Lin and smiled and bowed to Professor Leaton and Mr. Enlil when they thanked her. They ran off before she could say 'you are welcome', but that was alright. They were all very short on time.

She had to find Professor Wolfe and that Kai individual now. So, she ran over to the secretary, who worked there all the time it seemed, and asked where he might be.

"I don't know where he is specifically, but he has a very clear silver aura about him. You should be able to notice it clearly."

Lin frowned slightly and thought about it. "Well, that would be good, except I do not even know where to begin to search for his aura. I do not even know if he is still at this school."

After a few moments of silence, neither knowing what to do in order to find Kai, Lin stood back from the secretary's desk and nodded her head.

"Well, I will simply have to find Professor Akakios and ask him. Thank you for your help, Miss."

The secretary nodded and then went back to her paperwork. Lin turned and closed her eyes to sense where her professor was. Since he was so powerful, she could find him easily if he was nearby. And it turned out that he was. Outside but still on the school grounds. In a shack... That was interesting.

She wasn't sure he'd want her to go and find him since he wanted to give 2 of the potions to the recipients on his own, but she couldn't do her job if she didn't know where to find a person she needed to give one of her potions to.

So, she squared her shoulders and jetted out to the shack...

And almost doubled over in pain. There was a cloud, a thick fog of dark magic hanging over the shack. It covered it. It was enough to make Lin dizzy. She almost fell to the ground as it hit her, but she had to keep moving forward. She had a very important job to do. Someone's health was depending on her.

So even though it was one of the worst experiences she could ever imagine, she knew she had a job to do and she gritted her teeth and forced herself forward. She stumbled into the doorway, leaned against the door jam, and was about to say something when she saw Professor Akakios standing in the room along with other people, but the last thing someone said stopped her.

It was someone so incredibly dark who had just suggested the most uncouth and uncivilized thing she had ever heard. She didn't know how to respond, though. She hated to admit it, but she was scared. Very scared by this man's presence.

((Um. Are they all wherever Cook is? Because if so, then Athena's actually there too... Just saying.))

"Heh, and here she is now."
He turned to face the new arrival, standing upright once more; his hood grazed the ceiling of the small shack. He smiled, nothing malicious, nothing horrifying, merely a smile. Riser knew how to manipulate people, how to toy with their heads, and now this tall, thin, faceless man was smiling at her politely as his dark presence closed in on her from all sides.
"Hello lovely."

"I. Do. NOT. WORK LIKE THAT," Ophiuchus hissed in an awful other-worldly voice. His aura was shining a bright white against Riser's darkness. "You are awful and horrible and you need to go DIE SOMEWHERE VERY FAR AWAY - Lin! Why are you here?"

Alec hadn't seen Riser initially he was hiding in the shadows so well, but even now Alec was having a hard time keeping his emotions intact. It was when Riser made his last outburst about Lin's integrity that he finally snapped. In a flash Alec was across the room and holding Riser up against the wall by his throat. Alec spoke to him loud enough that anyone else in the room who cared to listen would hear him. "Listen jackass, I don't care who you are, or who you think you are, or what you believe in. I don't know if you've noticed, but right now you're horribly outnumbered, and in your current state outmatched. I suggest you keep your trap shut and dispell any more thoughts you might have about any of my students, or any other person in general. You get me?"

Everything happened so fast. It made Lin's head spin. This dark, very scary individual had been looking at her, smiling. His smile should have been normal. It looked normal, but it felt terrible. Everything about him felt terrible. And it was seeping off of him. The darkness was heading toward her, crowding her. It was pushing her against the door, or maybe she was the one pressing against the door trying to get away from it.

And then she felt a pulse of white magic and she whipped her head to the side to look at her professor. She heard him yell at her. She knew he was just angry right now, and not angry at her, but it still frightened her.

And then Professor Leaton had thrown the dark individual up against a wall. This was all so much. Lin liked to think of herself as a strong person, but this was insane. She wanted to prove to Professor Akakios that she could handle herself. So she tried to stay in the doorway. She forced herself to stay there, and it was so hard for her to do.

She spoke to her professor, her voice very loud in her head, but it was actually merely a whisper.

"I... I could not... I need to find... the individual Kai. I do not know where to look, sir... I needed to ask you."

In a flash he was against the wall; god how he hated mortality.
"You filthy ******** coward, attacking me while you know I'm weak. I saved your life and the lives of everyone else in that building and that entire ******** city. Show some gratitude, I'm entitled to my opinion. I know that snake far better than anyone alive, and if I feel like revealing his inner thoughts, I will. Now I suggest you put me down before I use what little energy I have left to paint that wall behind you with the contents of your skull."
The Fallen was becoming angry, and even in his current state his energy was quite impressive; had Alec grabbed him mere minutes ago, before he had that potion, things would have been going much more in his favor. This was a change though, he certainly hadn't dealt with anyone like this in years.

Alec didn't even blink as he flicked his wrist, sending Riser into the freshly made portal directly behind him. When Riser arrived, he'd find himself in a very nasty place, someplace he'd probably hope to never see in his current state.

Alec turned around to face the bewildered individuals around him, wiping his hands clean as he spoke to them all at once. "Well, that takes care of that. Something tells me he won't like the weather out at Metis this time of the year."

Alec was of course referring to the floating mass Metis, one of the incredibly tiny moons of Jupiter in the far reaches of space.

A dark tear appeared in the ceiling of the shack, and seconds later that same dark individual rejoined the socializing.
He hit the floor hard, gasping for breath, his entire body covered in ice crystals and some strange otherworldly dust or sand. "******** that, fuuuuuck that. God I hate space so much, soooooooooo very much."
He stood up slowly, dizzily, as the ice and dust began to fall to the floor. He placed a hand on his head in hopes that his vision would straighten out.
"I'll...give you credit...that was clever. I'll keep to myself for now, but when I'm back to my natural state, we have some discussing to do."
The dark pressure surrounding the shack began to relent; it was still there, and would still take a toll on any unaccustomed to it, but it had clearly been drawn back.

First priority to Ophiuchus now: Lin. Ialo could wait, he would understand what was going on. Lin might not.

"Lin!" The healer hurried over and took one of her hands. A simple touch was all it would take for the darkness to stop hurting her so much. "Lin, Kai is right here, he's busy, oh Lin, you can't be here right now! You look you need one of your own potions!"

That ******** b*****d Riser, even insinuating anything between Ophiuchus and Lin. That was an interesting move on Alec's part, but just like Ophi expected, Riser came right back and none-too-pleased.

Lin was almost cringing at all of the fighting, cursing, and darkness that filled the room. This was horrible.

And then a white light seemed to encompass her. She could feel the darkness in the room, but it didn't touch her. A powerful white light was protecting her.

And then she looked down at her hand and saw that a larger, stronger one was holding hers. She knew it was Professor Akakios's hand. She could feel it.

She looked up at her professor, tears in her eyes from all the pain and confusion she had experienced in just a few seconds, and then ran into his arms. He was the only source of relief in the room, and she wanted to be near it. She wanted to be near him.

"I... I had a job, Professor. I still do. I need to see it through."

Ophiuchus made a funny little noise when Lin latched onto him. Well, he certainly hadn't expected that. "Lin..." He mentally pleaded that Riser would not make any snarky remarks. All for naught, but hope was hope. "Lin, this is exactly why I insisted on doing these two runs by myself. You weren't supposed to see all this mess. But if it's any consolation, you did find Kai..."

Lin nodded and then sighed as she detached herself from her professor. The white energy was still around her, but it wasn't as potent now that her arms weren't around him. She hated it, but she wasn't a child. She needed to be strong.

She squared her shoulders, gritted her teeth slightly, and walked over to the individual that she saw had a silvery aura about him... somehow appearing through the darkness Lin could see.

She nodded her head to Kai and held out her hand. "Hello, sir. My name is Lin and I have a potion for you. It will give you a much-needed boost to your powers and energy as soon as you ingest it."

Amidst all the uproar, Nathan grabbed the other vial, and tilted his son's head up. It sent a pang through his heart - he had never seen Ialo so miserable and stressed in his sleep. "C'mon kiddo," he whispered. He jabbed Ialo in the side, just hard enough to cause him to stir slightly. "You need to swallow this."

Ialo felt someone poke him. It was just jarring enough to allow him to move in the gray sea of unconsciousness. He heard a familiar voice, and trusted that whatever was being poured in his mouth was safe to swallow. Immediately he began to feel so much better. Still sleepy, but at least now he could move his own body.

And, sense the commotion right beside him. "One crisis at a time..." he whispered. Only his dad was close enough to hear him.

Nathan chuckled softly. "Right, I got it."

He stood up and cleared his throat - but that wasn't what would catch everyone's attention. It would be the way Nathan spoke. Confident, commanding. It wasn't often a human spoke like that to a crowd greatly overpowering him.

"One crisis at a time!!"

Ophiuchus stared at the man, surprised at this outburst.

"We have a memorial service starting five minutes ago! Unless you're doing something important, like, say, administering medicine, then leave. And if you are, then you conduct your business and leave ASAP. You! Leaton, Riser!" All titles were out the window.

"Take it out of here, and away from the site of mourning. Frankly, you two are an embarrassment."

Ialo feebly pumped his fist, egging his dad on. Obviously, the Headmaster supported this new, temporary chain of command.

"If anyone DOES want to be useful around here, then I suggest they find some lights to go outside, tissues, and a Bible."

Lin jumped noticeably when she heard Mr. Enlil shout at everyone. Luckily, she had already put the potion in Kai's hand so she didn't drop it in the shock.

She quickly and gracefully walked back over to Professor Akakios and grasped his hand in hers. She did not care how it looked. He provided her with calmness and tranquility. He was such a strong source of white magic.

What she didn't realize, and what didn't have anything to do with his was magic, was that she had moved her body closely to Ophiuchus's. Her shoulder was even brushing lightly against his chest as she seemed to shield herself behind him.

She whispered to her professor, "Professor, I want to see Ambrose, make sure he is alright, but as much as I abhor admitting this, I can barely stand right now. There is so much darkness here."
