Sailor Altair

She had fallen off her feet and sideways the rest of the short distance from the ground when the ground shook upon the dragon's own fall.

Gradually, she persisted in moving again to a crouching form to eventually get herself standing back up.

"I-I think I'm still a-alive, Goretti," Altair was near tears when she looked to him and gave a nod with her words. She went on to say without realizing as she swept her gaze around while picking up another stone, grasping it more tightly than necessary, in the process of following through with her plan to stand back upright, "I'm t-thankful, b-but w-we really are a mess." One tear fell across her cheek and another across her other cheek and more followed in silence. Her features were strained as she struggled to keep herself prepared for more fighting that may be ahead of them and seemed inevitable both in the minutes and more into the future.

Castor Page Aptera

When the dragon's fall shook the ground, Aptera toppled over sideways as though all her strength left her then. It might have been adrenaline that had kept her moving thus far, but also quite possibly she may very well have been pushing her limits for quite some time.

But she was a tenacious sort and though she trembled with now greatly laboring breaths as she endeavored to prop herself up into a seated position first and then eventually back to standing, she kept her vision sweeping around her. The sights she saw unfocused and refocused; white patches appeared, disappeared, and appeared elsewhere. She moved to her knees now, but dizziness pulled her back down to being seated.

She would try again to stand in a second, she told herself determinedly as one of her hands, the one not keeping her seated up, took hold of a stone beside her. Meanwhile, she also then opted for keeping her gaze moving, not letting it linger on the bodies strewn around, ignoring then willing an abrupt end to the trail of tears that shot across one cheek. She instead focused on the still plentiful threats of the youma seeking for more anguish through targeting prey and pursuing hunts.

Bifrost Knight - Fighting Cinnabar

Claws slashed across Bifrost's face, splitting her cheek and nose open as she just barely turned her head to the side. White hot pain shot through her face as red spilled from the lines across her face. The attack just barely missed her eye, splitting her eyebrow instead. Blood ran down her eye, blinding her on the right side.

"You're right. You're a demon," snarled Bifrost in return, schrapnel from the fallen scale slicing through her cape and pants. The Knight fell to the ground in a crouch, in pain. Hail began to rain from above, the wash of the Prince's magic rippling through the crowd. With a grunt of effort, she shoved her shield over her head and focused on it. A layer of solid rainbow exploded out from the shield, draping down to seal her in a protective later of magic. The hail bounced off of her shield and barrier harmlessly.

Eyes searched for Celsus as the dragon crashed into the earth. Youma surged over the field, and desperiation fell into Bifrost's heart. They weren't going to win. They weren't going home.

Then Bifrost began to glow.

By Chronos and the Bifrost... I will not fail!

The Transcendant knight turned her attention back to Cinnabar and launched herself at the half youma, rainbow barrier dissolving around her.

Whimsical Blue

Andronicus Squire of Uranus

Hail rained down around her as she paused to catch her breath. The dragon took the air again and she was blow back, crashing into the stone ground with a yelp. She tumbled a few times, stopped only by a wall of rock. Or a boulder. Or something. Flying scale bits sliced a good gash across her shoulder, or was it melted rock? The world started to spin and she had a hard time keeping focus. That wasn't right. She hadn't taken that much damage had she? She couldn't be so low on health already. Her magic was gone, but she could still fight. Couldn't she?

Unfocused green eyes glanced at the battle field around her, trying to find a focus point.

They were losing.

Too many youma, too little planning. The skeptics had been right. It was a suicide run. She'd wanted to believe the best in Caedus... but he'd been wrong. They'd failed.

The world faded to black and Andronicus lurched forward, head hanging between her knees. It was a struggle to keep herself powered up and conscious at the same time. For a moment, Alex sat in the middle of Rift with monsters on all sides. With sheer force of will, she forced 'Andronicus' back.

Warmth filled her limbs, like that of a warm bed or bath, and the last shred of consciousness fled from the squire's grasp.

Andronicus is now unconscious.

Chibi Sailor Iduna

Iduna gave a cry of joy that her attack did something and jumped up and down a little in a cheer. She'd hit it! She'd been effective! Even if it made the beast scarily angry in the process, she'd still done something productive! The dragon took the sky, fires erupted, and hail began to fall from the sky. Iduna ducked behind her her rock, the moment of joy completely gone now. Sweat rolled down her back and face as the flames burned, only to be cooled by the ice falling around her.

The dragon crashed into the ground, and for a moment everything was still. All at once she saw youma surge into the battlefield, and every signature on her radar was masked, or jammed, or indistinguishable from the last.

One such youma landed in front of her, snarling threateningly. Panic set in, and Iduna started chucking unmelted hail and rock at the youma, even as her body filled with warmth. She glowed, becoming a beacon for even more of the monsters, and just kept throwing rocks.

Just letting you know where Iduna is, in case Cadmus is with her still

Sailor Skoll, Senshi of the Pack - With Hati

Her gloves sizzled from the contact with the dragon and she cursed something awful, ripping the melting cloth from her arm. Her skin blistered and she felt it stiffen even as she tried to open her fist. Damn. If she could never open that hand again, she was going to personally punch Metallia in the face, with it.

Skoll jumped back as the dragon took to the skies, skidding on her landing. Well this was bad. Now there was fire. And... golems? s**t, she didn't sign up for this s**t.

"A'ight, bro yer were right. This was a stupid decision," she said to Hati, slamming her shin into a rogue youma that had gotten into the battlefield. The prince of Hail did some really impressive magic, and hail rained down around them. It toned down the heat of the fire, and seemed to take out the dragon. It crashed to the ground in a heap, taking out Laurelite at the same time (hopefully).

Except now the youma army took to the floor and there wasn't a clear way out.

"Oh... ******** this." Skoll snarled, the senshi glowing like a candle and slamming a foot into another youma. Screw warmth and sleep, it was time to end these mofos, and go home.

Disposable Capt Sugarite

That... was a dragon. Sugarite had never encountered a greater youma before, though she knew up them. It was in the handbook. They were solitary creatures, usually only used by the higher ups because they were so hard to control. It was a sight to see, from her hiding spot behind a boulder. What? Don't look at her like that, what would you do if there was a dragon flying over head?

Quite honestly, she wasn't sure what to do in this situation. It was clear the White Moon had infiltrated to do... something, but whatever it was wasn't going well at all. The General Queen seemed to have her things under control - of course she did, she was Laurelite, she couldn't lose - and Chaos had the upper hand. Admittedly, her sticky net seemed wholly inadequate looking at Laurelite's wonderful scythe. So pretty, so shiny. Maybe someday Sugarite would have something like that.

Sigh... General Queen Laurelite was so dreamy...

Correction. That was a dragon leaking acid.

Re-correction. That was a dragon leaking and on fire.

And now it was hailing. Owowowowowowowowowwwww. Who's big idea was it to make it hail in the middle of the Rift? It was far too effective and it hurt damnit! Sugarite ran out from behind the boulder, trying to dodge the falling ice to little success. She kept an eye on the dragon, who gave it one last good attempt before crashing into the ground.

Correction, crashing into General Queen Laurelite.

She stared stunned at the wreckage, even as youma surged around. No.... no a General Queen couldn't die. She couldn't die. She was... she was invincible....

Sailor Dia, Corrupt Senshi of Candy
Location: Buried between Aluminite & Tourmaline
Action: Being suffocated GROUP HUG

There was a dragon.

There was hail.

There was a fudgin' dragon.

Then there was darkness.

She felt herself being yanked against the Lieutenant. Dia might have blushed, she might have slapped him, she might have done a lot of things in indignant response to being manhandled but instinct took over as the world collapsed around them so instead, she clung to the stranger as the hail began, sporadically falling around them as it mingled with raining scales.

The man's jacket was shared with her other companion - the casual conversation, the attempt at lightening up the grim mood having fallen silent, replaced with the seriousness of the moment. She couldn't see her friend's face, but a haggard, sharp breath let her know that Tourmaline was experiencing a bit of an emotional crisis. And that - that - made Dia upset. They were in over their head in this game, they were overpowered and overwhelmed and there was nothing that any of them could do about it.

One hand left the Lieutenant's chest, gloved fingers moving to gently take hold of the other girl's shoulder. It was hard to keep her teeth from chattering, her own emotions tempting her to break down and cry too, to give in and let out the sob that choked in her throat. The pink and black Lieutenant was shaking, unbeknownst to Dia for reasons of fury and rage as opposed to terrified crying.

She tightened her hold on Tourmaline's shoulder, hissing out a soft, "We'll show them next time, wait and see. Don't worry, KittyKat."

The General Queen's aura flickered and her own eyes closed.

"We'll show them."

Celsus Knight of Chronos

He felt his grasp on the whip slipping, his bloodied fingers loosening. Celsus felt his heart beating in his throat, felt the pulse of fear beginning to throb through his hazy mind, and he had no more strength left, he knew it all too well. His entire body was trembling with exhaustion and pain, and black spots were appearing in front of his vision, clouding in and out.

There was a heavy beat of wings, a gust of air -

- and Celsus suddenly, abruptly, found himself knocked backwards entirely off of his feet. It was not unlike when the tail had caught him around the middle - he felt as though something enormous had crashed directly into his chest with all the force of a car, Celsus's eyes flying wide, a choking, half strangled gasp escaping his throat as he was thrown off his feet.

The impact sent him reeling, flying, and he felt his back slam into the ground, all the breath knocked out of him. He skidded a few feet and crashed into Valhalla's legs, Celsus giving a rasping cough that sent blood spattering the rocks beneath him - and if he hadn't broken a rib from the dragon's tail, he was relatively sure he'd broken one now.

He was only dimly aware of the fact that he was glowing more than usual, his transcendence markings standing out starkly on his pallid face. He pushed himself up, though didn't get very far, Celsus's eyes half-lidded, his chest heaving for breath that he couldn't quite seem to get enough of.

Where was Denebola? Corvus? Altais? What had happened to Laurelite?

His head was spinning dangerously. Thoughts wavered in and out like a badly tuned radio, and he thought, maybe, if he just closed his eyes and slept it would all just...be over.

Everything would be done.

Super Sailor Thrymr, Senshi of the Southern Lights - with Labyrinthite, away from everyone else

Thrymr's feet skidded on the ground as he tried to back up, rocks crumbling around his feet, his eyes wide and panicked. He'd thrown his hands up in front of him in a desperate attempt at keeping Labyrinthite away, but the difference in power levels - and overall strength - was too great.

Thrymr was not a fighter, and Labyrinthite knew it.

"It's not - " A sound gasped out of him, almost a whimper, as the general's hand touched his chest, a thrill of fear chasing its way up and down Thrymr's spine. " - it's an escape to an end, it's - it's nothing more than just running away - "

Tears were burning at the corners of his eyes again; he felt paralyzed, rooted to the spot, his gaze fixed on Labyrinthite's. Thrymr's mind was a twist of thoughts and emotions he couldn't untangle, his raised hands coming to a rest on Labyrinthite's chest.

"I don't have anything to give you except kindness," he whispered, and the glow was rising in his face, his fingers, the rest of him; he did not understand it, nor anything else, his heart hammering in his chest so hard it was painful to feel.

"Forgive me," he said softly, achingly, and shoved as hard as he could against Labyrinthite's chest, Thrymr twisting out from the enclosed press of his arms to stagger several feet away, gasping for breath, his chest feeling tight.

Sailor Duhr, Senshi of Tornadoes
Action: Leaving her crew for a wounded fellow soldier civilian???

It was Chaos at its finest.

The dragon had collapsed, the hail and magic surrounding them creating more mess and mayhem than help. The monsters were too numerous, there were too many golems, youma, everything.

Blue eyes widened as they caught sight of Spacewatch collapsing, her fuku disappearing as her clothes reverted to that of a normal teenager (with added effect of a heck of a lot of blood).

"Aw, hell."

There wasn't enough time to explain, to say her goodbyes (whether they were temporary or, God forbid, permanent), though it seemed her companions were already too distracted by the fire and battle encircling them. She dashed forward, stumbling across bodies of both good and bad, monster and human, until she reached the unconscious girl.

Two fingers moved to press against her throat - waiting, waiting - there.

A pulse gently beat against her fingertips, soft and weak. There was no telling where the blood was coming from, though with a fall like that she could only fear it came from the back of her head.

Reaching down, she ripped parts of her already ragged dress, then turned around and with a loud riiiiiiiiiiip, tore off the remains of her overly-fluffed bow. Lifting the girl up into her lap, the tall blonde cradled her, looking her over and inspecting her injuries. Using the strands of fabric as makeshift tourniquets, she tended to what wounds she could find, her voice loud and commanding, as though she was really trying to assure herself and not the passed out stranger.

"It'll be alright, tough 'lil gal. Ah'll help ya, we'll get back through that portal and get ya back home in no time, ya hear? Hang in there..."

The glowing light that surrounded them both was warm, almost relaxing. But there was no time to bask in whatever magic was taking place - they needed to find an exit and they needed to find it soon.

Newgrange, Squire of Earth

Newgrange remembered vaguely nodding to Chaldene's question—he was okay—but he didn’t have any voice to confirm. The Greater Youma might have been dead, but his arm felt like it was being jabbed with needles and scraped to the bone with sandpaper. He glanced at his arm when the eternal senshi said he was glowing, but the strange light did not just cover his injured arm—it covered all of him.

Slowly—shakily—he rose to his feet again. He was light headed from the effort, partially because of the smoke and partially because the pain; his stomach felt like it was going to turn upside down from it, but he didn't have the energy to wretch.

But he wasn't the only one who was glowing, and he frowned, trying to focus on the male in front of him.

"…So are you. Hey—" He squeezed one eye shut to try and stay focused and clear his head. "—Are you okay?"

Chibi Goretti, Super Senshi of Glue

Goretti seemed stunned when the General disappeared—which was a good thing! Of course, all those youma were a very bad thing—but the General was gone! And that was a good thing!

He put a hand gently on Altair's arm as if he hoped that would reassure her—but then he noticed the strange glow that came from his skin—and hers. He watched, wide eyed as it spread across all of them.

Magic was not the weirdest thing, he figured—and this one didn't even feel bad.

"It's okay," he insisted. "You're definitely alive! And don't cry. We'll get out of this, don't worry!"

His optimism was never ending; he knew things were bad.

He just didn't want to believe them.

And—as long as he kept believing there was a happy ending, there would be.

"I've got your back. No one else is going to stab you on my watch. I promise."

General Labyrinthite

"One end leads to another beginning," he countered shaking his head at Thrymr's poor attempts at arguing with him. He might have been proud of the fact that the senshi was daring to even try and oppose him but the attempt was, in the end, rather pathetic. "Besides you aren't doing anything but trying to run away," he pointed out gold eyes darkening as they narrowed. "You're not fighting for your survival or to beat me, you are just standing here - "

Solid palms were pressed against his chest and the senshi shoved with all of his might. Labyrinthite hardly budged, though he shifted and it was just enough that Thrymr could slip beneath his arms, the bright glow of his skin almost blinding.

Unfortunately, the escape attempt proved to be futile when Labyrinthite took two strides forward and reached for the long, white locks of hair that fluttered with Thrymr's movements. He wrapped the pale strands around a fist and yanked. The folly of long hair, he thought absently, clucking his tongue against the roof of his mouth when he yanked again. "I didn't say we were done, you aren't going anywhere," he snarled.

He'd been kind, as kind as he got anyway, to the senshi so far but his patience was tiring and he was so close to exerting exactly how dangerous he could be.

Dallol, Squire of Uranus

For a moment, Dallol felt a glimmer of hope when she saw the dragon youma fall on the wounded General Queen. Good riddance. Hopefully the flickering of Laurelite's aura meant that she was dead or at the very least, wounded enough to stop coming after them. In any case, it was a good thing that all of them now had one less powerful enemy to worry about. Maybe the rest of the youma and Negaverse would disperse or fall into disarray with the loss of, not one but, two of their champions.

But that theory proved to only exist within her own mind. For not only did the remaining youmas not scatter back to the depths of the Rift whence they came from, those who were already waiting at the peripheries surged forward once again as soon as the greater youma was down with more coming forth to join them in hunting down the intruders. It was a sight that made Dallol's heart sink. First the General Queen then the greater youma then this. With the sheer volume of those accursed creatures that stood between them and the portal, there was just no way that they were going to make it to the portal in time now.

Turning to regard Corinth, she heaved a sigh at the dismal situation that laid before them. They should have known better than to storm the enemy’s stronghold like this. They should have scouted, avoided conflict then take that information back with them to put their heads together and come up with a plan for the future. There was no future now for any of them. Whatever they glimpsed and gleaned during their brief visit to NegaSpace looked set to perish along with them. Never to see the light of day.

Taking one of Corinth’s hand to give it a squeeze, that was when she realised that the both of them were glowing. ”What’s going on? Is this your doing Corinth?”

Corinth, Page of Neptune

In reply to Dallol's question as she took his hand, Corinth just shook his head. "Nope, none of my doing," He said, giving her hand a squeeze as the youma began to pour back onto the battlefield in droves. Corinth at least took solace in that he couldn't really regret his life, as long as he went down with Dallol by his side. Turning to her he smiled at her.

"Hey... so... Uhm..." He squeezed her hand again, looking into her eyes as he felt the warmth suffuse him and surround him. This was weird, but hell, now was as good as ever right. "If we... uhm... make it out of this alive..."

Oh he'd do all he could to get them out of this alive... But as it stood it was going to be a hell of an uphill fight.

"Wanna get married?"

Chaldene

Was he ok? He’d been thrown down onto stairs and suffered other injuries not to mention how much magic he’d used. He felt tired – oh so sleepy. It was like a heavy weight upon him, trying to tug his eyelids down as he blinked his green eyes. He just wanted to let them close, to give in to the fog that was evading his mind and let the warmth he felt lull him to sweet, needed, sleep. He hurt, he was sort, and just drained so utterly he wanted to sleep for hours and hours – maybe a day even.

Why were they glowing? Staring down at his hands he slowly lifted his head, it felt like it weighed a lot – too much. Blinking he shook his head slowly, it took a lot of effort to get his head to move much less move from side to side. “Not really…I’ll be fine. You should go.” And he could stay here, at least for a bit longer…till he could move. Choking on some more smoke he was lucky that the dragon seemed to have decided to split open further away from them so they got to avoid the majority of its blood. That didn’t mean the ground was devoid of it and safe – nope not at all.

As he took a step, then another, and slowly a third but as the sleepy feeling continued to weight heavy on the injured eternal. As he took another step his foot caught on something, he wasn’t even sure what, but he was dimly aware that he was falling. Hitting the ground he wasn’t even sure if he made any sound, wasn’t sure of much though he did feel himself hit the ground. And as luck would have it, or unluck, Chaldene had landed in a small puddle of the acidic blood and as he lay there in pain he was treated to the acid burning through his uniform and burning at his skin. Crying out and whimpering he rolled slowly, weakly, in order to get out of the puddle but that didn’t stop the burning of his skin, or his uniform, it didn’t stop the searing pain. And as he felt his body and mind give out on him slowly he let unconsciousness rise up and take hold of him.

Katya – Corrupted kitty.

After Benitoite had sent her off the guardian cat had gone running off in the hopes of avoiding what was going on. She hadn’t been able to avoid that attack from the royal, there was no way such a large attack was from a senshi of any other rank. She had watched it topple people, herself included, her little legs had given out as the heat had swept through her and downed her rather quickly and turned her into a mewling mass of burning up kitty.

After that things had been easier. She hadn’t run into too many problems as most seemed to not look down at their feet – a mistake for some. One senshi had found that out when they’d almost stepped on her. She had not taken kindly to that – how dare they not notice her! She had aimed her little forehead laser at them and watched in smug satisfaction as it hit them and sent them stumbling back and into a youma that was arriving on the scene. Knowing that youma didn’t like cats- like herself she hadn’t stuck around for long and had taken off into the mass of bodies.

It was there that she wound up falling victim to yet another royal, as again they had to be. The amount of coverage of their attack was enough to tell the cat that. As she crawled on her belly, looking for a place to hide, she yowled as hail struck her and bruised her slender body. Body! Yes! A body on the ground was scooted under and the dead person provided her the protection she needed as she licked at a bloody patch of fur on her back hip where she’d been hit particularly hard. Laying there, tucked away, she hoped to ride this whole thing out under the safety the body of some fallen…senshi, as she checked their uniform, provided her. She knew she wasn’t doing her duty but how could she if that hail continued to fall and killed her?

Castor-

There was always a cost at using magic. There was a price that you paid for power. His crystal had been so they could have something, so maybe, not all of them would die. But it was not a battle they would win. This was not a fight they could recover from. Not here and not now. They had failed, just as he'd thought they would.

A part of him was glad. Had they made it to Metallia, they would have been slaughtered. That, and no doubt she'd have taken the lives of countless chaos afflicted just so she might have survived. This had been a trap from the start. Intentional or no, this was a plan destined for failure. All he wasn't was to protect them, to stop the mass death that would happen. And as he force his magic to endure, he knew he'd pay the price.

The pain lancing down his arm came first, then followed quickly by the painful spasms of his lungs. Something like a knife dug into his hinsides, like it was trying to carve its way from his skin. Blood came up soon enough, violent hacking fits as Castor fought to keep the magic going, to maintain focus.

The cough became a wretch as blood and bile fell to the ground. His vision was shaking, and a rigning in his ears grew higher and higher.
Finally, he felt it. A sting in his chest, his heart giving a painful thud. He'd reach'd his breaking point, and if he kept on not only would he die- he'd take likely everyone there with him.

His crystal was cast away with a strangled cry of fury as Castor fell to his knees, shaking and drained.
All power came with a price, and he just prayed that it had been worth it.

Battles were always the same. The thought struck Alkaid as she released her grip on the collar of a young blunette, letting him slip through the rough grip of her fingers to slump on the ground at her feet. His lifeless face looked as calm and peaceful as one of Bernini's angels, even amidst the storm of pain and anger that surrounded them. As her attention drifted away from the last name on a long list of her sins, she straightened up and surveyed the battle field before her.

So much loss.

The citrine eyes drifted past death on either side, across the glowing bodies of the white moon loyals and to the remnants of the forces of the Negaverse. She could almost feel the loss of them all beneath the disappointment and for just a single, brief moment she remembered a different time. A different loss.

Just as she was about to turn away, her eyes picked out the sight of a small creature - a youma not suited to battle and, thus, completely unsuited to the environment around it. With an other-worldly agility, it leaped up to her shoulders and she found herself staring back into a pair of inky, black eyes. Then it leaped off again, bouncing over fallen bodies with nimble feet, back to wherever it had been summoned from. Alkaid watched it dwindle into the distance before she looked down at what had been deposited into her hand: a dark, smoking crystal that grew long and thin at each tip but weighed far more than it appeared. The thin tendrils of smoke curled around its pitch black core, lapping at her hand as it rested in her palm. It was like none other she had ever seen and as realization hit her, her eyes snapped up and away from it.

It took no time to find her target, doubled over a pool of blood and bile and sweat. The smallest of grimaces curled the edge of her lips as she advanced on him from behind but there was no hesitance in the purpose of her step, not a single ounce of her that questioned the actions that unraveled over the next moments.

"I really wish you had made this more fun for me."

Her words were as icy as the hail that had pummeled the ground not minutes before, but now Castor was the one hunched beneath the storm and Alkaid, instead, loomed like a bolt of lightning over his head. One hand reached down and fastened itself into the back of his shirt, curling and twisting into the fabric so tightly that she pulled him partially off of the ground.

"But a promise is a promise."

The last syllable was bitten off as she plunged her other hand, the one wielding the deadly, leaden crystal, into his back. It sunk easily into the strong flesh beneath the stub of his right wing, ripping through skin and sinew until it was lodged so deeply that it wouldn't come loose.

He'd made a promise. He would see it filled. Yet as he looked up just in time to see her, he suddenly regret. He had made a mistake. He had miscalculated and forgotten just how much a threat the Ascended General could be.

The pain sent a scream from his throat into the darkness, and as he felt his power being drained, as he felt his connection with his strength wane he still managed to turn his head and smile.

"In battle, or not at all."
Alkaid was not human any longer, but she was a being that would not take any satisfaction in a death here. There would be no joy in corrupting him now. As Castor lost the ability to focus, to keep going, he smiled.
No matter what happened, he'd done what he could. No matter what happened, he'd be alive just until Alkaid's mistress decided otherwise.
