It seemed the best idea to get out of the light of the sun - even though he'd chosen to go 'sleeveless' he could still feel the heat on his skin and the shade seemed a welcome respite from the burning sensation that he really wasn't used to.

Almost certain that he was going to find something or other, the Shadowmancer made his way carefully towards the back of the Alleyway, his eyes glancing this way and that before reaching the brick wall that clearly led nowhere... It was tempting to call out for her - albeit quietly - but he would wait for a moment at the dead end before presuming he'd made a mistake and turn back. "...I was almost certain...!" Mulling over how he'd made such a mistake, Tala would lift his gaze as he retraced his steps towards the mouth of the alley before suddenly realising he wasn't alone.

How he'd failed to notice the female at first was beyond him but Tala swiftly put the small space between the two buildings between them and formed a dagger of shadows in his hand - for his own defense of course - Not once did he take his eyes from her as he moved,

"You again?" he bit back a snarl - what was she doing here? Was she following him? "What do you want?" he certainly wasn't impressed - the female had been in the Market the day before and to suddenly appear in the same alleyway as him - without warning - had to be suspicious. "Tell me now, or I'll..." he paused, trying to think of a threat, knowing his dagger wouldn't do much more than leave a deep cut similar to a slice from cardboard if he was lucky...

    [- Enter Gin & Rin into Market - ]

With Rin at his side, Gin led the way out of the Housing District and into the Market District. It was still early enough that there weren’t too many people around, but there were enough people that Gin made it a point to offer Rin his hand as they walked, so they wouldn’t get separated. The ultimate goal for the day was to get Rin a new wardrobe, or at least an outfit or two to tide her over for a few days while another few outfits were made. He suspected that his sister would be sheepish about accepting the clothes, so he’d have to be crafty about how he approached the subject.

As they walked, his stomach growled a bit, demanding at least a few morsels to nibble on. Leading Rin over to one of the vendors, they each received a pastry of their choice and a small cup of tea to wash it all down. After devouring his muffin and gulping down his tea, he let his gaze wander over the vendors and the other people in the area. It wasn’t hard for his sensitive ears to pick up the sound of music drifting through the area. Ears twitching lightly, Gin smirked a little. Whoever the musician was, they were very talented at the violin.

Once Rin was finished with her snack, he gestured toward the area that the music emanated from. “Let’s do some exploring.” It was just as well, there were several tailor and clothes shops in that general direction anyway, so it wasn’t out of the way. Upon reaching the area where the music was at it’s loudest, Gin noted the small crowd that had gathered to listen to the music and tip the musician with some spare coins.

Curious, Gin stepped forward to see his fellow graduate, Patrick Lockheart. Lost in the music, Patrick seemed to sway with the movements of the violin as he played. Although he and Patrick weren’t close, Gin knew of the Diviner. They weren’t friends, by any means, but they weren’t enemies either – mere acquaintances. Once the song came to it’s end, Gin clapped along with the crowd. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a few coppers and tossed them in with the rest to pay tribute.

Although used to playing in the solitude of his Dorm Room with his eyes closed, Patrick knew that even though Eoana was relatively safe, he still needed to be aware of what was going around him - just in case. At the occasional clink of coin landing he would nod and smile towards the donator, grateful for what they gave, even though they didn't have to. Depending on how much he made that day, he planned to keep a little to buy something afterwards, then perhaps donate the rest to someone else who needed it more.

At one point, Branwen fluttered down, picking through the coins until a particularly shiny one caught her eye - casting a glance back towards the Diviner, she would pick it up in her beak and take off - Some of the crowd were startled by this and others even made comment, but Rick knew she was probably hungry - rarely did she consider bringing something back for him, but she wasn't silly after all and although it was alright to scavenge from what had already hit the floor, vendors didn't take kindly to rather recognisable Ravens purloining their stock without leaving something in exchange...

Given the option, he would have tried to link with her and see where exactly she had gone, but had he done that, he would have created even more trouble as if he had as he would have collapsed to the ground and well...A visit to the Infirmary wasn't on the cards that day.

He continued to play, reassuring a concerned female with a wink and a smile before a familiar face stepped to the front of the crowd. Patrick recognised Gin and his Sister almost instantly as he rarely forgot a face, names on the other hand were a little more difficult to get entirely right, "Thank you," he would nod, smiling, "Hope you're enjoying the break?" he couldn't recall whether or not the male was returning to the Academy, but he hoped he would still see him around.

Depending on the Shifter's reply, Rick would skip his next singing piece for another instrumental so he could listen to the male's answer - or his Sister's? - Rick didn't mind as it was nice to talk with people, but if Gin decided to keep it short, the Diviner would nod again and bid them farewell before starting on his next vocal.

It seemed she wasn't exactly welcome in the males presence as he appeared to take a defensive posture, forming some sort of weapon from... "Shadows..?" Philia raised an eyebrow in surprise, fascinating. Now isn't a time to analyze the boy however, he clearly seemed to be trying to avoid company... For what purpose though? Regardless she couldn't risk leaving only to turn out she was in the right place.

"You'll what? Cause a scene..." Her gaze turned noticably colder, but her posture remained lax while she was leaning up against the wall. Philia started to speak slowly, emphasising her words to catch his attention, or perhaps get him to back off. "There's a lot of people out there... One sound. That's all it would take. Being in such a secluded area sure wouldn't help your case either..." The woman straightened herself up and went to approach the boy at a slow pace, making her movements clear... But she could not help but wonder.

"Come to think of it... Why ARE you here..." Her gaze remained locked on his armed hand. He didn't seem like he was homeless, yet it's a safe bet the boy is adamant on holding his ground. This may be a problem... But if she tried to challenge the boy, it would waste too much time. "Perhaps you are hiding something?" Maybe some kind of stash, or something personal? "Hm... Or..." ...Perhaps he was hiding something more devious. Maybe a body? Was he stealing? Possibilties seem endless...

With the academy on break, Merek has more free time to do what he has been doing with the little free time he has. He has accomplished many things as a doctor, but writing a book is something new for him. The type of medicines he creates is something he feels that he should be sharing with fellow doctors, although he is not sure if his peers will accept his methods. What he does is unusual, but he has been doing well over the years and can provide evidence based on his research, experiments and patient results. Of course, he can't be spending all his time sitting in a room and writing his book. It is the summertime, which for him is the best season for him to be out and about. No longer does have to wear clothes that cover him totally. He can wear the clothes that are most comfortable to him and proudly show off what he grew up with. In addition, he may have a chance to meet other people outside of the academy. The school year certainly did not lack students who had to visit him for some kind of treatment. Even though the school year is over and the summer break has begun, there are still students who decided to remain at the academy. The likelihood of receiving visitors at the infirmary has gone down, but he cannot ignore his responsibilities as a doctor. Something he will have to do when he returns to the academy is to write down notes about the medicine he has available at the infirmary. It should be instructions on how to apply these medicines for common things like colds, coughs, bruises, cuts, and so on if he is not in the infirmary. Right now, he just wants to explore the market district and browse the local vendors. Of course, he is acting friendly toward everyone he is meeting, especially the women, who he is making feel extra special be it a kiss on the hand or a compliment about their beauty, something that most if not all of them deeply appreciated.

Tala realised what he'd done when the female's expression changed ever so slightly as she noted he'd used shadows to create the weapon. He would cast a brief glance towards the dagger in his hand, then back at her, narrowing his eyes as she calmly attempted to answer for him... He would listen as she emphasised that any sound would draw unwanted attention towards them - and if those guards were lurking again, it wouldn't bode well for him to be caught with a dagger in his hand - Good thing he could dispel it if he needed to!

"I'm not the one they'll find." he knew his abilities would allow him to remain hidden in the shadows for as long as he was quiet - but he would then recall the Shifter he'd narrowly avoided before - With at least 2 shifters in the Guard's Ranks he remembered that with Thanya's heightened sense of smell she could have easily found his location back in the Courtyard...but this one didn't have the visible traits of someone with that Raiment, so he felt relatively safe in that aspect...until he thought about Cyrus...

"Stay back!" he would tense as she started to approach, stifling a growl as his foot slid back slightly - ready to back up if she got too close... "It's none of your business!" This would perhaps be a final warning? He knew there was no visible way out of the alleyway - except for the one that she was blocking - and if push came to shove and his back came to the wall, he knew he could unleash heck and then hide if he had to.

It was fine to threaten - having seen a few disagreements in his time, Tala knew that most people backed off once a weapon was involved, but with the sound of Rick's music still playing in the background, Tala was forced to consider a backup plan incase she continued to advance...

It was intriguing how confident the boy seemed in his abilty to go undetected... That can only mean there's a more direct influence he has over shadows than just forming objects. A slight smirk run along her face. "Awfully aggressive aren't you?" She taunted the male. Philia was certainly curious, but unfortunately she's already wasted enough time.

Raising her hand up to her face, Philia let loose a deep sigh and turned away from the male. "As much as I would like to chat... This is wasting my time." The woman proceeded to leave the alleyway, hopefully she is meant to be at another location... Taking one last look at the shadowmancer, Philia spoke once more."See you around..." Finally, she took her leave. Once out of the alleyway she groaned with frustration. Time to continue looking it seems.

Rin would hug her brothers arm while they walked, her red eyes rushing to catch each and every sight... "Wahh..! It's so lively..!" She chirped, there were so many different stalls, produce and people all throughout the streets, friendly chatter as well as various fascinating smells flooding the Shifter girls senses, it was thrilling. Like a curious child she would tug on Gin's arm to approach nearby stands and examine, sometimes if her brother was fine with it, would end up walking away with a little snack.

While they explored little bumps could be seen beneath her hood, her ears going to stand at attention when she heard music. Rin's bro seemed drawn to it as the duo were soon approaching the source.

The sound seemed to be coming from a ginger boy with a violin, a face she hazily recalls seeing at the Academy Graduation. Her red stare set on how he played while Gin went to provide him with a tip.

She stood in silence while the boy are her brother conversed, positioning herself behind him while still being about to watch the male with caution... If their chat would go on for long Rin would grow antsy, tugging her brother arm to inform him... She'd still like to look at clothing, so she might start saving for something she liked.

He didn't trust her, the way she stared at him, seemingly analysing his every move, listening intently to every word he said... He still hadn't worked out her purpose for being there, but if she was going to give him trouble, then regardless of the outcome he was prepared to retaliate as best he could.

It kinda threw him off when the female nonchalantly threw a taunt in his direction before releasing a sigh and dismissing herself from the situation - Tala could only watch as she turned and took her leave of the alleyway, casting a final glance over her shoulder at him before stating she would see him around - He hoped not. If she was following him, then he would have to be extra specially careful when seeking out the Witch. Having already contacted him, Tala knew time was of the essence and he was wasting it by messing around... He swiftly presumed that Baba had to have been waiting nearby, but chose not to approach because the female was onto them... That meant he would have to head elsewhere and hope his instincts drew him in the right direction.

Dispelling the dagger, Tala would cast a glance over his shoulder towards the end of the alley, then take a cautious walk back towards the entrance, glancing this way and that before he stepped out into the sunlight again.

“Well enough, I guess…you look like yorue having fun at least.” Gin wasn’t good at chit-chat, especially with people he hardly knew, but he was making an effort and that’s what mattered. After a few moments, Patrick took up his violin again and began to play for the crowd. He wasn’t sure if Patrick needed the money, but it was clear that he enjoyed pleasing the crowd.

Gin and Rin stood there listening, his sister standing behind him, hiding and observing in silence. After a time, as was expected, Rin began to tug at his arm, wanting to get back to their exploring. Looking down at his sister, he nodded a little. Looking back at Rick, he gave the guy a little nod as if to say ‘see ya later’ before stepping away to lead his sister back toward the stalls.

“Alright…. lets see what we can find.” He said as he offered her his hand or arm, whichever she preferred and led her from vendor to vendor. Anything that Rin showed even a remote interest in, clothing wise, Gin bought. He didn’t care if she got upset with him, huffed and puffed, growled or protested, he wanted his sister to have nice clothes, clothes that fit well and suited her wants and her needs.

By the time they reached the far end of the street, Gin had his arms full of items that he knew Rin would use, and even if she didn’t, it didn’t matter. Nodding towards a boutique that sold hair accessories and jewelry for young girls, he led the way over. “See anything you like?” He asked, peering at a few of the hair combs that he thought Rin might like to use once classes started up again.

"Ah, just something to pass the time," Rick would smile, "All goes to a good cause at the end of the day," he wouldn't exactly reveal where the extra change was going as he hadn't quite decided, but at the end of the day, he was happy and had made others happy in the process.

He would nod to Gin in acknowledgement as he and his Sister took their leave, continuing on with a vocal song before watching as Branwen returned. There was no knowing what the Raven had retrieved as it was contained within a bag which she dropped onto the bench behind him, but he presumed she'd been 'good' rather than scavenging or stealing... so he didn't mind.

As his next song came to an end, the Diviner would smile, watching as the crowd started to disperse off into the market. It was time for a break at least and as he set his violin into its case, he would make his way back towards the bench, ushering the Raven aside before picking up the bag. "What did you get us then?"

"Wrapped it up." Branwen sounded a little disappointed by that and Rick could only assume that the vendor had thought they were being helpful...? Opening the bag, he took out one of two rolls - obviously someone had recognised the quite distinguishable White Raven, presumed she was together with him and so put in two, rather than just the one item. He knew the greedy bird would attempt to eat an entire roll by herself however, so instead split it in half for later.

"Good job." he would smile, taking a bite of his own roll - and taking some water from his pouch - before setting Bran's half on the bench beside him. It was amusing to watch her as she placed a white clawed foot upon the half, pinning it down as she pulled pieces away with her beak, "We made quite a bit so far," he of course would take a brief moment to count up what they'd earned before looking back at the Raven, "Did you see anyone?" he of course enquired as he planned to share his earnings with someone who needed it more,

"...Wasn't Looking." Clearly too intent on filling her belly, Branwen hadn't thought to look around for the needy and instead continued on towards the vendor before returning.

"Guess we'll hafta wander around then," he had expected no less and merely rolled his eyes at the bird before taking another bite of his roll.

The pair would sit and 'people-watch' for a little longer until the crowds started to disperse, then, gathering up his things, Rick put his earnings away, ready to pass onto the needy later on before making his way back towards the Academy

Catherine looked over at the ginger boy once more while her and Gin returned to scout the Markets, for a brief time curious as she witnessed some sort of bird land beside the male. It looked pretty... In a way Catherine wondered how it would feel to fly around freely. A shame she can't turn into a bird or something, that would be fun...

After a couple more stops the pair had reached a selection of clothing vendors... This was where Rin couldn't resist herself as she started to look through and feel each and every piece of attire. Short dresses, pants, shorts, long-sleeved tops, blouses... So many fabrics and designs. "W-whoa... I don't even think half of these would exist back... Home..." Her voice trailed off, recalling something to take into account while her looked. Even thought Rin felt uncomfortable about it, the girl ended up picking out a small selection of clothes to tide her over, trying to avoid getting carried away however.

By the end Rin had went with two outfits that stood out to her. The first was a blue/grey top, colours seperate by a line of white. With it she would include a pair of white shorts and a white scarf for colder days... Finished off with black thigh-high heels.
The second outfit consisted of a long blue sweater with some black shorts underneath. Finishing it was a neat pair of blue boots that went with the overall colour scheme.

Getting ready to leave with the clothes acquired, Rin stumbled onto a final outfit... Although as much as she would've liked to admit wanting it, she attempted to shrug it off to her brother, insisting she was looking elsewhere before waiting nearby for Gin to catch up.

Whenever the pair was finished Rin would utter a simple "Thank you, Gin..." She still felt funny about him getting the clothes, but settled with appreciating his actions. It appeared the Markets were growing empty as the days end drew closer, it was then obvious it was time for Catherine and her brother to head home.

Entef would chirp as he hopped from her head to the table nearby her. He pecked the table once as the girl watched with her interested eyes. "Are you hungry?" She teased her companion with a faint smile on her face. He was always so adorable when he was hungry. Something about the way that animals got when trying to communicate was just so fascinating to her. Maybe she was a bird in another life, or just somebody who understood such things. She carefully lowered her finger so he could hop aboard and raised it to the sky. The merlin took off in no time and began to fly around their immediate surroundings. He was getting much to big for seed only and eventually he would be able to catch full pretty by himself. From what her contact back in Bahtavan had told her, insects would do fine from now. Ishitari watched as Entef tuckered himself out by catching some that were flying from above. Her stomach began to growl again, that breakfast from before not entirely filling her. Maybe Evelyn had more bread for sale? It was worth a shot. She called her Entef who glided back down to perch on her as Ishitari began her long walk towards the bakery.

    Aldaine De’Fraye

    – Aldaine rises to a new day-

Aldaine was posted in the city market for the day. And so far, it was proving very uneventful. Technically, it was the shifter's dqay off, but he tought it couldn't hurt spending a few hours in the market district, after all, he hadn't patrolled there since last week, so he may as well make up for that now. He’d spent the last 3 hours patrolling the area and surrounding perimeter, checking ever back alley, every nook and cranny for signs of trouble, and so far, the only thing he found of any sort of interest was a rat nibbling away on some mouldy cheese. Ugh… guard duty at the academy was more entertaining than this. Even though nothing actually happened, he was able to hold a conversation with Cyrus, as well as admire the architecture and the lovely scenery around the academy. But here in the market place, where you have to constantly shove your way past people, being forced to overhear the tiring, obnoxious, horrifically ill-trained merchants attempting to sell their goods. And one needn’t dare get Aldaine started on the beggars, who were so obviously faking their conditions. Oh yes, there were those who were in genuine need of help, but others, oh how one could see straight through the act, it was so badly composed. And besides, while at the academy, Aldaine had to admit, there were some lovely female professors to admire, another advantage the academic structure had over the market place. If one observed the alleyways every carefully, they would spot the occasional prostitute, flaunting their bodies for all to see. In was another sight that turned he Jaguar’s stomach. What sad existence to be reduced too…

Well, Aldaine arrived here at 11:15am, and is to stay there until 1:30pm. The jaguar could never say no to wrapping up early, and besides, he didn't want to spent the entirity of the day just patrolling the market. It wouldn’t be too long until his shift was over. He’d spotted an interesting book store on his patrols, “The Grizzly Cat Stories”, that was the name wasn’t it? Perhaps he’d pay a visit after work, goodness knows he could go for a good horror novel…

Jace had awoken early that morning, as was custom for him. Though he did not start as cheery as usual. The matter he had attended to the day prior still had an aspect of it that he was unable to resolve and thus found himself in the familiar market of the town to finish his obligations. He had a letter he needed to deliver personally to an associate of his parents, and another for the person in question to send to them in his stead. Yes, there was an alternate method to sending messages and more official sources, but this was how he was told to proceed in this endeavor. His parents had been very specific about it, as they feared in any of the usual methods the letter may be intercepted and read. While his own letter to them hardly contained much of worth, his parents wanted to ensure nothing could be used against them ahead of time. And so he found himself in the dreaded market streets yet again. He disliked this part of the island immensely. Yes, it had a plethora of people with which he could chose to interact with but many failed to recognize his status. And further, those who were alerted of it seemed to care even less if such a thing were possible. He was treated as an ordinary peasant among the masses, and experienced the rudeness of a people hurrying from place to place with little regard for anyone else. He found it all detestful and infuriating, but he could do nothing about it. 'Once this letter is delivered I shall be able to leave this cursed area and back to the civilized world.' He thought to himself, his only solace in this endeavor. Currently near the center of the market, he was looking for the specific place he was told of.

OOC: Short, but wanted to get this interaction started
