Lin couldn't help but clap her hands in glee. She then stood up, seeing that both glasses of tea were empty, and proceeded to go over to the sink to wash them. While the water was running, she talked a little more loudly so that Ambrose could hear her.
"5 AM it is! Although, I don't know why, but there's something about Lia that tells me she's not a morning person. I would love it if I were proven wrong. However, if she chooses not to go on the tour due to it being so early in the morning, would you still wish to go with me, even if it were just the 2 of us? If you would be uncomfortable, I would completely understand. All you have to tell me is that you would only wish to go if Lia were coming as well, and I will not say anything else about it nor harbor ill feelings."

Ah, Ambrose thought. So there was a God, after all. With what he hoped was a suitable, non-creeper-like expression, he seemed to be pondering her words before finally saying, "You're quite right. Ophelia's not one for waking with the sun, or much for walking aimlessly either. However, I would love to join you on a walk, bright and early as you said. I'm sure we'll have a great time. I'll speak with Lia about it." He said, and thought that if he had to, he'd get down on his knees and beg his sister to stay out of the way for a few hours. That shouldn't be too hard, considering she could and did spend hours on end painting her nails or even just studying them.

Riser stood up and in perhaps what was a gesture of allegiance, he changed form in their presence. The suit began to look more and more like a trench coat as the color bleached to white. The mask shifted itself and formed over his left eye this time, a first in all his recent forms. He bore what seemed like white animal fur across his body, most notably his shins and a massive fur collar on his tight-fitting coat. He was still asburdly tall.
"It's none of your business, just who are you two anywa-" he was cut off suddenly.
"Let's go kid." He muttered as he grabbed Aurora by the coat and threw him through the portal; he himself stepped through seconds later.

Alec was quite through with random people showing up in his classroom uninvited and decided to end this conversation before it got any further. Alec shouted at Tamora and Alexander through the doorway. "Classes are out, and we're busy! Come back later!" And with that, Alec sent a solid rock wall up through the doorway, making it impossible for anyone without a serious digging tool or serious skill to get through.
With everyone else through the portal, Alec stepped through and allowed the portal to fizz away behind him in a plume of flame. Alec looked around and admired the scenery for the shortest of moments. He then looked off into the distance and saw the Enlil Corp. building. Alec narrowed his eyes at it, gearing himself up for the fight that was inevitably about to come. Alec looked around at the others and spoke his mind. "Alright, we ready?"
Luna just gave Alec a solemn nod and stood next to him since they would be traveling together. "Quite ready."

((lol!! Wow. Ambrose on his knees begging his sister? That is a funny image. Funny, b/c he normally does NOT seem like the type to do that. lol. But it fits this situation so well. smile ))
Lin had finished cleaning the glasses, so she put them next to the sink on the drying rack. Since it was washed in Spring Water, no soap was needed and everything still came out even cleaner than it would with the strongest soap you could find on the planet. Plus, it left a beautiful sparkling gleam on the dishes when they were clean. It was quite lovely.
Upon hearing what Ambrose had said, Lin nodded, but when she turned around, her forehead was creased in confusion.
"Ambrose, would you mind if I asked you something personal? I would like to think that we are friends, and that it would be permissible for me to ask you a personal question. However, if you do not agree, please simply say so and I will go no further."

Ambrose was left just looking at her for a moment before he recovered and said, "No, no, go right ahead. I'd like to think of you as a...friend as well." He said, though he wondered what she was about to ask.

Lin smiled thankfully at Ambrose and nodded once more before continuing cautiously.
"Ambrose, I was wondering... why does your sister go by 'Lia' instead of her given-name of 'Ophelia'? It is a beautiful name!"

Ambrose just stared at her for a moment, dumbstruck. That was her question? No 'what are your intentions', no 'would you run off with me to Bora-Bora and have a dozen kids'? Ok, so the last one was a stretch, but still...Finally, he realized she was waiting for an answer, and he had to take a moment to even remember what her freaking question had been.
"Well, my mother calls her Ophelia, but it's just easier to say the shorter version. When we're at public events, though, everyone calls her by her given name." He explained, lifting his shoulders in a shrug.

At first, when Ambrose merely stared at her and did not respond, Lin was worried that she HAD asked a question that was too personal and that Ambrose was either not going to answer her at all or was thinking of a polite way to refuse her.
When he finally did answer her, though, Lin breathed a silent sigh of relief. She had finally found another person at Mystic Fountain High School that she could really relate to, and she was worried that she had scared him off already by being too personable. She was so glad that didn't seem to be the case.
So, she focused on his response. "I see. That is understandable. However, do you think she would mind if we, as in my family and I, referred to her as Ophelia instead of Lia? After all, her given name is so beautiful. We do not wish to insult her, of course, so if she prefers Lia, we will address her as such gladly. But if what you say is accurate, she merely goes by the shortened name because it is easier to pronounce, correct?"

"Yes, yes that's right. I'm sure she won't mind if you address her using her full name. She considers it elegant, I think, and prefers it in some cases actually." He confessed, and without thinking added, "Now, take Izzy for example. You so much as utter 'Isadora', and she'll have your hair flaming in...uh, never mind. Anyway, you can go ahead and call her Ophelia if you wish." He finished, frustrated that he'd slipped. Mentioning his baby sister always put that 'look' on Lin's face, and he didn't want that popping up because of him.

((I see!! Thanks for that catch! I was reading all over my post trying to figure out where I had messed up. I kept looking at the names of the characters since that's where I always mess up, but I didn't see anything. I was actually happy that I had gotten the characters name right! lol!!! But then I saw the name of the school. lol!))
Lin's back had straightened and she had automatically gone on the defensive when Ambrose had mentioned his sister Isadora. However, he quickly changed the subject and Lin decided it wasn't a good idea to linger on it, either. So, she let that matter go and smiled once more at Ambrose brightly.
"That's wonderful! I will let my family know. Now, since I asked you a question, you may ask me one now, if you wish. A personal one, of course. Or, you can save it for another time, if you wish. It is entirely up to you."
She giggled softly.
((I'm gonna have to go now. I'll be on tomorrow, though! I hope to see you then! biggrin ))

Ambrose took this very seriously, and held up a finger telling her to wait as he tapped his chin, making a show out of considering. He pulled his lip, tugged on his ear, set his chin on his fist and thought deep thoughts. Finally, after a full minute and a half of deliberation, he said, "Lin, the question I'm about to ask you is possibly one of the most important questions I've ever asked anyone...ever. What..." He paused dramatically, getting into his act.
"What, lovely Lin, is...your favorite home cooked meal?" He asked, and wiggled his eyebrows, cracking a grin.
