"I see." Valenti said. "I'm glad you were able to bring this to my attention early. And I'm also glad that you came and requested help instead of attempting to tackle this issue yourself. In fact, we've instituted new procedures here. All Hunters and Guardians on mission are to operate in teams of at least three. I know you're a bit of a loner, but I expect you to follow regulations. As for this task I have a few people in mind, but you know the situation better than I do. How many men do you think this mission will require?"

Mathias cringed as Kait seemed to berate him like it was his fault they were there. When her words died away, he stood there blinking as if unable to believe she was done. Her glare at his lack of movement spurred him forward and he leapt to select an article of wash and began scrubbing it vigorously on his own washing board.
"Yeah, yeah...get done quickly. Sure..." he looked at the mounds of laundry in the large washing room, then at the other regular washers as they began filing in for the day. His mind wandered back to his father's keep when Mathias was younger and remembered walking down in the work areas. He had toured through the wash room and remembered how the laundry seemed to flow unending through the doors. He cringed to himself at the memory. There had been a lot less people in that keep than there was the Corps. Citadel. This was going to be a long punishment.... Kait was going to punish him too, he just knew it.

((There are no other washers on duty. It's just the two of you, so we'll ignore that part of your post.))

Raegar took a moment to consider the facts. "A minimum of five. With their numbers and how close the pack is staying together...its unusual. Aside from the fact they seem to be growing more numerous as time goes on. It also might be better to have more than that. And if they are both a Hunter and a Guardian would be best, but of course they don't need to be. Its going to be a challenge no matter what. Part of my time was spent trying to cleave stragglers from the pack. They never separated into a group smaller than ten. Which was too high of a risk considering the small distance between that group and the pack. The more able hands the better really. Whats important is taking them out."

"Well, I won't lie, We're somewhat short on able bodies at the moment. I can think of two off the top of my head that I can send with you. They just returned from a mission. Dimitri Fenris and Roger Christos. They're something of a tag team, and Roger's a Guardian." General Valenti said. He drew a sheet of paper from a stack on his desk and quickly wrote on it, signing his name across the bottom. He folded it and held it out to Raegar. "Show this to one of the guards and they'll send someone to track those two down. That letter is orders for the two of them to accompany you on this mission. And I'll find a couple of more bodies to send your way also. When do you plan on leaving?"
PostPosted: Sat Nov 30, 2013 5:46 pm

Raegar took the sheet of paper and glanced at it. "I will be sure to do so. I would like to leave no later than two days from now. After that I believe they will be into more populated lands, and we'll have many bodies on our hands. If there are few others without assignment right now. I have come to understand there are a number of younger Corps members enduring punishment for ignoring orders. Perhaps a couple of them could join if need be, under condition of their continued punishment when we return. After all I believe you'd agree that keeping the people safe takes priority. It will be your call however." He held out a shovel like hand to Valenti. "I will let you get back to your responsibilities."

Valenti shook again. "Of course. I'll find a way to at least get you your minimum number of men." Valenti sat back down and pulled the next document that needed his attention across the desk so that it was in front of him. "Oh, and make sure you come back after your mission this time."

Raegar nodded, "Barring any addition signs of fiends I will return immediately. Otherwise I'm honor bound to track the beast down and end it as you know." The big man gave Valenti a nod and turned to walk from the room.

After a few hours Fidessa succumbed to her boredom and decided to sneak out from Kiro's room in search of food. With a couple whiffs of her nose she quickly found her way to the cafeteria. Light on her feet she gathered up some of the left out food from earlier and began scarfing it down. "Gah, I was starving!" Fidessa said in relief.

With a sandwich in hand, Fidessa left the building and went wandering around the Corps. in search of something to do. What does Kiro do all day here?.. She thought.

Kiro continued working on filling troughs with food for the horses as it was not becoming later in the day. He was plenty bored and irritated at this point. "I feel like just leaving... This isn't for me."

As was the norm for the vast majority of Hunters and Guardians the returning warriors made haste to find their way to the cafeteria almost immediately upon their return.
Roger Christos walked in and snatched up a plate which he quickly loaded down with fish and breads. He checked his meal out and then made his way over to a table where he slumped down into a chair. The man wore a short crop of hair with matching stubble along his jaw. He had a lean wolfish face and a hooked nose. He wore simple clothing in tans and browns of heavy cotton. His long gloves, high boots, and close-fitting hooded jacket were all of well worn brown leather. A simple, but functional, saber rode on each of his hips. and a pair of flintlocks rode in holsters strapped to his thighs.
Roger removed his gloves and set them on the table off to one side and began digging into his meal.
As Roger ate another man walked in. He cut quite a striking figure in his finely embroidered trousers and his silk shirt. His supple leather boots were polished to a shine. A pair of gloves, matching his boots, were tucked into his wide belt. He also wore a dark crimson jacket with golden embroidery at the cuffs and collar. He glanced about the room with his bright blue eyes peering out from his noble face. He wore a small smirk across his freshly shaven face with its high cheekbones and its strong jaw. His long blonde hair was still damp from a quick wash and he let it fall about his shoulders freely.
The fine young man, Dimitri Fenris, walked to the serving tables and, after taking up a plate, helped himself to a collection of venison steaks, pheasant, and a variety of vegetables with a glass of wine. He checked out and sauntered over to the table his companion had recently claimed.
"You never cease to amaze me with how quickly you can strip out of that armor, shave, and shower." Roger said.
"Years of practice." Dimitri said back. "In a noble family you are expected to go from things such as festivals and competitions directly to banquets and parties in a matter of minutes. One eventually masters the art of doing these sorts of things with practiced ease, and the utmost efficiency,"
"I see. So in the end it's all to impress the other nobility."
"And pretty young women. Never forget the importance of the pretty young women." Dimitri said as he, too, began to eat.

Fidessa had just finished consuming her sandwich when she reached the Arena. "Hmmm... Pretty decent structure they made." Fidessa commented after swallowing the last bits of food. Fidessa reached out and touched the stone wall in front of her, running her hand down it until it fell back down to her side. She looked up at the top of the large Arena, "maybe two-hundred feet tall? I can do that..." Bending her knees, Fidessa jumped into the air as well as unleashing minor shock waves underneath her feet to propel herself up higher. Halfway to the top Fidessa kicked off from a edge protruding off the structure and continued on higher.

With her graceful balance Fidessa landed safely atop of the Arena where she overlooked everything. The open arena below inspired her. All of the history and experience this structure had endured over the years intrigued Fidessa, which urged her curiosity for a closer look. Taking the stands from the top, Fidessa then hopped down into the battle bowl of the arena. "This is quite something!"

Kiro finished up what we was doing at the stables and cleaned himself up by a sink. "I've had enough of this. Can't do it. I wasn't made to clean stables and feed horses." Kiro commented.

Enyo had finished her work early along with extra maintenance on armor, shields, and blades using her expert knowledge of the crafts. "I'll be going." Enyo murmured.

Will continued to operate the elevators. Up. Down. Up. Down... He was so accursedly bored. He resolved then and there that the next day he would be sneaking a book in with him when it was time for his shift. He needed something to occupy his mind during the long stretches of time when he was not actually ferrying people up and down, which he was now discovering did not actually happen that often.

((I'll get to the others later... But look! A post!))

Raegar drew the bear's head up and over his own as he headed for the front door of the Assignments Office and as he walked outside he looked to face one of the guards that stood nearby. "You." He growled the words as he started to lift the piece of paper Valenti had given him up. "Orders from Valenti himself, get it done quickly." The he slapped the piece of the paper lightly against the man's chest, knocking him back a step. He then turned without a word and headed to the Fiend Storage building. The leather sack he carried was full of sealed spirits. As he stepped in and made his way to the front desk and drew out the sack which sat easily in his enormous hands and plopped in front of the corps member behind it. He glowered at them, "Delivery."

Drustwn had been idly perusing a few documents as he waited for his shift in the Archives to end when a bag was suddenly dropped onto the desk before him and a gruff voice announced the word "delivery". He looked up and carefully kept his face blank when he recognized Raegar.
Drustwn set his document aside and opened the bag to see all the seals packed carefully within. After a moment he looked up and, fighting a grin, put as much disdain into his voice as he could," This is all? It must be slim pickings out in the countryside..."
Before Raegar can react, another pair of hands appear out of nowhere to seize the bag and a younger looking girl sticks her face into the bag for just a moment before lifting it back out to begin scribbling notes furiously onto a small pad of paper. Her blonde hair is pulled back into a careless ponytail and her clothing, while recognizable as uniform of the archives staff, appears modified, with many extra pockets. She pushes a pair of strange goggles up onto her forehead and looks up at Raegar,"Impressive. I'd like to ask you questions about your techniques when capturing the fiend souls. I still need to broaden my sections about the barbarian tribes..." She trails off as she makes a few more notations before absent-mindedly taking the bag of seals with her, still going over her notes.
Drustwn waited until she was out of earshot before addressing Raegar again," Consider yourself lucky. That was a minor brush with Jenevaeve Aurora...Jeeves for short. Your lucky because she didn't try to take a blood sample or poke you in the eye to study your reaction. Trust me. Be happy if it's just questions. So what brings you back, Raegar?"
