((I said everything in between. That included the Spaghetti Monster, obviously. And no, I'm not there yet...As you can see, I don't have any current monstrous student loans, and I'm not starving myself to be able to afford some textbook...Oh, those'll be good times, good times...))

((Ack! What's wrong with being over 20?? You get to have freedom beyond belief and stay out as long as you want!! XD lol!))
While they were walking to the party, Lin could see many other large Elven families coming out of their homes and heading in the same direction they were. And with her keen eyesight, Lin could see clear in the distance that the small, elegantly-crafted torches were lit and their light was reflecting beautifully in the spring lake.
While they walked along, Lin leaned slightly closer to Ambrose so that he was sure to hear her soft words. It would be getting loud soon enough, so why not enjoy the quiet and try not to disturb it prematurely?
"If you don't mind me asking, Ambrose, how are you liking being here so far?"

((Oops, sorry. Forgot how...wonderfully...delightful...being over twenty is...my bad... xd ))
It took Ambrose to get over the fact that she was leaning towards him, but then he managed to get what she was saying and smiled at her, copying her soft tone. "It's simply delightful, Lin. I can see why you adore your homeland so much...There's no other place like it. Even the Island can't compare." He said, referring to his home.

((Uh huh.... suuuuure. wink lol!))
Lin smiled proudly as she heard Ambrose describe her home. It was a pride she felt for all her people, not just her. Everyone worked hard to make sure that nature was the main focus of their home and that they coexisted with it as naturally as possible.
When she heard him mention an island, though, she grew quite curious. "Island? What island?"

"The family island. It's actually Rinaldi Island, but it's kind of...embarrassing to call it that. It's where we all grew up, me and Lia and Izzy, before our parents sent us to Mystic Fountain. It's almost all forest and a couple streams except for the exact center of the island, where our mansion stands. Izzy and I used to climb up on the roof when we were little just to watch the sunlight hit the water just right...But still, this beats it, hands down." He said, keeping his voice low.

Lin giggled softly, the sound of bells echoing off of the trees.
"Well, thank you, Ambrose. We are all very proud of our home. Hopefully, eventually, you and your sister will wish to call this city your home as well. We do not have any mansions, but then again, I do not know what you would do with all that space for just a few people."
She laughed softly again.

At that moment, Ambrose was oh so tempted to shout out 'I HAVE TWO SISTERS, DAMN IT! TWO!' But he kept his mouth shut and just smiled, laughing. "Oh, we made good use of it. Playing tag, hide and seek, sliding down the polished stair rails...And I'm sure we'd be proud to call this our home...Our second home, of course. Original roots are never to be forgotten, after all." He said, then immediately cursed himself for sounding like some cheap fortune cookie...

((If you all want to get into the mood of this post and the party, I highly recommend listening to this song on Youtube! It's an awesome and fun song! (( Introduction Party Song)) Lin smiled brightly at him and nodded in approval at what he said. She definitely agreed that the original roots a person had, as long as they were good and safe, should be the first in a person's heart. She was glad that Ambrose seemed to feel the same way. Finally, the family had arrived at the bustling party. So many hundreds of Elves were there. It almost looked like a large group of marble statues before them because the Elves were so pristine and perfect-looking. Like something out of a fairytale. Well, according to many oblivious humans, Elves were simply a myth from fairy tales. There were so many different colors filling the large courtyard from the many different layers of robes, and all of them were framed lovely by the sparkling spring lake behind them. When Samiel was sure everyone was there, he nodded to his girls and the Elven choir and orchestra. Yes, Elves had a choir and an orchestra. Music was incredibly important to them! The orchestra was already seated in the back of the makeshift stage by the spring. The stage was made up of smooth oak. When Samiel nodded at them, the choir went up to stand in the middle back of the stage where there was a break in between the 2 sections of the orchestra. Then, once the choir was set up, Lin smiled quickly at Ambrose before joining Kember, Gwendolyn, and 2 girls from a different Elven family up on the stage in the exact center so that Samiel could stand front and center to greet everyone. "Good evening, friends! It is wonderful to see everyone here and in such good spirits. As most of you know, my family chose to hold this party in honor of 2 of my daughter Lin's classmates, Ambrose and Lia Rinaldi." He held out his hand in the direction of where Ambrose and Lia were sitting, which was in the front row with the rest of Samiel's family. Everyone clapped for them and smiled warmly at them. Again, it appeared that Elves were a lot friendlier and not nearly as rigid as they were portrayed in mythologies. Samiel waited until the applause died down before continuing. "Not only are they our honored guests, but they are also part Elves that are being introduced for the first time to our beautiful, wonderful home! I know you will all make them feel welcome!" "Now, since many other families have graciously provided the entertainment for many of the previous parties we have had the fortune of having, my family thought that it was only proper that we provide to you the entertainment this night, for the party we wanted to bring to you. So please, sit back and enjoy the festivities! Oh excuse me, I mean, please feel free to get up, dance, and join in on the celebration!" He laughed heartily and then gestured to the musical groups behind him as he bounded off the stage in excitement. With his exit and as the 5 girls came forward gaily with bright smiles, the crowd applauded and cheered loudly, already getting into the mood of the party. And then, the lively music started and the girls launched into their classic, upbeat song. (( Introduction Party Song))

((Yeah, I think so too...))
Ambrose was prepared to fight tooth and nail for a seat next to Lin, and his smile was a notch brighter when that wasn't necessary. He was betweeen Lin and his sister, and he tried to focus on the music. "It's a beautiful song." He commented quietly, not sure if he was supposed to keep quiet while they were singing or something.

((I'm glad you guys liked it, too! biggrin )) By the end of the song, most Elves had gotten up and were dancing and clapping. Even the main singers had been dancing while they were singing. It was truly a magical time! When the song was over, all the 5 girls but Kember quickly flitted offstage to go sit in the audience. Well, to sit on the floor before the first row. Lin made sure to sit in front of Lia and Ambrose to make sure they were having fun. Lin turned her head back to smile brightly at them and quickly whispered, "I hope you both enjoyed that! Now it's time for Kember's solo! Her voice is so enchanting!" She smiled once more before turning her face back toward the stage. Kember smiled out into the audience and then focused her attention on Lia and Ambrose. "Well that was a lively start to our party! Now, I'd like to bring things back down just for a moment. I have a song in mind that I would love to dedicate to our guests!" Everyone clapped again, and then there was silence before the music started. Kember's song

((Ah, great song!))
As Ambrose listened to the song, he held his breath at the sheer beauty of it, but couldn't help but think, in the back of his mind, that just Lin's normal speaking voice was so much more like music to his ears...Ok, he really needed to stop that.
At first, when the song's first few lines came out, he thought it would be about a couple. But no, it was about a homeland. Well, if that didn't just fit the conversation...

Lin clapped loudly along with the other Elves as the song finished. It was wonderful! And she loved turning around and seeing the pleased expressions Ambrose and Lia had on their faces. Then, when the applause once again grew quiet, Lin gasped softly as she saw Gwendolyn and one of the girls from the other family come out onto the stage. She quickly turned around and whispered to Ambrose and Lia, "This upcoming song is gorgeous! Simply magical! I know what song they are going to sing because the 2 of them sang the duet a few parties back!" She then turned back around and focused very intentely on the music that began. 2nd to Last songWhen the beautiful song was over, Lin found herself wiping away a few tears that had fallen down her cheeks.

Ambrose was sorry to say that, depsite what Lin had said, he didn't focus completely on the duet. In his mind, he thought...Each of the sisters is singing...Lin's going to sing...LIN'S GOING TO SING!!!!!!! However, Lia actually ended up wiping a delicate tear from her eye as she listened to the song. "It's beautiful..." She murmured, and brushed another tear away.

Lin was clapping so loudly for that song that she almost hadn't heard Lia, but she had. She turned her head and smiled at her, nodding enthusiastically even though there were still tears glittering in her eyes. Then, a few moments later, Lin bit her lip and nervously got up from the ground. She dusted herself off and then went up on stage. Great... After that incredible, gorgeous song, it was time for everyone to hear her childish voice. Oh well! She loved to sing, so she was just going to focus on the fun she was going to have while singing it, not comparing her voice to her other older sisters. She smiled out into the audience. "Hello everyone. It is so wonderful to be back home, even if it is for such a short time. So, I would like to dedicate this song to all of you, and to our home. I cannot wait to be back here for good." Everyone clapped and smiled brightly at her words and then quieted down for the song. Lin's SongAt the end, Lin was almost crying again. The song had touched her more, singing it for many of her loved ones, than she had ever thought it would. So, she merely curtsied instead of saying anything.
