She caught the 'father' mention again, though personally she considered him a grandfather, sweet and a bit abrupt. Someone who might slip you a bit of candy (actual candy, thank you very much) with a wink. Or at least a damned aspirin.
She sighed. "And I'll apologize for doing that, for worrying you, for making others grieve. But Jesus...It was the voices. I just couldn't deal with the voices." As if they were shouting in her head again, she lifted her hands to her ears, clamped them over them and stared almost right through Ophi, her eyes dark.

Ah, now this was a bit easier. With gentle fingers, he traced the back of her neck, stopping at the nape of her neck over her spine. "Here, wasn't it?" He asked, his soft thumb brushing over her skin.

Lin sighed softly and her eyes closed as she felt Ambrose's strong-yet-gentle fingers against the back of her sensitive neck. This was a new experience for her. She had never taught before and had these sensations at the same time.
She tried to speak with certainty in her voice, but her voice was still soft when she did end up speaking.
"No.. That is where the neck will give and bend. That is exactly where you do not want to hit. You want to got down a half inch lower at the base of neck, where it meets the shoulder line."

"Apology accepted," he said kindly. After you, you couldn't really argue with voices. "It's up to you whether or not you want to tell me what the voices said to trouble you so much. And really, it's up to you to accept the offer, but..."
He held a new bottle of extra-strength aspirin and a cup of water. As skilled with magic as he was, there was no telling when or how the water and medicine got there.
"Think of me however you want, but please come to me whenever you need help."

Grateful beyond words once she blinked herself back into focus and saw the pills, she reached out, shaking out three and swallowing them before she clutched the cup of water in both hands, raising it to her lips and sipping from it.
"The voices..." Everything inside her froze up, and she made a concentrated effort to relax again. They were gone now, banished from her mind. They couldn't come anymore, sliding slying into her head in the night, filling her with doubts and gory images of her own demise.
"They came before I fulfilled the prophecy, before the Ancients regained control. They came from both sides. One was an accident, the other...torture." She whispered the word, as one who's seen the cruelty in the pits of Hades does.
"It was magic. Magic in the form of voices. The Ancients didn't mean to send theirs out...It was my fate, they would say, my destiny, an irreversible path. I had no other choices, no other options, but the path laid out in the prophecy. And then..." She swallowed more water, her eyes staring blankly ahead, her hands shaking slightly around the cup.
"They came from Satan's side as well. Those voices came with pictures. Bloody battle scenes, scores of dead bodies. Me among them. Satan victorious, feasting on my blood. The only possible outcome, they would say, the only way such a battle would end. It was hopeless, I was as good as dead...And the other voices just kept saying it was my destiny. And I didn't want it."
She looked towards Ophi now, her eyes huge, her voice almost pleading. "I didn't want it..."

"Ah...Yes, yes I see, just here." He trailed his fingers down her spine, stopping and circling where her spine and shoulder line met, applying just a hint of pressure with his thumb.

Lin couldn't stop a soft sigh from escaping her lips as Ambrose applied pressure to correct spot. It wasn't painful, but it was an odd-enough sensation for her to have an audible reaction to it.
She blushed again and then moved forward so she could straighten back up and turn around to look at Ambrose. She was smiling brightly.
"Very good, Ambrose! This is going so well. We are going to have so much fun together! I have also noticed that with your attention to detail, your strong muscles, and the care and focus you put into each touch, you could be an excellent masseuse. That will be very beneficial when you become a father. Many ailments in a child can be relieved with gentle and precise massages."
Still smiling, she looked around at the different dummies. A small frown formed on her face, though, when she realized that all of these dummies had no head.
"Hmm.. I do not know how we will practice this move on a dummy when there are none that have heads."

Ophiuchus leaned forward, his eyes still calm. "Those were the voices of despair and self-doubt," he said softly. "Everyone will hear them at some point. It's ... not always magic. Often enough, those voices are self-created." He could only imagine what voices Ialo heard, he grimly thought. His own voices, he had quieted a long time ago, most of them at least.

Because she wanted to retreat into herself, because she wanted to curl up in a corner with her hands over her ears, she forced herself to meet his gaze, to listen to his words.
"...And you?" She asked softly, "Have you heard them?"

Still blinking from her 'children' comment, he looked at the dummies as well, then blinked.
"...Science lab?" He suggested, referring to the plastic skeletons they used for projects and such.

"I have," the healer answered quietly. "And I still do. For the most part, none as grisly as yours, but... yes."

"...Would you tell me?" She asked, hesitating a bit. She didn't want to cross any line, to make him decide she wasn't worth it after all. He understood, he got it...He forgave. She didn't want to lose that by forcing him to talk.

{{Caaaaarl.... lol. smile }}
Lin looked at Ambrose with curiosity. "The science lab? What is in there?"
She had never been to the MFHS science lab. She had finished all of her science classes her first year at Bai Ching since a strong foundation in science was critical to be any kind of worthwhile healer. She needed to finish her science classes before she could take classes focused in herbs and potions.

He looked at her and blinked a few times. For a moment, he truly seemed as old as he really was. "... My voices," he started. A false start. He sat up and stretched, and then started again.
"The voices I hear," he started again. "They ask me if I'm doing the right thing. They remind me of my family, who all died a long time ago." He scoffed. "And then there's Riser. He and I go far back. We... used to get along relatively well. The voices like to remind me of that too."
He glanced at the clock, seeing how late at night it was. Sleep was a trivial thing at this school.
"More often, I find myself seeing Ialo lose his way, and consequently taking many others with him, myself included. He really too much trouble, that boy."

Kai Stood atop his tower surveying the school grounds bellow his wings embellished with silver feathers, each shining in the moon's light. He snickered folding his wings over his shoulders before hopping off his tower onto the roof of the main building pacing slowly across until he was next too the opposite Tower. As he was about to step off the roof he turned on his heel and started walking back towards the way her came, patrolling back and fourth lazily. "Where are they?" he asked himself curiously scanning the grounds.
