Laurel couldn't believe the variety of candies that this festival had to offer! They all looked so colorful and yummy, which was he supposed to choose? He clicked his tongue and pondered. Did he feel like strawberry candy? Lemon? Maybe cherry? His lips pursed. Hmm... No, he wanted blueberry! Did they have anything that looked like blueberries on the table?
"Oooh, this one!" He chirped, picking one of the bags with a purple ribbon off of the table. It had some blue and purple candies inside of it, maybe one of those would be the flavor he was after. And even if it didn't have a blueberry candy, it was still free candy and that made it good!

Yet another prize, and it was a bottle of glitter that he could shake and watch! That was quite nice. Not only that, but he also got to try another spin of the wheel. Maybe he could win another prize? Perhaps not, but it was worth a shot right?
Hand going to the wheel again, he began to move it and spun it fast, watching to see what he got this time.
Darnit! The hoop fell far, far short of the goal. Quilo sighed with frustration and glared at the pole. Stupid pole. How come it was so far away? He stuck his lower lip out, but pulled it back in before he talked to the girl. He'd definitely seen her before--that brilliant hair mixed with that blue was definitely familiar. He couldn't remember where he'd seen her before, but if she said it was from the dorm... Well, she might remember that better! He smiled and stuck a hand out to the girl, like he'd seen adults do. "Hi, Tarin! I'm Quilo. I think I've seen you around before, so you must be right about that! Wanna hang out?" He capped it all off with a big smile, the pale patches on his skin shining bright.
He watched as she threw her hoop and pushed back jealousy. "Congrats!" he said. "Your cat's pretty. Whatcha gonna call her?" Absently, he reached out to grab another hoop. He turned to throw it, then turned back to her.

Talking had distracted him; this time, his throw sent the hoop spinning through the air to hit the wall. The adult at the stall cringed and made an unhappy noise. "Uh...oops," the young Geist said.

She took his hand with a smile. "Very nice to meet you officially Quilo, and yes I very much would." that had be the entire reason she'd come over after all, but if he didn't want to spend time with her she wasn't going to force him.
She looked down at the toy and stared at it for a moment. "Uh...I'm not exactly sure at the moment...I'll think of something." even though the odds were very high she wouldn't. She still hadn't even named the toy rabbit that had been with her since she was a baby. It honestly just hadn't struck her as something she had to do.
She watched him hit the wall with the hoop. "Good try." she picked up another and tried herself.

The ring wobbled but then slid down the pole. She was nearly sure she'd missed that one. She considered for a moment then looked at Quilo. "Which prize do you want?"
With a belly full of sweets and a bag full of plushies, Laurel was about the happiest he'd ever been. He'd eaten so much food, played so many games, and saw Arcadia again! He wished he was big enough to hang out with her all the time, he hated being so little! The thought made him pout a bit and he stared at his feet, as if willing them to make him taller, and decided to wander toward another game.
"Hmm... Bean bag toss?" He mused, tilting his head at the sign. "I haven't played this yet!"
He took a pile of bean bags readily and tossed them carefully through the hoops. His aiming wasn't so good, but he still managed to get three of the five he had into the hoops! He bounced up and down. What did he win? What did he win?
"Here you go little one! One teal and purple jelly!" Cheered the person behind the counter.
Laurel gasped. Another jellyfish?! Oh wow! He'd already won one of those! Now he had two and they could be buddies! He grinned, thanked the man for his prize, and hurried over to a caretaker to show off his winnings. He couldn't wait to see the look on their face when they saw all the new plushies and friends he had!

Tayce had seen many people coming and going lately, particularly from this one hall. There was an event going on of some sort, she was pretty sure, but hadn't seen any of her friends to ask them to go with her. Curiosity finally got the best of her this night as she shuffled along, following a small group of Nightmares that were talking amongst themselves about the food. Trailing along, they led her into a very open space set with many tables and places to go. Crowds milled about, broke up, and reformed randomly. Sometimes gathering here or there as people recognized each other. Looking about while her ears twitched back and forth, she tilted her head before dashing off to investigate, following sounds and smells that gripped her attention on random whims.
Exploring was always fun, and as she made a large circle around the hall and people she noticed a table giving out small trinkets, seemingly like a welcoming offer. Curious, Tayce ran up on her short legs and hopped around, overcome with the giddiness of seeing so many pretty and plushy things she didn't own yet. People were only taking one thing though, she could only just have one? Her tail stopped wagging for a moment as the reality of it set in. How could she choose? The purple vespercat plushie with the pretty eyes? Oooooh no, what about this spotted one? Or the candy! But, wait. Was that... was something glowing over there?
Scrambling over ot the other side of the table she jumped up and down in front of the glowing bottles. They were necklaces, and they looked kind of like her whisps, but not. There was a purple one! And it had staaaars! This was it! Gently lifting it with her claws she ran around and held it aloft, silently asking for permission to take it before getting the nod from the staff she'd been seeking. Excited all over again, she put her treasure around her neck and ran off, ears up and tail bouncing a happy beat.
Yay! Quilo grinned. It would be really super to have a friend. Maybe when they'd hung out enough, she would be his friend? He hoped so. Well, it was something to keep in mind, anyway. "Well, you can name it whatever. I guess there isn't really a time limit on these things. I just like to name mine right away--'cause if I don't, I'll forget to. And that's always annoying, to forget to name something." He shrugged. "Or...maybe I'm the only one who gets annoyed by that."
It had been a pretty wild throw, hadn't it? Quilo giggled. "I think I threw it too hard. I probably shouldn't do that, should I."
Quilo gasped, then applauded, turning to Tarin and hugging her. "Wow! You are, like, the queen of this!" But then she said something that made him blink. "Oh...you don't have to do that! I mean, I don't have anything to give to you. And isn't that what you're supposed to do, when you give gifts?" He thought back to their classes on basic culture. That was a Baphomet thing, right? He couldn't tell if she was part Baphomet. Maybe she was. Wouldn't her horns be different if she was part Demon? But what about Imp? Or Chimera? 'Cause they all had horns... "I mean...if you want to give me one, then I promise you I'll give you one back."
He pointed to a purplish stuffed wolf. "I kinda like that one."

Tarin giggled a bit. "Well everybody does everything differently. Nothing wrong with that. I just...am not very good at naming things." she admitted. "So it takes me a little while sometimes."
"Maybe not!" she agreed giving him a smile and was then surprised when he hugged her. "I guess. I've never played this before at all! So I guess I'm just lucky!" she shook her head. "No, it's okay! You've been trying and I just walked up and started winning, so I don't mind sharing my luck a bit." she smiled and then pointed at the plushie and passed it to Quilo once it was given to her. "There now we both got one."

Unfortunately, her lap around the mess hall proved that nothing struck her fancy. Wedging her prizes under her arm, Cassie covered a yawn with her hand. Following after Jezebeth had really worn her out. Wiggling her ears, she headed towards the door, giving brief good nights to the few she passed that were familiar, and thanking a few booth keepers along the way. All in all it was a good night, and Cassie was happy with herself that she had bothered to come out.

Quilo took the wolf in his hands reverently, said "Thank you" to the attendant, and turned back to Tarin. "You're the nicest person I've ever met!" he said. "Thank you, Tarin!" He hugged her again, then carefully tucked his new prize in his shirt. He began contemplating names. Something starting with a P this time, to go along with Malia, his rabbit. And of course, himself, Quilo. Naming was something he did a lot.
"I like naming things," he said. "I think I'm pretty good at it. But I have a system, so maybe I just cheat or something. Is it cheating? To just go with a system or something?"
He'd been pretty much putting off checking out the event while hiding away to go over his options for University next year. Finally the feeling of being overwhelmed got the best of him and he needed some air. Not that there was much here, with so many people around. It was a good distraction though, and he shrugged his shoulders as he joined the slow-moving throng towards the buffet.
There was a table set up to the side and what remained of some pretty picked-over door prizes. A few stuffed animals and some other things, it looked like, though there was a bit of a disarray to it. He couldn't blame them, it was the last day and people were getting a bit rowdy. Still, he cruised by to catch a peek just in case he spotted something. Like that sweet bag of candy.
"Hell yea," he grinned while plucking the bag off the table and walked away with it. There was a fifty-fifty chance that they wouldn't be around by tomorrow, either because of Yue or from eating them himself. Which reminded him, he need to get working on that project he had in mind for her, not that he knew where to start. And maybe some gummi nezubats while he was at it. Could never have too many, though she probably wished they weren't shaped like the little flying fuzzballs.

She squeaked a bit as he hugged her once again. "I don't know about that, but thanks for thinking that." she hugged him back and then shuffled a bit, the slight glow that emanated from her freckles brightening slightly.
She shook her head. "No! Everyone I know uses a system to name stuff. My brother has a really weird one! So I don't think it's cheating. Maybe I should come up with one...it might help me." she considered and then filed it away to think about later, maybe while she was trying to fall asleep tonight. "Want to go try another game, maybe?" she looked around seeing if any of the stalls were still open. It looked like most of them were closing up at this point.

Now that she thought about it, it was pretty late. Pepper gathered up her two fish and slid through the crowd towards the door. She would work on her homework for a bit longer before bed and hopefully there would be enough time to finish it. If not, surely one of the caretakers would give her some time to get it done. She wouldn't be surprised if there were at least a few other freshlings with the same problem.
Just before she slipped out the door, a necklace dropped down around her head. Startled, she whipped around to see a taller demon smiling at her. "Keep it, it matches you," the older girl said before turning away to talk with her friends. "Thank you!" Pepper piped up, admiring her new teal necklace. It did kinda match her and it was super cute! Letting it go, it hung down and gently clinked against the purple one already around her neck. It was on a happy and slightly sleepy note that the freshling demon left the party.
