Soren NorwoodCurrent Outfit: Casual ████████████████████████████████ Soren had been exploring town a little bit. With the day still young, the bookstore was one of his first visits.
To him, the town was pretty cozy and much safer than his hometown he had lived in a few years prior.
After living here awhile, he knew the Soleil like the back of his hand.
Although he saw things in a different perspective now that he was all on his own.
He entered, and started to take a look around.
They had a decent selection of books.
As he browsed the store, he remembered the real reason why he was here- To get a job.
Without much money, Soren would need something to maintain the life his parents worked so hard for him to get.
With that in mind, He walked towards the counter to find someone that worked there.
"Hello." He greeted. "I'm Soren. I was wondering if you guys had any openings." He added, giving the worker his name.

Work days for Benjamin were slow; today's not quite different from the rest since the weather was rainy, though there was someone dropping by, looking around and then asking for any worker who was present to help him out. Immediately, the half-demon approached the stranger who was aking for a job; the sales associate was just done checking in the inventory, with still no delivery coming by because of the current weather, and he was inspecting the looks of the stranger with newfound casual curiosity. "So, you want a job here? We do have the manager and cashier positions available for now, and you need to fulfill the conditions in order to get hired. I believe that... job applications can also be done online for further convenience." Of course, the website has the conditions that the applicants had to possess for submission, all before the interview would come next. Ben had been in that position before when he applied to become a sales associate.

Soren nodded, the process seemed pretty legit.
He figured with the weather becoming a bit sour, he would stay a moment and wait for a break in the rain.
"Of course." He replied, raising a brow at the fact that the place didn't have a manager.
He shrugged this off. Besides, Soren was thinking of something a bit simpler to try first to get some experience before jumping into a leadership position.
"Interesting, I'll definitely consider filling an application out."

Hearing that the newcomer was definitely interested for the job application was something to breach the boring routine of today's work. "Can you wait here for a bit? Will send you the form shortly," Benjamin spoke before heading away to the back of the store, only to emerge a few minutes later with the application form in hand. "Here's the form, though you need to have an ID-sized picture as a few other documents alongside the cover letter showing us the reason on why we must hire you for the desired job. Most establishments here in Soleil have limited slots for jobs, hence some managers tend to picky in choosing employees. But one thing is for sure; you must have the persistence and diligence."
He had spoken a bit too much apart from what was the basic description of job application, but perhaps, the male would get the basic gist of what was like to be working as an employee since the stranger may be a newcomer to the city.

"That's alright. It's a bit rainy out anyways, so I don't mind the wait." Soren responded,
waiting a few moments for the worker to come back with the application.
"Thanks. I understand." Soren answered before beginning to fill the application.
As he filled it, he figured he should get to know a possible future co-worker.
"Y'know, I don't think I ever caught your name."

The half-demon accepted the application form once it was filled up and ready for inspection and he took a short glance at the paper before focusing his attention to the male. The introduction had to start, after all, since they may end up as possible co-workers in the future. "Call me Benjamin, mister. I'll send this to the owner of this establishment," he spoke as he left so that the application would be inspected further. It actually took a short while before the blond emerged back, sending in the list of further requirements which can also be sent via e-mail to the newcomer, index finger pointing to the e-mail address. "Best to start the next step early if you want to get hired. In case you may end up being my co-worker, it will be a pleasure."
After all, it had been a while since Bookworm's was inquired about a job application anyway. It was a shame that the female who was once the manager had to leave and the spot was still empty, but Ben was glad to accept the potential new assistance, nonetheless.

This was a nice place to relax. Lottie was wandering casually throughout Bookworm's, brushing her fingers along the edges of the books that stuck out from the shelves. Now that she had finished setting up her house, she could relax a little bit more and start looking around for places to hang out and for a hopeful job. Maybe Lottie could get a new friend or two but for now, she would rather get settled and make sure she has money to get onto the social scene. She would occasionally stop and randomly choose a book to skim through, then deciding whether or not her selection was interesting enough to keep. However, she would admit that she kept on floating back to the romance section, cheesy stuff like that really was her guilty pleasure. There was a book on photography and another about a fantasy adventure in the little basket she was carrying as she perused the romance aisle, looking for something that didn't look too cliche to read. But her task seemed a little impossible, as a lot of teen fiction was about vampires or werewolves, and other romance novels were just for older women. Goodness, why in the world does she even like this kind of stuff?

Dare had finally sold the last of Fayre's things, leaving minimal reminders of his friend's existence. All that he'd kept were some pictures of the two of them together, a stuffed animal and his Pomeranian Mine. As long as he stayed away from the spare room in his home, he should be fine. As long as he didn't go near the site of Fayre's death, he could manage the grief and the guilt. Today, the giant had left the dogs at home so he could go shopping. He needed to buy groceries, some new clothes and books. He'd already read through the collection they'd brought with them to Soleil. It wasn't that he read often, he didn't, but occasionally he'd find himself in the mood to read and would find it impossible to put a good book down until he had completed it. And that was a very good reason to stay away from books that were part of a series or trilogy. Upon entering the local bookstore, he'd had to duck in order to walk through the doorway without beheading himself. Luckily he was used to being the odd man out. He was even able to ignore the quizzical stares sent his way from other patrons of the establishment. Not that there were very many. Dare naturally gravitated towards the taller shelves, ones close to his level of sight. It took him a while to find the section that held his preferred genre of books. He liked biographies, mysteries and romance novels, though he was always open to reading books from other genres. He picked out a few individual murder mysteries and was just moving into the romance section when he spotted a familiar figure. It was the photographer girl from the other day! The one who had witnessed his dogs getting the best of him at the beach. He only recognised her because her hair was of an interesting shade, and she had nice curves. Well, that and he never forgot a face.
"Hey there. What are you reading?"
He asked curiously, offering her a smile. He was always a rather friendly person unless met with hostility, then his friendly manner faded. Hopefully he didn't scare her away with his large size, though she hadn't seemed too bothered by it last time.. Then again, he had been lying down through most of their meeting. He held up his books so show her in turn what he was going to buy.
"I'm Dare, by the way. Dare Callahan."

How come so many romance books are centered around the mysterious bad boy? Normal guys are okay, too! Not that she would know, considering she's never really dated anyone. But still! The love interest is so edgy and cringy in a lot of these novels! Lottie was still flipping through what she deemed a mediocre book, that she didn't notice the rather large person that was approaching her. When she suddenly heard a voice so close to her, she quickly closed the book in her hands, as if she had been caught reading something weird. She was just startled! However, her face flushed for reacting in such a way, embarrassment very evident on her face. "J-just some dumb romance book!" Lottie said while laughing nervously. Jeez, she is way too much of a scaredy-cat and socially awkward in general to be out in public.
She put the book back on the shelf, sighing to herself for being so frightened despite this guy being calm and friendly. When she actually gave the large man a good look, she blinked a little bit in surprise. "Aren't you the guy with the dogs I saw on the beach the other day?" She inquired, now having calmed down a bit. She looked at the books he had picked up, Lottie never would have thought of him as a book kind of guy, he seems like such a rough person! Well, she guesses that's why people shouldn't judge a book by it's cover!
Was that a book pun?
She picked up the two books in her basket, holding them up a little below her mouth, "My name's Lottie... Blakeslee." Anyone could tell that she really wasn't good at conversation, her shyness rolling off of her in waves.

Dare seemed amused by the girl's almost guilty reaction to his unprecedented arrival. She had snapped her book closed as if she'd been reading something inappropriate. How cute. He took note of the title so he could glance through it at a later stage just to see what exactly had made her react in such a way. It didn't occur to him that she could have just done so out of shock of no longer finding herself alone. He gave her a charming smile and nodded. It seemed rather obvious that her book would have belonged to the romance genre, since they were currently located in that very section. She seemed like a rather awkward little person. Not that he minded. He found that an endearing quality in some. Fayre had been like that a little, too, in the past.
"Just some dumb romance book, huh? Sounds interesting!"
He was going to try his best to get her used to talking with him, so she wouldn't have to feel embarrassed by her rather awkward responses. He was in a good mood, so he wouldn't mind making a friend out of this little photographer. Not that she seemed smaller than average.. She was just tiny compared to his large size. Not as small as Vixen was, though. The thought of his foxy friend brought another soft smile to his lips. He hadn't seen her in a while. Not since.. He wisely chose to change the subject of his thoughts. He did not need to be reminded of their last encounter. It had been needlessly embarrassing for them both. He rubbed the back of his head, resisting the urge he had to lean against the bookcase for fear of knocking it over. The woman returned the "dumb romance book" to its place on the shelf before her and he did the same with his chosen book, remembering that he'd read it before. When he returned his gaze to his current companion, he found her looking up at him with surprise in her eyes. Her sudden response made him laugh, the rich sound seemingly filling the room.
"Yeah, that was me. And you were the photographer, right? I hope you didn't get a picture of them sitting on me. That'd be embarrassing."
Despite his words, he wouldn't seem to be bothered either way. He was too easygoing to make a big deal out of being caught in an embarrassing situation, such as having his pups knock him over and sit on him. He looked down at her exposed novels and nodded his head in approval. Those were good choices. Turning back to the shelf, he picked out another book, one that he'd read in the past, and offered it to her. It as Cover of Night, the main female lead was a widow with two four year old sons, and the male was an awkward handyman who blushed at the mere sight of the mother. He'd liked it well enough.
"You should try this one. It's a pretty good read, thought it's not full fledged romance. It has some mystery and suspense mixed in. But it's not as typical as others in this genre."
He picked out another one for himself and again, resisted the urge to pat her head or something. She reminded him of Mine, his Pomeranian. Though he couldn't fathom why. Maybe it was just her perceived fluffball nature?
"Lottie? That's a cute name. Not as cute as you, though."
Dare winked at the girl, hoping she wouldn't freak out at the thought of a stranger flirting with her. It had honestly just slipped out, not that he minded. He was fine with flirting occasionally.
