Edlyre watched the group work. They were much better than he had initially anticipated. Each had their own unique abilities, but all shared the same goal and it was to defeat these abominations. He stood nearby, but hidden from the fiend's vision hoping to catch it off guard when the time came for him to seal it. Reaching into his pouch, he pulled out a stone disk etched with runes. He waited for the right time to charge the stone with his aura to activate it's sealing properties.

Once one of the wolf bodies fell and the fiend's spirit tried to break loose he charged his aura into his scepter causing a beam of purple light to shoot from the stone onto the fiend. Caught in the energy web, the fiend struggled to break free. Charging the disk, he threw it a short distance between them. The disk emitted a cone of light as if opening a doorway pulling the fiend into it. One down.

Jeeves squealed audibly as the manlike wolf revealed itself. She smiled ear to ear as she watched the creatures in action. She was going to be busy for days dissecting and cataloging these fiends. She tsked as Raegar once again stepped into her line of fire. Ah well. She'd get a better idea of the man-wolf by observing its movements and attacks.

After much travel on foot Fidessa heard howling and many unusual sounds in the distance, which helped lead her to a farm where a battle had broken out. Without any hesitation or thought for that matter, Fidessa calmly entered the clearing where her fellow Hunters and Guardians were already engaged in combat with a group of fiends.
“Ahh, so this is where you guys are. I was looking all over for you.” Fidessa said aloud while waving the sheathed sword above her in greetings towards the group.

Blada stayed hidden behind the trees, watching as the hunters clashed with the fiends in the wide open clearing. She was a bit too far away to get a clear visual of the battle’s details, but it certainly looked like the fiends were no match for the brave fighters. Blada had never seen this many fiends grouped together at once, so she didn’t entirely know what to have expected from this encounter.

She made sure to keep a close eye on the large man named Raegar, remembering the way he stood over her like a massive demon who could destroy anything that got in his way. She remembered his taunting all too well, like it was the freshest thing on her mind. It was starting to seem as though his almighty, untouchable demeanor was quite justified, as she watched him effortlessly slay the beasts.

The other woman from earlier, named Fidessa, approached the group of hunters from the trees as the action appeared to die down. Blada was surprised she had not noticed her sooner. Had she come from the same direction? Blada continued to watch the hunters, wondering when she should make her presence known. She hadn’t entirely decided what she would say to the hunters, but she definitely needed a word with them, in light of recent events involving Darkan and her father.

(Okay so from what I've seen the fight stands as one wolf left by Roger and Dimitri with both of the ones they killed sealed by Roger. One of the three wolves by Kolo is down and sealed by Edlyre. And there is the big one on Raegar.) The last wolf turned from Roger and Dimitri and bound off for where the human like wolf had come out of the forest, firing spines wildly in its wake. The two wolves that had passed Kolo turned, blood trailing them from the wounds they bore on their flanks from the Auroch's horns. Kolo came to a stop as they came at her and turned, her head low as one came in. This time Kolo's horn struck home on the wolf, piercing the flesh under its neck. The second wolf turned and bound off, charging at Raegar's back. Kolo lifted the wolf from the ground as it struggled to free itself, blood pouring from the wound. The Auroch jerked its head and slammed it to the ground, turning her body as it dragged the wolf in circles until the last bit of life left it. As Raegar charged, the man-like wolf raised its spear and hurled it at the massive warrior. Raegar twisted in his charge to avoid it even while he reached and caught it. He spun, continuing his pace, and brought it to bare hurling it back at the beast. It moved to avoid the attack, but the tip dug across the side of its face as the spear flew past. Then Raegar was on it, bringing shoulder down to strike its gut. The big man lifted it from the ground, carrying it a few steps before he slammed it down into the dirt. The beast let out a pained growl as ribs broke under the weight of the blow. Raegar moved to sit astride its massive chest even as it clawed at the giant of man. Raegar batted away several of the blows as his shovel like hand grasped the wolf's throat so it couldn't raise its maw to bite at him. It in turn struck at Raegar's throat, but the big man brought his head down so it could only strike against his head. Raegar's head jerked under the blows, but he seemed unfazed. With his free hand he grabbed one of the beast's arms and forced it to the ground as he sank his own teeth into the hide of the wolf's neck. It let out another pained snarl as Raegar ripped his head from the beast, tearing a large chunk of flesh, and spit it aside as blood sprayed from the wound. The man released its arm only to strike it across the maw. His fist struck like a hammer blow and he hit the beast again and again as it struggled to get out from under him.

Roger started to move after the remaining "wolf" as it darted away but it was already to far away and moving too quickly. Roger reached into his jacket again and pulled out a rather stained square of heavy cloth. He then drew one of his sabers out from the ground where he had stuck it while performing his sealing and wiped the blade off with the cloth. He swapped the cloth to the other hand and repeated the process with the other blade.
Roger and Dimitri began walking towards where Jeeves and Edlyre were with the carriage(Wagon? Carriage? I forget...) and the horses. Dimitri paused to pick up Raegar's axe from where he had dropped it.
"Raegar, quit playing with him and put him down already. Here, catch." Dimitri said and then swung his arm underhand and sent the axe spinning through the air on a course to land just next to Raegar's right side.

Raegar's fist came down again, the wolf's jaw breaking under the last blow, and turn to look toward Dimitri having heard him. Blood dripped from Raegar's face, and he reached deftly catching his ax as it neared the end of its arch. Then with a roar, that sounded more beast than man, he brought it up and struck down as the beasts head cleaving it in two. Immediately after he swung the ax back as he twisted and hurled it behind him at the wolf he'd glanced was charging him. The ax spun through the air, and split open the wolf's neck and chest as it had begun turning to avoid the throw.

Fidessa approached Roger, Dimitri, and Jeeves with a slight grin on her face. "I found what I was looking for. Looks like you guys had some fun too." She said while lifting her sheath over her shoulder and let it rest behind her neck using both hands to hold it in place.

"That Raegar fellow does seem to enjoy himself a little more than the rest of you though." Fidessa added.

Jeeves ignored Fidessa and slipped her items back into her pockets and deftly sliding out new ones. She brought forth a small rolled piece of leather and another glass tube with a stopper. She rushed to the nearest fiend and unrolled the leather, fishing out a shiny scalpel and cutting bits of flesh from the body. She slipped them into the tube and stoppered it tightly before fishing out another tube. Into this she placed a few of the bony projectiles and fiends had been shooting during the battle.
Quickly putting everything away she looked forlornly at the wolf-man corpse. She supposed it would be too much to ask to have Raegar carry it with them so she could study it. Ah well.
Her eyes quickly brightened again and she rushed to Raegar and made a quick visual examination of the pattern of his wounds left by the fiend.
"Simply marvelous! Tell me, what does its blood taste like?"
She already had a small paper pad and pencil in hand ready for notes.

Clap….clap…clap.

Blada stepped out into the clearing, giving the warriors some brief, half-hearted applause as she finally made her presence known. She made eye contact with no one aside from Raegar, and slowly approached him with a smile on her face, a smile that would’ve looked very genuine to anyone who did not know Blada like family.

She was very impressed by the man’s remarkable handling of the fiend, finding herself unable to look away even as blood was hurled from the beast’s insides. However, she certainly would not grant him the satisfaction of knowing this, given their exchange of taunts when they had met earlier. Instead, she walked to his side and shook her head disapprovingly.

“You know, I had expected you to take out that beast much more quickly.”

((sorry for the delayed response. never saw an updated post so i thought everyone was taking a break.))

Edlyre continued to watch the HxG members work and used his abilities when the need occurred. With each sealing of the fiends, he began to learn more of their energy composition and rudimentary behaviors. When all had been sealed, he observed the outcome of the others. Clearly they had handled themselves well. He was actually surprised with Raegar's recklessness of actually taking one on with his bare hands. However despite his wounds, he seemed rather unaffected and possibly wanted to press on with another fight.

As the man was tending to his wounds, he observed Jeeves who seemed rather curious like him about the effects of the fiends on humans. He knew a few basic things, but had never really gotten around to actually getting hard data for himself. He listened near the pair as Jeeves began her questioning.
"Are you all right? Would you like some balm and salve?" he asked

Raegar sat astride the beast as the others wrapped up sealing the fiends, and he felt as though he'd only been sitting a moment before Jeeves was there ready to bombard with her questions, "Blood is blood..."
He had been about to tell Jeeves to try it for herself if she was so curious, but then Blada had walked out, slowly clapping as she strode forward.

He grunted at her words and in response he placed his hand over the beasts stomach and with a bit of effort forced his hand into the beasts abdomen, and up under its ribcage. When he pulled his hand free, in it was the fiend's heart, still warm, and dripping with blood. He stood so he towered over the girl and looking into Blada's eyes he took a massive bite out of it, chewed and swallowed. Then he turned to go retrieve his axe from the other wolf's body, looking to Eldyre for a moment as he passed, "I'm fine." Then he continued eating the man-wolf's heart until it was gone.

He pulled the axe free and gave it a quick spin to relieve it of some gore before turning to the rest of the group. "One escaped, surprise is lost, but the trail will be plain. We leave shortly." He made his way back to the group and looked to Jeeves, "Have you asked yourself why the fiends didn't kill the farmer?"

Then he turned again to Edlyre, "You know healing, go check on the farmer."

Fidessa grimaced when Raegar took a bite out of the fiend's heart. "Ehh... But... Why?" Fidessa questioned quietly to herself at Raegar's strange actions. I've interacted with some twisted and weird people, but Raegar sure is a weirdo. Fidessa was confused in her thoughts as to why someone would take a bite out of a fiend's heart.

Fidessa sighed. "Welp! I hope there are more than just this little pack of wolves. If so, it seems like I wasn't needed on this mission." She said to no one in particular.

Roger tucked away his used seals into an envelope and then into a waterproof wrap and then into a leather satchel and then tucked that away into one of his saddlebags. He always took great care to ensure the safety of sealed fiends. If the seals became damaged the fiend spirits could break free and they'd have to be sealed again.
He smirked slightly, thinking to himself that it was strange how this had come to become his life. His best friend a rich young noble and both of them serving in a special Corps to protect the nation from monsters. A nation that was his enemy not too very long ago.
Roger shook himself free of his reverie and turned to see what the others were doing. If there were survivors they needed to ensure that they were safe and help treat them if they were wounded. Roger reached into his saddlebags again and pulled out another, larger, satchel. This one was full of bandages, thread and needles, alcohol, various simple medicines and herbs, and a very small vial of a very powerful and fast acting paralytic if he absolutely needed it. Roger held the satchel in his hand and walked back to the farmhouse to see what he would find.
Dimitri stayed close to Roger and recognized the satchel that he drew forth. He'd seen Roger use the contents of that satchel several times. More than once on him. And had assisted him numerous times with its usage. He stayed by his partners side as they walked back to the farmhouse. He may not have the training that Roger did, but he could follow directions. And he wanted to be there to help if it was needed.

Jeeves nodded and wrote a few quick notes. Her eyes lit up when Raegar pulled the heart from the body. Was he getting her a specimen? Her mood fell when he began to eat it. Who knew what she could have learned from the beast's organ? Ah well. She retreated back so as not to be the center of attention. Much better to observe and record...
