears flowed freely, bitter and aggrieved, hinting at the storm brewing beneath.

Shaw quirked an eyebrow, "You think you can sever a bond that's been intwined so deeply that the people involved don't even realise it's there? That would be something I'd like to see," she said, having no doubt that Ciaran had cooked up a few ideas in his delightfully twisted mind. Though, there was always a good chance something as harsh as that could end up causing more unwanted damage, especially if the overly-attached blood mage were to self-destruct over the harm and potential death from the celestial wizard. "I'll dig out his files for you later so you can have a proper read through of what it was the Russians did to him to shape him so well. Perhaps that will tickle your fancy as some bedtime reading," she smiled.
Watching the scene unfold before her eyes, the doctor couldn't believe it. Terrain effect portals? She'd never seen it before but she'd certain read about it in the files of the previous lab workers in this very program. "Amazing. She stayed in stasis all that time and didn't age a second more from the time that portal shut to when it reopened by chance. I don't know whether to consider her lucky or unlucky in the grand scheme of things," Shaw spoke aloud, not to anyone in particular. She was still filming the whole situation and filling with more glee by the second at the idea of how much groundbreaking research she was achieving with these dark wizards. She too was surprised that the strain of the spell hadn't taken everything out of Kaya, but there she was, still awake and screaming at Kimura. Tears were cascading down her cheeks like a waterfall. "She's getting quite stressed, isn't she?" the doctor sighed. What a pain, "I believe now would be a good time to drain some of her magic. She's clearly acting up and the new information she's had forced out of her has her far too agitated for my liking. Taking some of her magic energy should calm her right down," she smiled, walking to her bag and retrieving another draining lacrima, just as sparkly and beautiful as the last, "Same rules as before, no getting too close. Apologies, Miss Tenma, would mind taking a few steps back from the subject. I don't want you to accidentally have some of your magic taken as well," she requested, gently moving past Ciaran and Kimura and immediately placing the lacrima on the back of Kaya's neck, cringing in preparation for the inevitable screams.

OOC: Fox said that Raine would be ever so slightly conscious now. She wanted to have it so he half-saw what everyone else did in the memories Ciaran brought out of Kaya but he just hasn't quite registered any of it. Feel free to upset him some more lol

He mulled over the doctor’s question, pondering its implications. “Yes,” Ciaran nodded his head slowly after a moment, “I believe I can. It won’t be easy in the slightest, but I sure it’s a plausible endeavor.” Turning his pale-yellow gaze to the scientist, he smiled and inclined his head in gratitude. “I would greatly appreciate it. I can only imagine the juicy little tidbits left hidden in those files of his. Perfect for some light bedtime reading, as you say.” He could but imagine the depths of details within the Sabertooth Ace’s records. Every single experiment, its subsequent outcome, his progression from child to weapon, all these things were awaiting his leisurely perusal. “Tonight might be just the night for some reading too. After the success of the day, I think we all deserve to treat ourselves. Don’t you?” He cocked a brow, lips curling upward in a cheshire grin. Despite the failures of his guildmates, the obtainment of the Blood mage and Dragon Slayer proved to be of greater value than initially anticipated. They alone afforded a plethora of topics and experiments from which to research and study.

One such area of interest pertained to the girl’s past. Her less then forthcoming attitude, combined with her supposed amnesia, forced Ciaran to ply his trade of Dark Écriture magic. “Indeed she shall,” he agreed whole-heartedly, prepared to make good on his vow to his lover and master. The young man called upon his most unique spell to delve into the darkest corners of her mind. It whittled and needled its way past the fortified barriers which she had constructed, lancing through the furthest recesses in search of those memories long forgotten and latent. And procure them it did. Not a single moment of Kaya’s past went unnoticed as the spell splayed them across the stone, metal, and mortar of the cells. Only when all pertinent information had been revealed did he dispel the technique. “Perhaps you can consider her both,” Ciaran breathed a sigh. Dark Écriture: Memory always placed a larger strain on his magic reserves. Although he would not allow it to show, he recognized that he would need to use his magic sparingly for the rest of the day’s session until he could replenish his magic. Fortunately, Shaw’s proffered equipment would be sufficient to offset the issue.

“Very well,” Ciaran nodded his understanding. He also felt the Slayer was becoming far too agitated. If their session was to continue, then she would need to be in a more docile state. Something the lacrima could impart in no time at all. Meanwhile, the dark mage could determine if Raine might be able to give more insight into himself. “While you’re calming our little Dragon Slayer, I think I’ll pay a visit to the Blood mage again. He’s missing out on all the fun.” Tucking his hands in his pockets, he sauntered over to where the Sabertooth mage hung secure and unconscious. Or, at least, he would appear to be unconscious to the untrained individual. Yet Ciaran noted signs of a reawakening in the redhead. “Ohhh RaaaAAAiiine,” he belted out in a sing-song voice, Irish brogue strengthening in his summons. “Have you come back to the land of the living yet, or am I going to have to bring you back?” Ciaran leaned closer. His penetrating gaze scrutinized the man’s features. “I know you can hear me. Did you see what the fairy has been hiding? Are you enjoying her screams like I am? Come now, Blood Raine, don’t be shy. Tell me what you thought of it! After all, you’ve got to feel something about it. She’s a lab rat just like you,” he taunted in hopes of driving Raine to full awareness once more. Kaya’s pained screams echoed in the silence and lent themselves to his statement.

It was the only way to gather information from the water slayer, considering her inability to recall all of her life events. She sure lived through a lot of trauma, it was surprising she managed to hold it all together, even baring witness to remembering it all within the flicker of her memories brought forth to life. She was a strong defiant one, but in the end; even that wouldn't be enough to save her. The fire dragon slayer had peered over towards Kaya, a dangerous smirk that kept tightly to her lips merely grew in size baring witness to tears rolling down the water slayers face. Oh, a glorious sight for sure! All of her tragic memories must of just been striking her nerves, the brat deserved to suffer for everything she had done, all she had caused. She wasn't going to let her out of her sight until she was dealt with, and suffered miserably. She was going to learn from her mistakes weather she liked to or not. Kaya seemed to question Kimura's motives in a whisper, though her her own dragon ears was quite easily able to hear, in which she was easily able to answer. "If you must know, it was the only way to help my family achieve greatness, they needed my help and I was willing to give it no matter the cost. The lives of those people were worthless, if they had just stepped aside, they might have been spared. In any case, I followed my parents orders, I didn't fail to obey because if you must know every kid has to follow in there parents footsteps. Besides, they shown me the path I must follow. They showed me just how weak others are, that they must be distinguished. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't even be here, achieving greatness. This is all to create a better world, a Utopia for the strong."

Kimura smirked upon Kaya's hellbent anger, the trauma forming into anger and rage, despair striking at the very moment of realization of whom she was facing. She stepped a bit closer, her devil smirk never fading. "Like I said, I was ordered to. You think I really could care less going after you and your P.O.S father??!! The both of you deserve to rot in hell, tortured until the end of days!!" Her fist clenched along with her dragon fangs, the anger still boiling in her very core of what damage Kaya's father had done. "Don't you get it yet??! My father was striving for the exact same fate, to rid of the weak pests. You and your pathetic family were the perfect target, and helped us in our goals for experimentation's. You were nothing but useless fuel for our desired answers and to get one step ahead, and that's all. Your dad deserved death, your entire family does! And soon, you will be following in there footsteps, such as the fate of every child. You will join him soon enough." A death glare would strike Kaya, the blackness in her facial appearing more darker than ever, a smile so dark and devilish, the teeth baring just at the very appearance. Kimura would turn once Doctor Shaw cut in some, noticing the water slayers levels of stress were quite high. "My apologies doctor." She would say with a bit of a bow, the smirk remaining. She knew she was the reason the water slayer was feeling stressed, mostly the reason anyways. And she felt it was necessary to apologize herself to Shaw, as she was doing all of the work of fixing them right up so everything would go according to plan.

Kimura would back off once Shaw had also apologized for stepping in, though this was all necessary for there future goal at hand. "No need to apologize, I understand it must be done carefully." She would state while still smirking, taking a bunch of steps backwards to keep a good enough distance from the stone, but also to still see the priceless face Kaya was showing off. She didn't want to miss the whole show, the agony she was soon enough to erupt in. She wouldn't miss it for the world, and this slayer would eventually be forced to regret everything her father caused, and join them all down in hell soon enough, once the time would come.

                                                                      ████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████

Raine had been semi-conscious throughout the entirety of the spell that Ciaran cast on Kaya. He'd heard her pained shrieks and seen the memories projected into the air. Memories that had been locked away for so long. It was a lot to take in for him so he couldn't imagine what it was going to do to the water dragon slayer mentally. Her stressed outburst against Kimura made him flinch, the sound of her strained, upset voice cutting through him.
Unfortunately, it appeared that Ciaran had noticed him stir. The blood mage heard the door of his cell open once again and his name was sung aloud. At least the scientist hadn't revealed his real name. Then again, if he had been right in his hearing and she was planning to hand over his files to the dark ecriture mage, he'd know soon enough. Raine's eyes stared into space through his heavy-lidded golden eyes, significantly dulled in his exhaustion and no longer glowing with rage.
            "Don't ******** touch me," he grumbled. ""

Guild- Fairy Tail | Magic- Water Dragon Slayer | Rank- A-rank

☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

Kaya grit her teeth. She seethed with anger. Kimura’s flippant comments about the villagers, about her friends and family, furthered her disdain and rage towards the dark-haired girl. Even to this day, the Fire Dragon Slayer hadn’t felt one iota of remorse for her actions. She continued down the dark path set before her all those years ago. Her lack of empathy and delight in others’ suffering seemed to have solidified, amplifying exponentially since their last encounter. But it was her beliefs to follow in her father’s footsteps that truly set Kaya on edge. “That’s a load of sh*t!” She yelled, sneering at Kimura. “You didn’t have to follow what he did. You didn’t have to hurt anyone. Kids are meant to surpass their parents, not trail after them in their footsteps. If you wanted to be better than your dad, then listening to his insane orders wasn’t the way! Do you really think doing any of this is gonna get you some sort of half-a**ed utopia? It’s not! I can give you a hundred reasons why a utopia for the strong won’t pan out. You’re just using that as an excuse to play God!” The teenager’s tone rose in pitch, breaths coming in shorter gasps, as she became more animated and aggravated. A short burst of adrenaline kicked in, offsetting the pain of the torture and shoving it to the back of her mind for the time being. Her only thoughts were for her family and friends and the monsters who’d torn them apart.

“Heh,” she barked out a dry laugh. Kimura wanted to call her dad a piece of sh*t? Maybe she should’ve taken a good, hard look at her own horrible father before saying anything against the man who’d died protecting her. “At least my ‘P.O.S father’ didn’t go around kidnapping people and burning down villages for no reason! He fought to protect his family…which is more than what your dad ever could do.” Her brief spike in energy started to wane with her outburst. Settling back some, Kaya closed her eyes and slowly shook her head. Her tired mind relied heavily on her sarcasm and snarky wit. “You keep saying we deserved what we got, but it’s the other way around. We’re not the weak ones in all this. We got away from you…TWICE!… Going by your stance, that’d make us stronger than you! So I’d think more before saying who deserves what. Face it, you’re just a screwed-up mage with no real idea of what true strength looks like. My dad had it in spades and so do I. I’m not gonna die here. You can bet on that. I’m gonna fight you with everything I’ve got, and I’m gonna win and prove how wrong you are!” It was a promise of a lifetime. One originally spoken over two-hundred years ago in the darkened cell of the first laboratory and reaffirmed here and now in its new incarnation.

Her declaration made, the Water Dragon Slayer made a point to ignore the Fire Dragon Slayer. Her adrenaline rush could sustain her for just a few moments. She could sense its rapid recession from her system, leaving her feeling haggard and drained. The discomfort of her injuries would crash over her soon enough. Despite all that they’d done, the dark mages were still not finished with her. Kaya had yet to notice the implements laid out for use on her. What she did pick up on was the mention of having her magic siphoned away. Ice blue eyes narrowed into thin slits, tracking the scientist as she procured a shining lacrima. Like hell that’s happening! They weren’t going to take her magic without having a fight on their hands. Injuries be d*mned! Clenching her fists, she tugged and strained against her bindings, twisting this way and that in hopes of gaining some sort of viable leverage. Crap, this hurts! Still she tried to push past it. Panic and frustration bubbled inside as Shaw drew closer. In a fit of desperation, the teenager threw herself backwards, pulling her head forward before rearing back in a bid to headbutt the woman. Whether she was successful or not she didn’t know for certain. Intense and unimaginable pain burst from the back of her head. Brilliant flashes of light exploded before her eyes. A scream, hoarse and unbridled, tore from her throat. Fresh tears streamed down her cheeks. It was as if everything was being stripped away. And then the world went black. Her form quivered from strain. At last, after what seemed an eternity, she succumbed to the agony and her body shut down, sending her into oblivion.

Shaw smiled, "I admire your confidence and determination," she said, "I'll get those files for you once I collect the magic energy I need from both of our esteemed guests here."
As the doctor neared Kaya with her draining lacrima, the dragon slayer began to struggle more, squirming in her bonds. "It'll only hurt more if you don't stay still," she sighed. Unfortunately, Shaw didn't realise quite how much give the bindings on the dragon slayers neck now had because of all her movement and as Kaya flung her head forwards, she caught the doctor's cheekbone. "Argh, you brat!" she snapped, forcing the lacrima down on the girl's neck far harder than necessary. The fairy's screams of pain became like music to her ears, the tears a waterfall of joy. Serves her right. She held the rock there until it glowed a deep ocean blue and the slayers body slumped.
Regaining her composure, the doctor placed the lacrima back in its box and cleared her throat, "Kimura, I know you were quite young when you and Kaya first encountered each other so I'm not sure how much you remember of your father's work but I did a lot of reading into it while I was running her blood samples and it appears that Kaya and her father are among the very first of the test subjects that were ever brought into the lab once it was founded," she began, not knowing how much the fire dragon slayer would recall from all that time ago, "Your father was also researching ways to drain the powers of a dragon slayer in order to place it into someone else. I think all he really lacked was technology. It was quite a difficult thing even for me with all of the resources you've provided so I'd imagine, all that time ago, it was almost impossible. But he tried. In fact I don't think I've ever seen so much time and effort put into one thing. The formulas and the procedures he performed. Fascinating, really. I'm surprised Kaya survived a lot of it. All those blood tests, he must have timed it right so she would be able to replenish herself. He pumped a multitude of chemicals into her. He even developed a bacteria he hoped would take in some of the magic energy which he would then be able to extract and used to harvest it into a serum. Though, he had to pull that experiment back because Kaya was only three at the time. Her system couldn't quite handle it. She was scheduled for a retry later on but unfortunately she escaped before that could happen. I'd quite like to try it again of we get a bit of spare time," she said excitedly. Packing the two filled Lacrimas into her bag, she zipped it shut and pulled the strap onto her shoulder, "I'm going to take these samples upstairs and start some testing. I'll grab Raine's files on the way back down for you, Ciaran. I'll bring a list of experiments Kaya and her father previously experienced as well." With a final smile, she took her leave.

OOC: Skip me for now and Shaw will come back later with files. I thought best to take a step back while I'm on a six day stretch again *cries*

Ciaran returned Shaw’s smile. “We are limited by nothing but ourselves, my dear Doctor Shaw,” he said with a twinkle in his eye. “As long as we believe in our own abilities and goals then there is nothing that can stand in our way. Those of stronger constitution will always prevail.” It was a notion which drove every action he took. One of his core beliefs. Those of weak nature were destined to fall to the might of another in any, and all, circumstances. Blood Raine may indeed be among the strongest mages Ciaran had witnessed, but he still held weakness. A weakness the dark mage was more than willing to exploit. Inclining his head, he acknowledged Shaw’s remark about the redhead’s files before making his way to the man’s cell. The Ace of Sabertooth feigned unconsciousness. His ploy a crude attempt to avoid interaction with Ciaran. “Aww now,” the Dark Écriture mage puffed out his lip, pouting, “Is that any way to be? I simply wanted to make sure you’re enjoying the show. The fairy’s providing some quality entertainment over there.” He stepped closer, interlocking his hands behind his back, and leaned forward at the waist. “Surely, you witnessed those marvelous memories of hers? All those delicious traumatic events. It’s a wonder she hasn’t turned away from the light. So much darkness…” His mouth quirked in a devilish smirk, “Something you know plenty about, eh? She could quite possibly give you a run for your money. What do you think, hm? Which of your darknesses is greater? You, who has no recollection of his life prior to the laboratory and who was meant to become a weapon of mass destruction, or her, who was subjected to all manner of terror at the tender age of three but has no real purpose aside from furthering research.” Certainly, one of a variety of questions Ciaran yearned to obtain an answer for. These two were a veritable cornucopia of research materials.

His questioning was interrupted by a yelp from Shaw. According to her scathing tone, the Dragon Slayer had managed to inflict a small amount of damage to the woman. Ciaran’s brow raised as he straightened to his full height. “Hmm, it seems our friend has gotten a bit too rambunctious. I shall have to remind her of the status quo here.” He sneered at Raine, “I’m certain you’ll be pleased with what I have in mind. But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. There will be plenty of time for me to teach her such lessons. My attention is for you at the moment. Tell me, Blood Raine, how did your little trip through your psyche fair? It seemed to me as if you were seeing something you weren’t quite prepared for.” His tone shifted to sound almost sympathetic. “Or, I suppose I should say someONE. Your girlfriend must have truly been toying with you. I could hear the tremor in your voice almost instantly when she arrived to say hello. And then your counterpart had to go and ruin it for you, didn’t he? Mm, such a shame to see her laid to waste like that, I’m sure. How did she die? Did he disembowel her by utilizing her own blood, or perhaps he strangled her to near death before decapitating her? Your alter ego is quite brutal so I imagine she didn’t have a pleasant end. Such a pity.” Pale yellow orbs gleamed in the scant light. Ciaran received a great deal of satisfaction taunting the tiger. His expressions and reactions were too perfect. They would make excellent additions to his collection of art once he retired to his room for the night, as would Kaya’s.

They who trained you, fed you, gave a place to live and be protected, they were like gods, and gods must be answered by doing whatever it is they ask for. What was even more hilarious, was the fact Kaya believed kids should surpass there parents, now that was some bull if she ever heard of any. "You're such an ignorant pest. I followed in my fathers tracks, because it was for a greater purpose. He wanted to find power, killing those villages were more than necessary in getting closer to seeking strength. He was doing it for his job in order to get by, and getting rid of any weaklings, weak links who are just wasting space. Anyone not strong enough to survive on there own doesn't belong in this world, the same applies to you!" The fire dragon slayer continued to laugh at Kaya, she obviously failed to see and understand the greater truth of reality around. "Oh my dear Kaya, you are failing to see the surrounding reality. Let me tell you how it will work, so your dense brain can truly pick up the meaning of this all. By capturing Dragon Slayers, I obtain your powers of slaying dragons, and by having you as a captive, you are unable to save anyone or get in the way. We captured Raine, for his special ability in blood magic, a quite rare power and gift. By taking the Dragon powers and placing them in others bodies, we can cause confusion, divert the attention of other mages, chaos ensures everywhere. Than, all there is left to do is have these non mages with dragon powers going crazy destroying towns and killing anyone failing to save themselves. In all of this, the weak will be defeated, the strong will survive. I intend to not spare any light mages though, I will let anyone who cares to join me in order to not be killed, but the rest must be exterminated". Kimura would say with a devilish grin, enjoying the very thought and idea behind it.

Kimura's cold stare gazed upon Kaya at the mention of there own dads, she seemed to believe her own believed in the best beliefs, what a load of crap. They seemed to believe different things, this was to be expected from a weakling light mage, who only believed in hope and rainbows. "What you fail to understand, is my father had a purpose in destroying villages. What everyone seeks, power and knowledge. It was the only way, and he always done what he must in order to obtain everything he needed to further his research. Fathers need not worry about the safety of others, it does not concern them. Your father was a moron, walking your same path, it's no wonder you really believe this isn't the way to obtaining power. Well, look around Kaya! It is, and when were done, none of you will survive. Mark my word." The fire dragon slayer grinned while a shady black covered much of her eyes, everything she'd ever worked for to reach her life long goals, it was all slowly becoming a reality! Only a few more pieces of the puzzle must be completed now, and than the new world will form into it's brand new glory!

Truly a naive girl, she seemed to believe she was going to win and everything was going to go her way, all light mages were like this, holding onto a hope that was meaningless in the end. "You really believe you're oh so powerful just because you barely managed to escape our grasps twice???! Hah! You and your father were nothing but jokes. Did you defeat us?? No!! Running is the weakest of weak. It means you're too powerless and scared to actually take on your enemy. It's sad really, how pathetic you really are." Kimura laughed at Kaya's remarks, she really understood nothing about power and winning battles. What was even more hilarious, this girl really believed that made her stronger in truth, what a joke!! "You're such a fool. The saying what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, is just an excuse weaklings use to sound tough. It just means they were lucky enough to get away with there life. All you have is luck, you have no real power. If you did, you wouldn't be our captive, now would you my dear?" She would question, smirking all the same. This girl was trying to sound like some powerful mage, but it wasn't working in her favor, not to the fire slayer it wasn't. Kimura's laughing only got louder, the more Kaya believed she was going to get out and win this raging war. "Go ahead and raise your hopes high into the sky. It'll only make you all the while more disappointed when you realize this false reality of yours is never going to happen. Accept your loss, you'll feel better knowing you won't be disappointed utterly. If I have no real strength, how is Raine here? How is this guild still running? Face it, you and your little friends are finished. There's nothing you can do now, and no one can save you either. This is the true reality." Kimura finished, though she grew annoyed when Kaya lashed out Shaw, if only that girl knew what she was getting into. Shaw began to drain her powers using the stone, laughing at her as she seemed to be in complete pain. Those tears escaping from her eyes, what a beautiful sight!! As Shaw continued draining the water slayers power, she began to speak while Kimura listened to every word spoken by her. She was impressed by how much information the girl was able to obtain, pleased by her work.

"Well that would make sense, father seemed to be intrigued in the water Slayer and her dad, he felt those two were necessary pieces in completing his puzzle. It is as I am doing now, followed his goals of forcing slayers powers into non mages. But yes, you are correct in believing that. He lacked the supplies, that's why I intend to complete now what he could not. Shaw was correct, her father had done everything in his power to achieve greatness, and even though he may have also believed it would be impossible, he tried nevertheless. A great man he was. "He was very dedicated in his work, it's quite inspiring. He was quite knowledgeable of how well the body functioned, it was likely a breeze knowing what Kaya could and could not handle, he had to take extra precautions that it wouldn't kill her in the process. I'm certain there is plenty of available time, your services in that would be greatly appreciative. Kimura answered with a grin, believing Shaw was very possible in completing what her father lacked the tools to do, she was extraordinary in smarts and believed she had what it took to figure it out. She waved off Shaw once she went to go examine the files, watching Kaya as the lacrima certainly did a ton of damage and pain to her, it was very interesting and entertaining to watch!! This brat deserved this hell, and sooo much more!!

                                                                      ████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████

            Raine's lip twitched in contempt.
"Yes. I saw. You know I saw," he mumbled. "Shows how much you know, potato boy. That's not the kind of torture that turns you away from the light. That kind, the kind where you see your family suffer, that spurs you on to stand up for those who may also be suffering or are in danger of it. That fairy... Kaya.. wouldn't turn to darkness. It's there, deep down. I can see in her eyes even from here that she wants to do the same to your b***h of a guild master as what was done to her, but she never would. She never could," he said, finally properly using the dragon slayer's name in a sentence, humanising her in his mind.
He looked up wearily at the dark wizard,
"Weapon?" he questioned, echoing the dark wizards words, "I don't know what you're talking about. I was experimented on for no reason other than some researchers mad curiosity," he stated. What was Ciaran talking about? He couldn't remember anything being said about being a weapon of mass destruction. Did he? All those tests... could they have been... no... surely not. It was pointless torture, that's all.
The blood mage's eyes flicked up upon hearing the scientist cry out in pain from Kaya's headbutt. He would have laughed had the following sound not be the screaming of the dragon slayer as her magic energy was drawn from her body by the deadly lacrima. He wanted to tell them to stop. To leave her alone. But as soon as he did it would make them want to carry on so he kept his mouth shut. That was until Ciaran touched back on the subject of his hallucination. Of course, no one had seen it but him and he'd passed out after. The b*****d wanted to know what had happened. What Blood Raine had done to Octavia. His stomach tensed and his chest tightened as he shook at the memory of blood running down the celestial wizard's front, her throat slashed by his counterparts hand.
"Shut up. SHUT UP! It's not my fault! I wouldn't... I'd never let him kill her! I'd rather die," he shouted, convinced with all his might that even now, in is mentally weakened state, he'd be able to hold off Blood Raine in her presence. He hated this. He hated feeling like this; upset, tired and helpless like a child. However, the scale was tipped suddenly when the dark ecriture mage decided bringing up a reference to the horror that almost happened in Octavia's bathroom. Raine's blood boiled and he clenched his fists, "I can't wait to get out of these chains. I'll tear you apart, you a*****e. Before you can lay so much as a fingertip on one of my guild mates, you'll find you don't have any ******** hands. You'll be the one I choke so hard your neck with break. I hate your guts and that's why I'll spill the, across the floor. Touch anyone. ANYONE. And I swear you'll regret it for the short life you have left," he roared, pushing himself forward to be so frustratingly shortly out of range from Ciaran. He could feel the binding spell straining under his body, uncomfortably pressing into his muscular arms and chest. The memory spell had clearly taken its toll on everything the potato had cast but Raine just wasn't strong enough anymore. He couldn't break them, not in this state. But his mind was becoming clearer. His hatred was coming unbearable. His fear of Octavia was growing. And his curiosity... the new nagging sensation of wanting to know what weapon Ciaran was talking about... that was surfacing too...

Guild- Fairy Tail | Magic- Water Dragon Slayer | Rank- A-rank

☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

Kaya listened in disbelief. How could Kimura think that her way was the right way? Killing innocent people—people who had done nothing to deserve to be murdered or harmed—and ruining their lives all for the sake of power and strength. These were things to be earned through hard work and training, not through stealing and death. Anyone could kill. There was nothing special about a person who did it so willingly. It took true strength and power to protect those weaker than yourself, and to coexist in peace. Why couldn’t they see that? The dark mages had become too engrossed in the depths of their insanity and greed. Kimura, as with her father, refused to consider any other possible means to greatness. Her mind having been poisoned by that man and his motives for far too long. Anything Kaya might’ve said to get the Fire Dragon Slayer to reconsider would only be turned back on her mockingly. There was simply no use in it. But, man did she have a lot she wanted to say! She wanted to tell Kimura off. To let her know how wrong she and her father were. If she could, she would rip apart those shaky notions bit by bit and tear the dark-haired girl’s ideologies asunder. The Water Dragon Slayer just didn’t have the energy to argue anymore though. Not for the moment anyway. Although it bothered her, she decided to ignore any further comments from the guild master, which wasn’t an easy task. Resting her chin to her chest, Kaya mumbled, “You’re wrong. You’ll see.” It was barely a whisper, but loud enough for her counterpart to hear. A final defiance before falling completely silent.

Yet the raven-haired teenager wouldn’t stay quiet or still for long. If the scientist wanted to drain her magic, then she’d be in for one heck of a struggle. Kaya wasn’t about to give it up easily, especially knowing what its potential uses. She fought against her bindings with all the strength she could muster, striking out at the brunette when she got close enough. For a brief second, the girl felt elated when her head connected to Shaw’s cheek. A little payback was always nice. Though it was short-lived as the scientist slammed the draining lacrima on her neck. Pain unlike any other racked her body for what seemed an eternity. Screams tore from her. Beneath them, like an undercurrent of evil, came Kimura’s cackling. Then there was nothing. Kaya’s world faded to black as unconsciousness claimed her at last. She knew none of what was spoken or done after that moment. Neither saw nor heard anything which might pertain to her or Raine. Ultimately incapable of forming a single thought. It was both a blessing and a curse for the younger slayer. A much-needed respite intermingled with a vulnerableness she’d prefer not to give Kimura. Not that she had any say in the matter in the end…

His lips parted in a grim smirk. “Ah,” he held up one finger, eyes alight with coyness. “That, my dear comrade, sounds very much like a challenge. You think her incapable of turning away from the light?” He pivoted once again to view the girl. His expression remained nonplussed as his gaze bore into her. An intriguing hypothesis, Ciaran admitted. The redhead assumed the slayer would never allow darkness to overcome her, despite the circumstances she found herself in. It presented a quandary which they were uniquely capable of probing and testing. What WOULD it take to drive a light mage to the depths of darkness? He deigned not ask the question if it could even be done. Of course, it could be done! Everyone held a smidgeon of darkness within them. It was merely a matter of nurturing it and allowing it to flourish, instead of locking it away behind niceties and kindnesses. “Well,” he looked back to Raine with a knowing glint in his yellow orbs. “I accept. I’ll do everything within my power to drive her into those blackened depths. When all is said and done, she’ll renounce her place in the light. She’ll yearn to do the bidding of the darkness. All the while you’ll be relegated to watching her demise and subsequent rebirth. There may even be a demonstration when the time comes. You would appreciate that, wouldn’t you?” Yes, he was quite enjoying this idea the more he contemplated it. Granted, he would first have to speak with Kimura. The tests and experiments were priority, followed closely by his love’s need for revenge. Yet…what better revenge could she have on the girl than to renounce her core beliefs?

Tucking his arm under his elbow, Ciaran rested his chin in his palm, cupping his fingers around his cheek. “No?” He questioned, feigning curiosity. “Surely you’re not that dense. Scientists don’t randomly run experiments for the sake of inquisitiveness. There’s always a reason. A goal that must be achieved. Even if that goal is merely to test the limits of one’s body, or to determine the strength of the mind. You, however, were meant for something far more than these. YOU are a weapon, Blood Raine. You might as well accept that is what you are, and what you were always meant to be. The sooner you’re able to do so, the easier it will be for you in the end.” The Dark Écriture mage hefted a theatrical sigh, making a flippant gesture with his hand, “Of course, there would be some necessary measures to take if we wanted to reach your full potential. Measures which are simple enough to reach when afforded the appropriate opportunities. Not that you’ll be aware of them in such instances. But…I digress.” He did so love to make vague references to his plans. The chances of the tiger drawing the proper conclusions from them were slightly above average, and thus would lend to his delicious ravings. Those looks of horror and rage were as kindling to a fire, sparking Ciaran’s artistic flare. Much as they were doing now as the man threatened to end him. “My my, such colorful language,” he cooed with that Irish lilt tinging his words. “You really should consider your words more carefully. There is power in words, after all, and you never know when something will be said that truly shouldn’t.” The white-haired male strode forward confidently until he stood close enough to whisper into Raine’s ear. “We’ve already won, Blood Raine. You have nothing here. You ARE nothing here. Your guild will fall by our hands. They will bend to our might. Your little girlfriend will meet a painful end, and you shall stand here powerless to stop it.”

Ciaran’s smile widened to fill his face. Taking a step back, he locked onto the weary orbs of the redhead. He would seek to prove his point by beginning with the first of the challenges set forth by Raine. “When you say ‘anyone’…does that pertain to her?” He tilted his head to indicate Kaya. The dark mage did not believe the answer to be yes. In truth, he suspected “anyone” had meant those specifically within Sabertooth. However, Ciaran wondered if Raine might extend the same curtesy to his fellow prisoner. Not that his answer would come in an obvious manner. The Blood mage was no fool. Even if he were to accept the fairy he would not confess it for fear of its use against him. No matter the response, Ciaran had already planned his next course of action. He would bide a little more time before enacting it, however, in order to give Kimura the pleasure of dealing with the fairy in her chosen method.

Kimura practically glared daggers into the girl, even more so when she head butted her loving assistant. To attempt to injure one of her employers, this girl was head over heels in being quite unaware of the anger she was causing. Fueling the anger of a guild master no doubt as well. As Shaw retaliated in return, she laughed hilariously as Kaya's own screams of torment echoed through the halls. This water brat had gotten exactly what she deserved, it just didn't feel like enough pain was givin to such a brat like her though. She wanted the girl to know real fear, to be too afraid to say one word with an incredible amount of pain coming her way should she open her rather loud mouth. But this girl was incredibly persistent, a stubborn mule to be exact. As soon as Kaya's vision turned to black darkness, Kimura quickly grasped her slung over neck, releasing fire from her hand and heating Kaya's body as she remained out like a light. "You will never win. You will live down here like the wild disgusting animal you were born as, dragons were meant to be enslaved after all. This is your reality, never ending pain and torment, you will suffer it all day and night. You will know pain so well when I am through with you, and you will eventually die by my hands. Your father should of never gotten in the way, because of him, you're ending up in such a terrible position. It's certainly a great cause for him to be dead and gone." Kimura smirked in a mocking tone, looking into her closed unconcious eyes, before thrusting the flames within her fist with even more fire power, throwing a very hard punch straight to her gut. She would most defiantly be feeling that once she'd awoken, for now she'd get off lucky. Of course she knew not to kill her, not until everyone was done toying with her, and she'd just become useless trash to there experiments. "You will make a fine tool for all of our experiments. And everyone will know this." Kimura smirked once again, throwing her head at the wall and backing off some, her smirk never fading. She was quite pleased with how the plans were going, the ones that were succeeding anyways. Ciaran seemed to be enjoying his own tormenting abilities with Raine, she was also very pleased to see him making great headway as well. These two would be tormented until the day they dropped and fell into death, that much was for the greater certainty.

Raine scoffed at the confidence Ciaran seemed to have about Kaya's darkness and how much sway it might have over her. Yes, he was ultimately guessing at what went on in the dragon slayer's head when she choice to walk the path of light but he was damn sure that the dark wizard was wrong,
"You've tortured her, beaten her, dragged painful memories from the depths of her mind and she's still fighting back against you. She won't turn away. You just have too much of an ego on you to let it be," he smirked. Listening to the dark ecriture mage's ramblings of pulling her to the dark side, the blood mage still found it within himself to roll his eyes, "Considering you watched me for so long, you really know nothing about me. I relish in destroying those who deserve the pain I deal out. But Kaya hasn't done anything wrong. I wouldn't enjoy watching her being put through the ringer just to satisfy your self-appointed challenge of turning her into a monster," he said. Raine might be considered a sick individual but he did have vague morals.
The blood mage's mind reeled, thinking back to all those experiments. The problem-solving, the obedience drilled into his mind, the constant demand for perfection in his spells, the harsh punishment every time he personified an opponent when he should have seen them as nothing more than an obstacle. Destined to be a weapon. It made sense. It would explain how easily he find it to follow a strict training regime without fail, how he could completely ignore the fact he was killing human beings, only seeing them as objects. His fists clenched as Ciaran continued explaining his long-winded plans.
"What do you think you're going to do? Reprogram me into being the weapon those basket case scientists wanted me to be? These measures you're talking about are just empty words. You don't know what you're talking about. There are no measures. What could you possibly do to revert me back to the stage my twelve-year old self was at all those years ago, hmm?" he questioned, his lip twitching in contempt.

Raine growled. A sound that could have passed for more animal than man.
"Your words have no power over me. You don't scare me or make me fear for Octavia's life. You can't get near her. Just because I'm down here and can't see what's going on doesn't mean I don't know what my guild have done. They will have rallied together by now and built a barrier of their strongest around the ones you think you could pick off so easily," he stated with a smirk. The dark wizard was far too full of himself. What he would give to knock him down a few pegs. The blood mage narrowed his eyes when Ciaran asked if the threats applied to Kaya, "You know damn well I can't stop you from putting your filthy hands on her but don't worry, I'm keeping score for payback," he reassured the dark ecriture mage. The idea of hurting this man seemed to give Raine a new bought of desire to stay alive.

Ciaran chuckled in amusement. Did the Blood mage truly not comprehend the power they held over the fairy? Did he sincerely believe she was too pure to be corrupted by their ways? If this were the case, then he would simply have to demonstrate how incorrect the redhead was. “Oh my, it seems as if you don’t fully understand the circumstances in which she has been placed. You see, Blood Raine, her suffering and torment have only just begun. Do you think us so weak that we’ve already reached the pinnacle of what we are capable of performing?” He unleashed a harsh bark of a laugh, shaking his head. “No, no, no. We have much more than what you’ve seen thus far. Try as she might, our little Water Dragon over there won’t be able to stand against what’s in store for her. She can fight all she wishes, but she will break. She will crumble and fall. Oh, yes, sputnik. It’ll be glorious too,” he cooed. The Dark Écriture mage practically tasted the anguish to come. Her screams of pain, her blood and sweat and tears all would fill the underground cells. These walls would echo with her cries. The cement absorb her distress. “And, when all is said and done, you will view her in a different light. It will take but one act to prove her descent into darkness a success. THAT is what I reference, Blood Raine. You may not enjoy it at first, but I have no doubt you will ultimately view things as I do. I’ll make certain her final task is something worthy of your praise. You need not concern yourself with that.” He would do all he could to win his “self-appointed challenge,” as Raine had put it. The fairy would become a monster. Her light extinguished by darkness.

He witnessed recognition dawn in Raine’s features. He’s at last come to recognize the truth of it, he mused cheerfully. It had taken the tiger long enough. Too long even. For someone so cunning and devious in his own right, the Sabertooth mage appeared to waste precious time placing the pieces of the puzzle together. Granted, his dullness might be attributed to the drugs coursing through his system, or maybe the lack of sleep and increased levels of pain he was subjected to. No matter, Ciaran brushed the anomalous behavior aside. What mattered in the moment was the realization that he was created to be a weapon to destroy lives and nothing more. Lips twitching in a smirk, Ciaran shrugged dismissively, “Now why would I give away such juicy details, hmm? You needn’t worry yourself about it, my bloody friend. You’ll learn of what we have in store for you in due time. Rest assured, however, there are plenty of methods available to us which will shape and mold you into what you were meant to be.” Ciaran would relish the day these plans came to fruition. Not only would the light mages have lost two powerful wizards for their side, but Dragon’s Bane would have gained two weapons whom could be used to wreak havoc on the world. They would be set upon the earth to rid the planet of the weak and helpless. It made him giddy just contemplating it. Kimura’s world was within sight! A world built for those mightiest of mages. A world bereft of pain and loss because only the strong would be able to survive in it. Above all else, though, it was a world to be ruled by his Acushla.

“You think not?” The white-haired male toyed with the bottom of his lip. It was tragically delectable how the redhead held on to hope. “As I recall, your guilds are lacking their strongest members. It would be nothing for us to send our forces to take what we desired.” Except, he would not be so gauche in his methods. A full assault would be expected by the light guilds by now. “But an all-out assault would be boring. A waste of resources, to be honest.” Delight danced in his pale-yellow orbs. “Now subterfuge is far superior of a method. Why, it would take a few extra steps of course, yet it would be so easy to get to the girl. Take into consideration how we managed to snag Kaya here,” he jerked his thumb at the unconscious girl. “We simply set our trap and lay in wait until she came to us. Dragon Slayers are well-known for their keen senses. Do you think we aren’t aware of them? Of course we are! We used the kidnappings of the teenagers to lure the Slayers out into the open, well away from the safety of your guilds. It is just as easy to obtain Octavia.” He may have been revealing too much of their plans; however, Ciaran could not begrudge himself a small iota of praise. His strategies worked thus far, why would they fail at any other juncture? “Aww,” Ciaran placed a hand over his heart as if touched by his words. “You DO care about her. Despite your best efforts to avoid answering my question, you have already done so. Don’t fool yourself by thinking I haven’t noticed,” he waggled his finger, “You’ve started using her name instead of calling her ‘fairy.’ Why, Raine, I do believe that goes against your very nature! While you’ve finally humanized her in your mind, my goal is somewhat the opposite…”

Once again, he crossed the threshold of one cell into the other. The tool for his decided course of action already lay at the ready, glowing a vibrant reddish orange. “My love,” he addressed Kimura with a bow of his head. A radiant gleam lit his features as he took the brand in his left hand and a scalpel in his right. “I think it’s time we make it official, yes?” Knowing he would receive her blessing, he paused but for a second before moving to the Water Dragon Slayer’s right side. Ciaran tucked the scalpel right above the top of her rib cage. Slicing downward, he ripped a hole in her clothing from a half inch beneath her breast to the top of her hip, exposing the bare skin beneath. “With this,” the man pressed the hot iron of the brand to her side without preamble, searing the symbol of the Dragon’s Bane guild into her flesh. A string of numbers below it followed in quick succession. Each number held a significance to their goals. 002 designated her among the first ever of the test subjects whereas 081 was her currently assigned subject number. Ciaran licked his lips as he placed the last of the numbers upon her skin. Her screams of agony replenishing his black soul. “The fairy is now the property of Dragon’s Bane,” he beamed at Kimura. Kaya was theirs, forever and always.
