"He's got guts. I'll give him that." he said as he watched William continue on despite his injuries. The other fight had ended with one yielding so the winner was going to join in with the other two. Hiro stood up and began to stretch. He had been sitting for some time now and felt a little stiff. Stretching his legs and arms while performing lunges, he could feel his blood rushing back and felt a little more livelier. "So do you guys train like this every day?" he asked while he cracked his knuckles and neck.

After he was done stretching he then asked if it would be ok for him to train on one of the training dummies.

Will saw what Drustwn was about to attempt and made to withdraw his blade back the way it came. Unfortunately the sudden cessation of momentum, and his attempt to reverse it, caused William's ribs to explode with a searing pain. Instead of withdrawing his blade he stumbled and went down on one knee. His right hand went down to the ground, still holding his sword, to hold himself up with his fist while his left hand went against his bruised, and possibly cracked, ribs.
Crap... Will thought and knew that he was helpless against his senior adversary.

Yazira came running in at the two remaining combatants just in time to see William fall to one knee. She stopped several paces back to watch how Drustwn would proceed.

Drustwn saw William reverse his thrust in anticipation of his attack...and suddenly drop to his knee, holding his side that Drustwn had kicked. Drustwn dropped the dagger he was holding had tossed his katana into his left hand before kicking William's blade out of his grasp and into the air. It gleamed and flashed as the blade caught the sun before Drustwn snatched it out of the air and slipped the blade down and under William's chin, against his throat.
"Well fought, lad, but you are beaten," Drustwn glanced over at Yazira as she came to a halt from her run and noticed her two scimitars. This one was not going to be easy... "I know you are technically dead now, but I'll ask anyway. Mind if I borrow this?" he tapped William's chin with his katana.

"Hmph." Will snorted through the pain. A grin cracked his face as he looked straight up the blade of his own sword into the eyes of the older Hunter. "If you think you can handle it, old man."
Will staggered to his feet and walked straight back behind Drustwn to the edge of the ring. From there he painfully climbed down and walked around to where Mathias and TJ were sitting with a man he had never seen before.

Yazira watched as Drustwn disarmed William and claimed victory over the injured Hunter. She noted that William allowed him to keep his sword as he walked clear of the ring. She could feel the energy inside her that she had gained from TJ's blood diminishing already and stood in place for another couple of moments until it faded entirely. She wanted to truly test herself against this man, and didn't want any special tricks interfering in their fight.
Yazira held her scimitars down on either side of her waist, with the blades angled up, and began walking slowly forward towards her opponent.

Hiro went off to the training dummy to get his blood flowing after sitting for so long. As interesting as the fight was, his body was growing restless and needed to release some pent up energy. Performing a few basic striking techniques on the dummy both with the staff and unarmed he began to make several blunt dents over the areas where blades had previously hit. A few of the onlookers were surprised to see that a simple staff could produce such damage. When Hiro began to strike with his fists and feet, they began to cringe and wonder if this man even felt pain. Hiro knew that these kinds of pain could be subsided and ignored to a degree through training. One could not wipe out the pain entirely but pain tolerance could be developed.

Once he had finished his exercises, he returned to the spectator areas and saw that the young man with the katana was walking toward them, but without his weapon. Looking up, he noticed that the elder warrior now held it. He nodded in greeting to the warrior who joined them as he watched the final fight.

Drustwn watched the woman as she approached. He had stolen a few glances towards her engagements during his own bouts, and knew this girl was no push over. He resisted the urge to work his left arm as the stab wound there pulsed slightly. He'd just have to make the best of it. He raised William's katana up in a silent salute before taking a stance, again the left hand blade held out laterally, the other held up near his head and pointing the blade forward towards his opponent. He began advancing as well, his steps sinuous and fluid, almost like a dancer as he rolled his hips and body to maintain his stance while moving.

Mathias moved over to make room for William as he approached," Sorry you lost, Will. I thought you had him for sure. You did really well, though, Better than me anyway," he added with a sheepish grin.

"Nah, Yazira's really good. You just had the misfortune to go up against her first. And as long as we learn from our losses, then we're all winners. Anyway, we should watch this. I'm sure it's gonna be good." Will said.

Yazira continued her slow approach and once she came within a step or two of combat range she darted forward the lest bit of distance. As she did she crossed her scimitars at her waist and brought them up in opposite angled slashes. One from down on the left up to the right and the other from down on the right to up on the left.

Drustwn stepped forward to meet Yazira's attack. She was more than competent, but apparently showy. Sometimes the simplest manuevers would get the job done.
He stepped forward and brought both katana's down on either side to catch Yazira's rising blades. This left his middle open, which he used to his advantage by kicking straight up and at her face, puncuating the move with a snarling battle cry.

Yazira saw the blades descend upon her own, blocking her strike. And then saw the boot come shooting up at her face. Yazira tilted her head sharply to one side to avoid the incoming foot. Then she stepped forward, hoping to pin Drustwn's leg against her shoulder and throw his off balance.

Drustwn knew this manuever, and had hoped she wouldn't think of it. He hadn't wanted to counter her move as it would leave him exposed a moment, but it was better than falling uncontrolled. He let her catch his leg on her shoulder and abruptly dropped down into a backwards roll. This was the part that made him nervous. He was exposed for a short moment, but that might be enough...

"Do you guys always train this intensely? You don't save some for the spirits?" Hiro laughed as they continued the battle royal. This didn't really seem like training. Rather more like a tournament of sorts since the fighting has been going nonstop for quite some time. When he arrived they had already started so he wasn't sure exactly how long these fights had already had been.

He stretched his arms over his head and let out a yawn. "How often are you guys sent out?" he inquired.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 29, 2012 7:36 pm

"Most of us spend at least part of almost every day training." William said. "A lot of us have specific reasons for being here, and we don't intend to sit around idly when we could be improving the skills that we use to protect people from fiends.
"As for missions we're normally out about once a week, maybe a little less to account for a couple days between arriving home and heading out again."

"I see," he replied nodding his head. "Have you guys been on many missions as of late?" he inquired. He was rather curious of how much experience these soldiers actually obtained during their stay here. He was of course probably the newest member for now, but that would be past really soon.

He paused for a while and continued to observe the fight. "So are new members allowed to go on these missions or is there some sort of orientation that I have to go through before I being?" he asked.

"Mathias, my other partner Kiro, and myself all just returned yesterday. We got called in to handle some mysterious disappearances. Turned out they were being cause by a statue fiend and also by some sort of gelatinous tentacle monster fiend." Willa said. "And yes, new members are allowed to go out as well. The general rule is that you must be in a team of at least three, including at least one Guardian. I'm sure that the higher-ups will eventually assign you to a team, otherwise you can simply select backlogged missions from the archive and put together a team yourself."

Yazira watched as Drustwn rolled back and away from her. There was a brief moment when his back was open, but she passed on the opportunity. This was a practice match after all, and where was the fun in winning with such a cheap strike. Yazira simply raised her blades to waist height and prepared herself once more. She knew now that she would have to be much more careful with this particular foe, and thought that he would likely be doing the same now also.

Drustwn came back to his feet to find Yazira waiting for him, her blades held ready. He was relieved that she hadn't taken advantage of his moment of helplessness, but was a little disappointed as well. Practice bout or not, one should treat any battle as they would out in the field. Get too used to pulling your punches and you might do it at the wrong moment by habit.
Drustwn settled himself and saluted Yazira for her generous, if mistaken, gesture before readying his blades once more. He paused only a moment before suddenly attacking. Drustwn jumped forward and into the air, reversing his grips to come down upon Yazira in a double stab. She was tricky, and probably expected him to be tricky as well. Let's see what straight forward brute attacks would accomplish...
