☼ ╠═════════════════════════╣☼ Aadava Bonami the Sun of Ra Dragonbane Guild ☼ ╠═════════════════════════╣☼
Aadava's scowl slowly turned to a sadistic smile. He enjoyed having lowly beings knee at his boots. It was a testament to his great power he believed was bestowed upon him by the Sun god, Ra. It was a power meant to rule all lands. When his Fire Princess found him, he knew it was destiny for them to rule. Fire and the power of the Sun were meant to be together and rule over those they laid their eyes on. These lowly Light Mages were no match for their combined strength. The only reason why he tolerated the Irishman was because it was willed by the one he adored the most.
His heart was livened when she joined him. It was rage that drove her to unleash her fiery strength upon this Water Dragon Slayer. His heat combined with her fire would truly torture this insect. His heart raced seeing this wurm wither. "This is our power you vile creature. This is only the beginning," he said through his teeth. He stopped Kimura did. "I will be back to put you in your place once more," he let up on the heat and would head out. "I need to see the Sun," he announced to Ciaran and Kimura. "If my Princess needs me, I will be outside," he bowed to her and then gave a quick glare to Ciaran.
If she thinks I’m ever gonna give up, then she’s got another thing comin’. The Water Dragon Slayer grit her teeth. While the woman’s threats hung in the air, Aadava’s heat wave bore down on her. Every inch of her skin went dry and wet at the same time. Its moisture being pulled away and evaporated into nothing. The added heat did little to help with the effects of the poison either. It enhanced the pain she felt, making her entire body feel as if it were encased in the sun itself. Try not to think about it. Kaya had to tell herself repeatedly. The pain was growing steadily to the point where she wouldn’t be able to suppress a yell. Focus on something else. That something else turned out to be Kimura’s continuous gloating. What is it with these guys underestimating us anyway? Every single encounter she’d had with the dark mages had been met with disdain and belittling. Each one believed their guild to reign supreme over all others, especially the light guilds. But they’d shown them before what the consequences of doing that were. The three mages that were met in Leavenworth were taken down soon enough because they didn’t take the Fairy Tail mages seriously. She found comfort in the fact that it ended up taking five in all to wear them down enough for her to be taken. Apparently, they never learned their lessons. Not if Kimura’s stance on her escaping or being found was anything to go on. “I’ll find a way,” she ground out in a huff. “The only time I’ll lose anything is when I give up…which is never.”
Her vision swam while a wave of dizziness washed over her. She closed her eyes against it, attempting to gather her thoughts together again. Stupid space heater. Her skin was dry and patchy now with little moisture left. The exposed areas rough and raw, appearing as if having weathered a sandstorm. “We’ll see—” Kaya finally managed to mutter after a moment. “Just wait. They’ll come and prove you wrong.” Their conversation appeared to be done with. Kimura had already moved away and placed her attention elsewhere. Until, that is, she overheard the one remark made to Aadava. The teenager peeled her eyes open to match glares. “You heard me.” She didn’t need to say it again. But, then the other girl asked a strange question. “Huh?” Confusion flashed onto her face. “I didn’t hea—” Deep ember flames wrapped around her neck, stealing the rest of her words away in an agonized hiss. “Tsss,” she drew in a sharp breath at the sudden searing sensation. The scent of burning flesh greeted her nostrils once again, only this time it was hers. Pain flared to new heights. “Guh!” A grunt of pain broke from her dehydrated throat. There was no telling how long she’d be able to hold out against the two elemental wielders. Fortunately, Kimura’s wrath didn’t stay on her too long. Raine managed to draw her focus over to himself, leaving Kaya to deal with only Aadava.
Or not. The Son of Ra dispelled his technique at the same moment his guild master had. Although it was still warm in the cell, Kaya noticed a marked difference in the atmosphere. It grew far easier to breathe, speak, and move. Not that she really cared to do any of those just yet. But at least she didn’t feel like she was trudging up a sand dune in the middle of a crippling solar storm anymore. Yeah, some power. She glowered at the man’s back as he announced his departure. Beating up on me when I can’t fight back is sooo impressive. It never ceased to amaze and annoy her. Dark guilds bragged about their power, but they never did it when faced with fair odds. They always resorted to underhanded tricks or other measures to try to weigh the odds in their favor. Then they wanted to show off like they’d earned the right. The raven-haired teenager would be sure to point that out to the man when he came back. See what he had to say then. In the meantime, she planned to enjoy the small respite his absence afforded. I wonder if they got any water lying around here? It was doubtful they’d give her any considering her magic; although, they would ultimately be foolish not to. Water was essential to life. If they wanted to keep her alive for experiments, then there was no way for them to avoid that one key fact.
✸ OOC ✸ I forgot to mention this in my Ciaran post. He won't leave until Kim does. So, if she wants to talk to him elsewhere or send him to do something, then she'd have to say as much and then leave herself. He's a puppy dog like that. A twisted, mental, sadistic, love-sick puppy dog.

☂Kimura could only laugh at Raine's little statement, believing they just needed a sort of sit on the lap kind of dog for there guild and was the only purpose for him. Even more so, did he really think she was so stupid to let him out, it was obvious he was going to make a break for it. He was there prisoner, and forever would it stay that way, no amount of lies to join was going to work. "You could only dream of joining our guild, you'd probably do it if only to save your skin. You will stay a caged animal, for the rest of your life. Accept your destiny, you were always meant to be this way." She would state, though her irritation towards Kaya was still growing ever so much, even more to the fact that something with her felt..off. Maybe different, but she wasn't positive what that could be, and it made her keep thinking, wondering what to do in order to complete her own concerns and wonders about the girl. If only her fire could silence Raine, his little snarky comments were extremely irritating, and she ignored much of them. "Face it, you've lost. You're spouting insulting comments because you've run out of things to say." Kimura would answer boredly, her eyes darting between the water slayer and blood mage. What the hell was taking her members so long to complete there missions and tasks? She had sent out so many, yet only her most trust worthy of members were able to return the captive. She could understand the others having some fun with the capture, but waiting this long was getting a bit ridiculous, and she hated to wait for so long. The fire dragon slayer would watch as Aadaava wished for some fresh air to bask beneath the sun, which was fun as he had done his own job of retrieving the water slayer, and his own reward was in favor. She would wave him off with a warm smile, her own attention turning to focus on Kaya, who just could not admit defeat, even with the reality of things surrounding her.
"You've already lost, no body is coming for you. There is no one left to save you, they're all gone." Kimura would say with a twisted smirk, feeling joy knowing her guild master was nothing but a memory, and that no one from her guild was left to rescue her. The rest were all weak bugs, they would be squashed in the new world as it stood. Kaya seemed confused, once asked where she got such a word from..it sounded too familiar. Almost even her voice sounded the same, chibi, from her own awful childhood. Her head felt heavy with all the memories rushing forward with the more she thoughts about it, desperately searching for an answer of sorts as it practically drove her to the brink of crazy. Maybe..there was something she could do to figure this all out, but it would involve the help from Ciaran. Moving towards him, she would speak in order to request a little job for him. "Ci, would you mind doing me a favor? Could you head to the lab, and inform some of the scientists a little information? When Kaya arrives in there, I will need them to figure out where she came from..her origination's as such. When they get the information, they are to find me as quickly as possible and give me the news. The girl seems..familiar. I can't place my tongue on it, but I just need to know some things about her before I can truly decide." Kimura would ask of the male, before beginning to head out herself. "If you need me, I will be returning to the guild hall for a bit, dealing with these late birds. I need to find some information about them, possibly the other members might know something. Once you're done, you are free to do whatever it is you please." She would say, continuing to walk away from the group, and heading out to finish some unfinished business, maybe figure some things out and plan a bit, prepare to take action where needed.
[Kim exits] [OOC: I know it wasn't an option to head to main hall, but it just felt right idk. xD If you need her to stay in lab or would like her too, lemme know. c: She can easily get to and from I think, just thought she would need to check in between places, if that okay idk. xD]

Raine grit his teeth. He'd had more than enough of this childish game,"Alright, dickhead, listen to me. Yes, I have my own darkness to deal with but the situation that happened in her bathroom was inevitable. I haven't killed for far too long and it set me off. She is the absolute easiest prey Blood Raine could have gone for and he did so because she put herself on a ******** plate by being an idiot. You've been watching me. You know I have a necessary amount of control so shut your face. Nearly three weeks without a kill and I swear if you put her in here with me I'd still be able to hold it in because I want to make you and that shithead solar pansy the first ones on my list,"he snarled. That's what he hoped with what little soul he had within him. Images of Octavia leaning against his shoulder and telling him she forgave him for what he'd done ran through his mind. Surely he'd be able to stay in control after that. Upon mention of the dragon slayer's discomfort, Raine glanced over at the fairy who seemed to be struggling a fair bit. Of course, her element was water, she must be suffering from the heat and flames far more than he was. Narrowing his eyes at Ci, he huffed a laugh at the question he was presented with, "I don't know. Wanna take bets? If I win, will you come in here with me? I'll play nice,"he smirked, his pearly-white smile still streaked with blood. He could feel remnants of Blood Raine trying to return. As grim as he was at times, he normally wouldn't bet on an innocent persons life but he'd give anything to have a crack at this guy. Kimura wasn't going to let him go, she'd made that clear. He quirked an eyebrow. Ci assumed he didn't have a heart? "I would never have said I'm heartless. I just don't care enough for it to affect me. Do you think my heart races with fear for the fairy? Wrong. Do you think my blood pressure skyrockets because she's suffering? Not in the slightest. But I can't say I enjoy watching innocent girls being abused. I wouldn't go as far as empathy though." Raine rolled his eyes and scoffed,"Honestly? You're happy to threaten people with bloodshed but a few little swear words and you're going to call me up on my manners? How's this for manners; kiss my a**,"he said, chuckling. The sedative was clearly affects his sense of humour. He didn't normally find insulting people quite as funny but it was currently his only source of amusement. Unfortunately, his laugh quickly turned into a coughing fit followed by a spew of blood from his mouth,"I wondered when the rest of the poison was going to work its way out,"he mumbled, frowning at the currently useless crimson liquid spattered on the floor. He stayed silent as the small girl who considered herself so high and mighty excused herself. Watching her walk down the corridor, he couldn't help himself but comment,"Aren't you going to follow your beloved master, potato boy?"he asked, wanting them all to just leave.
In the quiet, he found himself drifting in and out of consciousness. He twitched as memories flew around his mind like a nightmarish montage; shattered glass, blood dripping onto a tile floor, fingers wrapping round a fragile neck and gripping it until it broke, a blade made of blood that sliced through a familiar face. He could hear himself mumbling a name, almost inaudible before jolting awake. The magic chains rattled against his movement, uncomfortably straining his arms. His golden eyes tried to focus on the dim world around him. Kimura said he'd be here for the rest of his life. Great. Just the place he wanted to die. He looked up to see his neighbouring fairy in the opposing cell who probably felt worse than he did."You okay, kid?"he questioned,"Don't die, please. If you do then I'll be the main focus of the midget guild master's wrath and I really can't be bothered to deal with her. No offence but rather you than me so... stay with me, yeah?".
OOC: Totally up to you, sweet! The lab is near the guild I would assume so she's more than capable of getting there.
Also, I wrote this assuming that Ci would be leaving next post but let me know if he isn't so I can't change it before you post.

Ciaran straightened to his full height. The fluorescent light from above cast a shadow over his features, making his yellow orbs even more pronounced in the dimness. “Touchy, touchy.” His mouth curved upward in a feral grin. “Be careful what you say, Blood Raine. You will find that words can have just as many consequences as actions.” Yes, indeed, he could see it clearly in his mind’s eye. With Kimura’s permission, he would retrieve the Celestial Spirit girl and bring her back to the labs. He would place her in the same cell as the red-head. She would be bound, unable to defend herself, and a bit worse for the wear. Then they would know whom spoke the greatest truth. We shall see if your will is stronger than that of your double’s. The dark mage believed he knew the outcome, and he relished in what could be.
He could not linger in such reverie for long, however. There were equally wonderful opportunities present before him. Raine’s gaze had shifted to his fellow prisoner. Ciaran noted the penetrating stare with which he assessed the fairy. What lies in that demented mind of yours? He wondered before hearing the man speak. His subsequent comments were not disappointing either. “Hah! You have a very wicked sense of humor indeed.” There was a moment’s hesitation before he added in a skeptical voice, “Are you sure you aren’t heartless? To bet on someone’s life is no game to be played by a true mage of the light. Even your words contradict from one sentence to the next.” The white-haired male folded his arms across his chest, supporting one arm with the other, then lifted his hand to his chin. “I wonder if you simply haven’t figured it out yet? Ah well, we’ll get there in due time.” He met the man’s scoff with one of his own. "My dear Blood Raine, you are oblivious, aren’t you? Manners and threats go hand in hand. There is a whole school of etiquette involved here that you are sorely unaware of. Mayhaps we can remedy that…”
Before he was able to further that idea, Kimura stepped up to request a favor of him. His gleaming eyes shifted to her instantly, giving her the full respect and attention she deserved. Have the scientists do some further research on her? He spared a brief glimpse at the suffering Slayer. Well now, this is quite intriguing. Kimura never felt ill at ease around prisoners. Never questioned things as she currently was. For the girl to have unnerved his Flame Princess…there must be something peculiar about her. A fool would claim it to be their opposing elements- fire and water- but Ciaran was no fool. He would do as she asked of him with pleasure. “As you wish, Master Kimura.” The young man dipped his head. “I will bring you the information myself.” Ciaran watched her retreating form for a moment, enjoying the view from where he stood. Sadly, Raine had to ruin it by getting in another taunt. “Actually,” he waved his hand flippantly. “I have something else I must tend to. But don’t worry. I’ll be back to continue our little game. Until then, try not to die, Sputnik.” Casting him a parting jeer, Ciaran went to do his Princess’s bidding.
The Chibi-Chibi was fooling herself. No matter what she said, no matter what she did, Kaya knew the truth of the matter. Her guildmates would come for her. They were her family, after all. They’d never leave her to die here like Kimura was suggesting. “Tch,” she looked away from the dark-haired girl. She was tired of talking to her. Tired of the conversation running around in circles like this. You’ll see. Kaya repeated the promise to herself. They’re coming and there’s nothing you can do to stop ‘em. In the meanwhile, the Dragon Slayer was going to do everything in her power to thwart the dark guild’s plans. Whatever they had in store for her, she wouldn’t go easily or quietly. She’d fight them every single step of the way. First thing was first though. The raven-haired teenager heaved a sigh. The air in her cell seemed to finally have dropped back to a normal temperature. Yet her body continued to feel the effects of the heat wave. It would be awhile before her body could naturally replenish the moisture stolen from it. And then there was still the poison to deal with. It had reached its zenith during the torment of the heat. Her muscles spasmed and cramped from the combined trauma. While her nerves remained fragile and frayed, she sensed that the effects were lessening over time. She closed her eyes and drew in a breath of cautious relief. This stupid poison should be out of my system soon. Oh how she would thoroughly enjoy that moment. It had robbed more of her strength than she cared to admit or show. With it out of her body, Kaya knew she’d recover faster than before and could put up more of a fight when they came for her.
One by one, the dark mages left the cell area. Her enhanced hearing had picked up Kimura asking something of the white-haired male. But, what that was, she couldn’t be certain on. She’d caught snatches of things. Something about her and needing more information. Information about me? What would they want to know about me? It’s not like there wasn’t information out there on the internet. Her muddled brain tried to work through the questions. Not that it mattered. Anything they wanted to know, they could simply park themselves at a laptop and go do their own digging because she wasn’t going to give them a single answer. Whatever… Kaya eventually gave up on trying to figure out the meaning of what she’d heard. She was dehydrated, fighting back against a rapidly forming headache, and attempting to get a grip on the tremors that had since started. Closing her eyes, she rested her chin against her chest. The Dragon Slayer focused on her breathing as waves of pain passed over her. At some point, she must have given in to her body’s desire for rest. Mutterings and the rattling of chains from across the cell slowly brought her back to awareness. “Hmm—” Bleary blue orbs searched for the source of the noise until they fell on the Sabertooth mage. It took a second for her to process his question. “Heh,” Kaya scoffed. “Don’t worry about that. I’ve been through worse. It’ll take more than what those idiots got to keep me down. And I’ve got a bone to pick with her anyway.” Bringing her head up a bit more, she took a better look at her fellow prisoner. “What about you? You’re not lookin’ so good right now?” By the smells emanating from his direction, it appeared as if he’d been dealing with his own issues. “You’re Raine from Sabertooth, right? They get you with some poison too, huh?”
Raine hated that he couldn't do a damn thing to stop these bastards while he was in here. If they wanted to catch her, they probably could, and if they wanted to beat her, it was clear they had no issues with harming young helpless girls, and if they wanted to throw her in here with him as she bled on the floor..."I wouldn't kill her,"he uttered as Ciaran walked away. He was sure he wouldn't kill Octavia but... would he hurt her? He wouldn't put it past Blood Raine to at least hurt her mind, traumatise her into nightmares for the rest of her life, scar her flawless skin as a reminder that he would always be there, watching.
Raine lifted his head slightly to look to Kaya who'd finally responded to him. He hummed a laugh at her determination, "Breaking bones is far more fun if you ask me. Picking at them gives your opponent a chance to come back at you,"he said bluntly, imagining snapping Ciaran's legs and asking him how easily he'd catch someone then. His mind was brought back to the present when the slayer asked him how he was. Why would she care? "I've felt a lot worse and survived it. Personally, I think I can work the burned and beaten look quite well,"he replied, looking at the scorch marks on his arms. He nodded at her correct guess on his identity,"That's me. The ace of Sabertooth, too busy poisoning myself with alcohol to notice the harsher poison that was lacing it. Serves me right, I guess. I should know better than to let myself get distracted but I... I had a rough day,"he said, muttering the last few words. He wasn't sure if she'd overheard what he'd done; almost killing a member of a guild he'd sworn to protect with his life. Even for someone with little emotion, he was more than ashamed of himself. He tried to move the subject,"And you, fairy, are Kaya. Water dragon slayer. Notoriously destructive but the public love you anyway,"he said with a smirk. At least he wasn't in the company of a goody two-shoes,"Sorry about the betting on your life thing. That wasn't exactly me talking. However, I'm every bit the a*****e you probably think I am,"he paused for a moment,"Which is why you'll curse at me when I tell you that the brat wasn't lying. I'm like a human lie detector. I could sense her heart racing with excitement. Your guild master... and mine... they're gone."He didn't mention Valor. For some reason he found himself unable to speak his only friends name,"I'm sorry. But I know the tone of voice and heartbeat of someone who's enjoying people suffering from the truth. Same feeling I... the other Raine gets when telling people exactly why no one will find a body to bury after he's done with them. I'm having trouble with the idea myself but it's true. Hold out hope for your other guild mates but don't kid yourself about Clement."Raine felt somewhat horrible stating these facts to the fairy but it was better she knew.

Kaya blinked then stared at the red-head. She didn’t quite understand what he just said. Whether he was joking or being serious. “Huh?” The teenager pursed her lips in thought. “I guess if you mean getting back at them is fun. I don’t care so much if any bones get broken, so long as those idiots get what’s coming to ‘em.” To be honest, she couldn’t wait for the day she was free from her restraints and able to fight on more equal footing. She’d show the Fire Dragon Slayer- for that’s now what she recognized the dark-haired Master as- the true power of the Water Dragon. “Hmph,” Kaya grunted a laugh, looking at the visible red welts on the man’s skin. She could practically hear some of her guildmates squealing as they fawned over his picture in Sorcerer’s Weekly. “Ya know, I bet a spread like that in SW would sell lots of copies. And I know where some of them would go.” Kaya shook her head slightly. If those guys only knew who I’m talking to…. But they didn’t. They likely wouldn’t. Not until they managed to get out of this place, preferably in one piece. “I know how ya feel on the rough day. This hasn’t been one of my best.” The raven-haired teenager shot him an empathetic smile. While she didn’t know what all he’d been through, she knew enough to where she could empathize with him. He’d lost his fight and so had she. Now, they were prisoners together, and would have to endure who knew what. Between the two of us, we can figure out a way out of this mess. Ever the optimist, she believed that they’d get out of there. One way or another, whether by escape or rescue.
Before her thoughts could wander too far into that realm, Raine’s proclamation of her identity drew her back to the conversation. “Hey! I’m not THAT destructive,” she grumbled, placing extra emphasis on the second to last word. “I’m as careful as I can be, but things get out of hand sometimes.” There was a brief pause before she muttered under her breath, “I pay for the damages.” Oh, yes, she did indeed. It was a constant point of bickering between herself and Yuki. He always pulled for the jobs that were more modest and which provided a modicum of restraint for her. She, on the other hand, wanted to take on jobs that were more fun and adventurous. She’d more times than not win that argument too. Only to have to hear the “I told you sos” from her Exceed partner after they returned home with hardly more than when they left. I hope the little guy’s okay… Sighing, the teenager gave a faint shake of her head. “To tell ya the truth, I wasn’t paying attention anyway. That stupid space heater got my brain a little overcooked. Compared to the Oompa-Loompa gang, I don’t think you’re much of an a*****e.” A moment of silence passed between them. Kaya took the opportunity to test her restraints once again. They tightened just as before. Damn it. Her head rolled backwards, garnering a wince of pain from the burned flesh there, so that she could stare up at the ceiling. No sooner than she closed her eyes that the Sabertooth mage said the last words she wanted to hear.
The Dragon Slayer’s head jerked forward. Her hackles instantly raised and her physical pain forgotten. “She had to be lying! No way would Master Clement fall to—” She stopped herself. “Did you—they got your Master too?” The revelation was enough to give her pause and think. Could he be lying? No, he’s from Sabertooth. Why would he lie about this? If his Master is gone then-- Kaya didn’t want to admit it, could hardly comprehend it. Master Clement. Renae. Kai. All of them were…gone? Her head drooped. Ice blue orbs darting back and forth across the cell as if searching for any physical signs of falsehood. Then she remembered. The smell of blood. She’d been reluctant to think it anything more than the result of torture. Now, however… She took in a deep breath to gather the scents once again. There lay the proof she needed. How could I miss it? The sheer amount of blood she smelled was more than ample, which meant that she couldn’t deny it any longer. Her Master and friends, her family, were dead. Kaya visibly slumped in her chains once realization washed over her. What should she do? What COULD she do? For the first time in a long while, she felt utterly and unabashedly lost. Part of her wanted to shout and stomp and denounce the claim. Yet, she couldn’t. It had been easier to ignore it when the dark mages were the ones trying to get her to believe it. They would twist anything for their own pleasure. With Raine, things were different. There was no pleasure in it for him. After all, he’d lost his Guild Master in the same way. “Just wait.” Kaya’s expression hardened, though she said nothing more. Everything that needed to be said was held in her features.
The corners of Raine's mouth twitched in amusement. This fairy was tough but innocent. Destructive but not violent,"To be honest, breaking bones is fun but the best sound in the world is when you can hear someone's blood vessels bursting under their skin,"he said. Remembering the sound - a strangely satisfying noise that couldn't be described but was similar to someone flicking the palm of their hand with their nail, a dull pop as it ruptured.
The blood mage laughed heartily at Kaya's mention of Sorcerer Weekly, "You like my articles do you? They're hilarious. I bet I know where most of them would go as well; under girls beds for late night fantasies,"he smirked. He didn't really care for the attention the fame of being Sabertooth's ace brought him. A lot of things the media wrote about him were exaggerated or outright bullshit but it did mean he got his way a lot with a majority of the female population and having them dream of him was something akin to sexual mind control, was it not? His smile soon dropped again. He was having trouble keeping his mind away from the present. Was this sedative a depressant as well? "I think we've both had a very different kind of rough, fairy,"he stated, memories flooding back to him,"You wouldn't understand. In fact, I think you'd end up grouping me with the dark wizards. I deserve to be,"he said through gritted teeth. He couldn't understand why he was starting to get angry and upset again. He didn't want to open up so why was he? He wouldn't receive comfort from the slayer because if she knew, she'd only be disgusted with him. Plus, what would stop her from telling all her fairy friends about it? He shook his head, accidentally causing dizziness and he was sure he blacked out for a second. Or was that Blood Raine trying to break out and stop him talking to the fairy about his unacceptable behaviour? He frowned at Kaya,"Not that destructive? I distinctly remember a review posted on the Magic Council's website about lack of control on a certain slayers part. Funnily enough, she used water. I only know one water dragon slayer,"he said in an accusing tone, "I'm guessing that's one of the reasons Kimura wanted you. Being the only water dragon slayer. All of you are pretty unique when it comes to... am I right in saying parentage? I know Selma considers her dragon as her parent so I'm assuming that goes for all of you,"he questioned. Raine shut his eyes tightly at Kaya's stressed tone of voice, claiming the dark guild master's claim to be a lie, ultimately calling him a liar too,"Do NOT accuse me of being a liar, fairy!"he snapped, golden eyes glaring at her. He'd been called enough things today but 'liar' was the worst insult you could throw at the blood mage. He sighed shakily to calm himself,"Yes. Celeste is gone."
For a time after Kaya's statement that all they needed to do was wait, give their guild mates a little while longer to find them, Raine was silent. But it was causing him more stress than good. Normally he liked the quiet. That's why he lived alone in the less crowded area of the city in a neighbourhood not many could afford. But right now he couldn't stand it."Did you know that even though I'm the ace, that I'm actually below Andrea King in ranking for guild responsibility?"he asked, knowing that it was unlikely common knowledge that he was third in line to be responsible for looking after the guild in the absence of a master,"However"he continued,"I never had to compete to be an ace in the first place. Master Celeste was too afraid I might kill someone were she to put me in the trials. Same reason I'm outright banned from the both friendly guild competitions and the Grand Magic Games. Too high risk. Once my bloodlust gets a hold of me it's difficult to stop. That's how come I nearly..."he paused,"It's just hard."he sighed.

Her head cocked to one side. Her brows scrunched together as she eyed the Sabertooth mage. He was a bit on the odd side to be sure. She had never encountered someone quite like him before. Someone who seemed to enjoy the idea of suffering but not on the innocent, if what she’d heard before was anything to go on. “I’ll take your word for it.” Kaya couldn’t imagine the sound he was referring to. Never, in all the fights she’d been part of, could she remember ever hearing a blood vessel pop. There was a time or two when she believed Master Clement came dangerously close to rupturing the one in his neck. Those instances typically took place after receiving letters and bills from the Magic Council. “To be honest,” she gladly switched gears. “I’ve never read any of ‘em. But I’ve heard a lot about them from some of my friends.” There was a pause and then, “You aren’t too far off about the bed thing.” The Dragon Slayer smirked, a knowing expression upon her features. While she wouldn’t break confidence, she recalled the day she learned of some of the girls’ obsession with the red-head. They’d all but pounced on her and sworn her to secrecy. Sometimes, Kaya and Yuki loved picking at them about it, getting a hearty laugh at the way they’d freak out.
“Oh, I don’t know,” Kaya tossed back at him. “It’s been a pretty crappy day.” She didn’t necessarily want to get in a pissing contest about whose day was worse; however, she wanted him to see that he wasn’t alone in it. “Try me.” The teenager issued her challenge to him. “Unless you willingly hurt another person for no good reason, then I don’t think you’re anywhere near bad guy level. It’s people like them,” she jerked her head towards the exit the dark mages had taken, instantly regretting it for the wave of dizziness and nausea that washed over her. Taking a moment to let things settle, she pressed on, “People like them who walk over the innocent and do whatever the hell they want without caring what happens. People who hurt for the sake of fun. That’s a group hard to be lumped in with.” Of course, she couldn’t know about his other half’s behavior. She was merely an A-class wizard. Not privy to the more classified information of the guilds, either hers or his. “Oh,” Kaya blinked. “You read that, huh?” That must’ve been some review the Blood mage read. Not many people recalled such things from the Magic Council website. Then again, she wasn’t the only “destructive” one in her guild either. I wonder what the others have in their reviews? She’d have to remember to ask Alyssa or Vistoria later. See if she could weasel it out of them. That would be later, though, after they got out of here. “Hmm…” Kaya mulled over his question. “Yeah, that sounds right. I can’t speak for everyone, but all the Dragon Slayers I’ve ever met have considered their dragons their parents. I never knew anyone else aside from Watatsumi and Yue. They raised me so I consider them my parents.”
She fell silent for a time then. Memories, however vague, wafted across her consciousness. That is, until Raine broke into her thoughts with his revelation. A revelation that she could easily have done without. Pain filled her heart. Fairy Tail and its members were the only other family she’d known. To lose any of them…it was a blow that drew the wind from her lungs faster than Aadava’s solar wave. “I wasn’t calling you a liar,” she said in a breathy sigh. Raine apparently took serious offense to being deemed as such, even though it was the dark-haired girl who’d she called out. “It’s just…not easy to accept, okay?” In truth, it was downright unfathomable. Clement was the epitome of strength in her eyes. A perfect example of a strong individual who cared for those around him. Renae herself was no pushover. Just wait… Her promise of retribution rang out loud and clear. Kimura and her minions would pay for what they’d done. For all the heartache they’d wrought. “And I’m sorry,” she peered up at the Sabertooth. Sympathy laced her ice blue orbs. “About your Master…” After that, they slipped back into an uncomfortable silence. The raven-haired teenager didn’t know what else to say to her fellow prisoner.
He solved her dilemma by being the one to speak first. “Huh?” What did he mean that he didn’t have to compete to be ace? Kaya knew of very few instances where the title was simply handed to someone. She certainly never heard of an ace that was ranked below someone else in terms of responsibilities. What’s going on with him? Raine was like an enigma. A light mage whom held darker tendencies by the sounds of it. Then she remembered something he’d said earlier. “The other Raine…your other half…is he why you can’t compete in things? Because he takes over or something and makes it hard to stop?” It would make perfect sense. The things he talked about earlier, about lumping him in with dark mages- they could be in direct reference to this other, darker half.
◆ Thoughts: "I hate myself. Octavia - I'm so sorry I hurt you."◆
spacI became insane...
◆ ◇ ◈ ◊ ♦ ♢ ♦ ◊ ◈ ◇ ◆
Raine smirked. At least he wasn't stuck with a squealing fan,"Well, some exclusive information for you is this really is my natural hair colour. I don't do anything weird like dye it in the blood of my enemies. And if you ever find yourself with one of the posters, I'll sign it for you. Make all your girlfriends jealous,"he laughed. Even in this dire situation, he could always find humour in the rubbish the media wrote about him. Though there were a few girls who'd told about their 'experiences' with him. They'd found themselves quickly blocked on his phone and no longer called upon.
Raine visibly flinched at Kaya's sentence. He technically didn't willingly attempt to murder someone innocent. But his other half... Blood Raine... he wanted to. He'd almost achieved it. He felt his stomach churn slightly. A side effect of the poison? Probably not, "Depends on what way you look at it if I'm totally honest,"he said quietly. If she wasn't a dragon slayer Kaya might not have heard it. Octavia promised that the events in her bathroom wouldn't be spoken of outside of her apartment by her. He never joined her in that statement so he wasn't sworn to secrecy like she was. Would he feel better to get it off his chest? Perhaps..."I...,"he began. Pausing. This was the difference between him and the other Raine. Blood Raine would be relishing his near victory in claiming what he thought was his but this Raine, the one who was in control now, he wasn't proud in the slightest and he found it difficult to admit. Instead, he changed the subject again,"Two dragons? Any slayer I've met only had one dragon parent. I take it you lost yours too? Seems all of you lost them one way or another. A coming of age thing is my theory. I've noticed a lot of dragons took off around the time they felt their so-called child was able to go it alone,"he said thoughtfully. The blood mage sighed,"Sorry, the liar thing has always got to me. I get that it's not easy to accept. In my current state I'm feeling unlike myself but even when my mind is right, I won't be crying over my master. I always knew Celeste would die for us one day. I told her many a time she put herself in harms way too often and now she's gone. I hope she rests in peace and can forgive me for failing her,"he said sadly. Raine looked into Kaya's innocently curious eyes"You heard me, fairy. I didn't compete for my position as ace. Celeste was scared that if I fought someone for it, I'd end up killing them,"he stated,"The other Raine is a big part of the issue, yes. But let's face it, my magic isn't exactly suitable for a friendly fight. Blood Raine is a whole different story though. He's... he's capable of a lot worse than you could imagine,"his tone dropped from his usual roughness to a meeker tone, one that sounded as if he were talking in a hushed voice about a completely separate person and didn't want them to hear what he was saying,"He doesn't care for anyone's life but his own. He uses me as a vessel to fuel his desires and has no boundaries. I'm forced to satisfy his needs on a regular basis. Ever wonder why so many terrible criminals show up dead on the streets of L.A.? It's not karma. It's me and him."Raine knew there would be potential negative consequences for admitting to this but it was all spilling out and he couldn't stop himself. He nodded solemnly in response to Kaya's question of why he wasn't trusted in competitions."Sometimes it's worse. Sometimes it becomes more than hard to stop. It's rare but it can get to the point where I outright can't stop and that's the only thing I truly fear in life. Recently it almost cost me more than my life is worth. I... I almost killed someone from my guild,"his voice shook,"Octavia Kane. I'm sure you've heard of her; the celestial wizard that appeared a little while ago with a mission to prove that her kind don't just rely on others to fight their battles for them. Purest person in Sabertooth by far,"he said, speaking with vague fondness. She'd certainly proven that in her short time within the guild which is what made what he was about to say so much worse,"She didn't even do anything wrong, just cut herself on some glass when we were alone together. Her blood. It's AB-, rarest you can find and I can't describe how intoxicating it was to me and I... I lost it... he took complete control,"he stopped for a moment, struggling with the memory,"It was awful and all I could do was watch my body move against my will from inside a mental barrier. She's physically useless against him and he cornered her. She was begging me, crying for me to stop and he loved it. The moment I got control back, I had my hand around her neck."By this time, quiet tears ran down the blood mage's face. Another first for anyone but a select few to see."He would have broken her and I would have had the body of an innocent sixteen-year old girl on my hands. Not many people know about Blood Raine, even within Sabertooth, so every finger would be pointed at me, not him. And honestly, it is my fault. I should have more control. It's my body. My mind. But he's so strong."Raine shut his eyes tightly. He could hear Blood Raine's laughter in the back of his mind. The drugs were blurring the lines of control,"That's why I'm no different to the dark wizards in that respect as of that moment,"he said, hanging his head down in shame. He didn't want to look at what he believed would be disgust on the fairy's face.

Kaya snickered. “Oh, you have no idea,” she said with a touch of amusement. “I might have to take you up on that, just to see what they’d do. Something tells me I’d have to hide it somewhere, so they wouldn’t take it and fight over it.” The teenager could just picture it. Her friends would gawk in awe at the signed poster before proceeding to chase after her to get a hold of the coveted image. It’d be a brawl unlike any other. Her enjoyment of the moment faded swiftly enough, however, as the red-head continued to berate himself for whatever it was he’d done. The delight that touched her eyes dissolved into uncertainty and confusion. “How many ways is there to look at it?” She didn’t understand. Possessing a lack of morality was clear cut, in her opinion. He either wanted to hurt someone or he didn’t. There wasn’t any gray area in between. “Look, I don’t have a clue what you mean by that. But I can tell ya that you don’t scream bad guy to me. Nothin’ I’m seeing or hearing makes me wanna lump you in with those idiots. You shouldn’t be so easy to think that either.” A hint of admonishment underscored her words. Despite his sarcasm and a*****e remarks, she didn’t sense that sort of darkness from him. Yeah, he carried something inside of himself. A secret of some kind that was slowly unveiling itself. A subject he was both reluctant yet longing to bring to light.
For a moment, she thought he might reveal whatever it was that bothered him. He chose instead to change the subject again. “Heh,” Kaya released a dry chuckle. The act sent her into a small coughing bout as the dryness caused a tickle in her throat. Once she finished, “I got really lucky with them. Yue is Queen of the Lunar dragons and ‘Tsumi is King of the Water dragons. Water and the Moon have always gone together. As far as the beginning of time. One can’t be whole without the other. They’re no different.” She spoke fondly of her dragon parents. A softness entered her features as she related their bond to Raine. “’’Tsumi told me that people call their connection a lot of different things. The main one being Yin and Yang. His push to her pull…or something like that. He likes to ramble a lot. He’s the one who taught me magic. I was gonna learn Lunar Dragon Slaying magic too but..” Kaya shifted in her restraints, casting her blue eyes to the floor. It seemed as if Raine already knew about the dragons’ tendency to disappear. Her situation was slightly different though. “I didn’t lose them,” she muttered less confident than before. “I just don’t remember where they are…I mean, I remember a lot of things about them, like what they look like and sound like and things they taught me. But—” The raven-haired girl shook her head. Even now, she couldn’t recall everything about her dragon parents. Familiar pangs of frustration swelled in her chest. “There are some things I can’t remember at all. I remember growing up on an island, but not where it is. Stuff like that. And some of the things I do remember are starting to fade…I don’t even know what happened to them.” Her last sentence came out in an almost inaudible whisper. She kept hope that she would reunite with them one day. That she might suddenly recall something and be able to find them. She refused to believe that she’d never see them again, or that they left her.
The teenager closed her eyes for a second before looking back over at the Blood mage. His demeanor was far different than what she was used to. He stated that he wouldn’t cry for his Master but asked her forgiveness for his perceived failure. It made him a man of contradiction. Then again, Kaya recognized that everyone processed grief differently. This could very well be his method of doing so. Who was she to judge? For her part, she would have a good cry. When all was said and done, and all her family was back home at Fairy Tail, safe and sound- that’s when she would be able to unleash all her pent-up emotions. “Don’t worry about it,” she said after a long pause. “I don’t like being called a liar either. And, for what it’s worth, I think your Master would’ve been proud of you.” She let the subject drop after that. She wasn’t sure what else to say that wouldn’t sound obnoxious or cheesy. If she knew what was to be revealed next, she may have considered speaking up. As it so happened, Raine’s detailing of recent events in his life blindsided her. Kaya’s chest tightened. Her jaw clamped shut in response to what she’d heard. Her mind worked double time to process all that he relayed. He attacked her?! She blinked, utter disbelief washing over her core. And he’s the one responsible for killing all those criminals?! It was a lot to take in. However, regardless of her initial shock, she couldn’t help but pick up on the subtle emotions being displayed. When he spoke of the other Raine, it was with pure disdain and fear. Hatred for what the darker half made him do, and terror in knowing that the lines were blurring. Sadness, self-loathing, regret, helplessness- the Dragon Slayer sensed all of these flowing from him, pulsating outward in waves as he unleashed the things he had never been able to tell before now. Yet, it was the shame that struck her above all others.
Her shock quickly wore away when she witnessed his disgrace. A look of understanding and acceptance filtered onto her face. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she spoke in a unperturbed tone. “I think you’re very different. You’re not a monster hellbent on destruction. Maybe the other Raine loves pain and suffering, but not you. You’re not like him at all.” Kaya paused to mull over her next words. She wanted him to see what she saw, understand what she understood of the situation. “Sure, you share the same body and all, but you’re like two sides of the same coin. Dark and light. Good and bad. Don’t blame yourself for what he does. Try to control it instead. You say that he’s strong, right? I think you’ve got it backwards. You’re the stronger one. You’re the one in charge a lot of the time, yeah? You’re givin’ him too much credit. Even the smallest light can brighten the darkest of places. Find the light in the dark,” the teenager grew bolder with each statement, urging him to take the reins of his darker self. “Hold on to it. Use it to keep him away. Quit making yourself out to be the bad guy that you’re not.” Drawing in a breath, she calmed herself, settling back on the palms of her feet. Kaya may not have known him but for a few hours, but she always hated seeing others hurt or in pain of any sort. And it was clear that Raine was hurting himself far more than anyone else could have.
✸ OOC ✸ Loops inbound. lol Honestly, she's not one to yell and scream at people. She's really good at picking up on the more subtle things like his emotions, and calls 'em as she sees 'em.
Shrugging at Kaya, Raine smiled,"I dunno. Putting your guild mates against each other might be fun to watch,"he said nonchalantly. He rolled his eyes at the slayer. Didn't this girl know that there were many ways in which a situation could be looked at, "Kid, you're too innocent for your own good. There's always more than one way. At very least there's middle ground,"he told her, trying not to sound too degrading but probably failing. He wasn't one for teaching life lessons. He listened as Kaya told him about her dragon parents. A water dragon and a lunar dragon. It sounded like an interesting childhood to say the least. He imagined it would be quite something to learn magic from a real dragon. Her description reminded him of something he was sure he'd seen before."I'm pretty into my ancient myth books and I'm sure I read a legend about a moon dragon once. But she didn't sound the parental type. The one in the book was lost to insanity and violence. My kind of dragon,"he said, recalling the short story of the creature driven mad by the theft of her precious possessions. Then again, he supposed that a possession could refer to a child in a property sense. Raine quirked an eyebrow at Kaya's memory issues,"Did you hit your head or something?,"he asked, unsure of what kind of trauma would have to happen for someone to remember their parents but not where they were,"My guess would be they're in an Asian country. You don't look western to me and wherever you started, I assume that's where they are,"he said, unsure of what else he could say about finding them. He didn't really want to turn round and tell her that it was obvious they weren't coming for her. She was famous across America and no doubt around the rest of the world for being a slayer. If the dragons were actively looking for her, they would have found her by now. They were probably dead or in hiding, like the others."Well, if it makes you feel any better, you and I are in the same boat. No parents. My story's a bit different though. I was taken away when I was really young so I can't remember my parents at all. Not their faces, their voices, whether or not they even cared for me let alone loved me. Nothing. It's obvious you still care for yours. However, personally I couldn't give a s**t. No idea if they're alive or dead, don't care. I grew up in a world of fear and pain. Not a soul cared for me,"he stated, speaking with no emotion in his voice. He supposed it would be nice to live with something as powerful as a dragon protecting you but he had to protect himself. But it turns out that was his undoing in the end. The blood mage scoffed,"Why would Celeste be proud of me?"he asked. He'd been captured and left Sabertooth without its bodyguard. Raine narrowed his eyes at Kaya as she started her pep talk,"God, you fairies. Always a bright side with you. You're a bit off the mark though, I love inflicting pain on people deserving of it, but I don't like torturing, that's the difference,"he said with a vague smile, knowing that as an upholding member of a light guild she'd probably not particularly approve but be too polite to tell him he shouldn't enjoy it so much. She continued into the more deep and meaningful speech that was the signature move of a concerned Fairy Tail 'friend'. Unfortunately for her, it struck a nerve and even through the sedative, he glared at her."Oh, come off it, dragon slayer!"he snapped,"If I could control him don't you think he'd be long gone by now?! How stupid are you? He IS stronger because that's how I created him to be,"he shouted, shaking with rage. Not a hundred percent at Kaya, though. More at himself but he was definitely taking it out on her. His breath was ragged and his head spin for a moment, the sedative and his heightened emotional state weren't mixing well. He took a moment to regain his thoughts. He hadn't meant to be so harsh. She didn't know him and he understood she was trying to help. He refused to apologise but instead would offer an explanation, making Kaya the fourth person to ever hear his story outside of a psychiatrist."When I was younger, instead of a home I had a concrete cell. One that was even more shut off that this one and in a similar circumstance. I was experimented on as a lab rat. Forced to suffer unimaginable pain both mentally and physically,"he began, not phased by his recollection thus far,"The very root of Blood Raine's existence is down to the intense periods of isolation I was placed in. At first he was something of an imaginary friend but eventually he became like a guardian. He protected me, stood strong for me when the real me was on the brink of death and pulled me back. It took a toll on my sanity which I've never recovered from but he kept me alive."Raine's eyes had started to glaze over, lost in a distance recollection of his early life."He and I developed my magic together. Unfortunately, he also developed a bloodlust alongside it and became the terror he is today. No longer a friend. He still thinks he's protecting me but I'm never sure from what. I lost a lot of blood during my fight with Kimura and that was down to him pushing me past my limit, but stayed within his."The blood mage was sure he couldn't make it any clearer that he wouldn't defeat his darkness. Only every hang in the balance and keep Blood Raine satisfied with his fortnightly killing sprees and careful monitoring of his temper,"I can't make this any clearer to you, Kaya,"he said, using her name in a more gentle tone,"You can't fix everyone with kind words of encouragement. Better you learn that now."He stared at the cold, hard floor. Octavia had wanted to make him feel better as well. That's why he'd gone with her to her apartment. Idiots. He didn't need their help.
OOC: I'm sorry he was mean!!! I hope mentioning the blood moon dragon legend was ok. If not, let me know and I'll change it

She scoffed, pinning him with a knowing look. He clearly didn’t realize just how rabid her friends could be. “Yeah, it’d be fun until they realized that I’ve MET you. Then not so much.” Their begging and pleading for her to get another poster for each of them would grow old real fast. She already felt exasperated merely imagining it. “Anyway,” the teenager shrugged her shoulders, pleased to find that the movement didn’t hurt as much. Raine tried to explain to her that there were multiple ways to look at something. That she was too naïve for thinking the way she did. “You can call me innocent or naïve or whatever, but it doesn’t change anything. I know there are a lot of ways of looking at things. I’m not talkin’ about other things though. What I’m saying is that good and bad have a pretty clear line between them, and you’re not over it. If anything, you sound like you’re a gray Jedi.” Kaya couldn’t think of another analogy to toss out at the man. The Star Wars reference coming the closest to what she perceived of him. A man whom aligned neither good nor bad yet worked towards justice. Honestly, even that sounded less than accurate to her.
Their topic of conversation flowed from one thing to the next. Eventually, they fell onto the subject of dragon parents. The girl revealed what she remembered of her time with Watatsumi and Yue. Her heart growing heavy with her fading memory and their absence. Part of her story seemed to spark something in Raine. “Hm,” she frowned at his recounting of the myth. Yue had never been violent or mean. She’d always been kind and caring, thoughtful and protective. “There’s no way that’s talking about my mother. She wouldn’t do anything like that.” Her words were fervent but not harsh in their denial. “She and ‘Tsumi were the best. I mean, they got in arguments sometimes, but they liked everyone and everything. The only time they’d hurt anyone is if they were threatened. And you’d have to be a dumbass to threaten a dragon.” No, the myth had to be speaking of some other moon dragon. Maybe one of the lesser lunar dragons whom fell into darkness. “What?” Kaya blinked back at him. Did I hit my head? It was a question about her past and her memories. “No,” she responded, furrowing her brows. “Well, maybe, I don’t remember. All I remember is that I was with them one day and something happened. The next thing I remember, I wake up in Nippon in a hospital room, with John watching over me. We tried looking for ‘Tsumi and Yue but I couldn’t track them.” She chewed lightly on her bottom lip as she poured over those days, back when she was nine years-old. It was a time of happiness and sadness for her. While she hadn’t been able to find her parents, John had promised her a fun and new life in Fairy Tail, and she ended up finding Yuki as well.
Her pensive frown took on a darker mood. Raine’s description of his childhood sounded horrifying. To have no one to love and care for him, to keep him safe, no child should have to go through that. It sent chills down her spine; although, they weren’t entirely due to his tale. There was more to it than that. A vague feeling of familiarity to her. An emotion she couldn’t quite place yet recognized all the same. “Why?” She breathed out, unable to think of anything else to say. Darkness had overtaken the Sabertooth mage’s childhood. That much was painfully obvious. But why? Who would want to do such things to another human, let alone a child? Evil. Pure and unadulterated. Fumbling for a better toehold, she latched onto the mention of Celeste, Sabertooth’s Guild Master. “Why wouldn’t she be? As crappy as it is, you’re the one here, aren’t you? None of the others are. So, you did your job as Ace, right?” It was a stretch, and she knew it. Her assumption based solely on the fact that they were the only two present in the cells. And, based on what she’d overheard, they weren’t supposed to be. Whether or not Raine held a part in that was mute, in her opinion.
“But that’s still a big difference,” she sighed. The man was bound and determined to ostracize himself as a light mage. “I’ll say it again. You’re not torturing anyone or hurting INNOCENT people for the fun of it.” Kaya made sure to emphasize and stress the word “innocent.” He said it himself, he was hurting only those who deserved it. While she didn’t know how far he’d go, she couldn’t necessarily fault him for it. The Dragon Slayer continued along that train of thought, expressing her observation of Raine in the best way she knew how. Unfortunately, instead of taking it in the way she meant it, he snapped at her. She stood in stunned silence as he unloaded his rage and inner pain. She observed the way his body quaked. Noted the subtle alterations in his tone from one moment to the next. He fought to regain himself and properly explain. The chilling sensation from earlier crept along her spine again. “I’m not trying to fix you,” the raven-haired teenager spoke softly, breaking the tense silence that had fallen. “I’m not even saying get rid of him. He’s a part of you, and you’re a part of him. But—,” she hesitated a beat, “—isn’t that the point? Controlling your darkness doesn’t mean getting rid of it, ya know. It means that you accept it and learn to deal with it. All I’m hearing from you is how much stronger you’ve made him to be. So, get stronger! And quit acting like you’re already beaten by him. The more you give to him, the more he’ll take.” Kaya doubted he wanted to hear what she was spouting out. Heck, she wasn’t a psychiatrist or psychologist, and knew nothing about dealing with split personalities. But his defeatist attitude irked her to the core. Of course, Blood Raine was going to be stronger if he let him be. “Look,” she fidgeted, shifting her weight to become more comfortable. Her sharp blue orbs staring intently at the Blood mage. “I’m not tryin’ to tell you what to do. All I’m saying is that maybe you don’t give yourself enough credit when it comes to that battle of wills.” Kaya couldn’t state it any more plainly than that. If he didn’t want to accept it, then that was his prerogative to do so. Now who’s not looking at all the angles? The irony of the situation wasn’t lost on her in the least.
✸ OOC ✸ LOL Well, he is Raine! I wouldn't expect much less from him in that situation. XD Too bad for him that he's dealing with Kaya. hehe Mentioning the legend was perfect! It'll give her something to think back on later when her memory gets "restored." smile
◆ Thoughts: "I swear to god this fairy needs a smack."◆
spacI became insane...

Raine quirked an eyebrow at Kaya,"Clearly your fairy friends need to learn that just because you've met me, doesn't mean we're best buddies and I'll give you a million autographs to make them happy. Far from it. You and I are allies and that's as far as it goes. I don't do having friends,"he stated bluntly. This wasn't entirely true. He had one friend - Valor. Though he was no longer in the world of the living, so perhaps that meant he didn't have any after all. Not that it bothered him. He'd made it far enough on his own to know he didn't need anything more than acquaintances to get him through life."A Star Wars reference? I guess I'll take that,"he said with a tone of amusement. Raine had never felt jealousy towards someone who spoke fondly of their parents. He'd always shut off when Octavia started to talk about her family and not many of the other Sabertooth members brought the subject up. Ymir's family was gone; burned to death, as were Valor's; assassinated, Selma was in the same boat as Kaya with not knowing where her dragon was. A lot of light guild wizards were from broken families. It was a miracle some of them turned out so well with the trauma they'd been through. However, he felt the tiniest pang of sadness for the water dragon slayer. Not because he had empathy for her but more because it must suck not to be missing a chunk of your memory and not even know what happened. Granted he didn't remember his parents but that was an age thing."I'm sorry you have to deal with that,"he said, trying to sound as sincere as possible. His voice never paired well with sympathy,"You never know. Maybe you were the stolen possession,"he shrugged. Suddenly aware that he'd made it sound like Kaya would be responsible for her dragon mother's madness he quickly fixed it,"I mean, if someone stole you and wiped your memory, they would have been the cause of her insanity, right?" Raine noted the horror-tainted expression on Kaya's face upon hearing of his pain-filled childhood."Don't look at me like that. I can do without the pity, thank you,"he frowned. Her question of why rendered him surprised. No one had ever actually asked him why it was done to him. They'd theorised and given him apologies and pity, but daren't ever ask him personally why he'd been subject to such awful things."I don't remember what the end game was for the first set of scientists. All I know is I was suffering for someone else's sins. It was only when my personality split that I was moved to a facility that wanted to test the capacity of the mind of someone who wasn't sound. I was part of a flock of mentally unstable children. They used me to answer seemingly any random question they could come up with on the spot. Could I learn an extensive amount of information with one side or would I need to tap into the other Raine in order to facilitate it? Could I survive extensive physical strain without needing to rely on him to keep me alive? Would verbally and physically abusive actions towards the more 'human' side of me bring the volatile side of me into a more calm state? Could they hurt me so much that the other Raine would become the dominant personality? Each time they concluded one of them, they added another. As long as I was alive they could continue using me like a lab rat."The blood mage stayed quiet for a moment before a burst of laughter erupted,"I got the last laugh in the end though,"he said,"They didn't stand a chance once I escaped. I made sure to paint that lab red before I snuck out. We were careful not to show anyone how well we could control our magic. They only found out when they found their arms torn from their body."Raine's usual gruff tone had been replaced with voice that sounded like liquid gold. Whilst his words where filled with violence and the joy in his memory was obvious, it came out of his mouth as if he were reciting poetry,"Don't get me wrong, we suffered a lot but I think that just made it that little bit more satisfying. I don't think those scientists ever imagined they'd meet their end at the hands of a seven-year old,"he chuckled menacingly. He could remember the scream of the first man he'd ever killed. Sure a few guards had lost fingers, perhaps a hand on one occasion when they put food through the slot in the metal door of his cell, but until then he'd never felt the thrill of turning a person into nothing more than a pile of unrecognisable blood and guts. He shifted uncomfortably in his magic chains and shut his eyes tightly, panting and straining to regain control of himself. Sweat ran down his forehead from the stress of pushing Blood Raine back down. He breathed shakily and shook his head."Didn't you hear that guy? It would be easy for him to go after everyone else now. Ymir isn't at the guild and Andrea won't have fully recovered from the fight we had against one of their experiments. If he wanted to grab Octavia or anyone else, he could. That's because I'm not there,"he said, trying not to imagine what would happen to the celestial wizard to achieve Ciaran's version of 'worse for wear' before throwing her in with him. He growled quietly,"You're grinding my nerves, kid. Don't you think I know all of this? I do deal with it. Sixteen years he and I have been together. I never have and never will let him be the dominant one but he is stronger. Same way that a water dragon slayer is stronger than a water wizard. With the way he and I work, he was always going to be. He's less careful so he's more dangerous and more willing to let loose without worry of consequence. That's why he did better against Kimura than I did." He stared at Kaya,"Anyone ever tell you you're annoyingly stubborn?"he asked with no hint that he was teasing or being funny. He was outright finding the fairy to be someone he'd want to kick in a normal situation,"You're as bad as...,"he stopped. She was as bad as Octavia. He didn't want to think about her,"If you're not trying to fix me then don't act like you are. Keep your uneducated opinions about me to yourself. You may know more than most people now but you don't know me. I'm just fine. I may hate myself but I'm ok with that."He sighed. Part of him felt like he was being unnecessarily rude. He had no doubt the fairy would likely continue her pathetically heartfelt onslaught of kind words but he was sure part of her did it to aggravate him more.
