Both Kiro and Enyo left pub and exited back onto the busy streets. Kiro's eyes scanned every single person he walked past as well as kept an eye on the roof tops and windows. He didn't want to leave anything to chance if they were being followed or to come under attack. Kiro knew he had to return tomorrow for the information he requested so their first order of business was a safe place to stay the night. Enyo clung close to Kiro despite her usual behaviors; she was definitely not used to these surroundings and was relying much on Kiro's instruction.

Kiro led the way to the quiet side of town and found an average sized inn. Enyo didn't bother to look at what it was called, but she agreed that this was probably the safest location for the both of them. Kiro handed Enyo some money.

"Take this. Take the room across from mine." Kiro instructed Enyo and then went inside ahead of her. Enyo nodded.

Kiro quickly paid for his room and was already headed upstairs when Enyo entered the inn. Enyo did as Kiro instructed and bought the room across from his. She went upstairs and began situating herself. Kiro then opened her door without knocking and shut it behind him.

Enyo looked up with a confused expression on her face. "What are you doing?" She asked.

"I'm staying in your room." He answered quickly and took a seat on the floor against the wall.

"Why?" Enyo questioned, though she guessed she already somewhat knew the answer.

"In instance the information request we sent out is caught and Axis somehow finds us here, the inn keeper will inform them which room I am in." Kiro explained. "And when they go in for me, we will know about it." He added.

"I see..." Enyo trailed off. "Are you going to sleep like that?" She asked curiously.

Kiro looked up at Enyo who was on the bed. "Sleep? Not tonight." Kiro answered. "Not until we are out of this city..." Kiro also added in a quieter tone.

Enyo sighed and lay back on the bed with her limbs outstretched comfortably. "Can I ask one more question?" She questioned precariously.

"Go ahead..." Kiro replied.

"You intended this to be a death mission, didn't you?" Enyo pried.

Kiro was silent for a long half minute. "This is something that had to be checked into. And if it is true, then it must be dealt with. I know what Axis is capable of... And to answer your question, yes. If I go in there by myself, I will die. But it is a sacrifice worth making to stop these experiments and projects from advancing."

In Kiro's last words, the bed's blanket was thrown over him. Kiro swiped his left arm at it to knock it away and in that moment, to Kiro's surprise he noticed Enyo was directly in front of him with her arms wrapping around him in an embrace.

"You're an idiot!" Enyo shouted, scolding Kiro to an extent. By the sound of her voice Kiro knew she was about to cry. "You don't always have to sacrifice yourself for everything! You left Axis! It was a long time ago and now you're with us! It isn't your problem anymore and if your past come back to you, you will have us by your side!" Enyo cried as she held Kiro tighter.

Kiro was wide eyed and completely taken aback by Enyo's words. Kiro finally let go his grasp on his katana and wrapped his arms around Enyo as well. "I'm sorry." Were the only words Kiro could manage.

Several hours went by with both Enyo and Kiro sitting on the floor against the back wall facing the door. The bed's blanket was wrapped around them both while Enyo slept propped up against Kiro's shoulder. Kiro stared hazily at the floor, then to Enyo's sleeping face and then to the door across the room. Perhaps the request was a success? It would be a huge advantage for me- no, for us if we got that information without Axis knowing about it. Kiro thought intently.

Another half hour passed, it was now pitch black outside. It was also cloudy out so the only light in the sky was a blurry crescent moon. Suddenly Kiro felt a shift in mood, an overwhelming intent to kill. He listened, but heard no footsteps outside the doorway even on the creaky wood flooring. Did they figure out where I am? Kiro thought quickly of all the possibilities. Kiro nudged Enyo a few times to wake her up. She straightened up her posture and rubbed her eyes.

“What’s wrong?” Enyo asked quietly, looking at Kiro who appeared very serious.

Kiro didn’t reply, though Enyo’s question was answered with a loud cracking sound. Kiro heard it coming and leapt from his spot next to Enyo and across the room towards the door, grabbing Enyo along with him while slender metal spikes shot up from the floor and into the ceiling. This process of attacks continued coming at Kiro until he got pressed up against the door. Once against the door, Kiro heard the sound of a familiar crackling and then jumped forward and pushed Enyo away onto the bed. The wooden door Kiro was just up against broke apart into millions of little charred slivers by a fist, which was covered in red fingerless gloves.

When Kiro jumped forward, more metal spikes that shot straight up from where he was going to land attacked him again. In order to hastily avoid these sharp impaling objects, Kiro drew his right katana and stuck it into the wall beside him and then jerked his wrist as hard and fast as he could to flip his body up further and forward over and past the oncoming spikes. Kiro then withdrew his katana from the wall in the same instance as his landing while drawing his other katana and taking up a defensive dance with both swords as the figure in the doorway entered. Enyo stood up and joined Kiro, not yet revealing her ability, but she did draw her daggers.

“My, my, my… Little KAX9 managed to survive the surprise attack.” A cocky female voice spoke.

A woman stood in front of them with his hands on her hips. She wore leather boots with many straps in the front; her legs were covered in black skintight leggings. She had a short red skirt on over the leggings and a tight red and black blouse. Her face was pretty, but fierce and her hair was straight and jet-black. Small random streaks of electricity could be seen being emitted by her body as she glared at Kiro as if she knew him.

A larger metal spike shot up from the wood flooring and then spiked out in several directions of the ceiling. There was then a huge crash with pieces of wood flooring splitting off everywhere. A figure had emerged from the floor using the metal spike as some kind of rope or pulley. Once the figure emerged he stood next to the female.

The man had bright red hair that was long and straight, which partially covered his face. The man was tan, extremely well built and towered above the girl next to him at about six feet and six inches. He was wearing nothing on his chest, but he had on shoulder pads and arm and wrist guards. His lower half he wore loose black pants with black shoes. The man was grinning madly as he eyed Kiro and Enyo.

“And look, he has a friend with him.” The woman commented.

Kiro’s head leaned in toward Enyo. “Enyo, don’t use your ability, just stay by me.” Kiro whispered, but in a commanding voice. Enyo didn’t seem to quite understand why he was telling her that though.

“Oh, poor Kiro. You don’t remember me?” The woman asked, though apparently just to antagonize Kiro.

“I remember you Liora…” Kiro replied very simply.

“So you do know her.” Enyo commented. “Is she strong?” She asked quickly.

“Extremely. She is LAX9, meaning she is the ninth of the Electrophorus Homo Sapien series, also meaning she is the same level into her series as I am.” Kiro replied swiftly. “I don’t know the other one, but I assume just as powerful.”

Liora smiled wide at Kiro’s words. “Oh, you flatter me, Kiro.” Liora replied.

“KAX9, you sure have quite the reputation. But I don’t see it.” The man judged Kiro harshly, his grin disappearing.

Kiro didn’t let their words faze him. He knew that if you lose your composure and become provoked would mean his death. Kiro looked down at the man’s waist and saw he had an odd shaped dagger that curved all the way around towards the handle and on his other side of his waist he had a sheathed broadsword. He hasn’t even drawn his weapons… And what were those attacks earlier by him? Is there a third person or was that his ability? He could possibly be Sira’s tenth installment of her series. Their abilities were the same…Kiro thought as he began trying to piece together as much information about his opponents as possible.

The silence was finally broken by the man’s deep voice. “Liora, kill them both.” He ordered and instantly Liora sprang into action and charged at Kiro and Enyo with a massive surge of lightning shooting forward.

Kiro was about to attack when Enyo dashed in front of him shouting, “I’ll take care of her! You can’t defend against that electricity.” Her Ryus become extracted from his back and sprang forth to block against Liora’s electric attack. The electricity seemed to have little or no effect on Enyo’s Ryus so she decided to commence a counter attack. Enyo sprint forward and extended her Ryus forward to their maximum length of two meters towards Liora, their ferocious jaws ready to rip flesh from bone.

Liora was completely surprised by Enyo’s ability and counter attack so she created a giant surge of energy around herself in the form of a shield, which managed to block Enyo’s Ryus, but only for a short amount of time before they ‘chewed’ through the shield. Liora’s eyes widen in desperation before the man behind her suddenly stepped into the fray. The man grabbed and clutched both of Enyo’s Ryus in his hands; their jaws continuously attempting to chomp his face, but to no avail.

“You have a very interesting ability there. It will be a very nice gift for when we return.” The man complimented as he examined Enyo’s Ryus.

“How is he able to grab them?!” Enyo exclaimed.

“I said not to use your ability!” Kiro scolded Enyo in the midst of the battle.

“I don’t think you realize the situation you’re in.” The man stated boldly. He then clutched his fists down on Enyo’s Ryus, causing them to disperse into nothing the moment their heads were destroyed.

Enyo and Kiro both were completely dumbfounded by this. He broke them with his bare hands!? They both thought at the same time.

“Enyo, get back!” Kiro ordered before stepping in front of her. “He must have some other kind of ability.”

“Like I said, you don’t realize the situation you are in. “ The man repeated himself. “I am from the Porifera Receptor series. My name is Ajax, in other words, AAX10. You know what that means, don’t you?” Ajax introduced himself and questioned Kiro at the same time.

AAX10?! Kiro thought, his mind trying to process the information and figure what they should do next. “Enyo! We need to get out of here, now!” Kiro announced as he turned to her.

A look of terror was on Enyo’s face. She had never seen Kiro so worried in her life. Before either of them could react, Ajax outstretched his left arm and extended six sharp metal wires such as Sira once did. Each wire was aimed at a vital spot on both Kiro and Enyo. All six just barely managed to miss them, but left minor cuts on their arms and legs. Soon after, Ajax clutched his right fist and his whole arm flexed. In that moment he smashed what was left of the wood flooring, splitting the floor in half that caused Kiro and Enyo to fall to the first floor.

Kiro collected himself. He looked around, but couldn’t see much because there was so much dust and junk in the air from the floor splitting. Suddenly he noticed a flash of fists coming at him, dodging backgrounds just in time as Liora threw punch after punch of fists encompassed by electricity.

Enyo then emerged from the dust filled air and tackled Liora against the wall as well as managing to stab her in the right shoulder before being nailed in the face with a fist full of electricity which shocked her entire body as well as sent her flying several feet from the force. Enyo fell back onto the floor unconscious.

More metal wires showered down on Kiro, the sharp ends stabbing into the floor and ripping apart entire foundation of the building as Kiro tried as hard as he could to read the attacks and dodge in the midst of the smoky, dusty, room. Just when Kiro got a chance to think, Liora instantly began the assault. She shot a sting of lightning at Kiro, which jumped upwards onto a table to avoid, only to run into another strike from Ajax who had jumped down and sprinted at Kiro with his massive broadsword at a speed even he could not read.

The huge blade took both of Kiro’s katanas crossed together in order to block completely. The weight of Ajax along with his sword strike blocked by Kiro caused the table he stood on to break and collapse into broken pieces of wood and splinters.

How can he be so fast and so strong and have the same ability as Sira? Kiro thought to himself as he continuously became under a flurry of attacks. Kiro saw a broken window to his back and took the chance to get outside. Ajax quickly followed him, though smashing through the window and wall completely instead. Before Kiro could realize it, he was locked in swords again with Ajax, needing most of his swords again to block or parry each attack while still becoming pushed back by his massive strength.

Kiro looked back at the hole where the window used to be to see Liora holding Enyo over her shoulder. s**t! Kiro thought as he again became pressed by Ajax, but this time being thrown back by a surge of electricity from his own blades. What!? Kiro thought as he still had his eyes on Liora who hadn’t moved.

“I see you’re starting to realize.” Ajax commended Kiro as he attack Kiro now with his broadsword one handed and drawing his strangely shaped dagger with his free hand. The moment Kiro’s eyes moved from Liora to Ajax, Ajax was gone. Kiro became wide eyed the moment he felt something cold in his side. He looked down to see Ajax’s large broadsword piercing through him.

Pain overwhelmed Kiro, but he remained standing and didn’t scream out. Kiro winced and coughed up some blood as he started breathing very heavily.

“This is the end.” Ajax spoke deeply as he stood behind Kiro, his sword still impaled in his side. “You did well to survive KAX9, but you’re out of your league here. I’m too fast for your eyes to focus on so you can’t use your Kyto on me. Its over.”

Kiro’s vision was fading, his arms were doing numb and he didn’t know for how long he could keep a hold on his swords. They have Enyo… I’m stabbed… I will die if I try to retrieve her. I wouldn’t be able to escape with her neither. Thought to himself. The moment began to slow down for him as he thought. What can I do? Kiro kept thinking to himself over and over. Ajax is right; I can’t use Kyto on him. Plus he is to my back. There isn’t anything I can do to him.

Kiro then looked up to Liora who was holding Enyo. “Enyo…” Kiro spoke softly before coughing again and spitting out some more blood.

“Enyo? Is that the girl’s name?” Ajax asked. “Well, it doesn’t matter what her name is. We will be bringing her back with us, and creating a series for her unique ability. As our little experiment.” Ajax said provokingly to enrage Kiro.

In that moment where Kiro heard that, he did indeed become enraged. He didn’t yell or move, but Kiro’s fear, hate, and anger built up inside him as he glared up at Liora. Kiro stared into her eyes as something unexpected happened to Kiro. Kiro’s pupils began to shift and morph as well as the color of his eyes. His pupils became the shape of a four-point star with a space in the middle along with a ring around the star points. The hue of the eye had changed from their normal gray blue to a dark purple.

In the moment Liora and Kiro made eye contact, Liora cried out loud, “Ajax!!! Look out!” From Liora’s point of view it looked as if there were another Kiro with both katanas in hand directly behind Ajax and was about to sever his head clean off. Ajax reacted to Liora’s worried call and maneuvered away from Kiro, removing his sword him his side and looking over his shoulder at the same time at whatever it was Liora was looking at. To Ajax’s surprise there was nothing, nor anyone behind him. He then looked back to Kiro I front of him to see Kiro gone and Liora on her knees, though still holding Enyo over her shoulder.

“What was that about Liora!? Where did he go?” Ajax questioned Liora angrily as he approached her.

Liora gasped and looked up at Ajax. “There looked like someone was behind you and about to cut your head clean off! Then when you dodged, he disappeared and Kiro sprinted at me with his Kyto so I couldn’t move…” Liora attempted to explain.

“So he got away?” Ajax questioned one last time.

“Yes, sir.” Liora replied as she tried very hard to continue holding Enyo who usually weighs a little less than one hundred pounds.

“Kax9… No. Kiro, eh?” Ajax said to himself.

Yazira did not hesitate and simply darted away. She saw TJ standing off to one side of Will and Drustwn as they battled back and forth. Yazira angled around the two men and aimed to initiate combat with the other woman.
TJ saw Yazira coming and readied her sword and shield.
Crap...
TJ ran her thumb talon across the index finger of her left hand and raised her shield far enough that she could lick up the welling blood. She felt her entire body begin to feel suffused with tingling energy.
Yazira darted into melee range and swung her left hand scimitar in a lazy crossbody slash that she hoped TJ would attempt to deflect with her shield. An instant later she felt gratified as she had apparently accurately predicted her opponents response.
TJ lifted her shield to catch and deflect the slash, but realized her mistake as she now had her left hand raised and her shield in the way of her sword, while Yazira's right scimitar now had an open path to her left ribs. And that scimitar darted in to take advantage of that opening.
TJ allowed herself a small smile as she quickly shifted her feet and spun her body around 180 degrees. Her sword hand pushed out to her right, which a second ago had been her left, catching the incoming blade and pushing it out wide and away from her.
Yazira's left scimitar was still out where he shield had deflected it to, leaving the woman open. Unfortunately TJ was now facing the wrong way to attack. So she simple stepped back and slammed her body up against Yazira's. She used the impact to throw herself forwards again, landing in a roll and rising to her feet while spinning around to face her opponent once more.
Yazira stood there with a wide eyed expression one her face, obviously stunned by the speed with which TJ had reacted to her attacks. The twin scimitar wielding steadied herself, her face becoming steely and determined, and waded back into melee range, her swords low and close.

Will stepped forward with an over the shoulder right to left slash, thinking that Drustwn would try to counter with his new dagger and then counterattack with his own sword. He retracted the blade almost as soon as he had begun the move and dropped to one knee, spinning entirely back the other way and bringing his sword around in a powerful left to right sweeping slash.

Drustwn had stepped forward to meet William's attack, but tensed when he suddenly changed direction and spun low, sword sweeping at a lower angle. Drustwn quickly leapt into the air, his body turning upside down with his head as the focal point. As William's blade passed beneath him, Drustwn struck out with his katana at the boy for the instant he had before needing to turn his body downward to land on his feet.

Mathias sheathed his sword and went to gather his shield. He wasn't sad he was eliminated, but he was sorry to be the first one out. His old teacher would have reprimanded him sorely along with a cuff to the head for failing so quickly. He sighed dejectedly and sat down next to the newcomer that was watching the match.
"She sure is a tough one," he said to the fellow.
He also watched William fighting the older Hunter, and was impressed by the speed and skill they were both showing. The older guy certainly had skill, but it looked like William was holding his own through sheer raw talent. Mathias silently urged him on, not wanting to distract him by cheering out loud.

Hiro nodded in agreement. "Yes she is, but you performed admirably too my friend. You have a swift blade for someone who is covered with such heavy armor. I'm surprised you were still standing after taking those hits. A regular person would have probably fainted from heat exhaustion and fatigue after a fight like yours." he stated admiring the man's high stamina and strength.

He then extended his hand. "Forgive me. I'm Hiro Mathus. I just joined earlier today." he said introducing himself. "And you?"

As they continued to converse he began to focus on William's match now. "His swordsmanship is frightening as well. The one with the curved blade." he said as he watched the two hunters.

Will angled his blade parallel to the ground and horizontal across his own body. The weapon leaped up to catch Drustwn's blade as the older man spun, quite acrobatically, through the air.
When he was clear of Drustwn's sword William quickly hopped back to his feet, dancing back a step or two and raising his sword defensively in front of him. It was becoming clear that this was very much a contest of the ability to counterattack rather than attack, so he decided to hold back a little and see if the old Hunter would come to him.

Yazira stepped in with a right thrust. TJ brought up her shield to block, the point of the sword scraping against the slightly rounded shield and sliding off to her left. Yazira withdrew her right scimitar while simultaneously slashing diagonally up and to her right up with her left blade.
TJ stepped in and slammed her shield against the weapon, interposing the steel disk between them. Again the diminutive girl twirled in a 180 clockwise movement. Her sword came around in a straight slash aimed for Yazira's ribs.
Yazira's sword was there in an instant, her left sword. The dual-wielding woman had bent her body back and to the side at an awkward angle to force her left scimitar around to the outside of the incoming sword. She threw the sword out to her own left, using TJ's momentum against her to spin her around. As the smaller woman spun about, slightly off balance, Yazira's right-hand scimitar descended in a powerful overhand chop.
TJ managed to interpose her shield once again, the sword and shield crashing together with the resounding clang of steel on steel. Suddenly TJ felt the wind rush from her lungs and rocked back several steps. She didn't even realize right away what had happened until she noticed that Yazira was balanced up on one foot with other still held out in a straight side kick. The dual-wielding woman had the slightest smirk on her face as she lowered her foot and began calmly walking towards her again.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 25, 2012 2:19 pm

Drustwn landed and skidded sideways a short distance, legs spread for balance as grit beneath his boots scraped as he slide to a stop, katana held before him in a defensive horizontal grip, while the dagger was held low behind him. He saw William go into a defensive posture and relaxed, staning upright and rolling his neck and shoulders almost casually.
After a few pops and cracks of older joints, Drustwn began walking towards William nonchalantly, blades down at his sides as though he happened to be holding them while out for a morning stroll.
"You're too stiff, boy. Loosen up and enjoy it."
On the last word, Drustwn spun again, the katana going low then high behind him, then forward in a powerful downward slash as Drustwn put his entire body behind the blow.

Mathias grinned and shook Hiro's hand,"Mathias Valenti. Welcome to the Corps."

Hiro gave a firm handshake and released Mathias' hand. "Thank you. I'm glad to be a part of it." he said excitedly. "You know I've heard many different stories during my travels of the Corps. Each one more fascinating than the last. Some people have even regarded the members as angels sent from heaven based on how they vanquish demons. Might be a little far fetched though." he remarked with a chuckle.

He turned his attention back to the fight and noted Drustwn's attack. "Looks like it's going to be a heavy one." He watched as the larger man brought the weapon down looking as if he wanted to cleave the boy in two.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 29, 2012 2:06 pm

Will flipped the tip of his blade down to catch Drustwn's low slash only to realize an instant later that it had been a feint. The old man spun back the other way and came at him with a straight overhead chop. Will raised his hands and brought up the handle of his sword aiming to catch Drustwn's blade near the guard of his own, where he would be able to exert to greatest strength against his attack.

TJ could feel the rush of energy from her enhancing blood wearing off. She was starting to slow, and the boost of speed was the only thing allowing her to keep up with the experienced Yazira. She took advantage of the moment it would take Yazira to close with her to grip the tip of her left index finger between her middle finger and her thumb and use them to press more blood out through the still open cut. She raised the shield and quickly lapped up the welling blood. Almost instantly she could feel the energy buzzing inside her again. She might not be Yazira's equal in skill, but if she could keep herself charged with her enhancing blood she might have a chance.
Yazira noted as TJ dipped her head down behind her shield and came back up looking more alert, her eyes darting to take in her surrounding a bit quicker. Yazira did the same and realized that there were sporadic blood drops on the ground all around where the two of them had been fighting. Her thoughts raced as she closed with the young woman again, their swords and shield ringing off of one another. TJ was obviously no expert swordswoman. She left obvious openings that were just as obviously not cleverly laid traps. She made moves and maneuvers that were clearly anathema to skilled swordsmanship. She was defending purely out of physical speed and reaction time, though she had been slowing just prior and leading up to Yazira's well-aimed kick.
The blood.
As they darted, spun, slashed, blocked, deflected, and riposted, Yazira noted that both of TJ's gloves had a small blade set into the tip of the thumb. She had clearly cut her own thumb. Which meant she needed the blood for something. She would definitely not be the first person in the Corps. to have some sort of odd ability. It had to be the blood.

Drustwn's blade slammed down heavily against Will's hastily redirected guard. He had to admit the boy was good, quick to react and clever improvisation. Drustwn continued to push down against Will's blade, trying to use his larger size to overpower the youth. At that moment, the dagger in Drustwn's other hand snaked out, the blade flashing towards Will's wrist.

Mathias listened to Hiro's words and laughed outright,"Angels? I've seen some interesting things since coming here, but that sure isn't one of them."
Hiro called his attention back to the match, and Mathias' breath caught when he saw the older guy slashing at his friend. He couldn't help himself," Look out, Will!"

Will heard the shouted warning, but he was already moving. He shifted his feet to reposition himself as he moved. He angled his blade up, hoping that Drustwn's exertion would cause him to continue his slash down towards the ground. Just to add a little extra momentum Will pushed against Drustwn's blade from the side, hoping he could move his hands far enough out of the way quickly enough to avoid the dagger.

Drustwn was unsurprised when Will moved and attempted to let Drustwn flop forward with his own downward push. It was an old and familiar tactic when being overpowered...he had used it himself often enough. The movement did spare William a slash from the dagger, which was too bad. Drustwn didn't want the boy to get too confident for having blooded him already.
When William moved, Drustwn went forward as if he hadn't expected the move, but instead of falling forward, he took one step and turned, his other leg snapping up into a vicious back heel kick. This fight was drawing too long, and Drustwn meant to end it.
PostPosted: Wed Oct 03, 2012 7:36 pm

Will pivoted his feet again, preparing to throw a left to right slash which he hoped to follow with a backspin kick and another slash when Drustwn's heel slammed into his ribs. Will staggered back gritting his teeth against the sudden pain shooting through his side. He brought his sword up in a straight medium guard position. He could already tell that Drustwn had done some damage and that it was going to be harder to move now.

Yazira darted in, her left hand scimitar thrusting in at TJ. TJ's sword came up and batted it aside violently. Yazira withdrew her left hand and thrust forward with her right. Again TJ blocked, with her shield, bashing at the offending weapon. Yazira again retracted her weapon crossing it over her left wrist as that hand came forward. She set the two weapons into a rolling pattern, her wrists pivoting around and making her two blades form whirling circular patterns through the air in counterpoint to each other.
TJ struggled to defend against the unorthodox move. Her sword came up to bat at Yazira's, but the blade simply kept on rolling past, falling back into formation with its twin almost immediately. TJ rushed forward and threw her shield into the center of the formation to attempt to disrupt it.
Yazira locked her blades against the shield, holding TJ stationary, then quickly extricated her right blade. Simultaneously she pushed up on TJ's shield while slashing at her midsection with her right scimitar.
TJ only just managed to dodge in time, the blade passing within inches of her abdomen. She recollected herself and set up to defend once more. Then she noticed Yazira simply standing in place, holding her scimitar up before her. A small spattering of blood was splashed along the end of the blade.
Where the hell did that come from? TJ thought. She didn't hit me. And I haven't managed to hit her at all yet either. Then she noticed her still bleeding finger, and the drops of blood on the floor. No way!? She caught it as it fell?
Yazira considered the small spatter of blood for a moment, and then raised it to her mouth and licked it off the end of her scimitar

Drustwn straightened, holding both blades down at his sides and looked behind himself at William without rurning, keeping his sideways stance. His hit had been solid, and the boy looked to be favoring his side. Drustwn turned to face William fully and extended the dagger out before him, held laterally, while his katana was held over his head, blade pointed forward toward William,"C'mon, boy... fight or quit."

"Fight!" William replied and launched a new attack.
Doing his best to ignore the pain shooting through his side William sent his sword In a straight stabbing motion aimed for the right part of Drustwn's chest.

Almost the instant that the red fluid touched her tongue Yazira could feel the energy buzzing inside her.
So, this is how she's been keeping up...
Yazira brought her blades up to her sides, deliberately moving slowly. She paused, as though considering her next course of action, then flew into motion. She rushed at TJ, coming straight in, her blades still held parallel to the ground at her sides. As she closed she suddenly darted to her left and came at TJ from the smaller girls right side.
Yazira's scimitars suddenly burst to life rotating one over the other so fast that they were a flashing blur. TJ twisted around and threw her shield out before her to protect herself.
Yazira rotated her blades left to right and flew into a fast and powerful backspin kick. She pivoted her entire body around 360 degrees while extending her right leg out behind her and dropping her upper body in counterbalance. As she came fully around her heel hooked on the edge of TJ's shield and pulled it out and around.
TJ, seeing her opponent stretched out before her thought she had finally been granted an easy opening and struck for the other swordswoman with her own shortsword.
Yazira's left hand scimitar flashed up to block while her right heel, still hooked over the shield, pulled down.
TJ, with her arm strapped into the shield was pulled down and to the side where she ended, half kneeling with her shield on the floor and Yazira's booted foot atop it. She glanced up to see the swordswoman's right hand scimitar pointed directly at the center of her collarbone.
"Yield..." TJ said.
Yazira raised her scimitar in salute and ran off to join battle with the remaining two warriors.

Drustwn was secretly approving of the boy's choice. Never give up, even if you know you can't win. Go down spitting in your enemy's face. Drustwn dipped the dagger down as the blade came in, then suddenly snapped it back up to try and send the blade high, meanwhile his own katana would be swinging in from the side, hoping to catch William's blade again, this time from the side while it was high.
