 I am the Light of this World
The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~  Voices? Hikari hesitated for a moment, but then nodded slowly. "Everytime I sing, it's like it's echoing from somewhere but I don't know... I can't control it... no... I can't stop it..." She answered quietly so only Gannon could hear. Her hands grasped her knees tightly. "I really am defective, aren't I...?" She stared down at the ground. "Why?" A couple of tears fell and she turned to look up at Gannon again, a look of sadness and confusion on her face. "Why is it like this? I'm just the same as everyone else, right? So why? Why are they hunting me like some dangerous animal?" Her shoulders trembled as she tried to keep herself from weeping. And why was I forced into downloading and singing that awful Hymn of death? I love the Goddess! I never wanted this to happen! And yet I... She closed her eyes and more tears fell.My Song is a Shining Light

  Noaah couldn't help but let out a soft sigh of fatigue when Rhaplanca asked him to sing some more. "That was my only hymmne... I'm sorry." he said, a bit embarassed that he was still so weak. He really needed someone to dive into him and unlock the magic inside of his heart. He knew that if he could trust someone enough to do it, then he'd become powerful enough to help those he loved...
At first, he thought it was a blessing that Hikari had unleashed so a torrential amount of magic, destroying every A.B.R. unit in the area. He was glad for all of these people being here, since they probably would have lost just Ishira, Rhaplanca and himself, but on the other hand, there was more sides to their story now, and it was getting very confusing. Noaah moved a bit closer to the now regrouping people, trying to fit himself inside the group somewhere. He listened attentively to people speaking, noticing that Hikari seemed to be in pain, holding her head and speaking softly. He didn't know about her, but when his eyes glanced at Gannon, he instantly felt a surge of heat inside of him, lighting him up with anger.
He didn't like that man. No, he didn't like him one bit... And that whole thing with Vegna... Noaah let out a muffled sigh, putting a hand to his face as he held it there, shaking his head. How could Vegna be so blind? Didn't he know that if they destroyed the Goddess, the tower would fall, and with it, everything else as well? He almost seemed to be enjoying that fact... It made Noaah sick. But even though his attitude was unforgiveable, Noaah couldn't help but want to be with Vegna anyways. Afterall, he was the first person he'd met, other then the scientists, and those shadowy figures in his memories from a time long ago. Noaah stayed silent, looking at a few people, until he went over to Rhaplanca, touching her shoulder lightly. "W-What's... what's happening now?" he asked, looking back at the multiple people standing before him.

Gannon… 
Gannon nodded to himself as if he had expected to hear that. "Defective? How so? Do you realize that the reason they were after you is because they're afraid of you. You have a power inside you that they want for themselves. Do you understand? Yes, you are different from some other Reyvateils, but that doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with you. I don't know how yet, but I'll prove it. Okay?" It had been quite a while since he had comforted anyone. The feeling was so alien to him, yet at the same time, it brought back fond memories.

"My, my, how touching," a sultry voice called out. "Hello, Gannon, it's been awhile, hasn't it? It appears we once again have something in common. I have something you want," she nodded and two soldiers stepped out, with a struggling Melody in tow, "and you have something that I want." She nodded in Hikari's direction. "That girl there is the missing F.P.D. Weapon that we've been searching so long and hard for. Would you be so kind as to turn her over? We wouldn't want any harm to come to her after all, isn't that right?" The attractive red headed woman turned her eyes from Melody and fixed them on Hikari once again. "You've caused us enough grief, you little brat. Don't worry about your little friends. They will be all right once you're gone. Trust me, they'll be better off without you anyway. A weapon such as yourself has no business making friends. It isn't necessary." Naomi crossed her arms. "Do we have any objections."
"Gannon!" Melody shouted as she struggled. "Don't do it!"

Please, she's a very good person, and I don't want her to suffer because of me... I couldn't bear to have anyone I care about suffer because of me..." Before Gannon or Miko or Mana could move, Hikari had run out halfway, allowing the soldiers to take her. She glanced back sadly at her newfound friends. "I'm sorry for involving you all in this... Miko, Mana... Gannon. Rhaplanca, I don't think I'll be able to keep my promise after all... I'm really sorry..." No matter what they do to me, I won't sing. I can't sing, not if it's going to kill the Goddess and destroy the world! She glared up at the red head defiantly. "Fine, you have me. Let Melody go!" Hikari pleaded.My Song is a Shining Light

"Now we have the Weapon," Naomi said. "Release the girl."
On her cue, the soldiers released her and pushed her forward. "Wait, no!" Melody protested.
Naomi stopped and smirked. "I really should have you killed right now, shouldn't I, Gannon? You are on our wanted list, after all. But you've been so useful in helping us locate the Weapon both times. Of course, the last time, that Weapon was a bit outdated, so we had to scrap it, didn't we? But I'd have to say we found a much better model this time around. We'll be sure to use it to its fullest potential, this one." The woman snapped her fingers. "Take her away and load her onto the ship. Prepare her for the Hymn! We want everything ready by the time Lady Nelia is found." She turned her back on the group, not worried in the slightest about retaliation. After all, more than a few dozen soldiers had weapons aimed at them. After the Reyvateil was dragged into the flying vehicle, she paused before following. "Well done, Noaah, you've accomplished your mission. You may rendevous with Vegna whenever you like. As for the rest of you, I don't expect to see any of you again. Once we fully activate our Weapon, this place will fall, dragging all of you down with it." Then she entered the cloaked ship herself. No sooner did she enter when it took off the ground.

Gannon…
The Teru felt as if his blood had turned to ice when he heard the woman's voice. "YOU! I'm gonna tear out your black heart!" Before he could move, they brought Melody into view. How the hell had they caught her!? Gannon was helpless to act. Not with so many of their troops aiming at them. He'd be gunned down in a heartbeat. So, he stood there in silence, trying to work out a way to get to Melody and get all of them the hell out of there. And then Hikari decided to take things into her own hands. He could only watch helplessly as the Reyvateil ran into the arms of their enemies. I won't let it end like this... I won't! he stepped forward and took hold of his old friend, making sure to step slightly in front of her in case something happened.
Gannon was about to speak up, but was cut off by the red-headed woman. At the sound of her words, he almost lost it. How DARE she! Before the woman could enter the ship, Gannon called out to her. "Listen to me, you worthless animal! I'll find you! I promise you, I won't stop until I rip out your throat! Do you hear me!?" But it was too late. The ship had begun raising into the air. Gannon's vision began to blur, he had never felt rage like what he felt at that moment. It took everything he had to restrain himself from launching himself at the retreating ship. The only thing that kept him from attacking was the knowledge that Hikari was on that ship. And what does it matter to you? You've known her for less than a day, and this was the woman who was responsible for her death! Why are you hesitating!? Gannon knew why. Though, he'd only known Hikari for a short while, he could see a spark inside her. A spark he had only seen in one other during his entire life. And he couldn't bring himself to let that spark be extinguished again... His body felt weak, and he had trouble supporting himself. Before he knew it, he had fallen down on his knees, a tremble spreading through his body. A loud roar of frustration and anger, of sadness and regret erupted from the Teru. His fist slammed into the hard ground over and over. The skin on his hand split and blood flowed. Gannon felt none of it.
After what seemed like hours, but was probably only a handful of minutes, Gannon seemed to calm down. A few more moments, and he felt in control of himself enough to speak. "I know where they've taken her... I'm going. Alone. You'll all just slow me down." His voice was cold. Colder than the ice he commanded in battle. He was going to get Hikari and kill Naomi. That was all there was to it. His honor would accept nothing less.

Mana~
It all had happened so quickly that the half-ling's head spun. She had been exhausted from the fight, and she was pretty sure that her twin had been as well. As they sat there recovering, somehow the enemy had managed to surround them, and had used Melody as leverage to gain custody of Hikari. "Hikari, wait, don't-!" Mana shouted after her friend. But she was cut off by Hikari's sad gaze. After everything... she accepts this...? No, that can't be right! Mana gritted her teeth and gave the red headed woman a death stare. If she recalled, that was the same woman who had sent her on the mission of protecting Shion, only to have her taken away and trapped in the end. "You little..." And when she spoke to Gannon, from his reaction, Mana realized that he might actually hate the woman more than she did. And then, they took Hikari away, leaving the two groups alone.
When Gannon announced coldly that he was leaving alone, and that they would only slow him down, Mana walked past him coolly. "Well, if you're really worried about us slowing you down, you'd better keep up with me," she warned. They had taken Shion away back when Mana was young and naive, and she had allowed it. She was sure that Shion was dead. However, there was still a chance that Hikari was alive. And Mana wasn't going to stand by idly and repeat her past mistakes. She paused a moment and called back to her sister. "Miko, stay here with Ishira. It's too dangerous for you. We'll be back soon." Then she took off running.

Once they had taken off, Naomi took a seat in front of the Reyvateil. The girl in front of her had been shackled to her own seat, and two soldiers stood behind her with their weapons on her, making sure that she wouldn't try using any song magic. "You should have known better than to try and escape. I was so worried that something had happened to you. As you know, it's not every day a Reyvateil with your potential turns up. At such a young age you had such a perfect level of infection, and your powers had manifested. You also have the Hymn Calamity downloaded. Do you see why we simply cannot let you go? You are, in all rights, only a weapon. Once you have fulfilled your purpose, then you can be freed."

If so, you would have kept your promise the first time. I sang, just like you asked. You promised me, you promised everyone else that we would go free after the Hymn was finished. You lied then, and you're lying to me now! That's why I know I can never trust anything you say." Tears rolled down Hikari's cheeks. "You never even told any of us the truth! You planned to use the Hymn to destroy the Goddess! You used us to kill the Goddess... You have me, but I'm not going to sing that Hymn. Never!" | Noaah's eyes opened slightly, as the liquid around him bubbled. They'd connected a thick wire to his Install Port, downloading, uploading and viewing information, inserting data and extracting data from his body like a simple computer chip. He couldn't move, and he couldn't speak, he could only float in that glass tube, as scientists crowded around the glass, looking at his body in awe, witnessing the first male Reyvateil. This was in the C.G.P. Corp. laboratories.
This had happened to him many times, were he faded in and out of conciousness, sometimes voluntarily, other times he was forced because of the constant installation of information into his body. He had had time to recognize some of the faces, but on this particular day, a new one was standing near the glass. A woman, with long red hair, a graceful and slightly seductive body, her clothes different then that of the usual scientists. She was in a conversation with the head researcher, who kept calling her 'Naomi'... That was when he drifted back into unconciousness |
It was only now that he realized this was the same woman. So she was part of C.G.P. too? Then she was an enemy... Noaah took a step forward, trying to stop her, when she spoke, and her words stabbed him through the heart. I've accomplished... my mission. Almost as quickly as the pain came, it vanished, his expression becoming fierce as he yelled at the woman. "I am no longer part of C.G.P.!! I refuse to follow the rules of those who harm others to get what they want!! Hikari! Hikari, we'll find you...!!" he shouted, watching as she was carried away, helpless to do anything to save her.
Noaah felt his heart sink as he replayed the females words in his head. He belonged to the C.G.P.... by accepting all of this, and just going back to meet Vegna, his life would be so much easier: he would be able to be with his partner, and no one would attack or harm him because he'd fulfilled his mission. But then he heard the voices of the familiar people around them, glanced at their confident and determined expressions. These people... They had accepted him, even if he was an abomination, and even if he was part of C.G.P. They didnt deserve to die...
"Rhaplanca, Ishira..." he said, looking at them. Gannon and Mana had already left. "We need to do something... We can't just let them leave like that. They don't have a Reyvateil to back them up, they will be slaughtered! Rhaplanca... you and I are the only ones capable of singing here..." His eyes were beginning to get a bit teary, but he quickly closed them, taking a hold of his emotions. "One of us... will have to accompany them. Unless, we run after them together? The bigger the group the better..."

"The fate of those friends of yours might change your mind, Hikari. You see, I have a feeling that they will come. Especially that young man you were with. Oh, but of course not for you. Let me tell you a story about your newfound friend, Gannon. You see, a long time ago, a girl like you escaped much like you did. She was an irreplaceable weapon, just as you are now. She met the boy, and the two became close friends. We finally caught up with the two of them, but by then we had found someone better suited to be the Weapon: you." The woman smiled coolly. "There can only be one living Reyvateil capable of powering the Weapon, and so, in order to make you the Controller, she had to die. So, don't you see? Your very existance has hurt the ones you call friends. Which is why, as the F.P.D. Weapon, it was foolish to try and form ties with others, only to have them be broken." The woman adjusted her glasses and leaned in. "You've already caused so much pain to your friends. If you were to sing that Hymn, then they wouldn't have to die." From the look on the Reyvateil's face, it appeared that Naomi's words had had the desired effect. Hook, line, and sinker.

Melody stood there frozen, watching the scene. When they had taken her away, she snapped out of her stupor when Gannon had started slamming his fist into the ground. "G-Gannon, you can't be serious! You'll die if you go in there alone! Especially without a Reyvateil's song magic. Mana, you too. You both cannot possibly go alone!"

Gannon…
Gannon only paused to respond to Melody. After all these years, he owed her at least that much. "I've never needed song magic before." He turned to face her but there was something different about him. He was done running. He'd been looking over his shoulder, always wondering when death was coming so he could never even live his life. "Besides," He said with a smile.
"I won't be alone." There was something about the way he said it that suggested that he wasn't speaking about Mana. With that, he changed forms once more and took to the skies.

"I'm not sure," she said as she turned her head to him with a light smile, "I had really hoped for our groups to join together, but that depends on our groups agreeing unanimously," she frowned thinking of Gannon, "I realize that my offer is selfish of my own mission, but no doubt that the increase in number and Reyvateils would benefit us both," she pointed out.
