Well at least the lights don't work in this rust bucket.
Daniel looked back the way he had come to get into his spot up in the old iron rafters. A precarious journey it would have been without his ability considering the gap between them he'd have needed a running start to make it...not something you get when your hanging and making due with limited space.
Talk about a cat stuck in a tree.
He shook the thought away and focused back on the slavers. One had started walking toward the two guy's he'd followed down here while the other one held on to their 'prize'. They can have him, the no good slaver busy with their goods...mine.
He moved along the ceiling like a spider as tendrils extended out until he was above the second man holding the kid. Like a whisper he dropped down behind him the darkness easing his descent in the form of a rope-like shape. The rope released Daniel and attached itself to the slumped form to keep it from falling. Smoothly he reached out toward the back of the guy's neck, his hand curled to look like a C. Two blades formed along the curve of his hand and extended out to rest on either side of the mans neck, pressing against the man's skin. As the blade would touch the man, Daniel smiled and made his voice as deep and gruff as possible. “Do you feel lucky?.”

Upon feeling the blade pressing across his throat he stiffened. "Who are you?" he asked as he gulped wondering how this individual had been able to sneak behind him.
The other individual went and closed the door. After returning he was heading back. "So like I was saying, if we get enough of these people, we can really roll in the dough. Am I right?" he asked. When his partner didn't answer he asked again. "Right?" he repeated. "Hey man are you listening?"
Alex crouched in the shadows of the crates as the man passed. He wanted to get a little closer to get a look at the individual and see if he and James could somehow save the person.
"Yo, Stice. Man are you deaf or what?" he asked as he got closer and noticed that there seemed to be something wrong. Because of the darkness he could not quite see but there seemed to be an additional head by his partner. "What's going on man?"

((Need to make it a little clearer which character you are talking about. I was able to figure it out, but just referring to everybody as "he" can make things a little bit confused.))
James stayed where he was, staying as still as he was able. He took slow, shallow, breaths so that his breathing would not be heard.
Crap. Now it looks like there's another one. Unless one of them is a Touched I'm sure I can take them. But can I do it without using my ability is the question? I'd rather not show Alex what I am if I can. But without my ability he'll have to get into the mix too, and I have no idea how capable of a fighter he is...
James waited, and listened, and watched.

When Stice did not answer him, the first kidnapper began to wonder what was going on. Finally when he had moved close enough, Stice shouted out. "We got company." he yelled. "Jasper, call for backup." he yelled.
Jasper pulled a flashlight from within his vest and aimed it at Stice and saw the strange individual behind him. Pulling out his walkie talkie he was about to call for help when suddenly something grabbed his wrist. "Oww," he yelped as he felt the object yanked from his hand. He could make out a shadow in front of him and heard his transmitter being crushed. Aiming his flashlight he found himself face to face with Alex who was still holding his arm. "Let me go you piece of $#@!" he yelled as he brought his flashlight across the side of Alex's head. There was a loud crunch and the light went out.
In the darkness Jasper's heavy breathing could be heard as fear crept into him. Despite hitting him hard enough to break the flashlight, he felt no release from Alex's grip. Now it was his turn to be dragged as Alex began to move toward Stice from within the darkness.
Stice could hear his partner struggling and saw the large shadow grow larger as it approached him. There was still the knife close to his throat, but he still had the hostage. Pulling out one of his knives he held it to the boy's next. "I'll kill him. I swear I will. Stop where you are." he commanded. He then turned to Daniel. "Put the knife down or he's going to have a new breathing hole!" Alex stopped where he was. Stice growing more cofident commanded Alex to release Jasper. Having no choice he did so. He waited for Daniel to put his knife down and a small smirk grew on his face.
"So are you really waiting for me to put this knife in his neck?" he asked as Jasper also pulled out a knife of his own.
"Do as he says." Jasper states feeling they were back in control.

s**t. James though as he heard the commotion and the yelling. It sounded like Alex had steppe din recklessly and now they were threatening to hurt the kid. James sighed.
Nothing for it then.
He glanced up and saw rafters above him. With a thought he teleported up among them from there he had a better vantage and was able to get a look at what was going on. The light was poor, but he could just barely make out the shape of one thug being help by a large form. That had to be Alex. A little ways further into the warehouse he could see another shape that looked like it might be two people close together. He thought that that might be another of the thugs and the kid, if the thug was holding the kid close so as to slash his throat.
If nothing else I can break up this little gathering.
James teleported down behind the shape that he assumed to be the thug that was threatening to hurt the kid. He placed his hand against the man's back and sent him. Up into the rafters. From here James could hear the whimpering of the boy and knew he had made the right assumption. James stepped closer and touched the boy and teleported both of them straight up, onto the roof of the building.
"Hey, kid, don't panic. You're safe now. Stay here. If I'm not back in ten minutes try to find a way down and get away from here. Quietly." James said.
James then teleported himself back into the warehouse, atop a stack of crates he had noticed earlier, in a low crouch so as not to be seen in the gloom.

When the flashlight's light shone on him the shadows covering his face began to dissolve away and he had been worried about the blades at the thug Stice's neck, but in a moment the light was gone and in the next he watched James appeared next to him and then Stice disappeared followed by James and the kid. Only the big man, whom he could only assume was the other guy James' had been with, and the thug Jasper stood in front of Daniel.
Daniel stepped forward toward Jasper as the shadows would begin to form on him taking shape into a single blob, hardening it around Jasper's body turning everything except his head into a shadowy statue.
“Threating kids...” He spat. “This is going to hurt.” The blades disappeared from his hand as a baseball bat formed. Daniel grabbed it with both hands and swung it against Jasper's head, there would be a cracking sound that would knock the Jasper statue over, but it wouldn't break. Jasper however was unconscious and bleeding from the side of his head. “You're out...”
He held the bat in his hands, looking up for a brief moment to see that Stice was hanging around. Then he glanced at the metallic looking man. “Hope you don't mind an extra hand big guy.” Looking over at James he decided he wouldn't address him by that name, but until he knew otherwise he'd address him with an appropriate nickname. “Hey Nightcrawler, where'd you put the kid?”

James immediately caught the reference and smirked a little.
Not too far off.
"He's stargazing." James said, still not sure if he should trust this person. "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
Having noticed the man's ability to create objects out of shadow, and still not knowing his inclination towards them James decided it might be in his best interest to not be standing directly where the man would have heard his voice coming from. James scanned the area and saw a collection of barrels standing near one wall. He teleported behind them, putting them between himself and this mysterious person, appearing so that he was facing towards the shadow man and Alex.

Alex remained still as Jasper wiggled his way out of Alex's grip. He held his hand painfully and wondered how this man's grip was so strong. Stice could see the smaller shadow who he assumed was Jasper approach. He was starting to grow more confident when suddenly he found himself not on the ground but on the rafters. Losing his balance he fell, but managed to grab the beam. "What the...what's going on?" he shouted as he hung on.
Jasper blinking and noticing that his partner was no longer in front of him turned to the shouting. Seeing Stice hanging from the rafters he wondered how he had gotten up there. Suddenly he felt something crawling up his legs and body. Alex watched as Jasper was beginning to be covered in shadow. What puzzled him was that it was moving on its own. Starting to panic Jasper tried to move but eventually was rendered motionless. The last thing he heard was Daniel's voice and then darkness.
Alex looked at Daniel who spoke to him. "Not at all. Thanks." he replied looking down at the unconscious figure on the ground. "I'm going to assume that was your doing with the shadows." he said. He turned to face where Daniel was speaking and saw James not to far off. He listened as the two began speaking. "Yes, I'd like to know as well." he said not knowing who this individual was. Daniel helped them take care of the thugs so Alex was sure he was not with the thugs. When Daniel asked James where he had put the boy and he said 'stargazing' Alex raised a confused eyebrow. "Wait what?" he asked no knowing what had just happened.

They don't need to know I followed them here. He smirked. “I'm a big d*mn hero, but I guess you two are as well. It was my party you crashed and I'm here to do exactly what I did...kick the bad guy's arses.” He chuckled and looked to the big man, “The shadows are mine and if you like you guys can call me Shadowman. The more important question is what to do next. Me I got some questions for Stice up there while he isn't going anywhere and the kid needs to be taken home.”
The bat disappeared and the shadows began to pool under him, pushing him up toward the ceiling as more and more darkness was added to the column as it formed. “By the way, what should I call you guy's or will it be Nightcrawler and Colossus?”

"Shadowman, huh?" James said with a smirk. "A little on the nose, don't you think? You can call me Fort. And you can have the thug. I"ll make sure the kid gets home."
James teleported over to next to the big shape that he was sure now was Alex and laid his hand on his arm. It was only now that he was so close that he noticed, in the darkness, that Alex's body was coated in metal. James was shocked for a moment and then just shook his head.
Go figure. I'm worried about him finding out about me being a Touched, and he's one too.
"Ready there, big guy?"

"Shadowman huh? Well, you can call me Brig." he said when James introduced himself as Fort. What surprised him further was when Fort teleported next to him. He noticed the twitch when Fort noticed his skin change. Well it seemed their secret was not going to be too much trouble considering they were all "Touched".
Fort stated that they were going to take the kid home so he nodded when asked. "Ready." he said.
As Daniel approached the man who was hanging Stice felt himself being pushed up to the rafters. Hanging on with his hands and legs to the support pole he saw as Daniel appeared next to him. "What the $#@! are you?" he nearly shouted.

"I'm your worst nightmare Stice...and your going to tell me everything I want to know." He stopped raising once he was eye level with the thug.
Daniel looked back down towards Fort and Brig. "You guys be safe now." He chuckled a little. "Oh, before you go,I'm going to get some information out of our friend here...see if I can't rustle up some more slavers and general scum of the Earth. You guys are welcome to tag along once I'm done here if you'd like."

((Hey guys, I'm really sorry for this, but I'm going to be out for the next month and a half or so due to school, studies and tests. I'm having to cut back on a lot of things to keep RL in balance so you are welcome to continue with the story if you like. I hate to do this, but I have a lot of things on my plate right now. Once things are back in order, I'll be sure to let you know. Thanks for joining my thread and I'm sorry for bailing so suddenly.))

((I doubt we'll get super far in story in a month anyways. So we'll just say that Alex caught a cold. That should be a suitable excuse to keep him out of the action short term in story.))
"Not tonight, Shadowman. But you know where to find us." James said back to him.
James then concentrated very briefly and teleported himself and Brig up onto the roof. The two of them found the boy and James used his ability to, with a series of jumps, teleport them back to St. Mary's Shelter.
((From here I'm assuming that Alex will stay at the shelter since he has nowhere else to go at the moment. James will take the kid home and then go home himself. You can continue your interrogation but otherwise I'm set to go for next morning. Since Kurisutan is going awol on us we'll have to take over NPCs and story in his absence.))

((RL is more important Kurisutan so no worries. And I'll wrap this up quick so we can move on to the next morning.))
After the two of them disappeared he turned back to Stice. “Tell me where I can find your friends.”
“I can't do that man c'mon.” Stice was nervous and holding on like his life depended on it, because it did. The shadows started to cling to him he noticed as his fingers disappeared and he could feel the substance covering his whole body up to the bottom of his chin and then it hardened like a rock, he couldn't move. “S**t man I'm serious, they'd kill me.”
Daniel reached down and started to peel back on of Stice's fingers, there wasn't anything he could do about it. “And what do you think will happen if you don't.” The shadows grew longer and the light was blotted out from the warehouse as the interrogation began.
Several minutes and what felt like several lifetimes to Stice later. They stood on the floor of the warehouse, Stice still wrapped up.
“Thank you for your compliance.” A sleek black baseball bat appeared in his hand.
“Aw...c'mon man, you don't need to do that.”
“Yes I do. Now, after you wake up I suggest you and your buddy seek medical treatment and reconsider your line of work, because if I see you again with this crowd I'll make you holier than a priest.” With that he walked out and went back to the St. Mary's Shelter to plan out tomorrow night.
