Alec just cocked an eyebrow at Seven's blatantly obvious statement about the pentagon. "...yeahhhh, Seven? Not exactly something I'd be talking about in public. Just saying."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 28, 2010 4:23 pm

She paused and looked down, blushing. "You're not the public. You're.... you."

Her hands twitched, and the holographic display disappeared. "I think I'm done," she said quietly. "I have gathered much information. I should take a break to prevent tracking and excessive energy loss."

Alec noticed the blush, yet he didn't believe it at first. Was Seven already starting to get a handle on emotions? And if so... why was she blushing right now anyway?

Of course Alec wasn't focusing on why she was blushing since he was more concerned with the fact that she had in the first place. "Seven, did you.... did you just blush?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 28, 2010 4:34 pm

"I do not know," she responded, looking up at Alec. "I imagine it's possible. I am... experiencing more emotions now, I think, and I am meant to outwardly manifest them. Why do you ask?"

...For the upteenth time in as many minutes Alec was left speechless for a few seconds. Alec wasn't quite sure what was happening, but he was curious to find out. Alec's voice showed genuine interest in Seven and her condition as he spoke plainly. "Well, Seven, I would think since you're basically a logic engine that you would be able to understand if you were feeling emotions or not. Your circuitry might even be doing things it doesn't normally do for no apparent reason. Is that happening right now?" Alec looked directly into her eyes as he spoke, curious about how the automaton would respond to him. This was all new territory for Alec, and one of the few things he really liked to do was learn new things.

Kai had reached the Library and was lingering outside the door listening in on the conversations on the other side of the door. something about Data and seven. He stood perfectly quiet as more and more events unfolded. "So this is what everyone has been up to?" he asked himself having previously returned to the spirit plains to suppress both Kith and Koy so they wouldn't be in a power wasting struggle.

Seven thought about this for a few moments. Unlike before, she did not crash. "I'm still not sure, though. This is unusual. I could possibly be overanalyzing. It does happen to the best of computers occasionally. I believe the best way to determine the extent of this 'emotion' is to provoke it. Yes, that sounds right."

She looked at Alec, and then leaned forward, kissing him. It was not an entirely unhuman kiss, as her body did have warmth, and she was not completely made of metal - her face did move seamlessly, after all.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 28, 2010 5:13 pm

.....................................................

Wow. That was Alec's first thought. After a full minute all he could think was 'wow'. True, Seven wasn't human, but she was close. Her lips felt like... well, kinda like plastic, but fluid and soft, and oddly enough warm as well. It definitely wasn't skin, but it wasn't bad either. ...It was kinda like that odd feeling you get when you peel your finger away from the sticky side of tape. It's weird, but you like it all the same. It was... oddly pleasant.

After a moment Alec released, still entirely speechless. Alec just stood there, hands hanging at his sides, face stuck in a slightly odd expression. After a few more seconds of speechless appreciation of the reality of what just happened, Alec shook his head quickly and began to explain what he was thinking in as plain detail as he could. Seven deserved a straight answer. She was a computer after all.

"...Look, Seven, I'm not really sure how to respond to this. I mean... You're not exactly human. I mean, don't get me wrong, that wasn't exactly... bad... It as actually kinda pleasant... in a very oddly unpredictable way.... But Seven, I don't know if I can really understand how I feel about this if you yourself are just figuring out how emotions work. I mean, if you don't fully know then how can I even hope to know how to feel?"

After a few seconds of silence Alec chimed in with another idea that popped into his head. "...though, if you want, we could discuss this later. ...If you want that is. No pressure..."

Seven pulled away, and watched Alec as he tried to speak, the computer smiling - rather coyly, actually - all the while.

"No, I do not fully understand the emotions... which is why I tested them, Alec." For once, she did not call him Mister Alec. "I would very much like to discuss further, though. I also found that interaction pleasant. A kiss, right?" She paused and tilted her head, her green hair swaying with the movement. "I liked it. I... I liked it." She did. She really liked it. Like, liked liked. It was the first time she had truly liked something because she did, and not because a piece of code told her to. This... this was not coded. And that feeling... it was very liberating.

"I don't think emotions work like that, Alec. I was always under the impression humans never knew how to feel beforehand, they just felt."

Stooped over a pile of indiscriminate rubble, The Fallen's breathing was just beginning to slow. He had gone berserk, had let rage take the better of his mind, and now Silas' golem lay beneath him as a pile of gravel.

Slowly, he began to reshape his physical form. This new headmaster, he would have to be taught a lesson in due time. Soon the 'history teacher' would have to play his part, but for the time being he had had other plans.
Opposed to many of his other tall, lanky forms, this new one was quite muscular. Detailed and extremely intricate tattoo's ran down his left arm; a series of lines and markings that somehow seemed to tell of a long forgotten battle. The shattered mask still adorned the face, but now he made no effort to hide it beneath hood or darkness.

He walked to his desk, last used years prior, and took a white coat from the rack on the wall. Stepping into the hallway as he pulled it on, he pushed back from his eyes a sweep of blonde hair, apparently refusing to button his jacket as he walked outside.

The sun caught him with a vicious glare, and his hand once again came to his face to shield his eyes. With his eyes settled, he strolled down the steps into the courtyard, surveying his surroundings. Mr. BLACK was sitting atop the roof to his left, humming some sort of chant that seemed nonsensical. Next to him sat GREEN 117, his 'assassin' and most recent summons. He wondered just how they were capable of getting along with such opposing personalities.

There. Across the field just beyond the courtyard, almost in the thick of the forest itself, sat his target; a hazy smoke gave his position behind a fallen fir away immediately.
"ALEXANDER!" he bellowed. In an instant the teen was on his feet and sprinting the opposite direction.
"Son of a b***h... Why does he always run, always!"

The demigod was darting through the underbrush in the forest, hoping that by some miraculous happening he might escape his father's apparent wrath. He had sensed the pressure from miles away earlier, but he had no way of knowing exactly why Riser was so angry. A moment later, and he was standing face to face with him, his feet fluttering harmlessly off the ground.

"You. We need to have a little, father-son ******** you! That's my chat!"

"Shut up and listen-"

"NO! You listen! You were never there for me, you never helped me, never taught me anything, never knew I even existed! I can't stand you, and yet I find my life now revolving around you!"

"That's exactly it. I never was there for you, I never did know you existed...until recently."

"What's your point?"

"My point, is that I find it impossible."

"What? Here I stand before you, and you find me impossible?"

"The entire situation, I find it entirely impossible. The fact that I, of all beings, didn't know you existed? That makes me sick. If you were really my son, if you really exist because of me, then perhaps that's exactly it."

"I don't get what you're-"

"You're a fake. You're a figment of my imagination, brought physical life by my weakened state after Zurich burned, you-"

"That's preposterous! How could..." he found himself stuttering, his entire world spinning. "But, my memories, how..." suddenly they seemed hazy. Had he really been a havoc across Europe the last few years? He didn't know, he couldn't think. "But, but I remember things, things like mom!"

"Your mother never existed either. I've come to the conclusion that you're a disoriented past-self of mine. You escaped at the exact moment I saved Ialo and the others in Zurich, and your 'memories' are nothing more than the garbled remnants of that life. You don't exist, Alexander." He looked his 'son' in the eyes for the first time, and saw that they were his own.

"But...but how...no...NO! ITS ALL YOU!...I...I CAN'T..." he was panicking now, his head spinning as his feet finally touched the ground. He felt sick to his stomach, and he was breathing rapidly. "How can you...HOW CAN YOU SAY THIS!?"

"You..." he muttered, grabbing Alexander by the shoulders, thrusting him into a fatherly embrace.
A look of shock came across the child's face, and he began to fight back the tears as everything he had wanted in his life came true. His father was hugging him, a truly loving embrace.

"You don't exist, Alexander."

And he was gone.

Immature Excuse

PostPosted: Sun Aug 29, 2010 7:24 am

What about my friends? My old life?

He waved away the air around his face, as if there was a fly.

Don't misunderstand me, everything we've been doing is fun, but I'd like to go back sometime.
You can't, nor will you.

"I'd like a Java Chip, tall," Dymetri said smoothly to the cashier. He felt Marcos deteriorating, felt something-- his conscious?-- trying to make him tell Lin the truth.
He took the coffee with a smile and it grew with the sight of Lin. It was some time after dawn, before classes. The sky, more orange than blue, looked like a painting with perfectly made strokes.

He rubbed his chin, decided he needed a small shave. Of course, he didn't know if Lin liked her men rugged. Dymetri sighed, he wasn't even a man, really. I must go through all of this, again. Must grow up, again.

You could always leave my body and I could be the one growing up, normally.

Dymetri blocked out Marcos's ignorance. He pulled out a chair for Lin, nothing but happiness shown on his face.

"Actually, I don't think it works like that exactly. See, even though people say that they don't know why they feel the way they feel, if they think about it later they can usually figure it out, unless they're trying to deny those feelings to themselves that is. But yeah, I don't think it's possible for a person to feel anything unless they understand on some level, usually subconsciously I think, why they feel that way. I mean, even if someone were to get angry at something, and all they could cognitively think about was the anger, they would still know why they were angry in the back of their head, otherwise they wouldn't be angry in the first place."

"I see...." Seven said, musing. And naturally, recording everything, just like how she had recorded when Master Ialo was taken away. "That seems logical. It must be true."

She thought about this for a few moments. "So, because I can acknowledge that I enjoyed kissing you, then I understand why I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it, I am quite certain, because I enjoy interacting with you on many other levels."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 29, 2010 12:21 pm

Alec slowly nodded his head at Seven's own logical statement. "...I can't find anything wrong with that statement either. So by that logic, it must also be true."

But that got Alec thinking, did he really like Seven too? I mean, he had only just met her, but already she was proving to have more of a personality than most real people he had met before in his life. She was deceptively funny, logical (of course), good spirited, and she was kind to boot. And honestly? Alec found those qualities highly attractive in a woman. ...But then again, Seven wasn't exactly a woman. Not in the traditional sense anyway. And besides, she was just starting to sort out how emotions work. Alec wasn't even sure she had her own personality down pat yet. How could he make a judgment about someone who didn't even know who they were yet?

Alec certainly had a lot to think about, but he didn't say anything. He didn't want Seven to make any judgments yet if he himself wasn't sure of what was going on.

{{Yay!!! biggrin }}

Lin was smiling so wide and so happily. She and Dymetri were in the same Starbucks where they had first started becoming close. She had been so frustrated and angry at him at the time, but she had also felt and indescribable pull toward him. When they had come into the Starbucks, the calming atmosphere had quickly dispersed all of those feelings except for the pull.

Dymetri had also told her about his past here and had opened her eyes to so many things. It was rather poetic to be here the night after they had made love for the first time.

She ordered the same drink Dymetri had ordered for her that first night and then went to go sit with him. When he pulled out her chair, though, she smirked, pushed Dymetri into the chair lightly instead, and then sat on his lap. She cuddled closely to him and sipped at her drink.

When the waitress brought the biscotti over that Lin had ordered, Lin's eyes widened slightly. It was the same woman from that first night that had looked as if she wanted to devour Dymetri completely! Well, since it was the same shift that she and Dymetri had come during, she shouldn't be completely shocked that it was the same waitress, but she was.

The waitress still looked at Dymetri the same way she had that first night. Since Dymetri only looked a little different in his human form, people who had only seen him briefly in the past would probably think he was the same person.

When the waitress left, again without a glance to Lin, Lin turned back to Dymetri, cupped the side of his face with her free hand, and kissed him deeply and slowly.

She pulled back a few minutes later, her eyes a bright, happy blue. She took a sip of her coffee, sighed softly, and then spoke.

"How perfect is this? We made love last night, which was incredible, we are back here for coffee, and it is Monday, which means that classes for the week begin again!"

She sighed in pure bliss. "It could not get any better than this! Are you in the Magical Creatures class today, Dymetri? It is the newest, most-popular class this semester. I am in it."

She smiled brightly as she started thinking of the possibilities. "I hope Maggie the fairy is in the class, too. I could discuss the class with her since she is another nature creature. Elves work closely with fairies on a normal basis, so having a class with one would be tremendous!"

"I would like to learn more about the creatures that are in the forest around this school. They are quite different from the ones surrounding Bai Ching. In Bai Ching, we have centaurs, water spirits, godly horses, magical felines... it is quite incredible. Do you know what animals surround MFHS, Dymetri?"

She looked at him with wide, inquisitive eyes.
